I recently signed up for the gym and so far experienced no issues until I decided to join their rumba class the gym offers with the membership….3 minutes into the class my mother and I (who are both Arabs with hijabs on) were preparing our mat and the instructor of the class named SORAYA TEJADA LOPEZ decided it was appropriate to scream in the mic “ZIP IT” because we were quietly talking about our dumbbells. I asked her if she was speaking to me she said said yes and continued to scream at my mother and I in front of the whole class. It was an embarrassing and humiliating moment being blasted in front of everyone for the simple fact that we are Arabs & Muslim …. I’ve lived in New York City my entire life and never encountered racism until today I’m very disappointed but the receptionist was very kind and decided to confront the instructor, unfortunately nothing happened and the instructor was let off w out even giving an apology. Absolutely do not recommend.

As soon as enter the gym to sign up two very rude girls gave me the weird look, I said hello I’m here to sign up, she goes “do you know the price” with the rudest tone of voice. I felt so weird and walked out, very bad first impression.

Club is unsanitary half the time with the same old machines. The cleaning woman seems clueless and doesn’t do a good job. Members are not first priority here because the staff are generally dismissive and have attitudes most of the time and chatting about life and gossiping about members. The management is rude and aggressive and will be looking for another gym. Boring gym with deadbeat staff.

I have been coming to the gym for over a decade, and wanted to leave a review as the negative reviews I'm seeing are absolutely false!
This gym is nothing short of amazing!
The front desk is very warm and welcoming every time you come in!
The classes are great and the instructors really make you work out! Music is always up to par.
This gym is cleaner than all the gyms I've been to, and the reason I always go here is bc of how clean and professional it is!
The music is always upbeat and not too loud! And the Equiptment is FULL! There are so many cardio machines, no one has to wait!
They have all the strength training machines and weights that you need, including the TRX system.
I highly recommend this gym and I highly enjoy the staff and their help always!
Don't waste your time elsewhere! This is the gym to be!

The customer service is horrible and they charge you money even when your freeze your subscription, they even yelled at me. When I told them they charge too much, they canceled my subscription. My friends told that it was a bad place but I didn't listen to them and now I regret it. I have never dealt with this location and I had a horrible experience so be careful dealing with this club. Without any notification or agreement, they charged me annual fee with 2 months monthly fees (total $210) that I had requested and they refused to refund. It a clear fraud. I had to go out of my way to dispute the charge with my bank and it took a long time to have it resolved. I would not recommend this gym club to anyone, as I feel taken advantage of by them and their careless handling of my finances. Check your credit cards because they may charge you without any relationship with them. Their management is awful and very bad customer support .

I used to go to this gym because I thought an all women’s gym would be an amazing place to jumpstart my weight loss, immediately after singing up I paid for the first months payment and soon after the annual fee not bad right … wrong after that I was constantly getting money taking out of my account from the gym sometimes it would be $20 and sometimes it would be $5 and when I check the app or called to ask why they wouldn’t give me a valid response and would say it’s part of your membership fees. I’m not the only one they’ve scammed everyone else I know that has came to this gym left not even 2 months later because of this reoccurring issue. Do better.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Me and a friend went to ask the friend desk a question and immediately were met with hostility and before even leaving the building hear the woman say “beating a dead horse so annoying”. The gym has a reputation of a scamming and fraudulent activities. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has been overcharged for many months, even after the gym so called “cancelled” the membership. I have cancelled my membership months ago and yet I was still charged for the months that I have never even stepped a foot in the facility and recently the audacity of the management has reached a new level, even after cancelling my membership I was charged not just for a monthly payment but a personal trainer as well.

Absolutely horrible place. Extremely corrupt and fraudulent billing practices. RUN from this place. I was charged multiple times for the same month at full monthly fees even though my account was frozen. They charged me the annual fee even after I cancelled. Spoke to multiple managers including Jessica Maraldo and Leandra Faber, who said they would reverse the charge and fix the issue but never did. Then they stop responding to email when you follow up. This business should be investigated for criminal charges because they are running a scam.
UPDATE: Contacted the email below and got no response. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that this place continues to waste my time.

This Luciel is one of the nicest places. It Has sauna friendly staff. The members are little on the aggressive side. No room or space in aerobics room. They hold spots for few ppl even when they aren’t there . For some reason they think their membership superior to other members. Forget about parking,It’s parking hell. Enjoy.

if you like cardio this gym might be a great deal for you. there is not much of the heavy lifting machines to build muscle such as the smith machine etc.. which sucks. but the great thing is it mostly empty most of the time.

