To the Goldfish Swim School Team,
I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the entire team at Goldfish Swim School. Most importantly, I want to extend a special thank you to Ryan, who has been absolutely amazing with my daughter, Alyssa Adorno, throughout her swimming journey.
Ryan has shown incredible patience, encouragement, and dedication as Alyssa transitioned through each level of her growth. Now that she’s part of Swim Force, I can’t help but feel emotional with happy tears. Alyssa was nervous and even cried on her first day, but Ryan immediately jumped into the pool to reassure her and make her feel comfortable. That simple act made a world of difference. Today, she’s excited and proud to be part of the Goldfish family.
I also want to recognize the wonderful progress of my younger daughter, Alyanna Adorno, who is now in Glider 3. Her transformation has been unbelievable—she went from crying and wanting nothing to do with the pool to not wanting her classes to end! This is a true testament to the care, patience, and skill of all the instructors who have worked with her.
Lastly, I’d like to extend my gratitude to Justin, the manager, for his excellent leadership and support. His positive energy and professionalism truly reflect in the amazing culture and teamwork at Goldfish Swim School. It’s clear that his leadership helps create a nurturing, encouraging environment where both children and staff can thrive.
By far, you all are an amazing team. I would rate Goldfish Swim School 10/10 without hesitation. Please continue doing the great work you do—making children confident, happy, and safe swimmers.
With heartfelt thanks,
Arlene Villafana

My son started taking swimming classes from Mini 3, and he is now in Junior 3. I am so happy and don’t regret choosing Goldfish as the school for my son to learn how to swim. He has learned so much and improved greatly. I love how, even though there’s more than one kid in the group class, they try to take their time with each one and make sure each student is learning. The instructors are very patient and ensure the kids are also having fun while learning how to swim. The place is always clean, and they always have promotions or small gifts displayed on a table for the kids. I love how every two weeks, your kid will receive a report on how he or she is doing. My son gets very excited every time he moves to a new level. Thanks to everyone at Goldfish in Yorktown.

The staff here is nice and friendly. The water is warm and clean. They have free family swims every week for members. Most of all, the coach Celina at goldfish is exceptionally dedicated, responsible, patient and caring. When my daughter started to learn swim when she was three, she was so afraid of water and cried for almost the whole class each time. But after meeting her current coach Celina, she has been always excited to go swimming. My daughter is very attached to her and feels completely at ease in her class. We are so grateful and couldn’t ask for better.

I have mixed feelings about this location. I first enrolled my son in swim lessons at 7 months old in the Sunday morning class. He clearly enjoyed it, but I eventually disenrolled him because we’re rarely around on weekends and missed too many sessions to justify the membership. I re-enrolled him at around 18 months, and up until recently (around 25 months), I only had positive things to say. His instructor, Maria, was fantastic — attentive, kindhearted, gentle, and clearly passionate about working with toddlers. She had a bond with my son, and going to swim really was the highlight of his week.
Unfortunately, since Maria left, the experience has gone downhill. The instructors who’ve filled in seem visibly bored, distracted, and unprepared (often referencing the book mid-class, while even my toddler reminds them what’s next in the sequence). They rush through the songs and give the impression they’re just trying to get it over with. I understand they may be subbing until a permanent toddler instructor is hired, but at the very least, they could at least pretend to show some enthusiasm.

Today I had a wonderful experience for my 2 grandchildren at Goldfish Swim School!
Justin the manager and Matthew at the front desk were so helpful and accommodating as well as Ryan the supervisor at the pool.
In one half hour I could see results because of their knowledge and communication with each other.
I am excited to see their progress at the end of the week!
Thank you Matthew, Justin and Ryan and the wonderful swim instructors.
You are the best!

We love everything about Goldfish Swim School - Yorktown Heights! The friendly and welcoming staff, the fun instructors, the play based learning, focus on water safety, ribbons galore, the shiver free water, family swim, showers and hairdryers, the merch store for those times we forgot goggles or a towel, the events, the positive reinforcement, and most of all the smile on my kid’s face every time she’s there.

Pretty great, except billing and customer service. Canceled membership… they charged me for another few months, then “can’t” refund for their mistake. That’s dishonest from an otherwise good place.

