I have been a practitioner and sometime teacher of yoga since 1997. I started with David and Sharon Life, co- founders of Jivamukti NYC. Then I eventually progressed to Hot Yoga. So while I was staying with friends in Merrick for the holidays this seemed like a logical choice. On the surface nice studio, clean with many classes 7 days a week. As I became a little more familiar I started to look a little closer. I am a Purist, and an athlete with a strong diverse background in combat. What initially seemed like good vibes turned more into a pursuit of Aesthetics here with the Cliche de rigeur tattoos, mind you I'm not speaking in totality here but a good percentage here fits this description. Yoga
is about Mind, Body and Soul, Not just Body. I was approached by a few people about self defense. I naturally reached out to the Owner about possibly teaching a theory, no hands on womens self defense class, I believe in being of service. No answer? To me that's a snub. This seemed more than a community thing, especially as an outsider, it seemed more High Schoolish but with big diamond rings and luxury SUV's. Oh the suburbs

This is the second review I’ve ever written, (first was an honest mechanic that saved me a fortune and I felt compelled) and I’m only writing it because this the best hot yoga studio on Long Island hands down. I moved here from Beverly Hills a few years ago, and this is the only studio that is on par with the best studio in Los Angeles; Hot 8 Yoga (Los Angeles has hot yoga studios every 6th block and I’ve tried most). I’ve tried all the local Long Island ones within an hour drive of my house; which include the one in Long Beach, Rockville Centre, Carle Place- and Merrick Hot Yoga is far, far superior; I come here often even though it’s the furthest from my house compared to the ones I mentioned. The most surprising thing I’ve noticed is that every practitioner (student) is so friendly, and even though I’m shy and generally stay to myself; you see how it’s one big happy inclusive community where everyone really knows each other. In theory this would be the perfect place to find a warm community for anyone looking.

The heat intensity is perfect. The teachers are phenomenal and give great instruction and understanding of how each pose benefits the body and what each pose is trying to accomplish; and they have a perfect blend of Pilates-based workouts, Vinyasa and the traditional Bikram 26+2 sequence. I didn’t want to highlight any specific teacher because they’re all really exceptional- Scott, Gina, Victoria, Lauren, Sheryl, Janet, Peter, Maria, Samantha, Shaun, each one as fantastic as the last; and if I missed any it’s just because I haven’t taken their class recently and forgot. This place is 5 stars. The owner Maria is 5 stars. Without reading other reviews, this is the only place I truly believe that all the 5 star reviews are 100% accurate, and any reviews with less than 5 stars is completely suspect and probably false. If you’re thinking about it, and took time to read reviews, then you should come here.

I've started here almost a year ago wanting to try something new. I never looked back. The instructors are amazing, really tough classes and high energy.
No matter what my week throws at me, I make sure at least once a week to find myself on that mat waiting for Victoria to kick my... . Don't be fulled by how tiny and sweet that girl is, her classes will crush you but you'll keep coming back for more lol
All classes are great but Shaun and Victoria's classes are something else.
Highly recommend.

Amazing studio! I’ve never been to yoga before this past year so I was pretty skeptical to start, especially as a young man who has only ever done sports and traditional workouts. Quickly after I walked in and got set up, I could I feel the great atmosphere Merrick Hot Yoga has. The vibe is so refreshing and everyone who works there is a gem. They are so helpful and keep the place in great condition. The workouts are challenging yet so rewarding and the talent there makes you only wanna get better! I’m so happy I found this place.

This is the ONLY place I work out- the hot rooms are the best around by far, the variety of classes that the owner, Maria offers covers all bases. Every single instructor I’ve experienced- Gina, Emily, Janet and Peter have been incredible! Great, clean environment with knowledgeable staff! Thank you Maria!

Merrick Hot Yoga is the absolute best! Its more than just a great workout, the community of instructors, staff and fellow students is what makes this place one of a kind. In my 1 year of taking classes, I have been challenged to push myself, try new things and learn to be a bit more zen :) This is all credited to the supportive & infectious atmosphere, it keeps you coming back for more!!

I feel so lucky to be a member of Merrick Hot Yoga. This welcoming yoga studio feels like home and is filled with compassionate staff, amazing community, a clean environment, very talented instructors and is for all levels. I love the variety of classes with different teaching styles the studio offers. Every class is so great and worth a try. Hot 60, Hot Vinyasa, Pilates, Kettlebell, Booty & Core and so much more! I have been coming to this studio for almost 5 years now. My practice here inspired me to deepen my knowledge of yoga and complete YTT last year. Maria created an atmosphere of one big family. Just wanted to take a second and acknowledge the great experience I had today at Merrick hot Yoga. From the minute I walked in the staff and the owner were super welcoming and friendly. The teachers dedication to everyone in the class to make sure they are doing it correctly and the motivation they give you to keep going.
The energy in this class was unmatchable to any other studios iv been to. Would Highly recommend over and over again.

