We offer group functional fitness classes, 1on1 personal training, and private team training. We do not coddle or give out second place trophies for subpar effort. I joined Outerbridge Athletics in October 2024 and I absolutely love it! I was always an on and off again gym goer, but I would just go through the motions (not know how to push myself and always wonder if I was doing the workouts correctly). Coach John definitely has a lot of knowledge about fitness and I've learned so much in the short time I've been going. The other coaches and gym members are super helpful and motivating as well. Coach John is able to make appropriate modifications to any exercise to best meet everyone's fitness level. The workouts are fun, which makes it feel like you're not even working out! I highly recommend this gym. If you're on the fence, like I was, just do it and sign up! You won't regret it.

Outerbridge Athletics isn’t just a gym, it’s a community that has shaped my life in more ways than I can count.
The coaching, WODs, and support have completely changed the way I feel about fitness. No matter your experience level, the environment is welcoming, challenging, and inspiring - whether you’re a beginner or a hard-core athlete.
Beyond the WODs, some of my closest friendships started here. The sense of camaraderie is unmatched, and now, years later, my kids are even taking classes - after growing up watching me train from the gym loft!

For anybody who is nervous or reluctant to begin doing Crossfit alone or for the first time, the coaches make you feel comfortable and are willing to make accommodations to best fit your capabilities. There is a consistent routine every class so you know what to expect, and can even check the work out on the app beforehand to mentally prep. Overall, I recommend to anyone who is thinking about joining. It is a judgement free zone.

My absolute favorite thing about Crossfit is simply that it’s fun! I have never had so much fun exercising in my life! Which is huge, because I get bored very easily. Each workout is something new and it never gets old. There is always a new goal to set, a new skill to master. I cannot say enough about the wonderful coaches and members at OA. It truly is a community in every sense of the word. I have learned so much about health, fitness, and nutrition through the top notch coaching there. If you’re thinking about trying it, just do it! You will not be disappointed

An incredible environment for everyone whether you are new to working out or have been working out for 30 years. John and the coaches take the time to help everyone improve and don't rush you into an exercise if you are uncomfortable. The community is top notch, with people cheering and pushing each other for every milestone.

My husband and I initially started coming to Outerbridge in 2022 as a way to get into shape for our wedding. After we both took a break from working out for several months, I was initially nervous to start exercising at a new gym. The community of this gym is so welcoming and motivating from day 1. Coach John’s understanding of exercise and approach ensures the workouts target a range of fitness aspects including cardio, weight lifting, and endurance. I’ve been a member here for almost 5 years and have spent every day since trying to get all my friends and family members to join with me! Truly the most amazing place to workout no matter your age, experience, or any limitations you think you may have. All you have to do is show up and the community/atmosphere will answer any and every doubt!
Unlike other gyms we have a strong female presence and that says a lot in the fitness industry. As a female who joined the FDNY, Coach John made sure I was as prepared as I possibly could be, and because of my experiences in the gym I never doubted myself and my abilities.

Let’s just say I’ve been around the block! I’ve been to many gyms on the island and nothing compares to Outerbridge. I’ve been a member since 2015, and let me tell you, the dedication from Coach John and the other Coach's is unmatched! The atmosphere here is like a big family, and everyone looks out for each other. We push each other to be better, and it’s amazing how much we all improve. The athleticism built here is incredible. If you want to see real results, this is the place to be! I joined a little over 6 months ago, and see amazing results. Coach John, as well as all of the other coaches in the gym really understand who you are as a person and are able to help you out, no matter your ability or level. My fitness journey with OA started 10 years ago. I was 9 months postpartum from delivering my twins, and I was desperate to get myself into the best shape of my life. I knew the journey wasn’t going to be easy, but I was ready to commit.
I quickly realized that this gym is a true community where everyone is encouraging and supportive, regardless of fitness level. John is incredibly knowledgeable and is always available to help with form and modifications, making anyone who walks through the door feel confident and motivated. My oldest son started training 3 years ago. OA has transformed him to one of the best athletes on the football field. Teaching him dedication and discipline, he quickly learned that hard work pays off. The training and support he gets from John is truly unmatched. He’s pushes my son to limits he didn’t know he was capable of.

I started at Outerbridge CrossFit at the end of December, and walking through those doors for the first time was nerve-wracking. However, the coaches were incredibly welcoming, understanding, and supportive. They worked with me to scale workouts to my level while still pushing me to improve.

Like many people, I’ve gone through different phases and facilities on my fitness journey. None are quite like this one. What makes this place special is the incredible community of members and our Coach, John. I thought I was in decent shape before, but this gym will elevate your fitness level in ways you wouldn’t expect. You’ll need some mental toughness which (nicely) carries into your personal life, all while you are getting stronger and your body will show you that, quickly. It fosters confidence, support, encouragement, and motivation. Praise isn’t just freely given; it must be earned. There is consistency in John’s coaching. He recognizes abilities in each member and knows exactly how to push or scale a workout to prevent injury. Safety is always a priority. We look out for one another. It really is a special place. I've been going to Outerbridge Crossfit for close to 10 years now and it's been the best decision. The owner and coach is very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of crossfit. He understands that some people have limitations and works around these (so no need to feel intimated about CrossFit here). The other members are all very friendly and supportive. I've met the best people here. I'm 58 years old and feel like i'm in the best shape of my life thanks to this gym and the coach. The equipment is all top notch and everything is wiped down daily.

I've been a member for about 3 years. I have never been a part of gym that is literally a family. OCF provides an atmosphere that you can forget about the outside world and focus on improving you, both mentally and physically. Coach John, the owner, is outstanding at what he does. He coaches you in a way that provides motivation and encouragement. He sees potential in every one of his clients and pushes for improvement. I know the world of Crossfit may have a bad reputation in the world of exercise, " a workout that you can get hurt in". However, that is not true at OCF. John works with each client to focus on form and movement so that injury does not happen. I can't thank Coach John enough for all that he has provided to me both physically and mentally. Would highly recommend trying out OCF. It's a place I never want to leave.

I’ve been a member since I was 39, and now I’m 50! Coach John is an amazing coach - a good balance of tough and annoying and understanding. The workouts can be intense but John creates a motivating (maybe scary) environment and the people at the gym make it fun.
