About the Club

Good Life Experience Pilates aka GLE Pilates creates the space for all levels and abilities to exercise the body and mind in a holistic, most-satisfying and challenging way. Founded in 2014 by Cheryl Smith, GLE Pilates in Mt. Vernon is the community’s first and only Pilates studio.

Our Mount Vernon studio is fully-equipped and radiates with natural sunlight in a bright an airy loft. Our private rooftop allows us to get some fresh air and beautiful sunset views for mat workouts and events providing the perfect overall fitness and health experience.

Cheryl and her team at Good Life Experience Pilates have indeed made my life experience better. I am active and in decent shape but tired of the gym routines and trainers and classes. I generally enjoy exercising through activities like running, biking, and playing sports but never found the once or twice a week activity which could serve as a consistent workout every week of the year until I found GLE. My strength, posture, muscle tone and energy have never been better and my state of mind has improved as well. I cant wait for each new class as there are always new ways to use the equipment, and there is always a more challenging and actually fun next level to move up to (see photo). I had a knee replacement a few years ago and none of the rigorous PT I did was nearly as effective as what I do now in Pilates. I highly recommend Cheryl and team to help you achieve any goal youn may have-from improved strength and energy to rehab of any kind-all of this in a very warm and clean environment with good people who you like to hang out and work with.

I’ve had chronic back issues for the majority of my adult life, and until giving Good Life a try, everything I did previously just felt like a band aid (massages, medication, etc) rather than problem solving, which is exactly what Cheryl has been able to do.

I’m truly grateful and equally amazed for her process of diagnosis of the issues that were causing my back pain, and the meticulous effort to work with me through an endless array of exercises. What’s been really eye opening is that this has not just been a way to strengthen the large muscles we all know the names of, but more importantly also the very small muscles that don’t get much attention (if any!) on a regular basis.

After just a handful of sessions, I felt a 75% improvement, and a handful more I’m nearing 100%. Good Life has definitely been life changing for me!

GLE is such a sisterhood magical place.

From the entrance you step into the amazing aromas of custom made teas curated to calm your soul. Then you are immediately greeted with smiles and warm hellos by Cheryl and Mila who are both instructors at GLE.

This was my first time engaging in Pilates and I was definitely intimidated. You hear all these stories about Pilates but I was so intrigued, I had to try it. Upon entering there are several reformers, the conventional reformers and the Cadillac Reformers which the primary difference is the addition of horizontal and vertical bars above the table.

After my first consultation session, I left feeling like maybe it would not be for me BUT when I woke up the next morning sore in muscles I never even knew I had.. well, I WAS IN!!!

I booked a 12 classes packaged for 2 sessions per week and my body and life have been transformed. If you ever had an interest in Pilates I urge you to just try it especially with a women empowered space at GLE. You are going to love it and so will your muscles 😀

I have been coming to the studio for over a year now and it has been a very positive experience for me! Large group classes and gyms overwhelm me, but at GLE every one is friendly and makes you feel so welcomed.

Training with Mila has helped me grow stronger in my core and physique. She provides step by step guidance on the moves, is patient and continues to challenge me to do more. It has been a pleasure to have her as a teacher!

I took this class with my partner to help with his snoring. The following day I noticed improvement in his snoring. It was softer after the first day and less interruptions in the breathing. It was my first time in Pilates and I didn’t know what to expect. It was a great experience. Cheryl was calm and patient. The space is beautiful and airy. We felt stronger at the end of the session. I have alignment issues and this class helped me with building strength. I know physical therapist who recommend Pilates for these issues and now I see why. The price is reasonable and Cheryl won’t disappoint you.

What can I say? I love GLE Pilates! I have gained so much over the past few months in flexibility, balance and strength. I’ve lost many inches all over and can see definition in legs and and arms that I haven’t seen in a long time. Cheryl, Gaysha and Mila are all fantastic. Cheryl is an excellent Pilates instructor, with deep knowledge of the technique. She also understands human biomechanics and customizes sessions to the client's particular needs. Cheryl also constantly makes adjustments to placements to ensure proper stance and optimal outcomes. Her loft studio in Mt. Vernon is a peaceful and serene environment. Great personality too!
