We are a completely PRIVATE facility, you don't have to worry about navigating crowded gyms, if the person before you wiped down their equipment (gross), and best of all no more gym anxiety! Just you and your coach in a safe, clean and private space.
Our Registered Dietitian (not some so-called "nutritionist" that took a two-day course online) Breeanna is also here to help you find a sustainable and healthy relationship with food and finally get off the diet roller coaster (I no more jumping from plan to plan or keeping you off your favorite foods forever)

Lapine’s small group training program is supportive, approachable, and holds me accountable. I love working out in a clean and semi private space where I don’t have to wait 20+ minutes for a machine. I have lost weight and gotten stronger in only 4 months. The trainers are welcoming and knowledgeable. The programs they create for you are personalized with your input and goals in mind. I would recommend any friend try out Lapine if you have specific goals, need help getting back to the gym, or want a stress free workout plan!

Weight training videos were too easy to ignore! LFS offers the combination I was looking for-- the routine of sessions at a certain time and place, the expertise to put together a personalized program that works for my body and my goals, and the accountability and encouragement that I need to keep up with the workouts. The trainers are very friendly and welcoming. They help me keep the proper form of the exercises to get the full benefit, and are there to bump up the weight or reps when I am able to progress. After two months I am already stronger, and I look forward to my workouts. It would have been too hard to do this on my own. I am so glad I found LFS!

LFS is the best. It's a super supportive studio -- the coaches are all so friendly, motivating, + great at giving feedback and pushing you to the next level. Absolutely great environment and coaches! As someone with a movement/dance background and practice, gyms haven’t often been my number 1 choice of staying active and have usually been quite intimidating for me in the past — however, this was the best experience I could have wished for!
Lapine Fitness isn’t your typical bro-y place either — there’s also lots of non-males who go there (and the men I encountered there are super sweet and respectful), which I really enjoyed. The best gym environment you can wish for!

I’ve been looking for a workout experience that offers accountability, community, and a safe and supportive space to move myself toward my own goals. LFS is exactly that! Workouts are individually designed and tracked, and the coaches have helped me make adjustments when something hurts or isn’t working for my body. Amy was my primary trainer and one time with Gabe , they are both fantastic, they create a great atmosphere and a positive, welcoming environment. From what I observed, each trainer works with about two to three people, allowing for more focused attention.

I started going to Lapine Fitness in August 2024. I am definitely NOT a fitness guru, aficionado, fanatic, but I was interested in challenging my mind and my body and seeing what would happen if I poured a little soul into it. Joining Lapine is like becoming part of the best kind of ramshackle family - we all show up, do our best, cheer each other on, and put our best foot forward. We swear a little. Laugh a lot. And all the while are coaxed, cajoled and celebrated by some of the best coaches in the industry - expert, caring and all-round "good people". Thank you, Paul and all the family, for helping me to go from deadlifting 70 pounds to 145 pounds in under 12 months! I didn't even realise how far I'd come! This place has changed my life. I went because my girl was going there, and I stayed because it changed my body. There is an atmosphere unlike any other gym I’ve ever attended. Not too macho, very chill, yet extremely focused. Major accountability with the scheduling system, competitive qualities with the layout of the actual Physical Space, and an incredible staff. Attentive in every single way possible. This place winds up being the best gym I have ever belonged to— Because I Always want to show up. Even when I don’t.

Lapine fitness is everything they say it is. Small group workout sessions allowing for a more personalized workout. Staff will cater workout routines to accommodate any medical limitations you may have. All of the staff is super knowledgeable, friendly and very courteous . The studio is very clean. Their online booking system is extremely user friendly … I actually look forward to my work outs ( most of the time 😊)