HORRIBLE GYM HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I tried so many times to cancel in December on the phone only for them to say cancel in person which I did in January but they still charged me going on 3 months after!!! Like parasites and they are so nasty!! How many times can I call and ask them to confirm that my cancellation went through?? Do not go to this scammy shady gym. Save yourself the headache please.

Total disaster! I came early morning for the trial class, I called the day before to be super sure that I can attend the class as a part of 5 days trial. The lady on the phone said, that sure, please come, just bring your id and vac card. After that, I've received sms, that I have a 5 days free trial in gym, including machines and classes.
When I came in, today at 10 am, lady on reception, who by the way, was not happy to see me or people at all, said that only members can attend the class. I said that I called yesterday, and lady said that I can come, she said - i don't to whom you spoke yesterday.
I said, ok, can I pay for the class, because I've already here, she said, no only members.
To sum up, she didn't suggested any work arounds, she didn't provide any help , nothing, and she is representative of the club.

During the summer I was attempting to check out of the gym in order to follow COVID rules, when I asked an employee who was standing around looking bored, to please check me out because supervisor KIRA had a customer. KIRA immediately jumped in and aggressively told me to wait while the other employee just stood by and did nothing to help. I asked her for her name and wrote to Lucille Roberts online and Jessica the GM responded. Jessica is the complete opposite of KIRA and was able to address the issue with me professionally. Because of Jessicas kindness I opted to keep my membership. On December 3rd I called to ask about charges for my account I was told would be frozen by another employee. KIRA answered the phone and became extremely annoyed when I tried to explain what the previous employee promised me. She continued to try to rush me off the phone as I continued to ask her probing questions. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said she was the only one I could speak to. In favela articulation, she became irate and started raising her voice to me. I asked her to please calm down and she stated “Well now I’m
Mad so now I’m yelling…” I asked her again to be professional and she continued to be verbally aggressive and borderline abusive. The hung up on me. This is supposed to be a “safe”
Space for women, and I’m extremely disappointed that this gym would value an aggressive employee over a paying loyal customer. It’s extremely uncomfortable to continue my membership in Lucille Roberts with employees like KIRA. It’s doesn’t make for a comfortable space to work out in and frankly we don’t pay a monthly fee to be treated with such hostility. Because this is the second time time happens I will be reporting it to the Attorney General Office’s Division of Consumer Affairs. Extremely disappointed in Lucille Roberts and their selection of staff, especially the ones that are supposed to be leaders.

Please avoid this establishment at all costs. They are not honest at all. Last year after gym reopened after the pandemic I went there and cancelled my membership. Lady gave me a paper receipt confirming that it was cancelled. I don't check my statements often which i should, so I noticed today they kept charging me every month 50$ for membership that i cancelled. I called the place and they have no records of me cancelling it. Now I can not prove it in any way, since I didn't think that i need to keep the receipt of the cancellation for over a year. So yes, avoid this place and if you ever deal with them make sure you keep all the receipts from them because they will screw you over

I am in total disbelief at how dishonest and deceptive the gym at Lucille Roberts Kings Highway is. I was a previous loyal Lucille Roberts member before all their other location closed. I am not a person to complain but new and or returning clients need to hear this. To make this story short, I canceled my membership and was billed an early cancelation fee of $156.75 with tax included. I was contacted via phone and email that my membership is finalized. The following month I was billed $256.03. When I asked about this transaction, the option given is two months of free membership to complete my training. It took me continuously asking why I was billed $256.03 and was informed if my bill falls within 30 days I will be billed a prorated fee. The prorated fee as stated by management is $236 which gives me 7 sessions plus any remaining sessions I had previously. As per contract and discussions when applying for the membership, I can cancel at any time but will only be charged $150 for early cancelation and I can not transfer any training sessions. - PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP AT THIS GYM- They are not honest with canceling your membership, the amount of professional qualified trainers, and the communication is not clear and deceptive. After reading other people's reviews this is not the first time they lied and mistreated their clients. The gym equipment also needs to be updated. I was treated nicely while there but honesty comes first. I hope they rectify this and do what is right for the customers.