My child, Connor, has been attending Goldfish Swim School for a year now. We initially started at the New Rochelle location, which we absolutely loved—the instructors were attentive, classes were well-organized, and each child received the attention they needed.
Unfortunately, our experience at the Yorktown location has been very different. The Sunday classes are overcrowded, often with more than 10 kids, making it difficult for the instructors to give each child the attention they deserve. It’s hard to even hear the instructor during class, and it’s disappointing that students aren’t greeted upon arrival—something that made a huge difference at New Rochelle.
Overall, it feels like the staff here just go through the motions, and the quality of instruction is nowhere near what we experienced previously. For the price and what Goldfish Swim School promotes as their standard, this location is a letdown.

From the moment we walked through the doors at Goldfish we felt immediately welcomed. My daughter started with Bella as her coach and quickly became comfortable with her. So much so we took private lessons for a while. Jaz was fantastic with my daughter as well. The parent and me classes for my son was very educational and fun for the littles. While I do wish the lessons were longer- I am impressed with how much my daughter and son have learned in their time at GSS. So many wonderful instructors we have worked with and the front desk personnel have always been helpful when we needed them!

I wish they do renovation at this facility, the concrete floor inside of the pool looks horrible. The trainers are not enthusiastic and most of the time seem they don’t know what they are doing. At least at babies lessons. The only instructor I would recommend is Yuna, she is passionate and knowledgeable.

Goldfish swim school, Yorktown Heights is the worst place to send your child. It is a waste of your money. Your child learns nothing. Every year there in a change in management. Swimming instructors change very frequently without notification to the parents. These new instructor don’t know what they’re doing and have to read the manual throughout the 30 mins lesson that’s shared with 4 others kids. Not to mention each child has 7 mins to swim. My son almost drown and no one did anything. They didn’t even check to make sure he was okay. Notified management about the situation was a waste of time. There response was there’s nothing they can do about it. They are very unprofessional and needs management training. They refuse to give me there names and titles. After posting a review highlighting the situation is when they listen to my concerns. You will be risking your child’s life if you send them there.

The instructors and lifeguards are really supportive and my son loves going there each week. I love that I get to talk with the instructor after the class is over to get some insight on how things are going. They do swim assessments and will move your child up when they are ready. There is even a family swim on certain days for an hour that you can sign up for. I love this place!

Today when I took my kid there everything was off the pool cloudy, the shower area needed a good scrubbing.

Please think and rethink before taking your kids to Goldfish. My daughter took group lessons last year. For somehow, she stayed with the same instructor for the first few lessons and then all of sudden, the teacher left because she needed to go back to school. It upset her really badly and didn't want to get into the water, then instead of comforting and calm her down, the manager (I think) just threw her into the water without saying anything while she was crying so hard!!! After that accident, my daughter is scared of water and refuses to learn swimming at all!! They charge money automatically from your card, so we have money stuck there for a month of lessons that we didn't take at all!! After that, I talked with my daughter for months trying to let her try to learn swimming again and now she feels okay to do so if stays with the same instructor. Now, they offer private lessons and we would like to take it and use the money on the profile for private lessons. I don't understand why they don't allow that and can't come up with one single excuse for them! This organization doesn't care about your kids and their "policies" are ridiculous, including the 30 day notice, so be careful!!

We have been very happy with out experience at Goldfish. The instructors are skilled, kind and encouraging. Our children, ages 4 and 6, enjoy their lessons and we can see progress being made each week in terms of both their swim skills and confidence--which is so important. A bonus is that the on-line platform is easy to use for scheduling, etc. Thank You!

Goldfish swim school is an unethical business run by people, aiming to take advantage of others. Please be warmed or taken in by the false positive reviews and do not bring your children there.
We enrolled our children in a 4 day camp program. That same week we signed up for in a longer program, but decided to cancel on the 4th day of the camp after observing the classes were very slow. Our children spent the majority of time sitting on the side of the pool and didn’t learn much.
We spoke to the general manager Kareem to cancel the longer program they had not yet started but they refused to let us cancel or refund us stating that we needed to give them 30 days. They said we had registered months earlier which is a flat out lie and categorically not true. We didn’t even know the place existed.
Separately, there app/ website does not have any way to remove your card from being on file . They essentially have access to charge it ongoing without any way to remove it.
Goldfish swim school exists to take advantage of people, and draw out teaching children how to swim. They lie, make up policies and dates in order to justify unethical business practices.

We started with Goldfish a few months ago. The first few weeks we got off to a slow start with them, but they must have gone through some changes because a few weeks ago things got better. They evaluated my kid and helped move him to the appropriate class, they are much more responsive to feedback and questions. In fact this is the only class my kid does that he runs in excited to be a part of. His teacher Rebecca is awesome and takes a real interest in teaching and my kid. Really happy with Goldfish!

