Great gym, always clean, staff is on top of things. It is quite crowded pretty much all the time in the winter which can slow things down. Calm in the early morning hours.

Your obnoxious personal trainers are hogging up equipment for 45 mins at a time. Who is monitoring and allowing this to happen? The front desk folks are incredibly rude and aggressive. For a membership to be 300+ they offer no decent amenities, rude staff and aggressive / lazy front desk women. Just avoid and someone please start a competitor to this chain in nyc.

Good luck trying to get in touch with management if there’s a money issue. They said I was going to be put on a freeze, charged me a freeze fee and charged me for the month of the freeze

Front desk are extremely nice and helpful. Some of the good managers that were there have moved up in position to other gyms and have been replaced by not so friendly or helpful managers.I have recently found some trainers to take over equipment and working out during peak hours and interrupts workouts of clients. Many are working out together. This gym also needs to update there equipment they are still using equipment from way back when. There are many other Equinx gyms either better and more updated equipment.

Great gym and amenities, just be careful with what manager you sign your membership with. Try avoiding Mohammad Islam. I experienced issues with membership cancellation because of him. Had to pay for an additional 11 days of membership, which he failed to communicate with me. I only found out when I asked the front desk to confirm my cancellation date on what I thought was my last day in the gym. Lovely surprise to see that I would be billed for an extra $100+ and that there is apparently no way to fix it from the store's end anymore.
Member terms are fixed against the customer. Stay aware and choose your manager wisely.

First gym in the New York City area with little to no problems and 100% encouragement on Day 1 with Personal Trainer Ozo. Went from 225 pounds to 162.8 pounds with Equinox and Pentane chilled towels are a great free analgesic for gym pain. Would recommend to every Columbia University student that can get out here. —Carl Gustav Jung

The treadmills could use an update so the On Demand classes can run on them, and there's no real "chill" area, but all Equinoxes in terms of space, equipment, and staff are 5 Star gyms.

Equinox has totally changed how I feel about going to the gym. The space is super clean, the equipment is always in great shape, and the classes are actually fun and challenging. I love the energy here—it’s motivating without being too intense. The locker rooms feel more like a spa, and the little touches (like the cold eucalyptus towels) make a difference. It’s definitely pricey, but for me, it’s been worth it.

Unsafe, dangerous water practices.
Today this location had zero water available, but remained open (with classes, full gym). They did not send out a notice, did not offer any bottled water or have any support/solution for members who were seeking hydration and to shower. When I approached multiple staff to determine whether any water was (or could be) available, I was simply told “no” (twice, no further insight or help offered).
For $400/month? Janky.
There were 50-100 people working out at the time, this is irresponsible and dangerous.

I’m completely sold on starting my membership at Equinox after visiting this facility as a guest!
From the seamless front desk experience (shoutout to Bridget for being so attentive and welcoming while guiding us through), to the incredible classes like Yoga and Barre on Sundays, and even the dedicated cleaning staff ensuring the locker room amenities are always well-maintained—everything was top-notch.
Having experienced the Equinox Hotel and its restaurants, I’m truly impressed by the brand’s consistency in delivering exceptional service across all its locations, especially in its fitness clubs.
Outstanding service, customer experience, and brand excellence!

The facilities are nice but they don't really care about maintaining them. They only have 3 woodway treadmills and one has been out for over 2 months! For runners this is the only treadmill that matters especially in the winter so the demand for it is very high. There is always a line! I've alerted the front desk multiple times but nothing seems to happen. I'm sure they are like this with other things this is just the only thing I come for... Very disrespectful towards their customers.
Edit: thanks you for reaching out. As of now all three treadmills don't have Internet connection so it's not possible to access the PR plans. The manager was very kind about trying to fix it. I hope it doesn't take another couple of months 🤞🏻

There are so many amazing fitness options available at this place! From boxing and yoga to Pilates and swimming, they have it all. Not to mention the kids' daycare services and the wide range of TV channels in different languages. The facility is always clean, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Plus, they provide everything you could possibly need for your workout, from hair ties to personal hygiene items, including shaving kits, all for free. It's truly a top-notch establishment with personal trainers on hand to help you out.

