My boss gave me a free pass to use at this gym, and when I showed it to the front desk, the staff were classist with me and denied me entry with absurd excuses.

I've been an Equinox All Access member for nearly 12 years now. This is one of my favorite locations. There are a lot exercise equipment on the various floors and a lot of space to stretch on the 2nd & 3rd floors. I have 2 complaints. (1.) Men's steam room is small. (2.) In the 12 years, as a member, yesterday was the first time I had an item stolen. A club member or employee stole my prescription sunglasses from the men's locker room.

The front desk staff was helpful and provided me with the proper form to fill out.

Its okay, but the music is waaayy too loud, making it hard to get any work done in the work space, as well as listen to your own music during a workout. All the vanity mirrors in the women locker room are also broken and hanging, and they haven't been fixed for months.

I have an all-access membership, so I can go to any Equinox. Overall, everything looks good as it is their newest location in Manhattan The gym has multiple levels, but don’t expect much in terms of views or natural light. The locker room is pretty small. The best aspect of the place is the staff, who are very friendly. They do have a few tables for people to work at, but I wouldn't enjoy working from this location.

Edit: back 5 days later broken equipment still not removed.

Original: Nomad has been open for months now. I have alerted staff multiple times that their massage guns are broken, and they still havent even removed them (let alone replace). These are products they sell in their own lobby. When i first let them know it was only a couple. Now its more than half of them. So members continue to pick them up a hundred of times a day just to learn theyre broken 🤷🏼‍♂️

I would still say equinox is the best gym chain in the price range. But the membership dues keep rising and their attention to detail seems to be declining.

The ones in the video were in the cradle they havent held a charge for months.

I’ve been going here since it opened. This is the cleanest gym I’ve ever seen. The equipment is great. Lately it’s been getting busier so I may switch to Lifetime.

I wanted to write about the tour / sales rep experience along with my actual experience at the gym. I was assigned to meet with Scott but he was apparently out so I got Marcos. It was easy to book online through the website and it was nice to take advantage of the holiday sale where they waive the initiation fee. Upon entering the lobby, I loved how nice the lobby is, great place to relax , take a phone call and recuperate with their nice lounge chairs with plenty of tables. Concierge was so nice. Marcos seemed nervous when he greeted me, and kinda is gave me vibes that he was judging me upon first appearance, which is human nature but its safe to say that i did not fit their typical customer mold of being a hot athlete or rich finance bro/chick. Nonetheless I made it a point that i am postpartum and have a modest goal of working out 3 times a week with some cardio and group classes in mind. The facility itself was beautiful with a comprehensive map showing what equipment and studios are on each floor. The equipment easily is worth 25k, it was nicely organized, and each floor was being cleaned 24.7. There is plenty of space to lift weights, a stretch area, and plenty of cardio machines that are state of the art and not on top of each other. The studios are amazing, it is so nice to have all the equipment and mats you need already with their easy to use equinox plus app to book classes 26 hours in advance. Loved that they do spin classes too. There is also good reformer Pilates studio for those who want 1 on 1 private classes. The spa looks really relaxing and very cozy, i would totally take a nap in there. The scented towels and water stations are also a big plus. What annoyed me with sales is they don't go over billing questions like how to do i freeze or cancel , what are the plus and minuses of doing a membership at on location versus passport which can get you into cool places like Hudson yards. i also got no explanation about how to contact billing, but reviews show concierge as the domain to contact so when I brought it up he agreed that was the route to go. It also is not clear why some places cost more than others along with what day passes or guest passes you can use. He also didn’t volunteer that you can upgrade or downgrade/freeze membership anytime. There was a big push to book their fancy personal training packages and go with the free fitness test which probably leads to big lectures about why you need to book a trainer. Seemed like Niko was a popular trainer he used himself. You can easily expect to spend an extra 2k on these types of trainers on top of the hefty 285 you pay a month. Even when you workout in the gym you will see trainers look at you like a hawk hoping to connect with you as a potential client. Really awkward. I guess they all make commission off of these things. Either way expect an amazing workout in the classes, so much to choose from between barre, cycling, running, rowing, strength training, yoga, heated yoga, Pilates, ab workouts, the list goes on and on. I have thoroughly enjoyed each class and yes instructors are hardcore from like Penn State, but they really give it their all. When that is all done, you can enjoy their amazing steam room with clean showers, and amazing grown alchemist skin care products. i also appreciate their high end hair tools, hair ties, shaving razors and hair ties- its also nice that they have good lotions after you shower and plenty of stations to sit and change or do your makeup. I do wish this place had a pool/jacuzzi or dry sauna. lockers are also kind of small, but no lock is needed. You can take advantage of their coat check near the locker rooms. Overall, it is safe to say that this gym is worth the money and has the luxury perks but it is probably not the top equinox location- it has the potential though!

Very odd that the shop is close on weekends by 12 , you literally can’t buy a water even let alone smoothie or food. Also the locker is room is so tiny you can barely change without being overly close to someone. They basically just put a bunch of nice chairs in the lobby and made this a destination gym

This club is awful and not at all worth $300 a month. I was told when I joined that it was “never crowded” but that was a lie — this is one of the MOST crowded gyms I’ve ever been to, much more than a regular bodybuilding gym.