Very disappointed! My son attended 6 classes and didn't have the same instructor twice. Staff seem to be unaware of which teachers are coming and going and who will be teaching the classes. It was impossible for instructors to assess swimming ability when they see the child once and then leave or move to another class. I expressed concern about this on a weekly basis for 4-5 weeks and pulled my son by week 6. I also reached out to Goldfish via their feedback and received a call from a manager -- Natalie -- who insists that someone was injured and someone got sick. When I explained each week, who I spoke with (at the front desk) and which teacher he had week after week, she apologized and acknowledged "it has been a problem lately." Yup, a real problem "lately!" Waste of time and money.

Very happy with our experience at Goldfish! We’ve been trying swimming lessons the past year at various places and the water has been too cold that my 7 yr old son couldn’t/wouldn’t concentrate on learning. He was so afraid to put his head under the water. At the first lesson at Goldfish my son dove with assistance under the water and hasn’t looked back since. One month in, we went on vacation and he was swimming short distances and putting his head under the water. He is SO proud of himself and I’m one proud momma. Great environment, teachers, and love the easiness of the app! Worth the cost.

I can see why this place is so popular! I started the Mini 1 swim classes with my 8 month old, and we both had an absolute blast! Sara spent time over the phone with me, explaining all the details and answering my questions beforehand, and Ari very patiently helped fix my account and sign me up after I had botched it myself online. Our class instructors, Michael and I think Zirayli (I apologize if I misremembered the other instructor) were fantastic, very engaging and had tons of great class plans. 30 minutes was the perfect length of time for the class, and we used every second of it! There are tons of very clean changing rooms to use, and a convenient shower area to rinse off after lessons. I look forward to future classes with my little one.

The place is nice and they have nice showers and.changing rooms. I took my 3,5 yo for swimming classes and they are not what I expected at all. The kids spend less then 5 min in the water in a 30 min class. A good amount of time is spent talking to them while they sit on the side of the pool all wet and shivering. Then they pour water with a cup on them, then 10 seconds in the water and back out to talking. Maybe it’s more appropriate for older kids but mine was cold and getting sick after each class.

PLEASE READ! ! MY SON ALMOST DROWNED! I AM WRITING THIS SO YOUR FAMILY WILL NOT EXPERIENCE THE PAIN MY FAMILY DID!!!!The staff is all teenagers that are not paying attention. My wife had to run across one side of the pool to the other screaming that my son was drowning before anyone took notice. She was about to jump into the water when a lifeguard finally jumped in. Class is suppose to be in groups of four, and my son was put into a group of five. They stated the reason was because they were “ short staffed.” Absolute neglect! If you care about the well being of your child do not bring them to Goldfish! There are better options that are closer that cost less money.

I went with my daughter this past Saturday to watch my Grandson in his swimming lesson. I was a water safety instructor and life guard in my young adulthood. I also was the director of a swimming summer program for some years.
The class was crowded and the place was very distracting. We were told they were short staffed. (That should NOT be the problem of a parent) I quickly noticed two life guards standing on deck just talking to each other. A big guy with a life preserver hanging around his neck and a girl. I mentioned to my daughter that they SHOULD NOT BE TALKING and instead be separate and watching the pool.
My grandson, who is three years old was placed down below the group and sitting. The water was above his chest level. I have pictures and videos.
It was an accident waiting to happen.
As the instructor was working with one child my grandson slipped into the water. Since I had my eyes on him the entire time and so did my daughter, I immediately jumped up and started banging on the glass window yelling “Hes drowning!” No one saw this!! He was thrashing around underwater trying to get up to the top. As I was screaming and banging I saw a few instructors look up at me. They were facing me and he was drowning behind them. I do not know how this could happen EXCEPT A SEVERE NEGLECT! Of the life guards guarding from the deck. The entire place is poorly supervised. I’m very surprised that no one has drowned yet!! My daughter ran into the pool area. Three guards pulled him up and out and scratched him all up. They should cut their nails. They bandaged his back and his front of his chest and shoulder. We went to Urgent Care! This was NOT the fault of the guards. It is the fault of whomever was suppose to be in charge. Having had experience in this area and also being a teacher, I strongly advise that unless this place takes this review seriously some child will end up drowning here!
Sincerely, Mrs. Johnson
P.S. As a result of the banging my thumb and underhand is black and blue.

