I’m very happy at Saw Mill Club East. The lockers were recently replaced with doors with combination locks, so no more bringing a lock from home. There are always plenty of clean towels and I’ve enjoyed the yoga classes I’ve taken with Mekea and Frances. In addition, I had two very good training sessions with Denis. He was friendly and professional. Since I have rotator cuff issues and can’t do much using my arms, he was able to customize my workout to strengthen my core and legs without further injury to my upper body.

I’ve had such a great experience at this gym! The environment is clean, welcoming, and really motivating. Denis is an amazing trainer — sweet, friendly, and incredibly professional. His knowledge of the musculoskeletal system is impressive, and he really knows how to apply it to personalize workouts that actually make a difference. I always feel supported and challenged in the best way. Highly recommend!

Beautiful gym and wonderful classes. Fabulous trainer Dennis! The best barre instructor is Alanna at SMC. She’s wonderful. I love Zumba classes with all instructors and Yin and Vinyasa yoga classes as well as the Pilates classes. don’t like that certain instructors favor some guests above others. It is disrespectful that a particular instructor allows some members to join classes late and leave early and does not allow a new member to join 15 minutes late due to completion of an initial session with her trainer.

5 stars - Transformative Group Classes at Genesis Health Clubs - Saw Mill Club East!
I have been a dedicated member of Genesis Health Clubs - Saw Mill Club East since the club first opened its doors in 2011. Group Exercise classes have been the heartbeat of my fitness journey. This gym shines brightly in its dynamic group fitness, offering a variety of weekly classes that are fresh and exciting. What truly elevates the experience are the dynamite instructors like Jen Picco, Melanie Melillo, and Jason Horr. When I started, I could not manage even one push-up! Now, thanks to their expert guidance, I can breeze through 3 sets of 15 without breaking a sweat!
I work out 7 times a week, diving into the constant diversity of exercises—from high-energy HIIT to super strength training, step and kickboxing. The instructors keep us motivated with their infectious energy, personalized cues, and innovative routines, ensuring we never get bored. The community vibe in these classes is unbeatable; I have built strength, fitness, and friendships along the way.
If you are ready to level up your fitness game and have fun, join Saw Mill Club East. The classes with Jen, Melanie, and Jason will hook you for life!

The Saw Mill is a great club. The staff, equipment, classes and instructors are all first class. We really enjoy our membership and appreciate the club and it's management. It's a great value and a welcoming place to work out.

Absolute Dump. Incompetent management, awful equipment and cleanliness, and the instructors have zero credibility to be teaching others how to be healthy. Happily bringing my family to Lifetime where you don’t see such miserable employees. Absolute garbage facility from top to bottom.

Update: December 13th 2024. 1 of 2 pools closed again. Again, the website doesn’t reflect breakdown, making people think they have a reservation but with half the lanes available, there are no lanes. One shows up and may have to leave because one can’t wait to fit into a later schedule. “Circle swimming” is becoming a bad option. If one is serious about swimming for health/exercise, this club may not be for you. Perhaps the $ bottom line may be the issue to properly fix the problem. This is chronic.
Additionally, since the Genesis website lane reservation system started, lifeguards can’t see the reservations and don’t know what is going on. Lifeguards are using pen and paper to take names and telling me they don’t know if I have a reservation. When lap lane reservations are REQUIRED, why ask members to make the reservation when the lifeguards at pool continue to say they “see nothing” about the reservations.
Update: Another three days and the pump is still broken in one pool and there are three people including myself with a swim reservation made online but no lap lane, in part because a paid for swim lesson is taking up a full lane, and swim lessons take preceence over lap swim reservations. No one knows at the front desk when the broken pool will be open. The response is "Sorry." In the past several months, in particular the past two months, the deep pool has been broken. A pump issue that seems not to get fixed. One can’t tell when making a lap lane reservation whether by phone and now the new Genesis Health Club lap lane reservation system. Both pools are lovely but the maintenance is questionable. I’ve arrived and there’s no lane because all lanes are doubled up and I apparently was able to make a reservation. What’s going on? I only come for swimming so I’m not going to leave and exercise elsewhere at the gym and return. Also the women’s steam room is chronically broken, meaning about every six weeks? It’s then shut for a couple of days. Women’s shower also has had a broken stall for possibly six weeks. Didn’t want to complain but after poor pool maintenance I felt I had to.

