This gym is going to hell fast. Steam room rarely works, locker room regularly dirty. Disgusting acts being performed in men’s locker room between guests. Was once an okay gym, now deciding if I want to cancel membership for the Y even with the COVID deal I got locked in on.

UPDATE 11/29/25: continuing its trek downhill. GIGANTIC cockroaches near steam room and sauna. Weights never reracked, door scanner rarely works and regularly involves awkward interactions with door team, benches found in the most unusual of places and LOTS of people working out and in saunas with street clothes. This place needs new management.

I love this gym, I've been going there for a long time, but the only way to stop the lewd behavior in the showers and sauna is to close the sauna for a long time and remove the shower curtains, because I'm gay and I have fun, of course, but I think it's sometimes disrespectful to see scenes or hear things in the shower, and for people to stay in the shower for a long time with the curtains open trying to find some fun. I think the manager should remove all the curtains for a while to stop the lewd behavior in the crunch Tribeca
Unfortunately, gay people don't respect anyone in the sauna or showers. They don't know how to respect heterosexual people. So I think it's time to put an end to this lewd behavior in the showers and saunas.🤟💪

Horrible management with no customer service. Spam you with emails to try to get you to sign up for a membership but love to just quote their strict policies and show little interest in finding useful solutions for their customers.

This is an overall good gym. The amenities are very nice. The equipment is up to date; however, there are a few machines that they do not have and I wish they did.

This gym is crowded, the machines are very close together and the people that go to this gym can't seem to stay in their own space. The gym etiquette is definitely lacking. This isn't entirely the fault of the gym itself, so 4 stars.

i'm newer to the gym and almost didn't go because of some of the damning reviews. not sure what people are talking about with "outdated equipment", "no squat racks", etc. there are squat racks, the equipment is new-ish. clean gym, clean locker room w/ full steam room, dry sauna, free towel service, and squat racks

A gentleman who identified himself as joe very disrespectful, i pay my membership almost a year now and i come in to try out this location since it is closer to my workplace. And i get treated very poorly. I simply come in to ask a question about the different facilities in this location and the guy in the front desk after i scanned my tag i try to ask a question and he is on the phone talking not even talking to me. All because i entered through the “wrong door” even though the sign on the door says use other door. Very hostile environment and negative. I thought the gym is supposed to be a place where you go to improve yourself. Very Disappointed! And i emailed to no response just an automated ad from “joe” that says something along the lines of enroll your family for a discount. Just a slap in the face for me

I came into this location to join this gym. I walked in around 10am in the morning. I signed in as a guest and waited 10-15minutes with no assistance on helping me sign up for this gym. It seems like their staff here frown their noises and turn the other way when they see a brown complexation person in this facility. Its not an expensive member ship so I don't the bougie-ness with how the staff act at this location maybe because it's on this street they feel important. I would to another location with professional workers and better customer service. It's funny how they have a sign big on the wall behind the front desk that reads "NO JUDGEMNET." I felt JUDGED as soon as i walked in. Crunch needs to do better at picking better staff to represent your business. We must stay humble I mean after all it's only CRUNCH gym. P.S the handsome black ma at the front desk with the long beautiful dreads was very nice and too bad he could not help me.

As a fairly new Crunch member I am starting to learn that none of their gyms are particularly nice. This one feels a bit outdated, despite it being in one of NYC’s most expensive neighborhoods to live in. I actually came to this location today because I wanted to use a steam room after my workout, so I searched on their website for locations that had one — but it was “out of order until further notice”. Disappointing but not surprising.

EDIT: Love that the gym writes back saying "we're listening" but don't address any of my comments while they're at it. No, I will not write you an email with what I already wrote here. Maybe you should figure out a better way to act upon members' feedback instead.

I just moved to NYC. I searched for a him I could call my second home and I found it here at Crunch. First and foremost the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The gym itself has all the equipment I may need. It's never messy. I get there about 5:15 am most days so it's very easy to train. There are lockers for your belongings. Showers. I haven't had any bad experiences here. It's a place for folks who just wanna train hard.

Five Stars – Exceptional Staff, Incredible Support!

I’ve been coming to Crunch Tribeca for over a year now, and this experience just reinforced why it’s my favorite gym. Huge shoutout to Christian and Erin for going above and beyond when I found myself in a stressful situation. My AirPods case somehow ended up in someone else’s locker, and I spent 30 minutes running around trying to figure out what to do. Thanks to the Find My app, I was able to confirm where they were, but I wasn’t sure how to proceed.