I was working on my health goals almost 2 years. All the trainers I worked with were great, caring, and very well versed/ knowledgeable in their training skills. The trainers always worked with me whatever injury, aches, pains going on that day. Sad to go but only leaving due to emergent family situation. I’ve been a pretty fit person my whole life but really sticking to the same thing, namely cardio and some ab work outs from youtube. It wasn’t working for me, and when my back started to tweak I knew I needed some help. The trainers at Lapine are top notch! So so respectful, prepared, and eager to prioritize what it is I was looking for: strengthening my back, mobility, and leaning out my muscles (of course some weight loss was always welcome). Always a great work out- the coaches are very knowledgeable and great at explaining why certain exercises are useful, where you should be feeling it, etc., and they’re really good about modifying exercises as needed and giving personalized advice. They even set me up with workouts that I can do on my own outside of the small group sessions, which was really appreciated. I love the flexibility with scheduling, and the studio itself is bright, clean, and a welcoming space. Just like the trainers, the members are also very supportive and down to earth. Doing personal training at Lapine Fitness Studio in Park Slope is one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself. I'm ~5.5 months in and have gotten stronger, more energetic, and more confident in what my body can do. I've worked with Paul, Amy, Casey, Tanner, and Gabe and they are all extremely knowledgeable and friendly and give thoughtful feedback.
The Small Group training environment is awesome. Seeing other trainees at different stages of their training journey is so motivating and everyone cheers each other on! Paul and the team do a great job to build the community beyond our sessions through regular events as well.
The workouts are challenging and work a variety of muscle groups. Every few weeks, you'll graduate to a new program to keep you challenged as you get stronger.
Finally, they use a variety of technology to help you track your progress, view your upcoming and completed workouts, and schedule or reschedule sessions. This makes it really convenient to plan your week and stay on track!
If you have health or fitness goals and you're looking for something to make you accountable in meeting them, if you're looking for training that will push you beyond the limits you impose on yourself, and if you're looking to meet some awesome people who are also in that same mindset, Lapine Fitness Studio is for you! Training at LFS is the best thing I've done for myself in years. The coaches are so welcoming and caring, and at the same time they motivate you to make measurable progress. I joined LFS in August 2024 and have been really happy with my decision to join the gym. Prior to joining, I loved fitness (especially lifting), but with a busy work schedule, found that I wasn't prioritizing working out. LFS has been providing the accountability I've been looking for, and I haven't skipped a single session in my first 6 months there.
The trainers are all very knowledgable and super kind. They're also really receptive to feedback and are happy to tailor workout programs based on that feedback and your overall goals. The people who join LFS are also very kind. Its a non-intimidating environment, and I genuinely enjoy being there.
Despite being marketed more towards folks newer to fitness and weights, there is a great mix of those who are new and experienced. I've found that I continue to be really challenged there and have learned lots of new things despite having spent years in weight rooms. I've seen great progress both in terms of how heavy I'm lifting and the way I look since I've joined, and looking forward to continuing to see this progress.

Earlier this year I realized that I had fallen into a fitness slump. While it was easy to motivate myself to do a cardio workout, strength training often felt like a chore. I also struggled with consistency. I knew I needed to find a gym where I could be held accountable, but I didn’t want to have to rush to sign up for a desirable time slot or get stuck with a 6 am session because it was the only one available. Lapine Fitness Studio (LFS) showed up as an ad on my Instagram and I soon found myself on a zoom call with the founder Paul Lapine. My goal was to find out more information but by the end of our conversation, I had scheduled my first workout!
It’s been 3 months, and I haven’t looked back. A lot of times when you join a gym it can feel intimidating or impersonal, but LFS is the opposite. When you enter the space, you’re typically greeted with a friendly hello and introduced to the other people training with you that day. Since it’s small group personal training, you have 1 trainer and then a max of 4 people working with that trainer. At the most there will never be more than 8 people total training in the gym at one time. This setup enables a high level of personal attention without the higher cost of one-on-one training. Additionally, the other members I’ve interacted with are all nice and friendly and it generally seems like a welcoming and supportive community.
Each person has their own workout station and an individualized workout plan that aligns with their goals and interests and takes into consideration any injuries you might have. The trainers walk around, continuously checking in, correcting your form, and giving you tips. They also set up your equipment so you’re ready to go for the next set.
In the time that I’ve been there I’ve been surprised at how much stronger I’m getting. I’m lifting weights heavier than I’ve lifted in my life. When left to my own devices I don’t push myself in the weight room. Here I’ve learned I’m more capable and stronger than I thought.
Overall LFS is one of the best gyms that I’ve been a member of. But don’t take my word for it, schedule an appointment and check it out for yourself.

Six months ago I was looking at options for personal training in Park Slope. I was looking for consistency and accountability and found it immediately. I wanted to continue rehab efforts and build strength. Paul and his team cater programs around my goals, even as they evolve. The programs change every six weeks or so, so nothing feels stale and I can see and feel the progress week in and week out. There are frequent check-ins, communication is terrific, and I couldn’t say enough great things about the trainers. The place and the crew just motivate me. I look forward to it every week!

Can't say enough good things about Paul and this studio. I joined up with Paul and his squad in November 2023 to train for an annual hike of the Grand Canyon. At the time I was feeling bored with my at-home routine and missing the accountability of having a friend to work out with so I took a leap. I have been working around a life-long mobility issue and have tried other fitness programs, chronically disappointed by the lack of focus to form. The small group coaching session way of operating has been amazing for me, and specifically Paul and his team's expertise, attention to detail and continued flexibility. They listen to what I need and when I say hey man, I'm getting bored - they adjust. They help me push myself in a way that accommodates my injuries and help set me up to succeed rather than chronically injure myself and lose motivation. I mostly train with Nate these days and love him, he listens if I'm having a bad day and will change programming around on the fly based on it. Having mobility issues shouldn't hinder anyone from being fit and I'm so grateful to have found a place that has been able to support my goals. The crew is a nice blend of people new to fitness and people further along in their journey - I say that as I was a bit hesitant based on the ads that it would be too "newbie" oriented and boring for me. The programming works in a way that can accommodate wherever you're at and Paul encourages being vocal and giving feedback which I've genuinely appreciated so much. Will be here as long as my budget allows me!