This gym is a an absolute disaster .
Have been trying to freeze my account since the start of the pandemic as I’m not interested in gym services during Covid.
Fees charged even when the gym was closed , spoke with the manager , had it refunded , put a freeze for a year .
Nothing went into effect .
Called back , got a new manager , apologies , refund , nice small talk , hours spent in the phone .
A few months passed same thing , call them again , apologies , “ I’m a new manager , don’t know what went wrong , I’ll fix it “ , hours spend on the phone again .
And so on many times .
Again “ someone in back office lifted the freeze “ ( guess they just have nothing other to do to “.....” with people’s accounts , so calling them again , having to explain the 10th time ...... and get the same speech “ something went wrong in the back office , we just got bought over ......🤦♀️
So, to resume :
Unprofessional staff, constant fees under the excuse ( we’re under new management, we’ve just been purchased ) and if you haven’t come to a resolution every new manager ( which is almost a monthly change ( will give you that speech .
General manager Julian/Jillian ( or so she sad ) , not having fixed the problem ( spent hours on the phone and was assured she was going to fix another managers’ errors ) which for next cycle has created a late charge to the credit card attached to the membership, not only didn’t try to fix the problem but tried the whole “ we were bought las month , I’m new , I’m trying to help you here “ after which started screaming at me and hung up the phone with “ I’m closing your membership ( of 15 years ) I don’t want members like you in MY gym , after I told her I’ve heard that speech last time her and I spoke and she assured me she’d have the problem fixed and it wasn’t .
Um .....
Whoever is the new owner of this crazy house :
A) instruct your general managers/ managers / customer service they are employees who are there to service members , paid by the monthly fees of those members . My gym ????? YOUR gym is in the basement of your house !!!!
This is a business and I am not serviced there for free and will definitely not be spoken down to by an employee who’s job description is to make sure members have the gym services rendered in a timely and polite manner !
B) have respect for people who’ve been members of your business for years and when you hire people , make sure they know how to speak and have elementary understanding of how to submit changes , claims , refunds , freezes , upgrades/ downgrades ( your staff doesn’t know how to do that , they need training )
C) It’s more productive to finally invest into training staff than constantly changing them in hopes of them figuring it out on their own .
For now this particular location is absolutely appalling in terms of efficacy . Unprofessional staff, out of line rude manager Julian /Jilian ( from LR experience of changing them every other month ) who hung up on club client of 15 years with “ I’m closing your membership, I don’t want you in MY gym .

So the gym itself is small, its a women only gym, needs a little updating but it serves its purpose, it has a babysitting service as well. I cancelled my membership maybe 2 years ago but I just got an email from them saying I owe them money for the past 60 days of membership that I have not been subscribed to for a long time already! This is fraud, and honestly just go to a more updated and larger gym. Planet fitness is a few blocks down. Keep your reciepts too, you will need it

I am not the type to come on here and write bad reviews but I have really had it up to here with this gym. The only thing I really liked about it was the fact that there were no men so that's why I gave 2 stars. The machines are outdated and broken most of the time and the membership is too pricey for that. I have tried cancelling my membership multiple times and GOT NO RESPONSE. They even have the audacity to send me emails saying my account is past due meanwhile I have tried to cancel. With a lawsuit and other bad reviews they sure have the guts to ask for money that I should not even owe because I want my account to be canceled. SMH

We need a way to relieve stress from this terrible times we were currently facing. But let me tell you they are always cleaning or spraying. And they check the club constantly to make sure everyone is wearing a mask. It's not crowded,everyone does do the distancing and wipes the machines afterward. I'm happy. Has a horrible customer service base and they are not helpful at all. Warning stay away unless they fix up their customer service. Also in addition they have a terrible website with no clear way of allowing you to quit your subscription and state you are no longer coming. I searched and searched and found nothing on their website. I emailed them and they just directed me to a different email they claim takes care of all "customer issues". This email just belonged to their parent company and couldn't help at all! I want my refund for the month I was charged even though I tried leaving months ago!

I called again to cancel Thelma at the desk said mail in a letter to request cancellation. October 23 I did just that. Today I was charged again! I called up and they said no letter or record was made on my account somehow thats my fault. I am filing a lawsuit and other should do a class action suit again them. THIS IS FRAUD! This gym and their staff is a literal joke. They charge whatever they want, whenever they want, no notice and not according to the contractual agreement. I’ve been emailing for months to cancel my membership, to no avail. I actually realized today I haven’t see a charge in a while and it occurs to me, they have my old card on file, let me call them and update payment info FOR THEIR BENEFIT, called 6x, multiple extensions, no response anywhere. You guys are literally bizarre. Stay as far away from here as possible. You’re literally throwing money to the wind because the machines are all old and there’s a very limited about and type equipment for lifting. 100 treadmills and no squat rack? Ok.

You want to hear about FRAUD...Cancelled my account due to the fact that I used to attend NYSC as well. They shut many of the ones I went to down. So go into LR on kings highway and the manager tells me how this branch is the best.. told her it does not fit my schedule and locations do not work. Receive email confirming cancelation with no charge. Next day 10 charge on my account. Meanwhile, still have my money for March and April. Will file small claims action lawsuit against them in Kings county. Girl behind desk this morning was nothing but rude.