Christian and Erin were absolute pros—calm, reassuring, and with a clear plan to help me sort things out. What really stood out was their dedication. Even after the manager’s shift had ended, they still reached out to get approval to break the lock if needed. Thankfully, I was able to catch the person as they were grabbing their things, played the sound again, and got my AirPods back—crisis averted!

I don’t want to assume anything about how they ended up there, but what I do know is that the staff at Crunch Tribeca is next level. The professionalism, attentiveness, and willingness to go the extra mile make this gym truly stand out. Huge thanks to Christian and Erin—Crunch is lucky to have them!

Keonna at the front desk is the best! Always cheerful whenever I come to this gym.

The floors are spotless and fresh towels are constantly being stocked. I haven’t had to wait to get on a treadmill 🙂 as I think most people use the second floor for weights.

I visited this gym in Tribeca during rush hour on a workday and it was pretty packed, machines are kind of together, so it can feel a bit cramped. The gym is spread over a few floors with the top floor is all cardio, the second floor has muscle-building machines plus a yoga room, and the third floor offers open spaces for personal workouts along with the locker rooms. The locker rooms are spacious with big showers and plenty of large lockers, which is great for winter. I only saw one water machine on the second floor, which isn’t the most convenient. The ventilation isn’t great like it felt stuffy and room temp. Also, at least half of the cardio machines, mostly the treadmills, were pretty old and squeaky. But the gym is clean, with plenty of wipe stations, and everyone is good about wiping down machines.

The gym itself is okay, but the sauna and steam room were disappointing. The steam room and sauna wasn’t hot enough, and the steam room had an unpleasant smell. They also didn’t have the eucalyptus spray. I was looking forward to relaxing in the sauna but couldn’t. On a positive note, the receptionist was very friendly.

While in NYC for business, I got a day pass at Crunch Fitness on the days I worked out, and it was such a great experience! The staff were super friendly and really focused on making sure everyone felt welcome. One thing I loved, especially compared to gyms in Germany, was the free towels—such a nice touch! I like to go at this gym but I feel very uncomfortable since few weeks having staff supervising everything in the lockers room like if it was a jail, opening steam room and starring for seconds people, looking under the curtain in the showers to see only two feet or worse checking after you in the toilets if you were alone! I never saw that in any gym before it’s super inconfortable. Not sure I will come back in this location even if it’s convenient from home.

Worst Crunch Location! In desperate need of a renovation. Despite having a full wet sauna and dry sauna you are only permitted to use 2 towels per visit. The towels are small and of bad quality. They barely cover the body while steaming. On top of that you have to ask to use the towels from the front desk like you’re some kind of child. Definitely recommend visiting a different location or just getting a membership for a better gym.

Blink fitness quality at Equinox prices. I came here today and after my workout I was going to take a shower but to my absolute surprise I found out that all the towels were removed from the locker room and you had to request it at the front desk. There, I found out that each person can only get ONE towel. I asked for the second towel multiple times but was refused. This is a signature Crunch location, and at the price I pay for the membership at the very least I expect to not have to beg for towels.

Nice but small gym. Friendly staff.
My favorite part is tourniquet for pull-ups and stretching area in the basement. Suggestion: Please add some jumping ropes and include some martial art classes, because all current classes mostly for girls. Cons: half of the reason joining Tribeca was steam room and sauna. But unfortunately steam room is always closed and sauna is never hot/not even warm. Also why people in the sauna in outdoor shoes(((Please make sauna hotter/ it is not working properly and please write on the steam room’s door estimated opening day, so we can plan ahead. If you’re planning to do any maintenance also please write the notice on the door / like MTA notices in the subway / so people can plan. Why towels are outside of the locker room? Towels are literally in front of women’s lockers. Question: which crunch gym CURRENTLY has BOTH WORKING steam room and sauna? Please help me, I don’t want to pay 250 for equinox. Thank you.

Facilities were good. No complaints. I just don't like how they do business. I went there to do one day pass and the lady who showed me around persuaded me join the club because they were offering promotion. I told her I needed to check another gym before I made a decision. She compared the membership fees and said Tribeca is cheaper because of the promotion. She also said she didn't know if the other gym was offering the same promotion. I learned it was so obvious all the crunch fitness centers offered the same promotion because I found it on the first page of the website. It is impossible she didn’t know that. As I wanted to check another branch, she kept asking me to join all gym access membership, which is more expensive. She also said the other gym is lower tier than Tribeca one. I checked the gym yesterday and found out it was newer, cleaner, and much more spacious. I decided to join the other one. I think each branch compete each other or employees get commission or something when they bring people. But, I was really upset after I did little bit research and found out she lied to me. Hope this doesn't happen again.

