I met with the owner, Dave, Monday. Very easy process to get signed up and started. I took a class that day and was made to feel very welcomed.
Second class back after years of not working out. Chaz was very good about not pushing me too hard but giving pointers to keep me safe coming back. He carefully watched my form during each movement, gently correcting my posture and suggesting modifications when needed to prevent any strain.
There was lots of energy in the room at CrossFit 845 - Poughkeepsie - people encouraging each other, upbeat music, and a lively pace that kept me motivated without feeling overwhelmed. Chaz made me feel very welcome from the moment I walked in, checking in on how I was doing throughout the class and making sure I stayed comfortable while still getting a solid workout. It was the perfect balance of support and challenge for someone easing back into fitness.

I moved from Maine to Dutchess County 3 months ago. I had gone to CrossFit in Maine and loved it. It was my happy place. I had been there for years. There are many "excuses" for taking 3 months before going but I am so glad I did. The CrossFit community at 845 in Poughkeepsie did NOT disappoint. They were so welcoming and inclusive. My cup overflowith after my hour at the box. There are SO many things to love about CrossFit and 845 had them all. I am excited to go back. 845 reminded me why CrossFit is my happy place. Thank you.

James was great! He had Artie demo all the movements and then kept the class pumped and going for the AMRAP. My favorite thing was his music selection of Rock/Metal. Definitely kept me motivated as well as my team of 3! Loved working out with Artie and Jenna! They kicked ass.

Get Up And Move class: Loved the well designed work out. Loved the appropriate attention coach provided with corrections when needed. Loved the little tidbit of info offered in the end of the session on why we are doing this and how the natural aging process can get reversed. Fast twitch muscles important for balance among other things turning into slow twitch muscle as part of aging process, reversed by doing specific training.

Becoming a member at Dutchess CrossFit Poughkeepsie has been one of the best decisions I’ve made not only physically but mentally as well. Dutchess Crossfit Poughkeepsie is the place that has helped me change my life! It was extremely hard to walk in that door the first time for my Meeting with Steve. I wouldnt even do the first one on one workout. But I did walk back in for the 6 month challenge. I was a size 24 and up to 260 pounds. I had a setback, but I am back and Now I cant wait to walk in the door and get started. I go to the 5am class and the 8am Saturday class!! I really can not get enough!! When I go I feel great!! I am down to a size 18 heading into a 16. The scale not as good but I plan to be under 200 by my Crossfit Anniversary date!! I encourage anyone looking to change their world to join us!! We work hard, we play hard, we enjoy our crossfit family and always have room for more to encourage! I thank all of our coaches and all of my classmates and all those who are a part of our family for constant encouragement!!

I just recently started taking classes here. While I've only taken a few classes I absolutely love the vibe and the coaches. All the members have been so welcoming, it is a wonderful community. I've always been tentative to try crossfit because of fear of injury but the coaches are incredible at explaining movements and making sure you have proper form.

One of the best thing I have done for my health and fitness is that I joined Dutchess CrossFit at Poughkeepsie. I have been going there for a year and a half and the results are amazing. I started doing CrossFit when I had knees and back problem and now I feel no pain and most fit. Mario has been a great coach who pushes you to the limit while still doing quality moves and workout without hurting myself.

I rebooted my CrossFit journey with Steve in 2017. He was true to his word that the entire coaching staff is about scaling for people's unique needs. Beginning with the 6-week fitness challenge, I have lost significant weight, I'm down a shirt and pants size and lowered my body mass index by 3%. Best of all, I'm not winded after snow shoveling ;-) I have had a fabulous experience with every coach (past and present) and made a number of friends as well. Thank you Steve and Marc and team!

