Best decision I made this year. Been there for almost a month, I’ve lost 15 pounds. If you want to see real change this is the place to be.

I was convinced to join this class with my mom, and I do not regret it one bit. I find with typical group workouts, you're not being treated personally--unless you pay for 1on1 sessions, you do not get the care and motivation you need to continue attending, which makes me hesitant to try these types of classes. I do not like to waste my time on places that does not find passion in their experiences.

Currently attending a kickboxing class 4 days a week for 3 months+, I can definitely say this is a teacher you need to invest in. Angel is both the most friendliest and professional teacher I've ever had the pleasure to be apart of, and his classes are nothing but incredibly motivational and progressive. He takes care of each and every person even if there's over 8 of us, and allows us to push through our boundaries while correcting on irregularities in our footing, hands, positions, etc. He always checks to make sure we're doing our best, and when we are, he cheers us on. I find myself excited for the days I can attend his classes--because this is a destressor for me, a way to get fit, and lose myself in the 45 minutes until I go home content. Even the younger Angel, he has a passion for teaching and interactions, you can tell that the both of them care for their craft, and in turn make me motivated to come back. My mom feels the same way as well; she feels happier when its the weekday and she can destress herself with these classes. I do hope to continue coming back here for a good while. When considering a place to get a good workout, and its in a group setting, please do put this place as a contender.

If you’re looking for the best kickboxing or jiu jitsu classes in Maspeth, look no further than Maspeth Martial Arts. I come every day and can personally vouch for the quality of instruction and the positive energy. The fitness kickboxing classes are perfect for beginners who want to get active, build strength, and relieve stress with no prior experience needed.

The jiu jitsu program is non-competitive, paced perfectly for newcomers, and completely ego-free. The instructor is supportive and the students are respectful, making it an ideal environment to learn and grow. Whether you’re an adult looking for a great workout or a parent searching for kids martial arts classes in Maspeth, this place is a gem. Maspeth Martial Arts is more than just a gym — it’s a community that motivates and supports you every step of the way. Highly recommend!

I've been to two other BJJ schools. Definitely this is the best. No endless pushups, sit-ups, shrimping. Just pure technique...the correct technique! Family atmosphere. Must be humble and consider your training partners as family. No bad attitudes allowed.

7 years ago I was in a bad domestic violence relationship, my ex made me feel like I was worth nothing, and I started to believe it. Breaking away from that and now happily married I needed to find a way to find myself again. Maspeth Martial Arts in little as 1 week has helped me build my self confidence back up, I feel great everytime I go there, its never a dull moment. Angel is awesome he pushes you and tells you that you can do it ! The group is great it is ego free and everyone is there for the same reason. There is something for everyone here.

I have been going to Maspeth Martial Arts kickboxing and fitness class for over a year and a half now and the results have been fantastic. I see it and feel the results every day. The good thing about this workout is that it is constantly changing and working new muscle groups so your body never adjusts and gets bored with it. I usually do two classes a week. There are 8 classes, one each morning and one each evening, four days a week so the schedule is flexible enough to get at least two classes a week in, or four if you are ambitious. You will feel it and it takes a little bit of dedication but the results are well worth it. The staff is very friendly and motivating and will definitely keep you moving.

Maspeth Martial Arts (Arts & Fitness) is great for kids, teenagers and adults. I have been with the instructor for about 7 years and he is one of the most inspirational person i have ever had in my life. He has taught me more than just self defense. Angel Redondo (Mr.R) taught me self control, respect, honor, loyalty, and discipline. He has been hard on me over the years but that is because i know he cares about all of his students and people he teaches. He wants the best for everyone and is willing to sacrifice his own time in order to help others. He holds great holiday parties and awesome birthdays. Mr.R has been with me through every step of my life from the time i was 11. He began shaping me to become more confident in my life and helped me through every obstacle of my life. On the other hand he is very strict and when it comes to class he does not play around. He pushes you to you limit and in just 2-3 weeks from experience and what i have seen with my peers you will lose weight. His kickboxing classes are mixed with obstacle courses, TRX suspension training, heavy cardio workouts to build your endurance and self defense exercises. At the end of classes you will be exhausted beyond belief. Angel really goes out of his way to motivate you with great music and sometimes cracks jokes during class to lighten up the mood. There is nothing that Maspeth Martial Arts does not have that anywhere else has. He also offers deals and its just perfect in my eyes. #MaspethMartialArtsForLife

I am doing this review as a former student. Maspeth Martial Arts is one of those rare unique gems in the overcrowded New York martial arts and fitness club scene. Sure you can do a cardio kickboxing class anywhere or maybe send your kids to just ANY karate school, but why?

Can many of these cardio schools actually say they have REAL martial arts instructors with years and years of experience making sure all of your moves are performed safely and in correct form?

I also have the advantage of being able to do this review because I grew up in this school, came here as practically a kid and grew up here until I moved to new jersey. I go back to when this school was in Ozone Park Queens.

I benefited three fold from this place,

1)Fitness, I lose the most amount of weight and was always hitting new milestones while being a student here

2)Self Defense, being a victim of bullying the main reason I had joined was to learn to defend my self as a kid. This was the biggest return on my parents investment, once I had the confidence to stand up to my self the bullying left.

3)The kids and young adult programs bring out the leadership in everyone. As a kid with a speech impediment "stuttering", I would hate to talk or introduce my self and would try to stay in my own little corner of the school. Mr. Redondo made it very clear with me that it would not fly with him,From taking turns having to take the spotlight by performing small demonstrations of "forms" to having to explain the meaning of something to the whole class, to even basic introductions to other students the school broke away my shy habbits that have now carried with me in my career as a sales manager and that is a direct result of being a student of MR. Redondo and his academy.

From the metaphors of wood breaking to watching my classmates confidence raise as they won tournaments, training in this environment can only bring the best in out.

To this day I still carry relationships with many fellow students from when I was there and we are all like a family some of them I talk to more than my own family lol.

The only reason I am a former student is because of my distance. I have moved to new jersey and have a lot of schedule conflicts but every couple of months I still pass by to take a class or two and catch up with the students and staff.

Maspeth Martial Arts where families are formed. It's more than a school, it's more like home. The one place where I can have a great work out and feel comfortable! joining Taekwondo was the best decision for me, it's about self defense, courage, discipline, self respect, you learn so much more than just fighting! The instructor is more than just an instructor he's A friend, A fathers figure, A big brother and a really great teacher. Joining Maspeth Martial Arts may be the start to something great!