I highly recommend Paul Lapine Fitness. To quote a great college football coach, Paul "attacks each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind!" His high level of motivation is contagious and I've never felt as encouraged by personal trainers in the past. The correctives he gives me on things like posture or positioning when I'm doing each exercise are spot on, he is super-knowledgeable, and it's clear he is excited about doing this work and helping people feel better.
Paul did an intake conversation with me where we identified what I want to focus on most, and he created an individual plan for me that targeted those goals. (You can see the other folks in your session are working on different exercises.) He has regularly referred back to those goals, and it's nice to feel that level of personalization. I definitely felt very "heard."
This is "small group training," not one-on-one, so If you need your trainer's attention 100% of the workout, this is not for you. But I am really enjoying the small group training (2-3 other clients share the session) because of the added comradery; it's nice to meet some neighbors sharing common challenges and goals. Since it's catering to a Park Slope/Brownstone Brooklyn clientele, it feels especially geared toward middle-age parents like me who have struggled to find time to workout consistently. I feel really lucky to have found Lapine Fitness!

I joined Lapine Fitness Studio a few months ago after looking for an affordable personal trainer in Park Slope. I saw all the 5-star reviews and figured it was worth a try. Best decision I ever made! I’ve found that I really like the small-group training sessions, and that I get just as much personalized attention as if it were an individual session. The workouts are all individualized and modified as needed, and the trainers are all so professional and personable. Anyone looking for a good place to do semi-private strength and fitness training, I highly recommend Lapine Fitness. The owner, Paul Lapine, has really figured out a perfect formula for small, intimate, and well-structured training in a semi-private format. From my first online meeting with him, I knew LFS was going to offer high quality training, and I was right! I'm working with Emilio, who has developed a routine for me that is focused on building strength and bone density, and even after three weeks, I am already feel that my form has improved and I have already gained strength. LPS also offers nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian, which is something most places don't offer. If you want the full fitness package, this place is great, especially if you don't like the crowded, noisy gym culture. The location is perfect for anyone living in Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Park Slope, Gowanus, and even Red Hook. My 20 minute walk from Pk Slope is the perfect warm-up and I arrive warm and ready to go!

I got into kettlebells through Simple & Sinister, but quickly realized that, with the repetitive daily movements, I’d be setting myself up for a lot of pain if my form was lacking. Since Paul is certified, I asked if he could watch me and make sure that wouldn’t happen. In just a few sessions, he not only made me confident that I could do these movements every day with heavier weight than I initially thought and showed me how to utilize more parts of my body during the exercises, but he identified some weaknesses in various rotations in my body and gave me some simple (but challenging) exercises to improve my trouble areas. It’s been 5 months and I’ve never felt more confident in my body. Now I’m obsessed with doing CARSs and have seen a great improvement in my general mobility. Thanks, Paul!

Great studio personalized for your specific needs. Even if you don't know what you need- it's a great place to start. I first came in with a general goal of getting in better shape. Paul worked with me to set more specific goals and target areas of interest based on my wants/needs. He was very attentive and instructive about form and was happy to answer any questions I had. The experience felt very personalized. He would recognize if I was either having trouble or excelling with a certain task to adapt the exercise to be most suitable for my comfort level. I have been training with LFS for several months and the results have been really fantastic. I've never really had great results with weight loss and muscle tone until I started training with Paul and his team. As a runner and inline skater, I get a lot of cardio exercise but often neglected weight training to avoid "bulking up". Paul and his team are really knowledgeable and good at what they do - they take the time to explain the process behind everything and adjust the workout to your individual fitness goals. This training facility is unique in that it is a truly 1-on-1 personalized approach to fitness. The space is well equipped, clean, and private. I recently had a great boxing workout here! Paul and I worked together for a couple years while I was in NYC. I wanted to box but have chronic neck tension, which prevented me from enjoying a lot of other sports. Paul was able to come up with a hybrid training/therapy approach -- we were able to build muscle, condition cardio, and develop technique, all while improving neck tension. I love working out with Paul! He’s really dynamic and can build a workout that’s perfect for you and your fitness level. I started out doing a group workout class with friends, pre Covid, and that lead to a couple of two on one sessions with him and my best friend. Best excuse to workout and catch up, and done so in a way that left us able to still talk without being too out of breathe but still sweating by the end of it. Now I do weekly virtual workouts with him and my boyfriend and he really helps to hold us accountable and is great at pivoting if we don’t have the right equipment, are super stressed that day or even just adapting to both of our needs.
