I just wanted to try the 3-day guest pass here and the experience was horrible. I had just 40min to check the gym out before a super long drive

And someone talked to me the ENTIRE 40 MINUTES trying to sell me on a gym package i needed to buy right that second.

I understand showing the gym around and explaining memberships but I think it’s fair to keep it to no more than 20min.

I was so angry at the end of that - didn’t even get to test the gym out and didn’t have a lot of time, definitely don’t want to get a membership at this location

Anyway, I asked if I could use the guest pass a different week bec the entire time was this guy trying to sell me and get me to buy right that second

And he said no, bc he already activated it - they activated a pass I didn’t even get to use and couldn’t reverse it. He did say I could come and check it out ONE day if I come in and explain the situation …

And now they keep texting me and calling me (3 calls and a couple texts) to come back

A gym has never ever ever done this, maybe a 10-15min intro. Maybe 20 if the convo is good - but 40min are you kidding? AND. He said during the 40 min he’ll rush explain. It takes you 40 minutes RUSHING to explain memberships?

I don’t have time to keep talking to them this is insane

I am part of the daily 5am crew. More often than not the gym looks like there was a fire the night before and everyone had to drop what they were doing and run. The dumbbells are all over the place both on the main floor and in the group class room. I am becoming incredibly tired of having to scan the dumbbell rack and see what’s there, or have to wander around the gym and find what should be sitting there. When people are openly having conversations with one another about “what a mess this place is” - it should say something.

As an avid gym goer , I have been to a number of gym around the area. I’ve tried the north Babylon and the lindenhurst LA Fitness but the farmingdale by far was my favorite . The staff was very helpful and the facility was well maintained! My only complaint is that there should be a tree the place all the attachments and add more ropes especially if you’re trying to perform a unilateral movement.

Pool water EVEN DIRTIER! now that Huntington Station has been closed well neigh 2 MONTHS! .
-STILL NOT WORKING! STILL WAITING FOR SECONDARY APPROVAL! SECONDARY!
SO, i ride bike 5 miles to goto disgusting cloudy pool for just 15 minute swim after surgery.
The impersonal and gruff "lifeguard" closes pool as "chlorine has gone to Zero, the pool is closed".
What? It's 11:00am, open since 05:00, and the "lifeguard" let this primordial ooze of over used pool water's chlorine go to ZERO!
Not only is LA Fitness inconveniencing me, it is trying to sicken us, and the do nothing unhelpful pool staff does nothing about physically cleaning pool or deck or ANYTHING, and ignores testing and balance to close 2 pools in two clubs!
UNBELIEVABLE!
I'm grateful there WAS a potential pool after LA Fitness charges us 100% consistently but operates only occasionally in the 50% range overall.
SAD. Lack of leadership and pride.

I’ve been doing Body Works Plus Abs for years, and it’s always been a structured, effective workout with a clear plan and purpose. The 8:30 AM Sunday class with Sabrina was the total opposite. It felt like she was making it up as she went along, based on how she felt and whatever music was playing—no sets, no focus, no real workout. Just a mix of strange cardio-dance moves and random stretches that didn’t make any sense. She even made weird noises at the end of certain movements, which just added to the confusion. And to top it off, there were no 7.5-pound weights available. Complete waste of time.

The gym area is like any other LA Fitness, good value.
HOWEVER, the “spa” area is HORRIFYINGLY DISGUSTING at this location - at least for the Men’s locker room side.
-A genuine health hazard, STEER CLEAR!
-Management should be ashamed of themselves for letting it get this bad at this location, it is TARNISHING THE BRAND IMAGE of LA Fitness - and it has been this way for almost a full year since I joined. Other locations are not like these conditions AT ALL.
-To spare the disgusting details, SHOWERING after the whirlpool hot tub or lap pool is just NOT AN OPTION at this location. It is a safer bet to just drive home covered in chlorine rather than expose yourself to these unsanitary conditions. I was APALLED the last time I had to go here (after not coming back to the Farmingdale location for half a year due to these issues) when the hot-tub was down at the Levittown location last week. I refuse to go back to this location until major changes.
-The bathroom is even worse, it seems untenable, like beyond repair. It almost feels like they would have to gut and renovate the entire men’s side of the spa to get it “clean” again - it’s insane, like an episode of extreme hoarders on TLC level of dirty.

This LA Fitness location doesn't give a damn about their members. The front desk staff is polite and present but the gym floor is a mess. I was told by management that they don't have enough night employees to put the weights away. I believe people should put their own weights away....but if they dnt maintenance staff definitely should. I was told by management that it wasn't the maintenance guys job to putthe weights away....whose job is it then? About half the machines have a defect or broken part, no paper towels in the men's room, broken suana and the worst of all the lifeguard at night is on his phone HIS ENTIRE SHIFT! THAT IS APPALLING! THE MAINTENANCE GUY AT NIGHT IS NAMED JOEY, WHEN I ASKED for his name to hold him accountable he lied to me and told me a different name....wish I could give negative stars. At check in, I scanned to check in my guest and I, the staff was on their phone and not paying attention. the staff accused my guest and I of not checking in and continued to be on their phone and argued with me. One thing i go here is for the sauna. It has been down countless amount of times. I have been very understanding through the construction and again it was down for the temprature trouble shoot but this is too much. As of 7/22/24 this facility with specific regard to the men's bathroom, shower and locker areas are completely filthy, disgusting and pose a serious health hazard.
Floors, walls, ceilings have dirt, mildew & human gunk.
Toilets & their walls have human feces.
Sinks have dirt, mildew, & human gunk.
Drains smell like sewer.
Bathroom Stalls have bugs, smell, have mildew, human gunk.
Lockers inside filthy.
This is my second email in less than 1 month. No change has occurred even though I received an email from LA Fitness apologizing and promising to cure.

