I started taking reformer pilates classes at the bayshore location over 2 years ago. All of the instructors have been incredibly kind as well as the front desk staff. Angela is one of my personal favorite instructors, she pushes me to do my best but not in an uncomfortable way. I always leave her classes feeling better than when I walked in. If you’re thinking of taking a class you won’t regret doing it at bayshore!

Love Club Pilates!!
NEVER the same routine twice and I’m nearly at 250 classes! So glad to have Club Pilates to keep me strong & lucky it is less than 10 minutes away from home!
Classes are scheduled so that anyone can find some that work for their preference or schedule. Instructors actually instruct! If you need to adjust position or have a health issue- there is always an option to add progression or not - no shaming here!
Pilates really does help me to get strong and stay healthy.
Thank you Club Pilates and special shout out to Jessica & Jill & Randi & Magdalena ✨

I started reformer Pilates at the Bay Shore location about 6 months ago to help strengthen my core prior to spine surgery and continued after to help in my recovery. The instructors here are great and front desk staff is always friendly. I’ve taken mostly level 1 flow classes and just started taking level 1.5 flow classes. My workouts are always challenging, well guided, and I appreciate that instructors always offered modifications to help at different stages of my recovery. I have the unlimited membership and find that it’s always easy to get into a class that fits my schedule at this location. So far I’ve taken over 65 classes, lost 15+ lbs, my posture has improved, and I’m feeling stronger than ever with very little to no back pain now 4 months post surgery. I would highly recommend trying the free intro class if you’re curious.

Angela on a Wednesday is a must not miss type of class. She makes sure you are using proper form and will not ask more of you than you are willing to give. With that said she also knows when you have more in the tank to give. I am prone to hip flare up’s, so she checks in to see if I need a modification or anything

In my weight loss and health journey, I was considering to start and try Yoga, then I received a postcard in the mail that Club Pilates was opening in Bay Shore. I took the introductory class and I was hooked, joined immediately. I now LOVE Pilates. Not only did it help with my weight loss (lost a total of 175 lbs) but it helped with mindfulness, relaxation, balance core and total body strength. Each instructor brings their own personal touch to the classes, they all have a keen understanding of the Art of Pilates (as taught by Joseph Pilate), they want us to succeed and master the Art for ourselves in a safe manner at our own level. The Studio has 12 individual stations which include a Reformer, TRX, Exo-Chair, Bosu ball, mats, rollers, and String Wall. Advancing to Level 2 was a personal goal I choose to achieve for my own growth. I realized how beneficial Pilates was with my balance and core strength when I went Zip Lining and saw how confident I was on the trails. I would recommend Pilates to anyone who is seeking self-confidence, a healthy and balanced lifestyle and strength. The Pilates classes in the Bay Shore Studio are my serenity!

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Club Pilates due to the awful treatment I received. I had an introductory class scheduled for Saturday, February 10, but called on Friday to reschedule for Monday, February 12. The staff confirmed availability. I arrived on Monday at 12:29 pm, but waited on line and got to the counter at 12:33, I was told I was late and couldn’t join the class due to a strict late policy, despite the email only suggesting arriving early for parking and check-in. I explained I took the day off for this class, and the instructor agreed I could join, but the staff member that returned to the counter rudely denied me entry, and escalated the situation.

The woman behind the counter treated me disrespectfully, raising her voice and giving me hostile looks. The other customer in line, a woman, left due to similar mistreatment. I decided to speak with a manager, but the staff continued to speak rudely to me. It felt like we were targeted because both the other customer and I are African American. Meanwhile, a white male customer wasn’t treated the same way.

After leaving, I returned to ask for the staff member’s name to file a review, they locked the door. The manager finally unlocked the door but refused to provide her name after I mentioned writing a negative review. I spoke to the owner via text message and even after I explained how badly I was treated, the owner, who wasn’t present at the time, wasn’t apologetic. This experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome.

So far loving my experience at this club pilates. I haven’t experienced a class with Angela (lots of negative reviews about her) but I actually came to recommend not taking a class with Melissa. Every class I’ve taken with her she has been so rude and condescending to everyone in the class. Genuinely just seems not happy with what she’s doing. Other than her every instructor has been amazing!

I have been coming to Club Pilates in Bay Shore at least twice a week for all of 2024. I take/have taken classes with Jessica, Angela, Marguerite and Tyler.