I NEVER LEAVE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, but in this case I felt like it was necessary. I really liked this studio, the owner is extremely disrespectful .There are ways to speak to your clients, but this owner was completely out of line. Screaming at your clients after a class that is suppose to clear your mind is absurd. Yelling at your client in front of the whole class and may I add she yelled at my little sister who suffers from depression loves working out here and this has been the only studio where I have been able to get her to like and come to. It's extremely disheartening. I am fully aware that every studio has its rules, but there are ways to express those rules without being condescending to your client. The class ended at 10:27 we waked out at 10:30. I understand we have to respect others meditation, but we did not walk out before the class ended. I am fully aware as this is not the only studio I go to that we have to be mindful of others meditation while walking out. May I also add, the owner was taking the class as well. She proceeded to yell while my little sister was walking out disrupting everyone in the class (meditating ) and embarrassing her. It was a very mean-spirited, UNPROFESSIONAL move. It's unfortunate bc mental health is a big deal and these studios represent clearing your mind and soul. Unfortunately, after today I'm not sure this space is for me. I walked out from this confrontation with anxiety due to the owner. Tbh I hate to leave this review bc I do like classes , but this is not the first incident I had with the owner. It would have been more appropriate if the owner would've approached this is calmer/ private manner. Instead of continually repeating her point for everyone to hear. She repeated herself 10 times. I hope this review serves as a learning experience. I am a business owner as well and I could never imagine speaking to any of my clients in this manner.
*UPDATE: My little sister felt uncomfortable with everything that went on in the studio and decided to call the owner to try to understand and see if maybe there was a big misunderstanding.
The owner took absolutely no responsibility for her actions and decided to disclose information about my call log and state non factual things about me to ok her wrong doings . Which may I add is not legal. She proceeded to say she felt disrespected by me (her client) because I walked in one day at at 4:28 when class started at 4:30. Unfortunately, this studio charges for everything so I usually bring my own weights. Due to her going back and forth I felt overwhelmed and wanted get in I decided to leave my bag and not take the weights. I'm positive that in the middle of the back and forth I made a face (I was uncomfortable) because this owner started yelling at me super loud in front of ppl. I guess from that moment on the owner had it out for me. This studio overbooks and then mistreats people when there is no space. As an owner if you felt that me arriving at 4:28 was unacceptable you should've cancelled my class and not allow me into the class.Due to this situation the owner proceeded to tell my sister that this is why she felt the need to disrespect me because she felt disrespected in front of her brother. Completely unprofessional. There’s ways as an owner to address things with your clients instead of having it out for them. May I also add she did this to two other clients on Sunday. Took their reservation and didn't allow them to come into class because it was over booked. In this case it is unfortunate because we felt like since Maria is the owner to a YOGA studio maybe we could discuss what happened in a calmer manner and understand both sides she proceeded to take zero accountability for her disrespect. At this point after witnessing this owners behavior it is clear that she only cares about money and wants to walk around mistreating people because she's the "owner". Extremely distasteful. She decided to embarrass two of her clients and allow them to walk out upset.

If I could give a lower rating I would. Studio is alright ,teachers Janet and Shaun are good however the new owner Maria is beyond disrespectful to her customers. There has been multiple incidents that I have ignored but when this lady had the nerve to scream at me and my sister that's where I drew the line. She needs to check herself and he attitude because it will ruin her reputation and her business. The nicest thing I could've done to her is write this review.

My favorite community & first stop whenever I get off the plane to visit home. I’ve been coming here since they opened and love to see the positive growth. As a former work study member, I can also say they treat their staff well and it’s like a family. The hot Pilates class is my favorite workout on the planet. 🙏🏽

Merrick hot yoga, this sphere they are very racist , low key. they didn't welcome black folks, i had sign up for a class on Saturday morning 8:00 am to 9:00 am i got there before time 7:21, when i arrive its was only 7 people there ,they are asking me for my name if I had sign up ,they make me wait for 25 minutes to let me know I cannot joining the class, this is the 3rd time that happened. their people just walking in no questions asked, the owner come out pretending like she doesn't know what's going on, (bad business)everyone was looking at me like a (wanted ) mind you, I'm paying $190 a month total that's ($2,280) a year plus other purchases, please don't discriminate my money, I noticed that on Saturday morning the class 8: 00 am to 9:00 am black folks are not welcome in this vicinity, my advice to my people bring your money where you can be feel like a human being and welcome.

That was a great experience! Friendly staff. Helped prepare my mat ahead of time as work finished later than expected. Great vibes. Most importantly the exercises were challenging but doable. I felt clarity afterward, and toned up muscles. I will go back again sometime!

Convenient studio I've attended a dozen times. Its clean, structured, and professional. Its smaller than other studios but so are the classes. I've had good experiences. I bounce between Merrick and Carle Place depending on scheduling. I'd recommend it to others. Looking forward to resuming when it gets cooler out

So grateful I found this place close to home! The instructors are respectful, friendly and passionate. The reception is always attentive, warm, and I always feel welcome. Restrooms are immaculate, the studio is truly clean all around. The classes can be challenging, but you can modify poses according to your ability. A ”judgment-free zone”! Me, my wife, and my 15 year old daughter had our first Hot Yoga experience here and I’m glad we came to Merrick Hot Yoga. It was very clean, comfortable, friendly, and accommodating to beginners like us. We are recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident and there was enough modifications to get us through the class. It was challenging, but totally worth it. God Bless!

This is the best yoga in the area. From Denver, I come out 3-4 times a year to visit family. $25 is the most I've ever spent on a yoga class, and I'm a frequent yoga practitioner. Would've given it a 5 🌟 review but they didn't have a water fountain! Whaaa? For such a hot and strenuous class it seems like that would be a safety concern. Yes, I brought my own, but wanted to fill up and drink more before I left. Yes, they have bottles of water to buy, however, after spending $100 (talked into a 5-pack) I wasn't interested in spending any more money. They seem like an established business at this point, 4 years strong, I don't get it.