I love coming to this location because it is convenient from my home. Front desk staff are always friendly, and sometimes will even acknowledge you by name. The store employees are always helpful and friendly when you need to buy new clothing or a new water bottle. The women’s steam room is top-notch and perfect temperature to get a nice steam on but unfortunately the showers and locker room overall is very small. Unlike other equinox locations that have big showers on one side and small showers on the other side, this location unfortunately only has small showers. The lockers are extremely small. Fortunately, I don’t notice this location having a problem with members leaving towels everywhere. Everyone does a better job putting away towels here. The cleaning/maintenance worker Olga works very hard and does an amazing job despite other members thinking that they can talk down to her as I witnessed in the locker room. Other members need to treat cleaning/maintenance staff with the upmost respect and disrespect should never be tolerated.

BEWARE they can charge you anytime unexpectedly. I cancelled my membership, because it happened twice (!) in less than 6 months. First time they charged a month extra “by mistake” and didn’t even know why, so they returned it.
This time, I put my membership on freeze and was told I would only be charged $50 per month, and then I saw a surprise, a full charge for this month on December 24. Merry Christmas! They started explaining something about returning it for the final month of the year, but it does not work for me, and I was never told that before. If I knew, I wouldn’t have frozen it. Now I just lost a month of working out and my money.
The manager, Mr. Lefagous White, apparently does not care about the clients at all. Even though it was the Equinox’s mistake, he was not trying to do anything about it at all, so I ended up canceling my membership altogether, because I’m just fed up it’s this attitude and horrible customer service.
Per club itself, it’s okay, but in the end, I was going to the 76th location, which is much nicer. However, it doesn’t matter how, I’ll find another fitness club, which is responsible with charging clients and does not “surprise” you like that.

This is a good gym in general, very clean, stuff is polite, however, the choice of equipment is average. If you have a leg day, work out will be long: equipment is always busy, you need to wait even
at 9pm (people don’t share). Equipment variety could be wider; it would be nice if machines especially for leg workout is doubled, especially some machines on the basement level. The gym is also gets overcrowded often. Hours of operation could be longer.

I love this gym, my favorite gym - Instructors are amazing except for Pamela Newkirk. Extremely unhelpful, doesn’t check if people are signed up to her class, can’t even talk to her or ask her questions, not sure if it is targeted hate towards me or what is her deal but I haven’t been able to get in a single class with her without her kicking me out when there is clearly still room in her class.

Here is my truth about Equinox at West 92nd. First, the folks at the front desk are marvelous, friendly, and attentive. Many of the trainers, those not obviously distracted, are first-rate, bargains at any price. The place is fastidiously clean. And, there are issues. From a former fitness manager there, this branch of Equinox accepts 300 new members a month, actually more. Why? Obviously they lose almost as many or the place would be bursting at the seams. Question: Why do they lose so many members? Answer: No one pays attention. NO ONE PAYS ATTENTION! Neither to machines that are overused and need additional machines nor to those underused and need replacement. Nor is it noted when a member cordons off a machine with a bench and uses it for 30 or 40 minutes, the entire length of one short stay at the gym. No one pays attention. Not to members to whom "may I work in" is an affront. Not to those members who claim a machine and are most of the time on their phones. Sharing is not done, decorum is absent. I have voiced my opinion at the club several times. I have reluctantly cancelled my membership.

I’m a first time Equinox all-access member and I absolutely love it! I do group fitness and I lift weights. I think it’s worth it if you go often (5-7 days/week) and use the gym. This location is clean, has friendly staff and trainers, is home to a gorgeous barre (and other cycling/yoga/boxing/strength) studio, and I appreciate that they have a SoulCycle bike with a monitor + access to SoulCycle on demand & selected livestream classes. Alex was my membership advisor and he was helpful with answering questions I had about different types of memberships and my experience felt very positive/personalized with him (not pressured in talking to him)- highly recommend working with him if you have any questions about membership or Equinox in general!!

This gym is crowded, quite often it's messy, and the air inside can feel stuffy.
The layout is nonsensical - it's spread across 4 floors, and if your workout involves weights, you'll probably have days where you need to walk from the top floor to the basement, and then back. And even though the equipment is spread across these floors, there's somehow LESS equipment here, than I've seen at other smaller gyms.
If this is your main gym, you're being ripped off by Equinox - the experience here is absolutely NOT worth the membership fee.

