It’s a good gym, used to be better but they oversold memberships and it’s PACKED most of the time with almost every machine taken. AND the fly machine has been broken for a while with no sign of fixing it. Should be discounting membership or allowing us to use other equinoxes since it’s the most popular machine.

Why am I waiting in line for machines at a gym I pay a ridiculous amount of money for? Not for serious lifters because why is there one smith machine and one leg press? “Low traffic location” “functional training location” yah right. I got better bang for my buck at 57th street complete body and it is literally an apartment gym (in fact I love that gym and would happily transfer back if I lived closer). Do not join this gym if you want a proper workout, only join if you do cardio and weight circuits in the corner.
The only thing I like about this gym is that the trainers are nice and the basement lighting is cool. And I can shower here.

Signed up end of March and since then? Constant elevator outages, hot water issues, and broken machines everywhere. Only one fly machine for the entire gym. It’s a joke. I brought these problems to the GM — he brushed me off like I was an inconvenience. No follow-up, no accountability. Hours change without warning. Weekend nights? Packed at 7pm and they shut the doors. Nearly $300 a month for this? I’m done. Save your money this club is falling apart under a GM who shouldn’t be in charge of a mop.

Top tier equinox facility. I love their functional fitness floor. All their trainers are friendly, as is the front desk staff and all are very helpful. The cleaning staff does a great job at keeping it clean and well run.
Management switches up the equipment location and removes equipment sometimes and doesn’t inform the trainers. The staff and the people working here are wonderful.

Almost one week that this equipment is out of service and still not ready to use it.
We pay more than $300 to wait their good will to fix it. Details: there is only one of this equipment in the unit.
And in the mens locker room has a shower out of service more than 4 days in a row with water coming out unstoppable.
That’s insane!

This location has an interesting layout spread across multiple floors. There was an impressive number of quality treadmills but the placement of the weight machines made me feel claustrophobic with everyone on top of each other. I didn’t attend a class but the multiple studios looked well equipped and spacious. Overall, it is a nice Equinox with friendly staff but is not a gym I’d go out of my way to visit unless it was situationally convenient.

I have been an equinox member with access to all locations for a few years now, and I mostly love my membership. This was the first time I have been to this location, and it was just the worst experience for an equinox facility. One of the yoga instructors weirdly solicited their private classes to me, and to top of it off, someone swiped my AirPods after 5 minutes withy eyes off them. When I inquired about them at the front desk, a woman at the front desk was extremely rude to me. There was a guest yelling and cursing on the phone in the lounge area - it was wild. I will not be going back to this location.

I signed up this gym mainly because of convenience for my work.
However, their policy of using guest passes are not convenient at all. The restrictions make it almost impossible to use them conveniently.
When asked why, the response was “it is our policy “ not even an explanation of why they even have this policy.
Very disappointing

During my short stay in NYC, I decided to visit Equinox East 92nd to get a proper workout, and it certainly did not disappoint. The gym is well-equipped with top-of-the-line equipment that caters to all fitness needs.
I was particularly impressed with the lowest level of the gym. The equipment selection here is outstanding, providing everything needed for a comprehensive workout. The lighting on this level is also perfect, creating an energizing and motivating atmosphere.
Overall, Equinox East 92nd offers a premium fitness experience that’s hard to beat. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this gym is a fantastic choice for a great workout. Highly recommended!

The gym is clean and offers a lot of equipment due to its size. However, The personal trainers and managers are not prompt in getting back to you on time with arising matters. It’s like pulling teeth to get in touch and for things to be sorted. The amount of times they increase the price is absurd and their service does not match these prices. It’s a lot of money to work out here, especially if you have a trainer The service should match how much you pay. It is definitely a money grab.

I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience at Equinox - 92nd St. Despite paying a premium price for a "high-end" gym, I've witnessed appalling treatment from the staff, unacceptable facilities, and a clear lack of concern for customer well-being.
The staff is blatantly biased and unprofessional, showing favoritism to certain members while treating others with disdain. I've also witnessed employees speaking very rudely to members.
The women's locker room is a health hazard. I've seen blood on the floor multiple times, and recently, someone was smoking in the shower! The facilities are consistently dirty and poorly maintained.
To top it off, one of the elevators has been broken for months, forcing members to wait an extremely long time to use the facilities. This is unacceptable, especially for a gym that claims to cater to high-end clients.
Overall, Equinox 92nd Street fails to meet even the basic standards of a decent gym, let alone a premium one. Until they address these issues and train their staff to treat all members with respect, I would strongly advise against joining.
Do not waste your money or time on this gym!

