This could be the worst equinox in the entire city and I’m looking forward to sharing why.
Let’s start with the worst offenses-
I came in to train and needed a tissue because of my allergies- I went directly to the juice bar (which is outside of the entrance to the gym and the front desk person chased me down as if I was some intruder trying to break in) that was pretty rude/ annoying… but not as annoying as the fact that not a single Personal Trainer here seems to know where equipment is or belongs such as a tib bar- and I’ve had them send me up and down to try and find this elusive thing that they should know about- the worst part is the trainers could say hey I don’t know what that is, but instead of saying that they just sent me to find it in some other part of the gym lol.
Another time I booked a yoga class here and the teacher never showed up and I think a random trainer ended up teaching (they did great considering the circumstances but that was unprofessional and we started incredibly late) I would have left and done strength training but they insisted someone was on their way. (We wish.)
I don’t know I feel bad writing this because I like equinox but this gym and the people who work here are so unwilling to help… it sucks and people should know.
I’ve included a photo of the tib bar (just kidding) they still have my looking for it lol
The one positive thing that I love about this club is that there’s always people from the circus training here which helps bring some joy—though at this point, it’s hard to tell who is who- between the rudeness, confusion, and wild goose chases for basic equipment, the whole place feels like a three-ring circus—minus the charm. I’m also certain that actual clowns are far more professional.

Just moved in the city and trying to find a new gym. Previously belonged to another equinox location. After waiting 20 min past my appointment time and before even showing me a tour, the manager shoves a credit card form in my face. Tells me a tour doesn’t matter because it’s an all inclusive gym for all locations. Then refuses to let me workout for the day - when all other locations allow it before committing to a membership - unless I buy a pass for $50 or signup for a membership. She was extremely rude. I’m an active buyer and will be crossing this location off the list.

Beware of your safety at Equinox. While I was in the middle of a cardio workout, an internal chain in the machine I was using snapped. I was sent flying off the machine and injured myself. Equinox treated me like a liability and did little to convince me I could trust them or their equipment, so I chose to terminate my membership. There are other luxury gyms in the city that are better.

The layout is dysfunctional. You're gonna have to be going up and down the floors almost constantly during your session. There also aren't enough ropes for the pulldowns.
The lockers are the best I've ever seen. They have little compartments so you can organize your belongings neatly. The steam room is decently sized and comfortable. The hair dryers are missing the flat end attachments. And weirdly, the knob for my shower control was installed backwards. Water pressure is good though.
Aesthetically the place looks very nice and charming. In terms of functionality, it's not so great.

We had a very poor experience trying to get basic info about the gym over the phone. First time we called they transferred us to some line where some guy was muttering and cursing in the background and didn’t answer our call. Second time we called they said they won’t give us any info about gym pricing until we provide all our personal info. None of the other gyms we inquired with in the area behaved this way.

Equinox's decision to to board up all windows has made the gym significantly worse.
By replacing the once great windows with a giant mural of a shoulder, zero light can get in, and zero views of the outside are available from inside, and the space feels crowded even when only a few people are there.
It is worth noting that Equinox contracts are very difficult to get out of, so the company can't rely on things like "immediate cancellations" from members like me to measure their decision to eliminate the windows.
Given the measurement challenge that their contract process creates, it would be useful if Equinox would survey its members about their decision to eliminate the windows at this location.

I had the pleasure of touring this Equinox Flatiron location as I was hoping to pursue a membership. Just a heads up- memberships are an annual commitment which is why I personally was unable to join. The facility was clean, not crowded, and beautiful.
My roommate and I toured with Derek. He was incredibly kind, patient, and explained to us all the offerings. If you’re considering joining, ask for Derek. He wasn’t one of those pushy ambassadors that freaks you out and makes you want to leave immediately. Derek took the time with us to explain all the facility and workout classes available.
The locker rooms were stocked with Kiehl products which was awesome, but overall that was the one area where I was expecting more. The four floors sectioned by workout type and giant mirrors however made up for the lackluster locker rooms. Additionally, Derek explained how this is one of the more prominent locations and is built inside a beautiful architected old building, but everything inside is completely new.
Thank you so much Derek and the Equinox team for a great touring experience! I hope to join the gym if I get the chance in the future.

I will preface that I had an enjoyable experience and good amenities at this Equinox location BUT I got my Movado watch stolen here, as well.
While the staff were wonderful with getting back to me early and checking the lockers, it is still unfortunate that there were dishonest staff/passerbys around to take a non-smart watch.
Speaking with a few friends, having things stolen from lockers is a common occurence...
That being said, I do enjoy my workouts here even when it gets busy- there are a lot of available and various machines. The steam room is A+ as are the eucalyptus cold towels :)

Equinox Flatiron, a temple of sweat and toil, an oasis in the heart of the city's madding crowds. Its walls a shrine to the pursuit of physical excellence, where one may shed the shackles of sedentary life and forge a body like tempered steel.
The air is thick with the scent of eucalyptus towels, a musk of salt and iron, as one is bathed in the radiant glow of the sun, shining in through the high windows of this holy place. The machines gleam like so many instruments of torture, but in truth they are the tools of transformation, where the flabbiness of the flesh is burned away, leaving nothing but muscle and sinew.
The trainers, too, are a breed apart, sages of the science of sweat, dispensing wisdom and encouragement with each set. They are the guardians of the sacred fire, urging one to push past their limits, to lift that extra rep, to run that extra mile. And in the end, one is left feeling not simply fitter, but finer, a better version of themselves, forged in the crucible of Equinox Flatiron, almost deserving of the Destination classification.
If one thing could be improved at this location, it’d be the steam rooms (a bit small).

