Under the expert guidance of Hanshi (Master) Rande Lawrence, students of all ages and abilities come together to learn self-defense, improve fitness, and increase mental and physical strength. Discipline, courtesy and respect form the cornerstone of the dojo and Hanshi Lawrence’s teaching style.

Randy Lawrence is a caring and compassionate instructor, my daughter has special needs and has difficulty expressing her emotions but he directly addresses her concerns and understands the need for a different approach. I think Randy and his staff do a great job and highly recommend.

This dojo is fantastic! Randy Lawrence is a wonderful patient instructor who is great with kids of all ages and levels of ability.

I participate with my kids, which includes teenagers and gradeschool kids. One of my children is developmentally challenged, and Randy's patience amazes me. He is so good at working with these special needs kids to train them up. I would recommend this dojo to anyone.

My kids love it here! I can't say enough about Hanshi. He may seem quiet and reserved, but he knows how to teach and lead kids. He amazes me with his patience and ability to include, involve and motivate people of all abilities. He has a fair share of students with disabilities and that makes it even more impressive. Every time we come here for social events (i.e. halloween or holiday parties), I'm taken aback by the diversity of the people that come here. I don't think I've seen a more diverse "community" anywhere else. Oh, yeah, my wallet likes it better than any other place, too.

Hanshi Rande Lawrence is the type of teacher you wish could teach you everything you ever need to learn. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, flexible and is equally adept at teaching 3-year-olds, 30-year-olds and 60-year-olds. He is truly a gift and my family's love of karate is a result of him and his dojo. We could not recommend him more!

We love this place!!
It came highly recommend by my husband’s Aikido/martial art teacher.
Hanshi Rande is very hands on, and is always there teaching or supervising classes. Children look up to him and learn by example. No matter how spirited or shy, bubbly or introverted your child is he will find a way to get through to him and get the best out of him/her. Adults love it too.

We previously tried other two popular karate places in the Manlius and DeWitt areas before finding Rande’s WCK. We had bad experiences there. I wish we knew about WCK right from the beginning. This is the reason I decided to write this review.
Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

This is an amazing dojo with an amazing Hanshi that cultivates an amazing culture of respect and sportsmanship. This dojo has deep roots and decades of experience in traditional Goju Ryu and Shotokan karatedo. They will patiently challenge you according to your ability, dedication and state of fitness. Every adult student of higher rank has assisted me in some way in my training. If I had children I would trust Shihan Lawrence like family to educate my children, he treats them like family. In fact all students are treated like family. This dojo has a very nice new location at Lyndon corner as of summer 2018.

Best dojo in Syracuse. Warm friendly no pressure environment. Our oldest has been a student since 2007 & our youngest started in 2012. Recently my husband & I joined after years of watching. It looked like so much fun. Not only is karate fun, I personally have found that a lot of my aches and pains are gone. We feel great! The kids get a kick watching mom & dad practice. I can not say enough about Rande Lawrence & his group of instructors. It not about the fancy equipment & patches down the legs. This is karate in its purest & simplest form. Thank you Hanshi for all you do.
