I would give this club 0 stars if I could. I was a member here for 2 years and the amount of issues we experienced were totally unacceptable for a club that charges 300 a month. Elevator was CONSTANTLY down, issues with water and maintenance, pool was nearly impossible to use due during peak times - not to mention how crowded the gym was all. the. time.
Management was incredible incompetent and unhelpful - seriously if you’re considering this place just don’t. I know there’s not a ton of options in this neighborhood since the NYSC closed but truly there is no way this gym justifies the ridiculously high fees

experience at printing house Equinox with Genieve Gordon: rudest instructor my 2 friends and I have ever met/taken a class with. I am by no means looking for a upbeat cheery instructor, but the least she could do is be happy to teach instead of getting mad (interrupting movement to raise her voice) at multiple people in the class, touching us without permission, turning your phone over even if you’re not using it and it’s on the floor, and throwing subliminal messages. She does not make the class enjoyable and our experiences were unanimously the worst. I’ve taken her again at Hudson Square by accident and she’s still the same. Dampens the experience and would not recommend.

Slowest elevator in Manhattan. Every time I come here, I legitimately spend about 10 minutes total either waiting for the elevator or stuck inside of it. The elevator in my office building to the 39th floor is faster.
The other times I come here, the elevator is completely broken down.
Update: I’ve been going to this location for three years and the elevator situation has never improved. It is regularly out for maintenance and some days there is no email from equinox stating the elevator is out of service. So you show up to the gym and can’t access the locker rooms or showers. Horrible. And for the money we pay it’s downright insulting.

i have been requesting a slightly higher set of push up bars for months and they still have not honored my request even though literally every other equinox has them. i tried explaining this to the workers to which they were arguing with me saying they have them, and i kept trying to explain they do not have the higher version, they only have a short version and a huge version, not the ones that are slightly more off the ground like every other equinox. i met someone else in the gym and he said he’s been requesting them for years. honestly making me consider switching gyms. very annoyed.

I like that this location doesn’t play loud music at the pool. I just want to chill in peace and read a book in the sun without the beats drilling into my brain. The elevator is super slow though—it’s trying its best I guess.

I like this location, the roof deck and pool are solid, and staff are friendly. I enoy the cycling and Yoga classes. Alice, one of the personal trainers there, is top notch / she really knows her stuff, I did the Equifit and complimentary personal training session with her and she helped improve my overall fitness goals and posture during workouts

Love this club!
It would be perfect if you could join the rooftop waiting list remotely instead of waiting 1-2 hours at the club, and receive a text message instead of a call, like you do for restaurants on a waitlist.

I’ve always remembered this location as the weakest of the chain—not exactly a luxury gym, but it does have the perk of an outdoor pool. I came back recently as a guest on a Sunday and was turned away due to their no-guest policy on weekends during peak season, which is fair. However, I wasn’t even allowed to sit by the juice bar, which felt unnecessarily strict. The front desk attendant, who had bleached hair, was rude and dismissive—definitely not the level of customer service you’d expect from a gym at this price point.

It is fine, but not worth the cost. The equipment is not well maintained and the elevator is constantly broken, causing closures. They don't take care of the basics well and coast on the fact that they have a pool to justify the high (and rising) cost, without investing back into the club and it shows.
The bulk of this isn't the staffs fault, they do what they can, but there is only so much they can do

Equinox Printing House is hands down one of the best gym experiences in the city. The views from the rooftop pool and sun deck are unreal—you can literally soak in the Manhattan skyline while getting your workout in. The gym itself is super clean, well-maintained, and never feels too packed, which is a huge plus.
The advisors here are generally great, but Dom in particular deserves a shoutout. He actually cares about members and makes the whole experience feel more personal. It’s little things like that that make a gym worth the investment. If you’re looking for a spot that balances luxury, great vibes, and a killer view, this is it.

Been a member at Equinox Printing house for almost 2 years and it's truly my favorite. Although the gym is split between ground level and 9th & 10th floors, the rooftop pool and city views makes it all worth it. It's always well stocked with towels, etc. and there are constantly workers cleaning to make sure the space is kept exceptionally clean. I'm curious to see if a new juice bar will replace the old one downstairs!

Joined this location this past summer and have had a great experience thus far. Don’t bother with this place - the lift is literally always broken. You’ll pay membership fees for a gym you can’t access.