You can’t talk to customers rudely. Plain and simple.
I work out here as a guest under my sister’s account who pays the monthly subscription. I was minding my own business doing a quick cooldown this morning when one of the trainers comes up to me and asks me if I’m here for the class. I said “no” and she aggressively and rudely responds, “We have a class going on in here in 2 minutes so you have to get out of here!” She saw that I was speechless and she follows up her rude behavior with another rude comment “We’re literally starting in 2 minutes.” Although frustrated, I calmly walked out of that workout room without saying anything.
Again, I’m just a guest here so I don’t keep track of all the class times. Additionally, there’s nothing posted on the door of the room (“Class in session”, or a schedule) where they do the classes in order to indicate that something is going on. Additionally, there were only 3 or 4 people in there at the time just chilling so I didn’t think anything was happening. Normally that room is packed with 20/30 people for each class. If the room had more people or a class was going on, I wouldn’t have gone in there.
I shouldn’t be treated like a teenager who is loitering or trespassing. You can’t talk to customers like that. Plain and simple.

I am a member with Equinox and honestly the gym membership is worth every single penny!
The spa services, gym equipment, classes, and the Kiehl’s hair and body products are what sets this gym membership apart from other gyms.
This staff and the impeccable cleanliness of each gym is amazing! Also, they have juice bars and if you ever need additional workout clothes some of the equinox have stores inside.
If you sign up after reading this review use me as a referral!
I recommend getting the destination package so you can enjoy amenities at the other gym. Trust me it’s worth every penny … start your membership today! You will not be sorry!

Someone needs to fix this elevator. I can’t believe it has been out of service for few weeks. What if an emergency happens. Today I had to wait 6min before it arrived, and finally we were 10 ppl trying to fit in a small space. This waist of our time. I think the manager should compensate us and reimburse us some of what we pay.

Equinox 92nd Gym offers a fitness experience that goes beyond the ordinary, and my recent experiences with their Spin and Precision Running classes on Fridays have been nothing short of exceptional. The Spin class immerses you in an energetic atmosphere with motivating music and dynamic instructors who push you to reach your fitness goals while having a blast.
The Precision Running class by Coach Shwakey on the other hand, provides a meticulously curated running program that focuses on technique, endurance, and speed. The combination of these classes not only challenges your body but also leaves you feeling invigorated and accomplished.
The instructors are knowledgeable, supportive, and create a sense of community among participants, making every session enjoyable. Additionally, Equinox Gym's facilities are top-notch, with modern equipment, clean amenities, and a welcoming environment. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey, Equinox Gym's Spin and Precision Running classes on Fridays are a must-try for anyone looking to elevate their workout routine.

John, Martin, Christian, Ebony...all amazing trainers. Top notch. Watching them with clients and working with John and Martin has boosted my self esteem. Seeing them remain humble in such a prestige gym is top notch service. They are engaging, considerate, effective, humble, efficient, and respectful. They have more faith in their clients than the clients probably have in themselves. As much as I despise working out, I enjoy coming in and feeling encouraged to move forward. John is my personal trainer, but ben when he is not around, the others always say a few words of encouragement (especially at 7am when I do NOT want to be there). If you're looking for a prestige gym, with professional but down to earth staff, look no further!

I will happily travel 45 min by train and bus one-way to go to this location on a weekend. Doesn’t feel overcrowded to me in the locker / gym area on a Saturday from 11am-2pm when I go.
Shoutout to the front desk staff who are so friendly and helpful every time I have a question or issue (and I don’t feel stupid for asking). This is one of my favorite Equinox clubs in NYC because the front desk staff are so nice - even though not my home gym - plus I like James’ barre classes here a lot as someone who appreciates the musicality aspect in group fitness, moving to the beat of music, while doing low-impact exercises blended with ballet, easy to follow yet challenging, and James style is motivational, strict but not aggressive, and creative with the combinations of moves. I have a ton of fun in his class every time

Really disappointed in Equinox. I have been a huge fan for the past 6 years, always an all-access member when I lived in NY (left for a year when I had to leave the state and no Equinoxes were around), and referred several people to the club. I even wrote a glowing review about their customer service a few years ago.
Now the management just blows you off like they don't care about you. I had to stop my membership after the pandemic due to medical reasons, and was excited to return to an all-access membership when I was healthy enough to return. Despite talking to a few different membership advisors prior to joining again, not ONE person told me that they had sneakily changed the all-access membership to include fewer clubs. I found out only after I tried to go to one of the locations I used to go to regularly and the app wouldn't let me book. I called to see if they would grandfather me into the former all-access locations, given that I have been a loyal member for so many years, and the woman I finally got to speak with on the phone basically laughed in my face and told me smilingly that there was nothing they could do for me. I would never have rejoined all-access had I known they had decreased the number of included locations, and now it's clear they don't care about their members when they punish you for trying to take care of your health.