The men's area needs to be professionally power washed and disinfected.

Idk why I keep my membership. I workout everyday and it just gets worse. Why do the weights smell like rotting cabbage? Machines stay broken for months. The saunas never are functional. Half the equipment is broken, and has been broken for months despite the signs that say “scheduled for service”. Most of the equipment is missing the pins so you have to travel around the gym to find one on another machine and most of the pins aren’t the right size. I once saw a guy using a punching bag and the thing fell from the ceiling! I don’t know if he complained or not but I’d be upset, that’s a hazard. There are beige walls that are patched up with white paint, no attempt to make it look decent, and the signs that say “wet paint” have been there for months. The place is embarrassing.

Today, I specifically called LA Fitness to inquire about playing squash, as it was my first time trying. I meticulously confirmed all details, including any additional fees. I was assured over the phone that there would be no extra charges for playing squash, only a reservation was needed, and even when I inquired about whether rackets were included, the front desk staff confirmed everything was free for use. However, upon my arrival, I was faced with a completely different scenario, being told I had to purchase my own racket.

This inconsistency between what was promised over the phone and the reality on-site not only wasted my time and effort but also left me extremely disappointed. The discrepancy between the commitments made over the phone and the actual situation upon arrival makes me question the integrity and service quality of this fitness club. Isn’t this a blatant disrespect and manipulation of customers? I hope my experience serves as a wake-up call for LA Fitness to improve their service processes, ensuring the accuracy of information to prevent other customers from experiencing similar inconveniences. Consequently, I would not recommend this company to any of my friends.

I brought my daughter as a guest and the moment I walked in the front desk manager immediately called me out on not checking in the guests name and claim that I do this all the time when this is the first time I came back to this location in a long time. I used to really like this club. Now it’s worth skipping. The fire marshall is constantly showing up and evacuating the building because the alarm is constantly “broken” and hasn’t been fixed… and this has gone on for more than a year.

Equipment is constantly broken and not fixed or if it is “fixed” it works for a few weeks only to break again.

The members actively work to keep the weights from being re racked appropriately and will actively come after and shame people for re racking their weights… so looking for the single pair of 20 lb dumbbells could take you twenty minutes or more.

Add to that the fact that management is not enforcing things like taking pictures of people or using headphones- so plenty of members just skip headphones completely leading to a cacophony of noise and different types of music all trying to drown each other out.

Complaints to management and they suggested I either deal with it or quit my membership. Switched to Pro Fit in Deer Park. That gym is a GEM.

The location is garbage 0 stars
- the male staff peek into the woman’s locker room and stare at the changing women, a lot of members have been very uncomfortable with this , and even under new management they haven’t fixed any of these problems
- the locker rooms are dirty
- the water fountains are always broken
- the staff have terrible attitude they go out of their way to be rude and disrespectful
- the male janitors won’t clean the bathrooms properly and spend most of the time staring at the women changing or trying to look at them.
I was getting my stuff together and as I was leaving a lady in a long sweater was pissy and rude and told me that my la fitness membership will be revoked just because I was 3 minutes late after 7:00pm on a Sunday. And she started complain to everyone that I was late ( by 3 minutes ) prior to this the at 6:40 I was changing and the male staff always does this thing where they try to see if any females in the bathroom and they will repetitively not clean the bathrooms but check the female bathroom through out the day, they hire a lot of creeps and pissy woman.
Also a lot of collage students that work here that just flirt with all the other staff and date around and don’t even check people in or do their job, it’s very unprofessional. When will this location ever have good staff??

Bad odor since you enter, the staff doesn’t even welcome you and they’re always talking between them you need to say “hey” 3 times if you need something. 1980 machines in the worst possible shape and half of the machines are perpetually scheduled for service, dumbbells are randomly placed so you lose half hour trying to find the pair. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this gym if you take your fitness the slightest bit seriously. The barbells and plates all suck and aren’t color coded, there are no platforms for deadlifts and Olympic lifts, none of the benches have safety pins so you always have to ask for a spot, they don’t offer clamps for their barbells, and there’s only 3 squat racks which are almost always taken. On top of all that the place is a mess, weights are just lying all over the floor, no one re racks the weights (including the employees), and I’ve been staring at an empty Celsius can on top of the ez curl bar rack for almost 2 weeks. Only reason I gave them two stars is because I like the sauna. Luckily I’m only in NY for a few weeks a year so I'm not stuck with this dump. If I wasn’t getting a good deal through usaa and it wasn’t down the block from my house I would definitely find another gym to use while I’m in NY.

Am janitor has to go, he curses at me and other members, every morning! (Always when cleaning the walkway to the locker rooms, I understand it's annoying to clean a spot ppl are walking through, but only one way in and one way out so wat are we supposed to do?) And today I watch him dump a whole gallon of bleach on the floor to clean, my lungs and eyes where both burning while I was in there - zero exaggeration.
For the gym it self, weights are always horribly disorganized and machines take forever to get fixed