I think it is good to keep in mind that every person works out differently, takes correction differently and teaches differently. Club Pilates is great because people of all skill levels get access to quality supervision and instruction, but with that said, just like how you didn't like every teacher in school you won't like every instructor at any CP location, so it's important to try different instructors/classes out till you find the one(s) you click with. Like I took one Cardio Sculpt class and KNEW with my whole being those classes aren't for me, but that's not on Melissa.

I was possessed to write this review because Angela, while certainly firm and direct, has in my experience provided me with the most meaningful corrections and honest feedback to improve my performance, and I think that her skills, knowledge and expertise in Pilates is really second to none. I have a permanent injury that limits my ability occasionally and while all of the instructors are helpful in offering modifications, Angela has been especially effective in helping me be successful through rough flares ups with my trouble area. When she took month off I genuinely missed her instruction. She has a unique teaching style, and she asks that exercises be done in specific ways, but she doesn't ask for something without explaining why, or offering an alternative if it doesn't/can't work for you. I really enjoy seeing her every Wednesday at 4:30. Her classes offer the widest range of exercises that I've experienced but I think Tyler likes to throw in a good curve ball here and there too.

Tyler is newer to Bay Shore, but not new by any means and she wrecks my ish like every other week. Her classes are VERY challenging for level 1 some weeks but I've decided that I'm into it, we all have to grow up sometime I guess. She has been nothing but accommodating and helpful in regards to my condition, which flares a bit more often in her class because I push my limits. I also really like the music she chooses, which may seem silly but it matters. Jessica has fun music as well.

Jessica is really just a ray of sunshine, which is good because she does early am classes and she is excellent at hyping me up to that level by the end of class too. She also inspired me to care about my squat form, all I want is to make it through her squat/lunge sets. Her classes are very popular and that makes sense, they are a nice challenging pace and a full range of exercises, there is a lot of consistency which I like in an early am class, you don't have to think too hard. I leave sweaty and full of endorphins every single time.

I haven't been to one of Marguerite's classes in awhile because my schedule changed but she much like Jessica was very nice and offered a nicely paced class that went through a good range of exercises. A solid lunchtime class, I miss the mid-day stress relief honestly.

All and all Club Pilates is not cheap, but you can get your money's worth very easily. I have two herniated discs in my lower cervical spine along with significant spinal stenosis. I decided to try pilates instead of PT for the 8th time and it has been really good for me. I am starting to notice changes in my physique and I feel a whole lot better. I'd recommend it if you have the time and money :)

The instructors are fabulous!! Love all the instructors I did classes with!! They are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.Nice clean studio great reformers! The classes book up fast so you have to know your schedule for the month to get into classes. If you don't cancel at least 12 hours before class you lose your money which I think is totally ridiculous. (Why not issue a credit for another class, schedules change!!) I mean for $200 a month and you're only allowed 8 classes that's a lot!!!
I would warn you to find out about the cancellation policy. I never received it!!I was told it was texted to me??? I assumed it was month to month. It is not!! If you don't cancel a WHOLE MONTH in advance they will charge you for the next month. I was away and got my cancellation form in a week late (after telling them I was away and wasn't able to "write" on the form through my phone) they still charged me for a whole month. Mind you I wanted to cancel the month before and they were well aware of that. I had emails and text messages to prove it. Management (or maybe owner) wasn't helpful at all. All about the money NOT about the clients. I will not be going back. There are plenty of other Pilates studios in the area.(Club Pilates Bay Shore studio)

I love Club Pilates. All of the instructors have been great, the environment is clean, no complaints. Looking at some of the other reviews I've noticed some bad comments about an instructor named Angela. We were a little bit nervous but I have to tell you she was one of the best Pilates instructors I have had. She is tough and specific, and she will check you... But that's what Pilates is all about. She truly cares about your form and wants everyone to get a great workout. With that said, if you're going for fun, don't go to Angela's class. If you want to challenge yourself and build muscle and knowledge.... Try a class! She was wonderful!

