This is a good LA Fitness. Good amount of machines, a pool, sauna, basketball court, exercise rooms, etc. The facility could improve on a few things, like the pool. The water jet stream on one side of the pool only pushes out cold water, which is great in the summer, but horrible in the winter, unless you’re a polar bear. It is a shame that it is closing, but there are a few others ten to fifteen minutes away. Too bad though.

This company of public gyms is great for people who don’t mind spending the extra money for a membership. For the somewhat higher price point, including a pool and basketball court it’s better suited for more advanced athletes who really need space and time to train outside of work and other things etc. The staff is always cool and very respectful and all around La Fitness is a chill vibe.

I got elbowed bad playing basketball here today, this is one of my favorite locations and things happen it is what it is. But one of the employees named Nick was extremely attentive and helpful when I came up leaking looking for paper towel. He made sure I was ok and didn’t need an ambulance and got me all the things I needed to clean up and make sure I was good.

He was polite and professional through it all and I’m very grateful for his help. Anyone else coulda been like “here’s your paper towel feel better” but Nick genuinely wanted to make sure I was alright through it all. Thank you Nick!

They should never have fired Veronica. She kept the gym immaculate compared to Lake Grove. She was a ray of sunshine with a friendly smile. If the gym returns to its former dirty state, I'm gone. Hire Veronica back.

I have some complain about the rules for the jacuzzi and pool.
People is getting into it with clothes and without taking a shower which make the pool smells horrible sometimes
and also there are bandaids around it.
It seems like no body is taking care of the rules and maintenance of this place, Centereach at one point was the best in Long Island.
My recommendation to keep this place as it was before, is to place bigger signs with the rules to educate and follow follow the rules!

I loved this gym until recently. Feels Ike the beginning days of la fitness in centereach. Back when it was filthy.

There’s nothing worse than going to the gym and it feels like you’re sweating in a trash can. Machines are dirty. Garbage on the floor. How can this be? This is because they fired the woman that cleans the place.

Why the hell would you fire someone that kept this gym immaculate. Veronica was a key component to keeping this gym a 5 star gym. She was like a cleaning machine. You could eat off the floor. She busted her ass with a smile. Foolish mistake on letting Veronica go.

Bring back Veronica or replace the manager with someone more competent.

Unique fitness is right down the road. If Veronica doesn’t come back, I’ll be leaving this trash can of a gym and going elsewhere.

If youre like me, you enjoy walking into a clean and well kept gym. A gym that is so pristine it makes you forget about how horrible your life at home is. This gym gave me that vibe for a while. My peers would ask me where I get my gains from, I responded with "Made in LA Centereach" and I would hang my head high while saying it with my chest. I boasted about how well kept this gym was to all my friends and family. The feeling of self entitlement and knowing that I belong to such an elite gym would ravish thru the ears of everyone I knew.

Until they fire Veronica(The cleaning lady)..... This is what I call a nexus event. A brief lesson for the non-nerds out there..., this is an event in the timeline that creates a chain reaction thus ultimately destroying the universe. A bit extreme, I know. But how else could I express my disappointment when I heard about Veronica being fired. She kept all the things in order. Without her, this could potentially be the end of this gym forever.

When people now ask me what gym is the best, Im reluctant to say LA Fitness Centereach. Make this gym great again and bring back Veronica!

I came in with double knee replacements after not advancing in pt and started training under curtis’s programming and ive made almost full recovery using unique techniqes and tens machinery also specific pool exercises it’s now been 6weeks and my overall strength and confidence is through the roof his knowledge on how the body works specifically with the knees hips and back are revolutionary he doesn’t emphasize on body building teqnique as much as he focuses on strengthening the weaknesses he and the staff there work so well together to keep the ever needing demands up 🆙 for the clients who need it All the locations are great but for physical recovery see Curtis 1st 🥇

They charged another membership fee ,the yearly charge and upped the monthly charge from 39 to 49.

The professionalism of some of the staff is appalling. We use the only trap bar in the gym, located in the training area weekly, never with an issue. One of the personal trainers later confronted my boyfriend in the middle of his workout and started the conversation with “ don’t interfere you don’t intimidate me.” He came at him posturing aggressively and told he was going to knock him out and to meet him outside. My boyfriend did not react and continued his workout. The trainer came back with the general manager and again started threatening my boyfriend in front of the manager. He later received a call from corporate, telling him to not use the trap bar in the area. When the behavior of the trainer was mentioned, he stated “that does not sound like Curtis,” and denied this ever happening, despite the general manager being present for the event. It is disgusting that management allows PAYING MEMBERS to be treated like this in their gym.

Treadmills and stair masters are bad to horrible. Treds are off balanced, most noticeable when running. Out of 5 stair climbers, at least 2 are out of service at any time. The rest of the gym is good. Always see the cleaners cleaning. Lockerrooms are always clean.

I cannot say enough great things about Tania who teaches Zumba on Sat and Sun. I have taken Zumba for years and Tania is by far my favorite. She engages with the class with her upbeat personality and you never look at the clock. She is always positive and that has a great impact on the class. If you’re looking to have fun, sweat and make new friends this is the class for you! I highly recommend taking any of Tania’s classes.

I have been to several of their clubs on Long Island and Farmingville is by far the cleanest and most updated. Centereach location is filthy, machines broken and staff are useless. Maintenance staff a gentleman in particular does nothing but talk on his phone and drink his coffee. Complaints were made to desk manager who also sits there and does nothing. Locker rooms dirty, and garbage and dirty paper towels left by machines. Pins missing on weight machines. Treadmill belts wavy which can lead to accidents. Sad to say for a fairly new gym it needs a lot of work and a better staff!
Take your money and join another gym, there are less expensive and much cleaner gyms around! One star cause I had to rate! Otherwise I would have given none.

Front desk is always friendly. Lifeguards play on their phones all shift. Weights are never reranked when the gym first open. Bathrooms are always gross and moldy. I know pink mold when I see it. Some Machines are broken.