The worst, I had the worst experience especially during covid. I am a college student and on a budget but still charge me whenever they want not even notifying me about it. I been wanting to cancel my membership since April and when they opened in September they charged me without any notice. When I asked for refund they said no and said in fact I am also paying for the October. So basically paying for 2 months for a place that I get no use of. Literally shows no care what's so ever. They told me to come to the place to cancel my membership, so inconvenient!!!! Also, when I was going to LR before Covid they charged me different amount and never refunded it.

Be aware!!! As soon as they have your credit card information they start to charge you whenever they want and as much as they want! They charged me annual fee twice, it took me at least a month to have my money back, it was not easy. And now they are closed, they do not perform their service, but they charged for membership for April, 2020 despite I sent them e-mail 10 days before that I want to terminate the membership. They just ignore all my letters.

I had bad experience in this gym located in kings highway, people in the desk they have bad attitude especially (Vanessa )And they are scam. They make it so easy to register and when you wanna cancel it is so so hard to do that and they keep billing you for no reason and extra fees and charges for no reason.
I will never ever go back nor my family and friends.

I don't understand how Lucille Roberts could charge people's credit cards every month in whatever amount they want WITHOUT NOTICE OR CONSENT! It just doesn't make sense to me. Is that even legal?? How can you run a business this way? I think the only reason you have as many members as you do is because you are the only women's gym around here. If there was a half decent all women's gym around here I'd stop my membership here in a heartbeat.

Extremely dirty and unpleasant place. Front desk stuff is very rude and unprofessional and never heard of customer service manners. The equipment is old and mostly broken. Every other elliptical machine is out of order for more then a year. The rug smells and the equipment is never getting cleaned, everything is covered in dust. For anyone who reads the comments please take your money somewhere else, it was a horrible experience.

I’m writing this review on behalf of my grandmother. She was a custom at this gym for over couple of years. The treatment she received is unacceptable, and I’m hoping someone from corporate will see this review. The staff and management at this place is terrible and rude, there’s no compromise or any kind of understanding towards their clients. Without any notification my grandmothers monthly fees increased from $10 to $20, and she was unable to afford the payment. She requested membership cancellation, which only went into affect 45 days later. Not sure why? Since all the other normal gyms allow you to cancel membership right away. Probably because they wanted to rip off another two month payments. Fine! Then the day before the membership got cancelled, she gets charged maintenance fee for the following year $69.99. When compared to last year maintenance fee charge, this fee was charged 1.5 month earlier then usual. They just wanted to steal more money right before the membership got cancelled. When we spoke to manager Vanessa she was very rude and said there’s nothing that can be done and that’s their policy. Complete rip off!
Stay away from this Gym! Don’t let them steal your money!

If I can rate them a 0 I would , the idea of a only women’s gym is great and that’s what made me sign up but these people steal your money and still charge you after u pay a cancellation fee and they don’t even let you know , very rude and horrible staff the gym itself is almost always dirty, another thing is you make a deal of $10 a month and suddenly they charge you $20 never going back and I don’t recommend anyone signing up.

I do love this gym, especially the fact that is it female only. The problem I have is the evening classes kill my workout. I tried to email lucille roberts, the music is inappropriately loud. It is not a night club and those who attend classes pay the same amount that the others so why do they have privelleges?! And the trainers should take in consideration that a lot of people have anxiety disorders and your music is not helping it. I made various complaints but no one seem to care... very sad

Lucille Roberts Kings Highway is a family gym. The staff is friendly and courteous, and very accommodating. Management is user-friendly. If there are any problems, they are eager to help out. Patrons are greeted with a smile and waved off with a goodnight.
The classes and instructors are geared to assisting us with achieving the best results that we are seeking. Although rigorous, with a high intensity, (no pain, no gain) they are fun and enjoyable!! The instructors do their best to motivate us and offer help where we need it.
The gym is maintained and is always clean. I thoroughly enjoy working out at Kings Highway with some great friends who have become like family!...I highly recommend the experience!

I abosolutly love this gym!!! I was a member years ago, moved and went to another gym but there's no place like Lucille Roberts and I'm glad that I'm back. The staff and mangement is amazing they are so welcoming, pleasant and friendly always a hello and smile when walking in it's like a Lucille Roberts family.
Machines and equipment no complaints works perfect for my needs. Always clean and never over crowded. My favorite about LR is the classes. The instructors are top of the line!!!!
Vicky, Sandra, Audi, Lauren, Melissa and Saraya will give you the best work out you have ever had they are great motivators and work with you to make sure u are doing the excercises properly. Even the members here are awesome everyone is so kind and friendly just an overall great gym!!!!!!!!!

