Hi, I’d need you guys to be more careful with credit card information. I paid for mat rental with tapping card once and the receptionist did not ask if I’d like to put that card on file and just automatically did without me knowing.
I then got charge the next time when I didn’t show up for a community class, which was free to begin with. I didn’t show up because when I had check 30 min before the class I was still on #7 waitlisted?? Who was going to make it when they get manually added the last second??
I emailed them but did not receive any response other than the automated ones. I did receive the money back after 2 weeks but this is still concerning.
I did not consent to linking my card on file!

Had three yoga sessions through the free week and had a great experience here. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, the instructors are clear and competent. The classes are easy to follow even for beginners. Yoga mats are $4 for rent and towels are $2 for rent, which I think is reasonable price. They sanitize and dry the yoga mats after each use. They have lockers you can use to store your belongings and the bathroom and shower room are clean. Great place for yoga.

WARNING: Predatory business model ruins an otherwise great yoga experience
I genuinely loved the yoga classes - the instructors are skilled and the community is vibrant. However, this company’s predatory business practices have completely ruined the experience for me. They make it nearly impossible to cancel your membership through what’s known as a “dark pattern.”
Dark patterns are manipulative design choices that make it easy to sign up but nearly impossible to cancel (think Amazon Prime’s confusing cancellation maze). CorePower has perfected this unethical practice.
My experience + what I see in reviews nationwide:
- Cannot cancel online despite signing up online in seconds
- Multiple cancellation emails sent with zero response
- Email addresses they provide for cancellation bounce back as undeliverable
- Continued billing despite clear cancellation attempts (had to call my bank to stop payments)
- Based on reviews across the country, this is their standard operating procedure
The pattern is clear: they make millions by banking on people giving up on cancellation attempts. This isn’t incompetence - it’s intentional design to extract money from customers who want to leave.
My advice: Look for yoga studios with transparent, customer-friendly cancellation policies. It’s heartbreaking that such decent yoga instruction is overshadowed by these predatory and abusive business practices. Your practice deserves a studio that respects you both on and off the mat.
I’ll update this review if they actually respond and resolve the cancellation, but based on other reviews, I’m not holding my breath.
Note: Document all your cancellation attempts and consider filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if you’re experiencing similar issues.

Not very accessible! I got to the entrance at 5pm on time for my booking and the door was closed. Tried to buzz in and waited for over 6 minutes but no answer at all!!! No one was there to help so I had to head back without getting in. Complete waste of my time!

This is my first time ever leaving a review, which should say a lot. I take Pilates or yoga almost every day, and I’ve never had such a negative experience.
First, they charge extra for a mat—which is already frustrating—but the mat I was given smelled absolutely awful, like a mix of mold and dirty feet. It was genuinely unbearable. I stepped out briefly to grab a towel so I could actually get through the class, and the instructor came out and told me I wasn’t allowed back in because I was “late.” I had arrived at least 5–10 minutes early, so either she confused me with someone else or was just being rude.
Either way, between the unclean equipment, the disorganization, and the unprofessional behavior, I won’t ever be coming back. Really disappointing experience.

Took my first Yoga Sculpt class at CorePower with Valerie Merla and absolutely loved it! The heated environment helped my muscles open up, and the class had a great balance of strength training, cardio, and deep stretching.
Valerie was an outstanding instructor—high energy, great music, smooth transitions, and a warm, motivating presence. She kept the class flowing and made it both challenging and fun. I left feeling strong and refreshed. Highly recommend Valerie’s class if you’re looking to sweat, sculpt, and stretch it out!

I came on here to share some positive feedback about CPY in Park Slope. First things first…I am OBSESSED. I’ve been a yogi for 15+ years. Overall, I love the CPY concept—a nice blend of yoga, cardio and strength training. An all around full body workout, especially if you live a very busy life like me (working mom of two small children on a structured schedule). The teachers are kind, knowledgeable, and encouraging. I’ve always felt welcomed and challenged in class. And, just like yoga teaches us, you always have the option to take what you need and modify or move at your own pace.
If you unsure about whether to attend a class, I say, stay open and give it a try. I think you’ll love it. Thank you, CPY for supporting me on my wellness journey!