★ 2
Here is my two cents on the place:
1. Overcrowding is an issue during peak hours, making it hard to use machines or find space to stretch .
2. Classes fill up fast, requiring early booking.
3. Staff service is inconsistent, when issues arise or relayed to the front desk the guy who works at the front goes to a frenzy state.
4. Locker rooms sometimes run out of towels and infrequent water outage issues.
6. The elevator frequently breaks down, easily 3 times a week, and you can’t access the top floor where lockers, shower and cardio machine. They used to send emails to inform members and recently stopped (I guess they are either embarrassed or don’t care or both)
7. During elevator outage access to cardio equipment is not possible because the first floor cardio machines are occupied with classes.
8. High membership fees don't always match the quality of the gym’s upkeep.

Elevator is always broken, WITH DATES PROVIDED. I joined this gym when I moved to NYC this year. I read the comments about no water and elevator being broken. I asked them before I joined if this is still the case. They confirmed the elevator is fixed and has been working for months. You need the elevator, the gym is on the 1st and 9th floor

Elevators break two or three times a month, rendering the top floor (pool, locker rooms, 1/2 of equipment) inaccessible. Facilities are nice, but water and elevator are constantly breaking. At this point it’s literally a joke I have with friends who are also members, “did you see the elevator is broke, AGAIN?!?” Not a world class gym, and embarrassing they call this a destination location. The views from the roof and the pool are amazing, if you can get up there! Save your money, I would’ve cancelled months ago if I wasn’t locked in for a year. Needless to say, will not be renewing!

Very poor experience.
First of all, this gym is essentially split into 2 separate gyms, with one on the ground-level and the other on the 9th. floor. There can often be a lengthy wait for the elevator.
The gym is also extremely crowded.
Finally, and this is my primary criticism, the customer service is terrible. Prior to signing up, they will hound you non-stop. Once you've enrolled, good luck if you need any help from the staff.
Not what I expected given the outrageously expensive membership fees. There are better options in the neighborhood.

Sadly, this location has gone really far downhill. Let's start with the positives. The classes (when you can get in) and instructors are EXCELLENT! They are all top notch - there isn't one class I do not enjoy. The front desk staff, the head of fitness (Jamie), the trainers , Joanne in the locker room and having the juice press is all wonderful. This location is also 2 blocks from my home so super convenient. Now the negative. If you have a "normal" job (which I do not) getting into a class during the week during that isn't from 10:30-4 is next to impossible unless you set your alerts and grab it the second it becomes available. There is no room for uncertainty. 2 weeks ago, I was 36 on the waitlist for Barre class and 33 for a Pilates class. When you come off hours so you can get into a class you often can't use the stream room as it gets cleaned during the slower times. The pool (unheated and very cold) is finally open yet they no longer have Goop SPF for you to use. They formally had it prior to entering the roof deck and at the pool. Cost cutting measures no doubt. Getting 2 chairs on the weekends is as competitive and difficult as getting into a prime time class. The locker rooms in the evening used to have 2 attendants and the last 2 evenings I was they only had 1. The result is all showers now have tons of hair in them and are undesirable to enter. In addition, they changed all shower heads and water pressure has been cut 50%. Cost cutting measure once again and yet another? They took away our BELOVED KIEHL'S products and replaced with an inferior brand. Average rating of this brand online is a 3.9 and average rating for Kiehl's is 4.4. Not only is everyone in the locker room super bummed but the labeling is so bad that the white words on the bottle wash off and you cannot tell which product you are using. Body wash? Shampoo? Face wash? It's really super disappointing. The elevator here is out of service several times a year, year after year after year. Last night a group of us were stuck on the 9th floor and finally had to walk down to get out. Many times when it's out , the stairs/ elevators in the condo portion of the building are not available so that means no locker room/no roof deck / no pool and no equipment. I've asked for years for the TV's on the treadmills to match shows with the stations you pick but they have never remedied. Disney channel will be the news, ESPN will be cartoons etc. Its super annoying. I've been to Equinox gyms on the east side and they are PRISTINE. So clearly nicer and newer it makes you feel taken advantage of at the printing house location. And guess what? They keep signing up more members and they allow summer membership so classes get harder and harder to get into as does accessing the pool without having to sit on the concrete as lounge chairs are nearly impossible to get. With all this the price keeps going up and up and is now $275 a month. The clientele here (myself excluded) skews much younger than the other equinox gyms I've been to and Related must feel they are less likely to complain? The last 2 months it feels as if it was purchased by PE and they are doing what they can to slash overhead. One other nice thing - they finally replaced the stained cloth couch that has been downstairs for years. If the classes weren't so exceptional and this wasn't two blocks from my house I would quickly ditch my membership.

Ripped off !!! So I’ve been a member for 5 years and some employee at my location told me I could use this location , so I wanted to try different area . This pretentious girl at the front desk didn’t let me get in because she said I have unlimited access but this and 4 more locations . So what are you paying for then ? It’s not unlimited access then. What’s the difference with the other location ? The pool ?? So on top of that yesterday they told me I have to pay $320 for the updrading plus $150 per month . Today they say $250 for upgrading. Nothing she was explaining makes any sense . They just trying to take advantage of people clearly .., I went all the way there for nothing not even letting try that gym for once just being right there. Ridiculous !!!!!!!