It's usually empty and I like how clean it is but the one drawback for me is that 25 dollar guest fee. For economics sake I pay 80 a month (which is od I know) to have access to any crunch, their towels, their showers and sauna - but now since covid hit I don't go to any other crunch and I can't use their auxillary benefits. In comparison you can go to blink for 20 dollars and bring one guest free whenever - see the math discrepancy? It's a nice facility but the cost to benefit ratio during a pandemic is absolutely not worth it. Like I'm not going to pay 25 dollars every time my dad wants to go but I know my dad won't go by himself to justify paying 60 a month for his membership.

Crunch Tribeca is a well maintained three story gym. I joined shortly after they reopened after being shutdown for covid. They are taking the cleaning, social distancing and mask wearing very seriously. You get your temperature checked when you arrive and you scan yourself in and out to avoid contact with staff members. There are plenty of cleaning stations around the gym for you to clean your equipment before and after use. Everyone is mandated to wear masks and to keep them on at all times. This hasn’t been a problem for anyone because this isn’t Florida. I feel very safe and comfortable at this gym and I’m so happy I joined!

I have been a member of Crunch for 19 years, so one may say I'm prejudiced in its favor. I say this because gym experience is a subjective one, with some people emphasizing the locker room amenities, others, the quality of the machines, yet others, their interactions with staff members. I have been a group fitness student in most of Crunch locations and definitely feel at home in any of them. Locker rooms aren't luxurious but you have lots of clean towels, shampoo, conditioner in the shower stalls, and lotion and mouth wash by the sinks, as well as magnifying mirrors, blow dryers and things like q-tips and cotton balls. You can use any available locker with your own lock or rent one from Crunch. There is a variety of excellent classes to pick from. The music playing inside the gym may get loud or not be to your liking but then, it's a miniscule inconvenience in my opinion. The only real negative for me is that prices keep going up every year, so paying for your membership up-front for 2 years, and asking for a few months as a reward is how you can save a lot of money because even if the rates go up during the 2 years of your existing contract, it doesn't affect you.

I went to this location for half a year. Now that I moved into an apartment with a gym I no longer needed to come here.

However, this place had ample amount of machines in the morning and the locker room, shower and sauna were all very clearn at all times.

The people who work here all seems great. If I moved to a place without a gym, I would come back.

Great gym! They've made very good use of the space and have everything you need for a good workout with strength and cardio training. Adam, the general manager made this Ohio guy feel welcomed and appreciated. The rest of the staff were professional and courteous.

Well maintained, clean, with lots of equipment and lots of classes to choose from. Does not get overly crowded like the other gyms in Manhattan.

Liked this place for weightlifting. Not so much for aerobic because no spinning cycling machines.

One of the smaller Crunch gyms with nice amenities you’ll never get to enjoy. The cleaning staff essentially closes down the showers between 5 & 7 pm. There is usually a line to get into the 2 showers in there (if they have soap). It’s nice they have a sauna and steam (usually closed for cleaning). Forget about relaxing since the cleaning crew seems to love to yell across the showers and locker room at each-other. The gym floor itself is fairly clean other than the weights that are never re-racked. The music seems to be a mix of “Waiting for tonight” Random black eyed peas, and anything else you might hear at a bad wedding. And yes you will hear it over your headphones.

The gym is very clean, not crowded and good selection of equipment. The ONLY thing I wish they would do (and easily make this a 5* gym) is add another squat rack next to the existing one. One squat rack is simply not enough, and there is plenty of space!

Crunch gyms vary. This is pretty new with well maintained equipment and good space for classes and cardio / CrossFit activities. The weight room is a little limited (1 squat rack, no Smith machine, lacking specialized equipment), but will cover the basics. It has enough benches and a good range of weights (just wished they were hexagonal so that they don’t roll away). Crowd is polite.

Price is a little high for the amount of gym you actually get. The changing rooms are nice, but the people that clean the facility clean whenever and causes a slippery surface and trip hazards.

Good location. Clean. I always like to see what the NYC locations will look like and this on did not disappoint. Creative way to lay out a gym in an urban location. Very large class room as well.

The best gym locker room I've ever experienced - somehow lacks humidity and is full of space and comfort. An overall great gym with a great staff!

No enough equipment for all classes, but the group fitness class is large. Nice having the option of a sauna, but it doesn't get too hot. Not a fan of the weights area at all--there isn't much space for free-weight work.

Friendly front desk staff and management!! I came here during Jury Duty and was amazed by how helpful and welcoming the staff was. Especially Rebecca and Rick. I enjoyed access to there showers (soap, shampoo and mouthwash available in house!) and towel service. The equipment is modern and clean. If I lived in the Tribeca area I would have no problem making this place my home gym!