The facility is great; very clean and they are taking the pandemic precautions seriously.
My daughter advanced a lot after having a substitute teacher for 2 weeks (Ryan). He made her do things she wasn’t able to do before. (Choose that teacher, if you can. He’s great!), but the others are good as well.
The only negative side is that the classes are too short...only 30 minutes once a week. I think it should be at least 45 minutes to 1 hour, since it’s only 1 time a week or 30 minutes twice a week.

Hello Mr & Mrs Graves.
My son, David, has been taking swimming lessons since January. He started out with casual lessons, then we switched him to monthly. His experience at Goldfish has been great. The confidence that he has in the water is extremely impressive. Your facilities are always well maintained and for the most part all of your staff has been friendly and courteous. I understand that there is a high turnover with your employees. A majority of them are younger and leave for school and what not. Also, a lot of them changed their work schedules and having a consistent instructor was difficult. As you approach your one year anniversary I am writing you to bring something to your attention. There is one particular employee that you have who has gone above and beyond. He has personally kept us from leaving Goldfish twice this year. His name is Azon. He is extremely kind to every person who walks into goldfish. He remembers all of his students names. He is amazing as an instructor and my son can not wait till he gets to go back into one of his classes. While Azon was recovering from his knee injury he also did an amazing job at the front desk, as well as when he was working the pool deck. Your other employees respond to him. The atmosphere in the pool is different when he is working. The instructors take their lessons more seriously and the horseplay amongst them stops. I know that Azon has received employee of the month before, I remember seeing his picture up before he became my son's instructor. But as you approach first full year, if you are looking to do something for employees that stand out. Please consider Azon.
Thank you
James Wilson

Clean, well-managed, great training of instructors who are calm and patient. Love the waiting area with toys for littles, WiFi for grownups, clean bathrooms, cubbies, hair dryers. Showers and water extractors for swimsuits, a place to buy goggles, etc. Popular snack bar, free swag, etc. Easy check-in, enrollment, makeups. A great start for young or anxious swimmers

The environment is very kid friendly and perfect for parents. The staff is very welcoming. Also I see progress in the swimming ability of my children. Our house is located nearby so the location is perfect. We are really happy with Goldfish and its' staff!

Unimpressed is an understatement. Every interaction at the front desk has been completely unhelpful starting from registration. Twice, I inquired about scheduling makeups (in person) and both times I was referred to the parent portal online. So, instead of being able to schedule with the person I was just standing in front of, I had to go home and call to schedule with the same exact person (I know because she said"oh, you were just here").
Despite being told that the instructor(s) will come into the waiting area to announce the class, this has never happened. The instructor has yet to leave the pool between classes (including her replacement last week). So, if you're waiting for an announcement, I guess you'll miss the class.
The instructor has never once introduced herself, so I don't even know her name. This instructor teaches each class the same way, so as the parent you are just expected to know what to do, even if it is your first lesson. The space allotted to mini-twos is greater than just one lane but that also means that I can hardly hear the instructor at all because there are classes going on in every lane simultaneously. This instructor also just moves on to the next exercise regardless of whether or not you have finished the last exercise.
I have a pool, my child does not need to just be comfortable in the water, I need her to learn how to swim. This place is completely hands off, all form is completely dependent on the parent who has no free hands because they are holding their child. My child is not learning anything different from week to week. Each mini-two lesson is a song, practice kicking, practice pulling water towards you, ear to ear, and practice dunking. We have replicated the entire lesson at home since week 2. I canceled (make sure you give 30 days notice) today, after arriving and being told class was canceled because of thunder-not stated in my signed agreement!
Lastly, it is ridiculous to walk out of the heated pool area with a soaking wet toddler into the icebox that is called a waiting area. My makeups are scheduled and I can't wait to be rid of this place.
Update: Thank you for reaching out. I appreciate the efforts made by both manager and owner. I am satisfied with my refund.

You have an amazingly compassionate and supportive team that includes staff at the front desk, the instructors, the lifeguards and all other staff. My 3 year old son has been experiencing a difficult time emotionally, during which he has been having a lot of anxiety. The staff have been wonderful about helping him to feel comfortable and safe and able to trust them. He now looks forward to going to swim lessons and wants to go in the water. I am so grateful for all they have done for him!

The staff is extremely friendly and are always looking to help out if one of my kids are having a hard time. My children love to go each week and they are becoming great swimmers because of the wonderful instructors at goldfish!