Despite paying an extra $40 per month for this location, it is less clean, the staff is less friendly, the elevator sucks, the showers get cleaned during the busiest hour in the morning, there is too much unused equipment wasting space, and the pool was supposed to open on memorial day but there's no sign of it opening any time soon.
Altogether a poorly managed location.
I used to go to the 92 & Broadway Equinox, and that location was run beautifully.

Lets start with elevators don’t work several times a month it seems at this point. At first they would just tell us too bad sorry, no steam room, no locker rooms, no classes upstairs. Then after realizing they were in hot water they started walking people to another elevator which you had to walk flights of stairs still to access. Other customers were making comments and remarks about how ridiculous it is. And they had staff lined up to show you where to access the elevator. They are way over compensating for their lack of service in the first place. We don’t need people to point us places, we need functioning elevators and equipment. Management didnt return phone calls over upon complaints until I kept complaining to the point where I didn’t even want to talk to them anymore. They’re very aware of how they are. A guy at the front desk told me honestly I should probably cancel my membership bc they don’t have their ducks in a row. And he was probably the nicest and most helpful person. The women’s steam room is constantly closed and under repair. If there’s issues with the pipes FIX THEM. Lots of staff changes too which says a lot. I’d run for the hills and find another gym if I were you. Not worth $270/mo. by any means and definitely not a world class gym.

Pre-pandemic, this was a pretty good gym when Terry J. was the GM. It felt like there was actual pride in the facilities. Pride like you'd see in an army barracks or a navy ship.
But in the past year or two, it's gone down. Badly.
To wit: The equipment is dirty and scuffed. The incline bench press chair often slips down in the middle of a set of reps (dangerous and startling). They replaced elliptical machines downstairs that many people use with stairclimbers that literally no one uses.
The gym often runs out of towels during morning rush hour. And cans of wipes are often empty.
But seriously...the elevator. It hardly ever works. And when it does, in the time it takes to go from the ground floor to the top, you could legit run a half mile. This puts a massive, massive strain on the first floor staff and facilities and creates very overcrowded conditions on the ground floor, as well as cancelled classes, which surely causes frustration for the staff and definitely prompts members to consider finding another gym. Seriously, if you're in a long-term agreement with the building, wouldn't it be advantageous for you to try to work with the building to get the elevator fixed? Maybe that makes too much sense.
I've shared all of the above in an email to the GM and got absolutely nothing in response. They don't care about the facilities. They just care about taking your money.

I rarely have time to leave reviews, but my experience at printing house warrants it. I’ll start with the layout - horrible! You have to wait 5 min for the elevator to go upstairs to the 9th fl for the locker rooms. You still have to go to back to the 1st floor for strength training like Trx, etc. Second, this is a breeding ground for weirdos. Within my first 15 minutes there I witnessed a handful of men lurking at women as if they’d never seen one before. There was a guy laying on the couch as if he was having an OD attack and then a dude drenched in water who had the audacity to wet the entire stretching area - so rude while others are trying to stretch. It’s like no one taught him post pool etiquette. Locker rooms were so dingy - definitely not what one expects for a premier EQ gym. Never ever coming back here again!

Why are the elevators never working and why management doesn’t let us know? There are no other ways to get up to the 9th floor to get to class and if you are already up the only way down is by taking the stairs which you cant take to go up, just down. This gym costs me 340$ a month and having faulty elevators in quite scary.
UPDATE: it happened again.

Terrible customer service. Rude manager (I met one with the tattoos and the nails). When I asked a question she acted like I was bothering her. Out of all the people that works there 2 maybe were polite.
-The trainers are always using the machines and giving you an attitude if you don’t leave the machine fast enough.
-Trainers are tanning in the rooftop so there is not enough chairs to lie down.
-They sign up so many people to the gym that on pick hours there is no space. If you need to stretch or do some abs workout you just can’t. Or you find a small corner where you will be on someone’s way.
-Yoga teachers talk for literally 10-15 minutes before the start their classes.

Club is dated and not really a “destination club”. It is closest to my home but has very few classes on schedule, no hot yoga and the elevator is so slow one must add 10 minutes to get to class on time. Elevator breaks on occasion, and forgot to say that half the club is on ground floor and other half on roof, so the elevator situation can be super annoying. One must pay extra to go here it is in the top tier but lacks an indoor pool and no hot tub or sauna. The main attraction is the tiny outdoor pool where one can not swim laps, no lounges are ever available on a nice day, and one can not use guest passes when pool is open even if you both do not want to use the pool! So annoying and the reason I did belong to Equinox for over a decade. Now that My kids are grown I am able to schlep to other Equinox clubs, but every time I come here out of convenience, I find it a bit depressing. Hot Yoga and a few spin classes please! Sunset yoga is amazing with the views…but would be better hot!