The buyout by Genesis didn't help this sinking Leviathan any. In just 6 months things went noticeably downhill, so much so that I cancelled my membership. If you're thinking of joining the gym ask for a trial and check out these things:
- All of the Precor Ellipticals have issues be it broken arm pieces, a hitch in the lower body element, or both.
- Water fountains all spit room temperature water, cooling elements are broken.
- Other members leave the gym a mess and in all the time I was there I only ever saw 1 staff member tidying up and putting equipment back that members left out. I watched people everyday pull balls, steps, etc to use for 5 seconds and then just leave it in the middle of the floor. No one unracks the machines, ever and no one is held accountable so it just continues to get worse and worse.
-Some of the trainers are kind of rude, some are great. I was recovering from a neuro issue that affects my balance and one trainer would roll her eyes watching me workout.
- Research in to Genesis Health Clubs is not impressive. I encourage people to look in to that before joining.
- Lockers were redone to have built in locks so you can no longer use your own lock. It's a 4 number code you set each time- however whenever you unlock your locker anyone near you can easily see your code so don't plan on using the same code. Also- They don't work perfectly and everyday I saw people having to get staff to let them in their lockers when they got locked out.
-Incredibly cheap ammenities. Like soap shampoo etc. I don't expect high end but for $120/month plus yearly money grab I'd expect handsoap that doesn't melt my skin.
-Stuff not clubs fault: Lots of teens who hog machines and scroll their phones for 10 minutes between sets. But kind of clubs fault for not letting members know not to do that. Lots of women wear tons of perfume which was frankly nauseating. Women often came in to the sauna in their sweaty workout clothes or, my favorite, would bring their stuff in to the sauna after their shower to lotion up (eww) and get dressed.
Pros: Cleaning staff were super friendly and did a great job.

Facilities are up-to-date including furnishings and workout equipment. The personal trainer I have worked with is great. The hot tub is nice. The locker rooms are nice. Good showers. They offer a wide range of classes that I am yet to try out, but I look forward to.
One change needed- the toiletries in the locker rooms are low quality- the hair conditioner is like cheap lotion, and thus does not work at all. The shampoo and body wash are so-so. They need to upgrade these products.

I love this gym! The staff is very friendly , the equipment is very new and well taken care of, there is plenty of space to do any workout you want . They have everything and more you could ask for from a gym. A pool , steam room, sauna, experienced trainers , classes , a punching bag! I mean I can’t think of anything they don’t have . Love it here ! Started coming here to focus on strength training and I’ve been coming consistently for the past 3 months and have seen great results ! If you’re looking for your health and body transformation . This is the place to go.

Solid place, has most of the workout equipment you would need but missing a few of the basics. Locker rooms are constantly being cleaned so their very nice. Hard to go on weekends because they close very early, I can’t count the number of workouts I’ve missed because I was busy during the day on a weekend. Would be a 5 star if it had a wider range of gym equipment and wasn’t 90% cardio (I’ve never seen more than 15 people on the cardio machines and there’s like 40 treadmills)

Friendly people and great facilities make this place a pleasure to work out at. There is a wide variety of equipment available and a robust schedule of free classes included in your membership. What really makes the place great though, in my mind, are the people working there, especially the personal trainers who really care about you making progress and hitting your goals. I'm glad I joined.

I almost don’t want to write this review because I want to keep this place all to myself. I’m a swimmer and any swimmer knows how hard it is to find a decent pool. This place has two saltwater lap pools! One with a deep end. Not in a dingy basement somewhere: in a palatial space with super high ceilings and big windows. It’s glorious. Moving back up here from the city it’s just such a luxury. I was used to swimming five in a lane in an overchlorinated cloudy puddle. You’d literally have to be a billionaire to swim in an equivalent pool in NYC. Honestly I’ve looked at a lot of listings for the most expensive apartments in the world just for fun and a lot of them have pools that aren’t as nice as this if you’re a real swimmer. They even have a drop in nursery that is super cheap so if you have kiddos you can drop them off and get in a workout. The rest of the gym looks nice enough. Please don’t come swim here. Lots of times when I come late at night I have the whole pool to myself and I don’t want to share it with anyone!

Overall not a bad club with variety of classes. However, their guest policy spoiled my good impression of the club. If you play squash, you can't bring your friends for a game unless they are also members. The same guest can come only 3 times a year, and this policy is strictly enforced by the management. They literally track how many times you have a guest and then bother you with calls. For me this policy does not make sense, since single guest pass costs as much as $20, and I can't imagine people use it for anything but play squash with their friends. It is not surprising that all courts are mostly empty.
In summary, if you plan to play squash with friends who are not the members of this club, better find another place.

Just joined recently. The place is bright, clean, air-conditioned, and smells good! The staff is super friendly, and the members are warm and down-to-earth. The programs are pretty comprehensive although I would like to see many more yoga classes, especially hatha and anusara, not just vinyasa. Membership concierge Jamie is so caring and helpful and got me set up to get text alerts re class schedule changes, etc. That'll be really helpful in the winter months. Some of the "extra" services (like aqua jams, $20 per class in addition to monthly membership fees) are a bit pricey, but this IS Westchester County, NY.
