Only had one session. The two teachers (who were nice) were young and did not engage with my two year old. Had a scheduling conflict after one session (no trial lesson extended) and wanted a full refund given this, which we thought was reasonable and other gyms generally offer a trial. They would not only not refund the full amount, or the initiation fee, they only partially refunded and stuck us with an extra class to pay for that she could not attend!

For young kids this is like daycare, not training to be a gold medalist.

Two stars instead of one because not a tremendous amount of time to get to know them. Maybe it gets better. Very disappointed in the transactional nature of their business.

My kids like that they can do a variety of gymnastics and learn in their summer camp. They like that they have ninja challenges during the summer camp as well. Sometimes the ninja program in the summer has only a few kids and the activities aren't always catered by age.

As a parent who used to train, the training aspect of the gym is much better than most. Only issue with training I see is the same as what some other reviews mentioned. The trainers ( mostly younger kids ) seem disengaged especially from younger students.
As for the facility and hygiene- this is where I have a real issue. People of course will walk into the building with shoes as they should, but staff and students walk around in the same area either barefoot or with socks. Then they proceed into the training area with dirty feet. Some staff members walk on the training mats with outdoor shoes on. Additionally, staff and students enter/exit bathrooms barefoot/shoes/socks and return to the training area. This practice should not be acceptable especially where small children train. Staph, ringworm, hand foot mouth, pinkeye etc are things that can be minimized if better precautions are taken.

I was looking for gymnastics center in Queens and had no luck. I found Gold Medal on google and my daughter started in April 2024. I drive 30 minutes from Queens and knowing my daughter is always excited to attend her class. The teachers are always so sweet and helping my daughter during class. Thank you Gold Medal Gymnastics!! We had the best experience for my daughter's fourth birthday this past weekend! From booking, organizing and completion of the party, everything was phenomenal. It was the best birthday party that we have had for our three children over the year's. Michelle was incredible to work with when I initially called she talked me through every detail and we immediately booked. Ciara and her team were amazing!! Ciara went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and the team... the team!!! Phenomenal! They prepared her party space in minutes and were so good with the kids! They spoiled my daughter for her birthday and really made sure every child was happy and engaged. Our guests couldn't believe how amazing and clean the gym is but the STAFF is truly incredible. You do not find that often!! We are definitely putting her in gymnastics at Gold Medal, I would never go anywhere else!!

Place is very disorganized. Not enough staffing per class. Kids get hurt very frequently, due to lack of proper supervision. They make it very difficult to reschedule make ups so you end up just giving up. Over all we tried to give this place a fair chance twice ( by signing up for multiple months... then unrolling and then later on in the year we signed up again) and both times it was very disappointing experience.

My daughter is part of their silver star's program. I am giving 4 stars bc the facility can be very chaotic at times but overall i am happy about the program because of Miss Ali and Miss Giana. They are very tentative instructors. My daughter is 3 and she truly loves Miss Giana. She is the one instructor that I personally have not seen slack off . She's tentative the whole 1 hour that she is teaching and is extremely engaging. There are instructors there that slack off but Miss Giana is truly great. Normally my au pair takes my daughter but she sends me videos and when i was present for 2 classes, both times, i saw Miss Giana really paying attention to the group of little girls she had. I will continue the classes for my daughter as long as miss giana is there !

We just did a birthday party at Gold Medal Gymnastics in Garden City. The staff was on top of every detail and made it very easy for the parents to enjoy the party. The facility is clean, well-organized, new, and the staff made sure the kids were taken care of. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a birthday party at GMGC of GC, and we had many families say that they were going to switch to this location for their gymnastics classes.