A year later, I am not only the strongest that I have ever felt, but also live with reduced pain and, as a result, enjoy an increased ability to pursue day to day activities. My functional improvement is all due to the talent and commitment of my trainer, Murat. He is gifted and a consummate professional.

My favorite gym by far hands down!!! Great atmosphere, staff, classes and equipment. The immaculate cleanliness of the establishment, steam room and the cool cucumber infused towels, not to mention the view, just takes it over the top for me!

I must say Rocco, the sales manager, convinced me to go here. He was so kind, friendly, and encouraging. I felt his support if I ever needed it and I was super thankful because I definitely felt welcome here.
Let me just say- I COULD NOT BE MORE IMPRESSED with my experience. It’s seriously the nicest, cleanest, prettiest gym I’ve been to.
You can go to the 9th floor, workout and afterwords I sat to view the sunset. What’s better than that?!?!
10/10 would absolutely recommend.

I almost never leave bad reviews but the personal training team at Equinox is truly a disappointment. My trainer scheduled a session we never agreed on and charged my credit card without my authorization, and I only found out on the day of the session when she texted me to cancel it because she need to attend to a personal matter. I contacted the manager to ask for a refund of the session, and guess what, I was then charged for another session that I never attended (I was in the process of quitting the gym at this point). I subsequently emailed the manager on July 21, July 22, Aug 2, Aug 4 (twice), Aug 8, Aug 9, and Aug 16 to try to solve the issue, but only got sparse, non-substantive, and/or factually false replies, with a promise to schedule a phone call that never materialized. My last email on Aug 16 attempting to set up a call was not replied. My credit card was charged $282 in total without my authorization.

I would give this zero stars. I have been an equinox member for 7 years. I usually workout at the Greenwich Ave location. Decided try this one out, and they made me use one of my own guest passes. The space is incredibly crowded with machines on top of each other. You can barely breathe in ther: You have to take an elevator 9 floors to go from one part of the gym to the other. What made things a thousand times worse is the locker room has been completely out of towels for almost 30 mins!!!
In 7 years as an equinox member, I have never experienced the locker room being out of towels. AND THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A DESTINATION LOCATION! Give me my guest pass back.

Good gym with great classes (as expected with all Equinox memberships). Premium price is purely for the rooftop pool. Elevator goes out quite frequent though, so no access to roof, pool, main cardio area, a number of weight machines (particularly legs), or locker rooms.

The equipment is very good, usually working and usually clean.
The cost is very high and you can only use this equinox club with your membership.
There is pressure to use their trainers and they treat their trainers so poorly that there is constant turnover.

From a fitness standpoint, this is a pretty solid gym. There’s two floors with cardio equipment and lots of machines and weights. I personally like the bottom floor way more than the top cause it’s super specious they have good number of benches, free weights and TRX cables.
I’m really not a fan of the two floors being so far apart, the second floor of the gym is really the 9th floor and the elevator is INCREDIBLY slow. I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever ridden on a slower elevator in my life. The locker rooms are also on the 9th floor so I often find myself wasting a lot of time going up and down between the main weight floor and the upper level.
However the views especially from the yoga studio and rooftop patio are STUNNING. One of the best views of the city that I can recall. The rooftop pool itself doesn’t have the best view and it’s really small.
If they can figure out how to make the elevator more efficient, this gym has potential to be great.

Was really excited to join this gym for the pool, city views and nicer locker room, showers, sauna etc. Unfortunately these are all on the 9th floor which is almost always inaccessible because the elevator is constantly broken. This gym is not worth the destination price tag because all the destination features are not available due to a broken elevator.

Upgraded my membership to "all access" to try out the different locations. I'm greeted with you can't come here. I ask if there's something wrong with my membership. They say all access doesn't cover this location and an upper west one. So why's it called ALL ACCESS if it's NOT ALL ACCESS?
For a gym that spends so much on branding and marketing, maybe someone could work on non-misleading membership names.
The one that includes the other locations is called "destination." I spitefully upgraded and the only destination aspect of this place was that I had to walk from the high line one to here when I realized working out in a windowless basement level was depressing AF. I couldn't find someone's ranking of the gyms but if you have one, please share to save us all some pain. The Soho one is my favorite so far--good balance of all equipment on one floor, big windows, lounge space.
