Both of my boys absolutely love the Penfield Dojo! We have been a karate family for the last few years and my kids have grown so much during that time. Sensei Kelly and her team are the best! They all work really hard to make the kids feel comfortable while also challenging them. We also love how they incorporate life skills into their teachings.

At MAA Penfield, your child learns self defense and increases confidence. The sensais are knowledgeable and encouraging in growing skill sets. The dojo sends home quarterly challenge sheets to encourage discipline and home practice while promoting community involvement. Great group of instructors dedicated to the sport.

We absolutely LOVE Martial Arts America. We go to the Penfield branch but there are locations in Webster and Brighton as well. The senseis are amazing! My son is almost 13, has his certified black belt, and has been attending since he was around 6 years old. He’s held multiple birthday parties here along with always loving the “Parents Night Out” where they take your kid(s) for a couple hours on a Saturday night (feed them pizza and completely wear them out!!! It’s incredible!!!). Now that he’s older he gets the opportunity to help in younger kids’ classes as a sempei and to help host events (haunted house for Halloween, helps with running the Parents Night Put). There’s literally nothing negative I can think of to say about Martial Arts America and their wonderful senseis.

Our son loves it here! The senseis are incredible. They instruct the students as a whole person, not just the physical piece of martial arts. They learn life skills like respect, self esteem and self discipline. They keep the students engaged through the entire lesson. Highly recommend!

This has been a wonderful experience! Fun, good place to make friends and sense of community. Our child has been going here for a couple years since Dragon (preschool). It is the best karate dojo in Rochester, NY! Karate is not only good for self-defense but also an excellent way to boost children's confidence, self-discipline, focus, and respect. Sensei Kelly has been practicing and instructing for almost 4 decades and is amazing with children and adults of all ages, she has a great energy and sense of humor. All the Sensei are awesome here! Our child loves ninja dodgeball, doing double jump kicks, practicing and working to complete goals. Can’t recommend this place enough.

My daughter has been attending the Martial Arts America Penfield karate courses for well over a year at this point. Sensei Kelly and Sensai Sean are absolutely wonderful. They are patient, kind teachers that bring so much positive energy to the kids. My daughter looks forward to each and every class and dreams about becoming a sensei herself one day. I can't give a high enough recommendation for this place! Truly great!