I have started this gym when I was thirteen years old. It has been apart of my life for so long and I'm so grateful for it! I recently started the 6 week challenge and have been stuck since then. Everyone in the gym is so kind and understanding. They will always motivate and encourage you to keep going. It's a gym filled with loving people and trainers who care for you and are actually there for you. I have had my ups and downs in life and when I step into crossfit it's a whole other world! I immediately forget all my problems and get it moving with the workouts. I have been trained by Greg, Steve, Jemel, Christine, and Marc and many more other trainers. They give you a good laugh and help you reach your goals. I will forever cherish these moments and invite everyone to come give it a try! 😉🎉🎉🎉

Two months ago I tried DC because I felt I was plateauing during my workouts. I just wasn’t seeing results and I needed something different. Marc and Steve were extremely welcoming, making sure I was doing everything correctly and adjusting the programming according to my fitness level. I was shocked that the next time I came in they knew my name and I was seeing familiar faces. Two months in not only have I send results in my body but I cannot believe the things I could do. I would’ve never thought that I could do 100 sit-ups, or 100 burpees or jump on boxes. All of the coaches are great and hold me accountable and push me to be the best I could be. They also have created a wonderful sense of community between the members through social events, and coming in everyday. I can not recommend Dutchess Crossfit enough.

I cannot say enough positive things about the warm community, inspiring coaches, and encouraging atmosphere fostered at Dutchess CrossFit Poughkeepsie. I started CrossFit about 6 months ago, and since then I have been in the best shape of my life (with a long way to go, but I am excited to get there thanks to the knowledgable and supportive staff and members!) and have found a family. I look forward to coming in whenever I can, and it is truly my therapy.
There are things I can do, both in the gym and out, that I never would have believed myself capable of prior to coming here - the very best part about joining the gym is that you'll see how strong you really are - not only physically, but mentally as well. I can't imagine not having this gym to come to, now that I know it exists. I was formerly a member of other gyms, none of them CrossFit affiliates - and I had no clue what I was missing. Do you?
Please, do yourself a favor and come check it out - you will not be disappointed.

From day one I have had a great experience at Dutchess CrossFit Poughkeepsie. The coaches were extremely welcoming (which you would expect) but what blew me away was how welcoming the entire community was! I have belonged to this gym/box since it’s inception and I don’t have any other Crossfit gyms to base my review, but if you want a place that has your best interest in hand and coaches who care and qualified this is the place. I’m bias because I belong to this one, but if I didn’t like it I still wouldn’t be here. We have so many great things here on site chiropractor(Dr. Owen Brewster, on site supplement store(Pryme Yourself), as well as a great vending machine with many choices. Our space provided is immense and the atmosphere is bar none the best. Bottom line is this gym is a great place to start and if you are looking to try a different box than look no further. Crossfit 845 (Poughkeepsie),as well all our other sister boxes are definitely worth the time to try!!

I never thought it was something for me, but I figured I'd give it a try... 6 months later, still going 3 times/week (sometimes 4!). Feeling stronger, and actually looking forward to the class. It's hard, but feels so good after the class is done... And the coaches are awesome and always work with you to address your limitations, but also push you when you're doubting yourself.

Before CrossFit I was a disabled mother feeling herself getting weaker by the day as my son started to become more independent. I have not had a normal life in a very long time and have had to struggle with day to day activities most people take for granted.I couldn't lift a gallon of milk with my right arm , showering was even difficult as well as brushing my hair ,just to name a few.
After joining not only have I felt myself getting stronger but I am noticing muscle definition in places that I've never noticed it before. My body is loving me these days and I feel myself pushing myself further and further. Friday we did our first login to wodify and I couldn't believe that I had came in #10 /27 I never thought I'd be able to do half of the things I've done with our class but to actually see myself improving and being able to compete with others brought me to tears when I came home and told my husband . I would of never thought after all of these years that this was possible! Monday's class I pushed myself much harder than I'm used to but I've known my limitations for a long while and I know that because of my work here with you guys I was able to make that extra push. I'm finally on a road to recovery and after 8 years of doctors , multple different therapiess, pills, surgeries,and nothing that truely helped . I am beyond thankful for crosfit, Steve, Alisa, and Dave for helping me to move past this dark part in my life and start to be somewhat normal again. Because of this 6 week program I already am on the road to being a better mother , a better wife , a better photographer and a much healthier person ... for that there is nothing in the world that could make me more thankful <3 I have a life again and it's because of this program our awesome teammates and our Amazing instructors <3