More importantly, there’s a bunch of facility issues they constantly attempt to cover up. There was water damage in the first floor ceiling that tore a hole through it. I constantly receive emails about water outages throughout the club (shower and drinking water). We were kicked out once because the lights were flickering like crazy which I’m pretty sure is a electricity hazard. The basement fully SET ON FIRE once because of a dryer overheating and we had to be evacuated. I tried to attach photos but Google deleted my review unless I removed them.

I’ve heard from trainers that they are instructed by management to go up to random people and try to sell them sessions constantly. Why am I paying $300 to be bothered by trainers non-stop? They are also treated extremely poorly and pretty much exploited (only paid $20-30 a session for the first few months, even though Equinox charges ~$150) so good luck finding a trainer to work with who won’t quit after 2-3 months. I met a trainer once who quit after two days.

The “luxury customer service” they try to sell you is a complete lie. The sales people will tell you anything to try to get you to sign up, but once you’re in, you’re on your own. And it doesn’t feel like a luxury gym by any means, aside from the fact that the gym itself is pretty and the machines are nice. Everytime I’ve filed feedback for something in the past, it’s brushed over with the most flippant or ridiculous response — but no action.

The staff and front desk are amazing for the most part; I’ve met some people here who are great, but other than that my experience has been horrendous. I’m trying to speak to them currently on the basis of all aforementioned issues and am just being ghosted or given the runaround. This customer service isn’t even worth a dollar a month, much less $300. You’d get better customer service at a PF.

Everything is excellent in this looking, however, there seems to be a fault on the layout of this location. They have a co-working space in the front which is amazing and what makes this location one of the best. However, why didn’t they adjust the speakers on the front to be lower on volume ? I think they should be separate volume from the workout area. Also, why the heck is the volume so damn loud in the front when it’s 10am and you have people on the coworking area. I get it this is a gym, but I’m assuming they designed the coworking areas with that purpose in mind, but the music it’s just an issue.

So much has been good about this new gym EXCEPTTTTTT the cancellation policy and their unwavering stance. If your life circumstances change to where this gym no longer makes sense the fact that they are unwilling to allow you to part ways on any constellation beyond being “medically unfit or having moved 25 miles” from the gym location is pretty crazy. Zero courtesy for someone who loyally paid for a membership 3 months before the gym even opened and getting locked in to these UNREASONABLE CIRCUMSTANCES is WILDDDDD. 25 miles can extend to the next state and they still expect that this is sufficient enough to be a criterion for releasing a member from their membership regardless of their personal circumstances for wanting to end their membership. EXTREMELY INHOSPITABLE.

This location is very well spaced out over multiple floors and ranks as one of the better Equinoxes in Downtown Manhattan. The treadmills are on another level with charging stations and high quality screens for entertainment that immensely upgrade your workout. The main exercise studio is spacious and well supplied with different weights. It’s a bit crowded on Saturdays but nowhere near as atrocious as SoHo on any given day. The women’s locker room is immaculate and the only downside is the low water pressure of the showers. All in all this is one of my favorite Equinox locations!

Went to visit this location not long ago to check it out since it's new. The lightning is absolutely terrible. So bright luminescent white light it's super unpleasant and disturbing. That's modern new design to you in 2024? And combined with the green tone, it gives a hospital vibe. Didn't like it at all and not returning. A lot of location they need to do better in that regard and I see other people complaining about it as well. Use warm, yellow light and dimming options where necessary. Is that too much to ask? Check Tmpl or Crunch they do much better job in that regard to create cool atmosphere.

Equinox Nomad stands out exceptionally from EQX’s other locations. You can really tell they have invested in their entire TEAM from Management to the PT Team, The Membership Team and the front desk. The layout of the equipment was definitely thought out enabling yourself to multitask without being interrupted as well as being able to “work in” with other gym members. The highlight of Nomad for me is Brian K.
I was practicing my muscle ups and he offered his guidance making them look EFFORTLESS and since then I have been working with Brian on progressing my strength with his expertise in calisthenics. He is extremely passionate about calisthenics and it shows both in his programming and patience. It’s not a goal I can hit overnight therefore I am committed to mastering the muscle up with all the prep work and programming that it takes. Brian is a fantastic coach and I look forward to sharing my progress here in a few months time. I highly recommend Eqx Nomad and Brian K!

Amazing, the lobby is great for chilling.
There are plenty of squat racks which I miss at my other favorite Equinox gym “Hudson yards”. I can come here m at lunch time because it’s super close to my office and there is always space.
Only thing is that there could be a boxing room, which is a pity. Because when there are classes I cannot just go in and spar by myself. Missing that in HY too. All in all, love this newly opened gym so far.

Good amount of space across 4 floors, and solid diversity in equipment. Better than your average Equinox, but not quite a flagship location. New spot, so far so good. Very cool location, good looking people everywhere (some ugly ones, too!). The layout seems a little disorganized. They have folks power lifting and running on the treadmills right next to the plush lounge area where cool, young professionals sip their wheatgrass juice, staring at their laptops through their Warby Parker black frames. 🤓 I trained with Fanni. I really liked her no-nonsense approach and her knowledge of fitness is clearly master level. Also, I really like when the front desk greets me like they know me. For what they charge?? Sheeeeeet… I wouldn’t mind a little theme music for my entrance - maybe “so fresh, so clean” by Outkast!
