We had such a fantastic experience with Island Xtreme Cheerleading! Nicole did an absolutely excellent job planning and executing my child’s birthday party. From the super easy online registration form to the seamless day-of logistics, everything was fun, organized, and totally stress-free for us as parents. I want to start off that I never ever write reviews but feel inclined to after the awful experience I had with them before my daughter ever even stepped into their gym.

I signed my daughter up in in May 2025 for a what I thought was a cheerleading class starting in September 2025. It was a $50 registration fee and $130 for the first payment installment. In June 2025 my daughter decided she was scared of stunting and did not want to do cheerleading. I asked to be removed from the class and be refunded as it didn’t start for another 3 months. The owner said it is a no refund policy and refused to refund me $180 even though my daughter never stepped into the gym and there were still open spots in the class. I said if they were not going to refund me I would have her come for the month of September since I already paid. She said if they stepped into the gym for 1 class they would charge me another $130! I asked if I could transfer the money to another student (my friend) and she said no that they also don’t allow transfers. So no refunds, she can’t attend for the 1 month I paid for in advance and no transfers. She said I could have a credit which I don’t want or need as my daughter does not want to do cheerleading. She left me with essentially no recourse and I am out $180 without ever entering the place. Awful customer service. I will make it my mission to tell everyone I know and post on all social media groups not to attend this cheerleading facility. Being that I have 2 girls and am very active in the community it wasn’t a smart move on their part.

Despicable!!! My daughter has been enrolled in many many things her whole life and never I have ever been treated in such an offensive way.
I just had a conversation with the owner Melissa and the level of disrespect left me in awe.

My daughter started her tumbling class a few months ago, and I just have not been satisfied with the results. Every time I go to watch my daughter her teachers are on the phone. My daughter confirms this for me as well. I decided to remove her from the class and I emailed to notify them not being aware of the policy regarding the patient portal.

I was never clearly responded to besides an email asking if the phone activity was a weekly occurrence. Not once did she mention a 30 day cancellation through the portal. I allowed the time to go by, my fault, last class was February 7th) and they charged me another $125 for March. Nice way to make money and caring for the costumers who may not have read the full policy. The horrific attitude from the front desk got me very upset and then I was transferred to Melissa the owner which explains why her Front Desk is the way it is.

Be aware of this place and how you’re treated, remember your children look up to these people. I’m very saddened by this situation

I have two daughters who are thriving on different teams, have amazing coaches and consider this gym a second home. The coaches push athletes to their potential without overdoing - it’s a delicate balance that is hard to find elsewhere. IX is a gym where the athletes feel they have a second family within the gym. Highly recommend for anyone looking to further their cheer skills whether it’s with all star teams , half year teams, private lessons or classes/clinics! There’s something for everyone !

Signed my daughter up for cheer and she wasn’t happy so we decided to cancel. Not only were the staff rude about the cancellation but they wouldn’t even refund us for the month that was paid for in advance. Def not a nice way to do business. Forget the money. Just be nice! They will not be getting a single dollar from us again. I recommend you think twice before doing business with this establishment.

My daughter LOVES LOVES islandextreme. The coaches are great and are patient. She was 4 when she started and I was concerned because she was so young but she adjusted well and she is so excited for her 1st competition in May. I chose this school because they offered tumbling for 4yr olds. My daughter’s other gymnastic schools didn’t start teaching tumbling until 6 yrs old and she was really upset by that. She wanted to “flip and jump” like the big girls. The school also offers plenty of private lessons and their parent portal makes everything super easy. Also every time I have spoken to anyone over the phone or in person.. they have been extremely kind and helpful.
Great school and I’m looking forward to my daughter developing her skills here!

This is the 4th year my daughter is attending Island Extreme. We love it there! The coaches are all very knowledgeable and helpful! Island Xtreme has been a second home for my children for many years! Their staff is incredibly knowledgeable , supportive and fun! My daughters coaches and instructors have not only taught them the skills necessary to grow in this sport but they have also taught them how to have confidence in themselves.

My daughter has been part of the Island Xtreme family for three now and absolutely loves it. This is her first season on a comp team and it’s super exciting to watch my daughter do what she loves with so much support from her teammates and coaches. She had and continues to have amazing teachers/coaches who have helped her grow and learn all the stunts correctly. Personally I am not a cheer person and I’m a little out of my comfort zone, but Ms. Connie (who manages the front desk) is wonderful and has patience’s of a saint. She takes the time to explain everything to me, without making me feel bad since I’m not an expert. I highly recommend Island Xtreme.