Major rip off. Stay away from them. Charged my wife $100 as annual fee and another $20 for the first month. She cancelled soon after and went to the gym a total of 10 days before that. They charged her another $20 after the cancellation and even mentioned charging her the next month too. Apparently you owe them money the next 45 days as well after putting in a cancellation request. How is such day long light robbery even legal? Basically charged us $150ish for 10 days worth of visits over two months.

I had bad experience there, when I cam for the first time and asked how much I will pay each month girl on the front desk told me $ 9.99 (it was promotion) and in the middle of the second month I will be charged for $69.99 I said fine. My friend was also there and she heard the same. After 3 days I came and asked when they will change my account the lady on a front desk said on July 1 or 2, how much? She said $ 9.99. Ok. On July 2 they took $ 19.99 from my account. When I just asked why, the manager said me I knew that information, No I don't, nobody ever told me that. My friend was disappointed too. Actually $19.99 for a month it's not a lot of money but they have to tell me before , I asked 2 times in two different days, and my friend too. They just tried to make me stupid that's why I will never go there anymore. The manager instead should say that it's might be the girl that said it to me made a mistake but no she instead said that we are miss understood. I usually trust people but it was better to record them. Make sure girls when you see any promotion on Lucille Roberts that on Kings highway try record their words or they will make you stupid or even deaf . I hope they will return my money back now. Overall place is not bad, good classes and equipments, nice trainers. But front desk staff and the manager super bad.

I don't know where to begin. I've been Lucille Roberts member for 4 yrs already and I liked it but lately everything changed, since NYSC bought them. I've been such a good customer. I even brought a lot of people with me, including my friends and even my mom.
So couple of days ago, I checked my mom's bank account and what I saw was shocking. She is getting charged twice in a month from both LR and from NYSC even though she never went to NYSC. And she was charged $49.95 four times and once $99.90 from NYSC and rest of the charges were from LR.
I talked to LR staff about this and they tried to avoid the responsibility; they said that they have no idea why is that happening and that they're two separate companies and they don't know what NYSC is doing. I was like how is that right when NYSC is your owner.. Ok then if that's so, how did they get access to my mom's information. It doesn't make sense. Then they just gave me a number to call to NYSC.
I did call and the lady on the phone also told me that she has no idea about that. That she doesn't see any of those charges. I'm like .. how ? She gets charged twice with your name on it and w/ LR name on it. Then She said that maybe since they're the owners now that's why I see their name on it but in reality it might be LR taking the money.
So the lady didn't really helped me much. She suggested to call LR corporate office. I'll do that as soon as I find out their number.
I'm getting so pissed off. >:[ None of them want to take the responsibility but they do like to take money. Like I can't trust them anymore. I've to check my account every day now cuz I don't know when, how much or how may times I'll get charged.
P.S. I canceled my mom's membership w/ LR. One of my acquaintance told me that she didn't like this new system or whatever is this new thing is. They suddenly are increasing charges and so on. So she also canceled her membership. If they continue like this they won't have any customers left anymore.

finally after 10 yrs of using this gym im over the top annoyed so im writing this. 1 the very old half broken bathrooms are alwats broken and out of order one at a time for weeks on end. same thing with machienes . out of order with a im sorry sighn for weeks. i come daily at least 4 times min a week. u have one bar bell with no functional bench press a place to do prooer chin ups that can fit a womens hand ize . what abt muscle ups why would women want to do that? i usually give up waiting for te one barbell or the one that has 40 pounda attached with no options to lift more then 40? im an athlete who cycles sometimes 100 miles threw country hills and i also swim and run . why r u trainers 50 plus and over weight and giving classes? seriously only carlos and tammy and one other class teacher look in shape. its not motivational. The reson im stuck using this gym is bec i adhear to my religious calling to modesty and there for do not want to work out with men so im stuck here. i hope management reads this and does something small at least. u can start with haveing proper a/c . forget abt even working out hard when u walk in most days past march u meet thick smelly air. ive seen peopel say wow i looked for parking for 15 min i get here and i gadda go bec i cant breath. oh and ur ppl at the desk i feel for them they have to deal with angry ppl complainig abt a situation thats not normall but they need a paycheck.

I absolutely love the pound class with Francesca there. Shes energetic and has an amazing routine that will burn your butt and abs. The facility has also been upgraded since a couple of years and there's newer machines and cleaner spaces. Definitely worth it.