I love Club Pilates! Low impact works CAN and WILL transform your body! I am a runner and I go to the gym a lot and so I was looking for something different to add into my workout routine and had always been interested in Pilates. I had never been on a reformer and was definitely intrigued by this workout style so I decided to take a free class and I really liked it! I signed up right away and I got a chance to speak with the owner who is VERY friendly! It is definitely a more expensive experience but it’s worth it if you use it and actually want to see a difference in your body. I’ve been trying to get my step mom to join as I really believe this would be such a great and doable workout for her! I’ve been a member for about a month and a half now. I try to go 5/7 days a week and I feel so much stronger already. It is very clean and I really love the lighting. You walk in and lay down and insistently feel calm. (The trainers usually play good music too) :) Every trainer is very different. Some you may love and some you may not love so I would recommend trying them all out and seeing which you like best and then proceed with taking their classes. That was the first thing I did when I joined and I honestly love them all for different reasons. I read the recent reviews about the instructor Angela and I can understand where they are coming from but I LOVE her! She’s very knowledgeable and gives great workouts! I am writing this review because I am the type of person who makes decisions based on reviews and I almost didn’t join Club Pilates because of these reviews but I did anyways and I am so glad I did so give it a shot I bet you will love it!

I have nothing but accolades for Club Pilates in Bay Shore. I joined reluctantly at the urging of my daughter and committed to the initial 3 month contract shortly after they opened. Within a week I was hooked and have incorporated a class into almost every day. I researched Joseph Pilates and the theory behind this form of exercise and was convinced that I finally found the right exercise for me. I have belonged to almost every gym in Bay Shore and never went with any frequency. Now I attend at least 5 classes a week. The difference is the instructor lead small classes inspire me to achieve my goals. I no longer suffer from lower back pain and sciatica. I feel strong, flexible and healthy. I've worked with all the instructors and choose classes with the ones that suit me the best. Their enthusiasm and dedication keep me coming back. Members are all ages and body types. Everyone can do Pilates and it's so good for you. The owners, staff and members are all outstanding. I'm so glad a studio opened so close to home. I'm a new person physically and mentally and am forever grateful to have a Club Pilates nearby.

I wish I could give 0 stars - the woman with the A name in the review below is this horrid woman Angela that I guess gets off on making other people feel bad about themselves. Me and my sister in law came here last night to take a class - it being her first time (not in general but just at club pilates) she went up to her/us in the beginning and said when she told her she wasnt sure how many classes she had taken but expressed she was going to be fine she looked at her and said "this is an advanced class" looking at her like she was expecting her to leave which my SIL then replied after moments of awkward staring "well I am already here" coming to me next which I explained I have taken probably 10ish not exactly sure but assured her I was an athlete which she looked down at me on the reformed and pffttted so very rudely. She then throughout the class (that we paid 39 dollars for just like everyone else in there) proceeced to make comments like "for the people that dont belong" and "for the ones who quite frankly shouldnt have signed up for this class" which everyone obviously knew she was talking about us, trying to embarrass us. I think that this is disgraceful, this is a workout class teaching someone how to workout not do brain surgery and for someone none the less a fitness instructor who should be focused on body positivity and helping rather than putting people down shouldnt work anywhere near any sort of gym - all in all the class was great we got through it just like every other pilates class I've ever taken and Angela should retire (being she was already relocated from Bayport from if I had to guess a similar situation)

I pay $200 a month for 8 classes. Today I was 6 minutes late to my class. They have a 5 minute late rule that they won’t let you take the class if you’re more than 5 minutes late (this is my first time hearing about this because I’ve never been late before) so this is my first time late since I began my membership Jan 1st- and I missed the cut off by 1 minute, and the woman said with a smile- “I can’t let you into this class.” I said, “seriously” clearly upset and she bluntly says “yeah.” I understand I was late BUT for this being my first time ever late in 3 months and missing the cut off by 1 minute and turning me away I am considering taking my business elsewhere.

I have been attending this club pilates for almost a year now and I have to say when I initially joined I was happy with the variability with times of classes they had which made it very accessible (which it should be being the membership being on the pricer side). But in recent months they have been decreasing their class availability as well as dismissing concerns over certain instructors immature and nasty behaviors by excusing it as them "challenging you".

I have been taking group instructor classes for over 8 years now and personally love a physical challenge but have never once experienced an instructor passive aggressively belittling me in front of a whole group class. On top of that, most but not all of the instructors are very reluctant to progress and make challenging classes even in the advanced 1.5 classes. Overall, the decreasing accessibility, rude attitudes from instructors and lack of classes that continue to increase your progress physically make the $250 a month pretty hard to justify.