I cheered there for about 3 years. It was fun and I made friends. But the people there didn’t work as much as I did. Saying this out of experience. The owner of the gym needs the athletes to work harder if they want to win. The stunts need to be harder and the coaches need to stretch their athletes before going into tumbling and stunts. It’s very important to do that. And the practices need to be ended at the time said. Not a half an hour later. Children have school and that’s why you loose your athletes. They need to focus more and actually care about their athletes. Like helping them through mental blocks and not forcing somebody’s to do a skill they are not comfortable with. Every body there were snobs. The coaches are always eating and never doing their job. Yelling at athletes and being in their phones all practice is not appropriate coaching skills. I switched to pac and is much better there. The coaches care for the athletes and work hard while having fun. There’s more things to do there like pac camp team bonding and all that fun stuff. They sometimes rearrange there practices if athletes can’t come so they have a full attendance. And yeah they are hard on us but we win. Moving to pac made me love cheer more. Over here it’s not a competition with each other all the teams cheer for each other and we are a big family. I definitely do not recommend cheering here for long. It causes a mindset and mental block which made me want to quit.

I was cheering for three years and the second year was my only good experience . Otherwise this place is not good. They are rude and have no way of improving us. I want a cheer company that’s gonna make me win not lose. I feel like they need a better family environment and more team bonding experiences. If you can’t do anything they just shove you in the back. Some of the coaches are really rude and they don’t pay attention. The company is not a very good company and nobody works as hard as they should. Their stunts need to be worked on and the lack of energy put into everything was sad. The coaches just told us to warm up and no one would. The practices were not helpful and I felt uncomfortable around certain staff. Only very little coaches that I liked, and the ones I liked all left. The coaches are unprofessional and are always eating and on their phones. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible customer service. I called and left messages , and tried to email and the email did not work. My daughter was sick. Their policy is 24 h in advance but she wasn’t sick 24h in advance and took my money for no services rendered. I called multiple times with my number but they did not even call me, they called my daughter who is a minor and did not pay for the class , I did ,and they didn’t even have the decency to call me. We’ve been there before for privates and will never go back. They are very rude. Very poor customer service. .

My daughter is a Middle School Competitive Cheer leader. she has done clinics and stuff in the past, but she really loves competitive cheer and wanted to take her skills to the next level and compete more. we were recommended to Island Xtreme. She has been coming here for a few weeks now for open mats and enrolled in a class a couple of weeks ago. She loves Leo and Julliet. she has social anxiety and She has been made to feel welcome by the coaches and the other girls. I would give 10 stars if i could. We cannot wait for evaluations in May so she can be placed on a team here too. Notice all the great reviews are objective about the center while the negative ones are few and far between, usually sour grapes from people not happy about a position given their kid rather than being a team player and ignoring the work of other girls. this is a great place. there is friendliness, and pure love of the sport here. tTheir communications is terrific and you always know what is going on. All are welcome!

I don’t normally write reviews but I believe this deserves to be heard. My daughter was on this team for almost two year before I had to finally cut ties and pull her. She has been a flyer always but for some reason even though they had choreography. She was told to stand in the backgrounds. She was pulled from her spot and was told to either tumble ( last year) and stand in the back this year. I have spoken with the owner and coaches but got nowhere. They made up lies saying she told them she didn’t want to fly. That was a lie because she would come home crying about how she was told to tumble on her own during practices and how she basically is standing around in the routine. The coaches and owner did not care or maybe the owner just believed their lies. She’s not there most of the time ( at least I rarely saw her. To top the cake choreography was scheduled during school after I told them months prior she started early. Another thing we paid for shoes in June and she was the only one who never received them. If anyone has any other questions I have multiple pictures and emails. Don’t waste your time. Find another gym

Also pay close attention to the fact that after my review they now have 3 new reviews. All reviews were done on the same day and all positive. That right there should tell you something.

This program far exceeded my expectations; knowledgable, results driven, fantastic, friendly coaches. Facilities are the perfect environment for stunting and tumbling; high ceilings, new mats, spotless. My children are on the all star teams and couldn't be happier. Out of all the cheerleading places this has to be the worst! The coaches are rude and disrespectful and my daughter was a flyer then to get rid of her they said that she said she didn't know what a squash was which she does because she went to another place and she was the best flier for 4 years and they said she had no experience.