This location is cramped and you wont be able to do deadlifts or even find a place for pullups.... But 1000s of cardio machine, maybe even too many compared to stuff to actually work out. Extremely cramped at certain hours making the gym basically unusable, and the steam room smelled funny..... (although none of the other eqx steam rooms do) . I left it after 1 min because it smelled so bad like sewage. I dont think I'll be coming to this location again even though its the closest one to my house crunch on 86 definitely beats this spot

Pros: clean facility, nice staff at checkin, decent variety of machines for cardio and strength training
Cons: there is only one of most weight lifting machines so most days I have to wait a bit or just give up on using certain machines (even at off peak times), there are fewer classes post pandemic (and most don’t fit my schedule since most are offered only in the mornings and evenings), and the early weekend closing hours are a joke (closes at 8pm on Friday and 7pm Saturday/Sunday). All of that combined makes me question why I’m paying $300 a month

Today, a group gathered outside with signs protesting the lack of services and amenities here, with signs reading "fix your steam rooms" to "$300 a month, for what?"
While very amusing, it also was an important sign.
Soul Cycle next door recently closed down, too. Seeing as how Soul Cycle's owned by Equinox, also not a good sign.
I hope Equinox corporate can support and let this gym improve and raise the bar for the neighborhood. That is, IF their corporate office ever picks up on it...

I have heard that this is the first equinox location, that would make sense. It’s really a great standard high end/luxury gym, but not all the bells and whistles Hudson yards has (cold plunge, indoor/outdoor pool, jacuzzi, views, workspaces, etc).
Besides having all the equipment I needed for my workouts, the cleanliness, and location, what really got me into 92nd was the staff. Allison Niemi is excellent at her job and has been crushing it as far as communication and explaining all the options Equinox has. I travel a lot so it was important to get the right packages and locker setups, etc. I’ve enjoyed equinox in many cities and have had no problem. Mohammad, Elias, Bujar, and many others have also gone out of their way to make it incredibly friendly and just a fun place to walk into. Thanks to you all and cheers.

The facility looks pretty terrible from the outside, but on the inside it has everything you'd need from an equinox. They take pretty good care of the place and the staff are mostly helpful. Sales as well as front desk staff appear to have lied regarding ability to "freeze" your Equinox membership. The only reason I agreed to sign up for an Equinox membership (which by the way, has a minimum 1 year contract) is because I'd have the option to freeze when I'm not in town. Now after signing up, I've been told that the ability to freeze doesn't function in the way I was told (and sold a membership). This sort of dishonesty is frankly disgusting for a gym that charges $300+/month.

This place effin' blows for the price I was paying each month for almost three years. The location itself is small compared to other Equinox locations, and the layout of the equipment itself makes no logical sense. Worst of all are the staff here -- they are entitled and self-righteous. I had various minor grievances throughout the duration of my membership, some of which included issues with steam room cleanliness and staff rudeness. The management did little to rectify these concerns. On one occasion there was gum on the underside of the communal water dispenser, gross! When I considered re-joining after a peak of Covid, I was met with pushy salespeople and unsolicited calls to my mobile. Again, grievances were met with defensive emails from management. Avoid this gym at all costs and avoid Equinox altogether.

This location does not allow single-access-location membership, instead they want you to pay $275 fee for all-access even to only use their single location.
I was considering switching my home location to W 92nd as I moved. I’ve been an Equinox member in the city for years and have been able to do this in the past with their east side locations.
W 92nd even wanted me to pay $35 fee just to come look/try out their facility. Very tacky, in my opinion. Again, I’ve been a member for years and other locations I’ve tried out when moving have always been more welcoming by offering multiple days for free to try their location out prior to switching over.
I know covid hit everyone hard but this seems not very accommodating to the existing members of the Equinox brand.

Only a few lockers are available in the locker room but I haven't had any trouble finding one due to the reduced occupancy. No group classes or spa/saunas/pools at this time. Bring a water bottle as drinking fountains are only for bottle refills.

The staff was very nice. The club was very clean. I love the barre class.
Only one thing imperfect is the shower room is too small.