Ok, so as a disclaimer, I'm posting these reviews for my reference. I have an All Access Membership, and I want to visit as many of these as I can, to see which one I like most/would like to go to.
My interests are powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, swimming, so my review will be geared towards that.
For comparison's sake, I have been to the following so far:
Equinox West 92nd
Equinox West 76th
Equinox Highline
Equinox East 63rd
Equinox Columbus Circle
Equinox Park Avenue
It's a pretty good one, out of the ones I have been to so far. The Shop is small but simple. Four floors, each one is well designed, so it doesn't feel like it's too crowded. Plenty of deadlift platforms and squat racks.

Pretty awful place, you have to line up for everything - to get a locker, use equipment, take a shower. It’s very very busy and changing rooms are often dirty, none of which make it a ‘premium’ experience worth paying this much for. The only reason it’s not 1* is that the trainers are really nice.

***FRAUD***
I recommend uttermost caution when dealing with the personnel: they conduct fraud by charging several hundreds of dollars extra!
I needed to terminate my membership due to moving abroad, which I did in a written form and provided written evidence. They replied by telling me the term of notice the remaining bill. However, after checking my US account I noticed that they never cancelled the membership and have been charging the membership fee for months, totaling hundreds of dollars. When requesting my money back they deny any misconduct and refuse to return my money. Also, assistant general manager with whom I have been dealing is extremely hostile. I highly recommend to avoid these crooks!

Tony, the membership advisor of Equinox Flatiron, completely ruined my Equinox experience. There was a miscommunication with my membership access level and he made me feel completely unheard and lesser than any members of the Flatiron gym because my pass said I had a “select” membership.
It would have been acceptable for Tony to have tried to understand my concern and work with me on a solution, but he instead completely neglected my viewpoint and my overall experience

Hey guys.
Let me give you a few lines of background before o go into details about my rating.
I work close to this location and I was looking for a gym that allowed me to go from work to workout. Equinox had an online offer on Facebook which called my attention so I told to myself why not? At least I can get some information about pricing and thought it wouldn’t hurt. Boy was I wrong.
I’m giving this Equinox one star based on my experience with the customer service, which was the only thing I got to explore. The agent assigned to me, Aicardo Rivera, needs to work on his salesmanship A LOT. I’m basing this rate on:
1. Attentiveness / time to respond or follow up
2. Pitch
3. Product knowledge
4. Tone
5. Overall satisfaction
1. Attentiveness / time to respond: this is why I am giving the star. I was contacted within minutes after I filled the online form. In the day that followed, I also received several call and text messages inviting me to the facilities.
2. Pitch: started with a very bad foot when Aicardo asked “why were you calling for?”. First of all, I am the one receiving the call (?) also, you made me fill a form with very specific questions to help you pitch me, including (for what I can remember of the verbiage) “what would be the determinant factor for joining?” Or something like that. That gave me the idea that not only didn’t take the time to read through the information I was giving but also that he didn’t care for the customer, he cared for the sale. Nope.
3. Product knowledge: to be fair, I didn’t give him a fair chance because I said from the get-go that I couldn’t stop by a tour that day. However, he dispatched me so easily that then again, gave me the impression he was going for the sale. Which is fine, I mean it is a business after all, but you get more when you are able to hold people’s attention. Nope again.
4. Tone: this is where I took the decision to not make business with this facility. Like I said, I was contacted after via email, phone and text messages. The last message I got from Aicardo said, and I quote “What made you reach out if you weren't interested?” This was a deal breaker. Not only he is making assumptions (because I was interested) but also, why would you ask that way to a potential client? Aicardo, if you are reading this, here’s an alternative for that message in case you feel the urge to send it to someone else: “no problem! Just let me know when you are available to stop by and I can show you around and explain the promotion we may have for that day”. Lastly, what kind of question is that? How is this going to help you understand your customers better? Step it up, buddy. Nope and nope and nope.
5. Overall satisfaction: I have to admit, I kind of knew walked in to this one myself. The online form is long and apparently they are not using it for its purpose. Even though I knew what I was getting into when I said “I’ll contact you back” and I knew I was going to receive a million calls, emails and texts, I would have had a better experience if now I was the one with the power of decision. After all, the ball was in my court, wasn’t it? And even then, the staff manages to be extremely rude? NOOOOOOOPE.
Will I ever make business with Equinox? Who knows? Maybe. Will I ever make a deal with this facility? Probably not.

A solid 4 stars for this location.
Great facilities that are clean and well maintained.
Large locker room with showers, steam and fresh towels. All the requisite Kiehls products included.
The front desk staff is nice. There's a juice press here that serves juices, coffee and lite snacks.
This facility is 4 levels of fun with yoga and boxing studios.
Conveniently located in the popular flatiron district. Check this place out!

Great gym. I liked their interior renovations a little over a year ago. Feels luxurious. One problem with this gym is that it tends to get overcrowded. They should open another location next to Madison Square Park.

The one star is actually for the Juice Press located at the front of the gym. Every time I come here the staff either has an excuse not to make my drink (today it was because they were stocking the fridge and cannot make drinks while stocking...what?), or they are resentful and passive aggressive about it. I usually end up going to the Juice Press on 5th and 22nd because of how uncomfortable I feel. Maybe it’s because I stop by after my workout at 8pm when they are checked out (they close at 9pm btw) but this is also the only Equinox location that makes me feel this way. You guys should get some customer service tips from the Juice Press on 22nd!

Annie the Juice press chef was very kind and talented on making my blue magic juice. I highly recommend this location as it tops service and yummies juices in the city.

Seems to be a trend here in how they treat their customers. My experience was no different.

This location bums me out. After switching from the pristine Brookfield location, this spot seems really over-crowded, with 4 tiny floors and really old machines. I love Equinox gyms, but this location is uninspiring.
