The perseverance and commitment that coach Anthony has with my daughter is exceptional! He pushes her to be better at her tumbling and today she got her back handspring. She was thrilled . I really don’t have enough words to explain what Icons has done for my girl! Mary is in her fifth season at Icons and each year is better than the last. I am grateful for the way the coaches have challenged Mary, yet helped her progress in a safe way, ensuring her technique is spot on. Not only have her skills developed, but her confidence has as well. This confidence has followed her in all parts of her life. This is my daughter’s fifth year of cheer, third as an Icon. If I had to choose one word to describe this season at New York Icons it would be “growth”. The teams my daughter was on both showed tremendous progression in skill and character building. They learned that each stunt, each jump and each tumbling pass is an accomplishment to be proud of and to use each competition as an opportunity to improve and work harder. My daughter’s love of the sport, enthusiasm towards her coaches, teammates and gym family and most importantly her confidence continue to flourish each day. She has learned to trust her coaches and to ask for help when she needs it. She looks forward to gym time and constantly practices at home in order to progress and perfect her skills. Where do I begin. I have no works for NY Icons staff and Heather, other than thank you. Thank you for accepting my kid as your own. Every day she is at the gym , I know she is building confidence within her self. Thank you for providing a safe place for her. This place allows her to feel supported by everyone. I’m a dance mom that’s entered the cheer mom life. We are learning and growing together and loving every minute of it. Some may think she does to much. If you ask her….she wants more. My daughter Alexa has cheered at Icons for a few years now. She started with their half-year program (doing school cheer in-between). She recently decided that this year she wants to do the Junior Elite all-year program at Icons. Where do I begin?! Last year was our daughters first time joining an elite 1/2 year team and she loved it so much that we decided it was best to join full year this season! We couldn’t be happier with the decision we made. Our daughter has truly blossomed and learn so much! She is not just learning all things cheer and tumbling, she’s learning how to be a part of a team, to support one another, to be inclusive, to work hard, and never give up! As a parent, you couldn’t ask for any better! I will forever cherish this video I have of our daughter during a private tumbling lesson. In the background you hear a friend pumping her up and cheering her on as she completes a round off back handspring. You could just hear the excitement in this little girls voice and I know it meant the world to our daughter to have someone in her corner and that right there is just one example of the amazing atmosphere at Icons! What can I say about NY Icons? This program is incredible! From the minute you step inside the gym, you feel like you are a part of a family. The thing I love about icons is they are teaching these girls to be strong, independent and most importantly… inclusive. All the coaches teach these young girls to not be judgmental, and to include everyone. My girls have grown leaps and bounds over the years from this program. My daughter Isabella at first struggled trying to figure out exactly what she wanted to do. She tried dance, gymnastics and also soccer. Then she did an Icons camp a little over 5 years ago and the rest was history. This will be our 5th season with the program and Isabella just loves it. My daughter started cheering at the age of 3 and has been with NY Icons since it opened back in 2015. Now a teenager, she truly considers Icons her second home. I cant say enough positive things about Icons. My daughter is on her full 3rd year and we absolutely love it. We started during covid which was the best thing I could have done for my daughter. The gym was the one place she truly looked forward to going. She has learned so many great life lessons and skills. She has made amazing friends that she will never lose. I am excited to see what her future brings with this program. I also have served as team mom for the past 3 years. I love being able to experience this journey with my daughter and be there every step of the way. The booster program is amazing and if you take advantage of it, you can pay for majority of the program. The owner Heather Crowe is amazing and extremely talented in the sport. The coaches are top notch. I have absolutely loved all of my daughters coaches. They are firm, fair, and loving. I would highly recommend anyone to go to Icons if they are interested in All Star Cheerleading. Icons has also built a brand new facility on the east side to accommodate more programs and classes.