What a scam! When I called in to end my one year membership, they’re holding my money of the time I’m freezing for a month in order so that I would spend another extra month there. If I’m freezing a month prior then I’m entitled to that amount back. Before you sign up for this gym, please triple think on how sticky it will be to get out… and they’re making it quite extremely hard to. Either way you’re gonna lose some more money than you’d initially thinking you’d spend.
Equinox if you see this, please refund my money from the month that I froze.

Well equipped for both weightlifting and crossfit, unlimited free classes included in the price (currently $270/month including tax, 12 month subscription). VERY clean showers/restrooms. They try to upsell their personal training services pretty heavily in the beginning but you it's easy to ignore if you're not interested. But if you do need PT, there's a dozen different coaches for different needs.

Purposefully chose an "all levels welcome" class.
Half way through the class the instructor, Esco, started lecturing and calling out a beginner (they seemed to be having issues with some poses, and going into child pose).
This went on for a few minutes from across the whole room and the instructor pointed and said "I'm talking to you in the [description of clothing]". The interaction felt inappropriate (especially for a yoga class, but even so for a HIIT class or similar), it wasn't words of encouragement but as if they were trying to belittle the student rather than help. Most instructors set a welcoming and supportive tone for their classes. Why not go over to the student and ask quietly if they were ok/needed modifications?
This completely distracted me for the remainder of the class and sullied the experience.

DO NOT JOIN this gym. If you have to join equinox, there are different branches on the upper east side. There are also gyms from different companies in this area that are ranked 5 stars on Google reviews. The management at this branch is rude, dishonest and not solution-oriented. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but if you have an issue with billing, management, specifically Diego, treats you like garbage, talks down to you for asking simple questions about your account, such as, “how much credit do I have on my account?” He will not answer you, and then when he turns his back, a staff member will whisper it to you. Equinox at 92nd St, why is this your business practice? Why is this ok? Please hire new management — it’s not just Diego, it’s across the board— and make back any Covid losses the honest way, by being good at what you do and increasing recruitment.

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. The customer service is insulting. After over a decade of being an equinox member at various different locations, the manager at this location refuses to speak with me and has not lived up to his word. I'm not comfortable going back since covid began - I emailed them I'd like to quit and they continued to charge me every month. I finally told the credit card company to block them but they won't refund me for the months they charged me even though the manager said he would. I have emails to back all of this up. 10 years of membership and this is the way you get treated. The person I dealt with was Dhyago Figueroa. You do NOT want to work with him or join this gym!

Hello,
I am visiting New York for 3 months as an international student. The studio in general is good. It's big and offers different places to exercise. For me personally, as a hardcore gym rat, some things were missing, but otherwise everything was great.
Unfortunately I only give the studio one point because the management and the way they're dealing with the customers is very bad and miserable. Since I'm only here for 3 months as an international student, I only agreed to the contract so that I could easily leave at any time. Cause obviously, my Visa is limited and I can not stay any longer. Thats what I agreed on with the Salesperson. I think that makes sense.
After voicing my concerns about the lack of equipment and my experiences, the Management Assistant offered me to put myself on the guest lists of other clubs so I can check them. Unfortunately I didn't have the time and the month was coming to an end. So I decided to quit again.
After I submitted my notice of termination, my emails were no longer answered. Even after calling several times the club and being in the studio. Until I then put on a new mail.
A standard response followed and I was asked why I wanted to leave and all of a sudden I had to submit documents for a normal termination process - although an exception was made and this was confirmed even by herself. Furthermore, sending a standard response, and not reading the concerns of your customers, is very impolite and shows that nobody cares.
However, I've been waiting again for an answer for over 6 weeks now. I also called the concierge, but still nothing has happened. Therefore, I recommend everyone who registers here to enjoy the offer with caution. Especially if you're just visiting NYC like I do.
Its more than absurd to me, as Equinox is advertising as a Luxury Upper Class Gym, but has such a bad customer handling. You pay so much money, and didn't even get customer oriented appropriate solution support. Ridiculous.
Best,
Max

Also, I'v been paying full membership fees despite the club not offering the bulk of their services. I totally understand the need to adjust due to covid, but to charge the same price is ludicrous. Nice, Well Equipped, and Not Very Busy.
Visited Equinox 92nd after work and was glad to learn that the gym was spacious and plenty of room to workout efficiently.
There is a CROSSFIT Heaven in the basement on the functional training level. Everything you need and want is down there.
Well stocked and clean bathrooms. The only thing missing is back machines. There are on a few in the gym.