My daughter began gymnastics at the Garden City location as a 9 year old. I was nervous that her lack of skills/experience would leave her far behind and unable to participate. I was so happy to see how patient the teachers are and that the programs move at the child's pace. Overall they have a great concept with the children as far as the learning new things. What they do lack is teaching the kids to be a group. They work in groups and the groups are not that big to not see,there is diversity. My daughter loves to go but feels left out in the group because the other little girls so call call their self being a little club. My daughter is only 7 and doesn't want to cause any bad will towards the little club. I'm sure the teacher see's the separation. She has two more sessions and she still wants to go unfortunately. Only thing I have bad to really say is they need to teach the young ladies that one team one sound. Everyone should play nice and be nice to each other. I hope no one else child is experiencing this. Don't think I will have my daughter returning it didn't build her self esteem and lowered it

My kid thoroughly enjoyed this place and it is sad to leave it. I do not think the staff is adequately trained to deal with bullying by other kids in the group.

After the first incident where my kid was passively showing distress and felt ignored by the instructor, I asked my kid to be vocal and actively inform the instructor about bullying or any distress another kid is causing. But when it happened again, next class, with the same kid, in my kids words, "they did nothing about it".

I understand kids horse around all the time but to hear from a rough and tumble kid about how they were choked and stomped on and got cuts from cardboard pieces being thrown at them in a safe, supervised , foam filled place and then being ignored by the people responsible for them is gut wrenching.

I tried this place for 5 months In gymnastics. Very unhappy with the staff, they look very uninterested, don’t pay attention to them, they just look at each other. When it comes to pay for the classes they just take your payment but forget to tell you it’s an auto payment and you have to actually let them know in advance if you don’t wish to continue. Otherwise they charge you with no possibility of getting your money back.

We had our 3 and 5 year olds in the Little Ninja classes for six weeks and it was extremely disappointing. The "instructors" are disinterested young people who stare off into the distance and constantly check their watches while the kids are very loosely corralled from one area of the gym to the next. There was zero engagement or instruction. I continued a second month because my kids thought the gym equipment was a lot of fun. But the final straw was when we went to a class and there was only ONE instructor with 8 children ages 3-5. The children were running wild and the instructor was, per usual, just acting bored and annoyed. Two children were injured due to the lack of supervision. We requested a refund for the remaining two weeks of "classes" we had paid for. They argued with us and then gave us a partial refund. Absolutely horrible service, all around.
*Update: 4 months after I posted this, I was contacted by the manager who politely gave us a full refund, offered us a complimentary class, and stated that they have made changes.

Pre Covid the Garden City center had a solid staff. Post Covid the staff is young and disinterested. I am happy to update this review because of the excellent customer service I got from Michelle the regional director. She called me and assured me she would look into my complaints. Although we have decided to go with another gym, I will absolutely keep Gold Medal as a summer camp option. Thanks again Michelle.

Both of my kids love taking classes at Gold Medal in Garden City. My daughter started in the youngest gymnastics class and now is in the accelerated 6-8 group. My son does the Ninja classes and loves it better than all of the sports he plays. The instructors give them individualized instruction and really help them with their skills. Michelle is the best and is always amazing with scheduling and getting my kids into the appropriate class. I’m so impressed with how strong my kids have become. I wish I could do it!

I went to the open gym workout and it was amazing! I'm 12 years old and most of the kids were younger but it was so much fun! It was an open gym and you could use any equipment (except for the foam pit cause of Covid-19). The workers were so nice and friendly. Their is so much to do. I go to the one in Levittown! There are multiple uneven bars, beams, and vaults, The whole floor is matted and there are trampoline floors. I play two other sports so I couldn't do a gymnastics class but this is perfect for me! You can just sign up as you go. Its only $15 for an hour! Totally recommend this!!!

You will definitely get the best experience and gymnastic instruction from gold medal for your child. The student to teacher ratio is about 3.5 to 1. My youngest that tends to be very latched to me is always eager to go to the camps. The one downfall I have pertaining to the business aspect is makeup classes. It is very difficult to make up classes and they seem to pile up if you miss more than one and do not make it up right away, for this reason I had to disenroll my children for the period of time of recuperation after having my last child. I always recommend gold medal gymnastics center when people are looking for a gym for their child.

My daughter is naturally not a physically active personality. However, after attending her first class of open gym, she told me she does not want to do any other activity. She only wants to do gymnastic. She loves the fact that's she gets to work on different apparatus weekly and learn new things. She respects and adores her coach. I think the facility promotes positivity and self-confidence for the children that attend.