Place is ok. Just not up to the Equinox standard. Most annoying things are:
1. Classes have worse music and are less difficult than other locations
2. Classes are full of noisy people shouting, talking during class, and generally not taking it seriously
3. Some specialty machines have been broken for several months and not fixed by staff, even after multiple heads up

Nice like pretty much all Equinox', I'd say this location isn't as good as the others in the city. Most annoying is probably how the equipment is spread across 4 floors. Sometimes I have to walk all 4 floors before I can find an open rack, just to have to walk down 3 more floors to do the next exercise.

I had an awful experience with one of the instructors in one of this location’s classes. I escalated it to the 92nd St manager and they took over two weeks to fully address (in email exchanges they noted they couldn’t even get a hold of the Instructor). Despite not returning for weeks after that, I had to pay for my membership as these types of experience are not grounds for cancelling. There are many other options for fitness and personal improvement that do have clients at the center and an empowering environment. Suggest to everyone on the UWS you look for others out there. I rarely write reviews but feel strongly about sharing one for this business so it helps others before making a Commitment. For reference, I signed under the Unlimited Membership.

Moved to the neighborhood recently. Had been a member of Equinox at the Park Avenue location before. Called ahead to see if I could join speak with a membership advisor. They said he would be there till 6/6:30. I said 6/6:30 sounds vague and asked if the front desk person if they could check because I didn’t want to go over there if he wasn’t going to be there. They said ok, got off the phone and checked. Came back and said to be there by 5:55 and I could see him. I biked over there and arrived at 5:54 and said I just called about membership. The front desk person said oh the membership person left 10 minutes ago. I was really frustrated, the manager came out and was defensive, did not empathize and came off as condescending. I said I was a member at another location and just moved here, I want to join, I came in per your instructions, if they could give me a day pass to make up for their error. Manager took no responsibility for their mistake and the front desk woman I spoke with wouldn’t admit her mistake. She said I could make another appointment .. hmm, why would I do that after that experience? For a club that claims to be the top in the city, the uws location left a very poor impression. If I’m going to spend their hefty monthly fee, I expect more. I was considering joining today. Terrible member service left me disenchanted with the Equinox brand. Won’t be coming back.

Staff here is solid. The facility is always clean. The weights are always organized nicely whenever I'm there (both evenings and mornings) they stay on top of it. The classes here are great too. The only complaint I have is that it is one of the few facilities you have to bring a lock to. Apparently they are planning to replace the lockers with ones that don't need locks but as of the date of this review that has not begun.

Ok, so as a disclaimer, I'm posting these reviews for my reference. I have an All Access Membership, and I want to visit as many of these as I can, to see which one I like most/would like to go to.
My interests are powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, swimming, so my review will be geared towards that.
This one is my home base, compared to some of the others it's not incredible, but it's not terrible, comparatively either. In a nice middle.
Four floors.
Lower Level has locker rooms, a squat rack, deadlifting space. Some machines.
Ground floor has The Shop, a cafe, the lobby, some cardio machines.
1st floor has a squat rack, a deadlifting platform. Plenty of cardio machines.
2nd floor has two squat racks, a deadlifting platform, some cardio machines, rooms for classes.
Out of 10:
Size: 6
Luxury: 7
Equipment: 8

Extremely overpriced. Nice gym but the prices are comical. Limited equipment compared to other gyms and some of equipment is broken. Some staff are very friendly and some are very rude.

Not the most friendly staff for sure (mainly if compared with Equinox Berkeley where I spent three months). Very impersonal environment but enough for those who wants a place to train. I tried to share a bad behaviour from a teacher but the feedback functionality on the app doesn’t work (how surprise ). It is expensive but at least has good amenities and classes options. Baths are generally clean.

This gym changed my life! The staff is amazingly friendly and I feel like it's my second home, and after moving across the country last year it's nice to go somewhere people recognize you and are always greeting you with a smile!
If you're looking for a trainer, Santiago has been there for years and is absolutely incredible. I've seen a huge change in not only my physical appearance and my strength level, but also the outlook I have on working out. He knows how to encourage, while pushing you to do the best you possibly can.
I can't say enough about this gym, absolutely recommend it to everyone in the area!
