I had a good time for the first time coming here tonight. However, when my partner and I were checking everything out, we went to the spa area and stuff thinking it was like a walk in, enjoy, kind of thing, but I guess not. I understand why, however, when a grumpy worker approaches you and accuses you of not having the member ship and then assumes someone is a minor (we aren’t at all), along with looking you up and down and making faces at you while he thinks your not looking, makes you a tad bit uncomfortable.

Decent PF location. Always very clean. Somehow always HOTTT in there, definitely need more fans. Also could use more than 5-6 stairmasters next to their 100 treadmills lol. I am a travel nurse and did find it odd that on 3 separate occasions I was asked if I would be switching them to my “home” location or there would be an extra charge, I never went over the “10 visits in a month” and pay for the black membership specifically so I can visit other locations while traveling. 2 of those encounters happened as interruptions to my workout instead of at the front desk while checking in, which was not appreciated. Never had it be that big of a deal before.

Great area, location, lots of parking. Abundance of machines for all occasions. Free weights are a bit limited but it was overcrowded when I went. Busy but not crazy busy. Mix of young adults, middle aged and elderly people. Great mix. Definitely going back.

Be cool if I could go after work Friday like the rest of the week, but they're not even open 24/5 like they claim. They close at 9pm Friday. So for 3 days a week they have actual close times. 3+4=7, 3+5=8. Someone failed basic math. I work nights. Used to go all four nights, now can only do three. 🤷‍♀️

I’m leaving this review to share my frustrating experience with this specific Planet Fitness location. If you’re thinking about transferring your membership from another location, don’t bother—just cancel your old membership and sign up fresh at the new location. I transferred my membership and ended up paying $31 per month instead of the $25 Black Card fee this gym charges, despite this location having fewer amenities than my previous one. For four months, I unknowingly overpaid simply because I transferred rather than rejoining as a new member.

Downgrading my membership was equally frustrating. I initially wanted to downgrade to a $17 monthly plan but was told I’d need to pay a $50 fee due to the terms of my vague and inconsistent contract. If every contract varies despite offering the same basic amenities, that feels like a money grab to me.

The worst issue, however, was canceling my membership. I had to visit the gym three times to finally get it canceled. The first time, I was told it wasn’t possible due to a "system error." I arrived at 9:40 AM and didn’t leave until 11:30 AM with no resolution. Two weeks later, I tried again, only to be told the front desk staff couldn’t process cancellations without the manager present. Since I was in a rush, I couldn’t wait. On my third attempt, I finally canceled my membership, but not before being subjected to pressure from the staff to stay. By then, I was completely fed up.

What’s worse is that I believe the delays were intentional to ensure I’d be charged another month. Although I attempted to cancel well before the 10th of the month, the process wasn’t finalized until December 12, meaning I was charged yet again.

Overall, this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I wouldn’t recommend this location. Their shady and dishonest practices make it worth considering other gyms in the area instead.

Back in the summer of 2022, I went to this Planet Fitness with some friends. I was 18, and going through a lot. Flash forward to now, and I can bench 225 for reps at a different gym. I still gotta work on legs tho… All this to say, I couldn’t have done this without Planet Fitness. I’ve made friends in this place even! Be humble, don’t neglect consistency, take things slow, and you’ll find that this gym is fantastic, even for veteran gym-goers!

Update... although people still use equipment as pit stops to use phones or to chat with their friends (Typical gym stuff) the staff at the Binghamton location are truly amazing they treat everyone like family.. we've been going here for months..

Tried this location for the 1st time last night in hopes I'd have a better experience then I have at the one in vestal.. NOPE.. people on their phones instead of working out taking up machines.. was in and out in less then 15 minutes.. Gym staff definitely need to get a handle on this .. I shouldn't have to drive 3 hours to Greece to get a good experience. Every gym should model this one.

Alex was the friendliest, most welcoming exercise specialist we have ever met at a Planet Fitness in all of our travels.

My wife and I travel in our van, doing #VanLife and Zoom calls using my satellite dish.

We arrived at Planet Fitness at about 9 PM and Alex welcomed us with a smile and a joke and we chatted with him for about 10 minutes at the front desk.

When I meet young people like Alex, I am confident in the future of our country and in the good intentions of my fellow man.

BTW, the showers are also clean and the equipment was well-maintained.

I decided after being a guest from a friend several years ago to become a member. I am going to work out as best I can. Thanks for opening the Binghamton location. This is now an update. I have been a member since early mid March and enjoy my time going to the gym. My only wish is for the gym to be open 24/7. That would be better.It's a great place to get a good sweat and improve your health and body. All kinds of machines and free weights. If you want to tan you can do that. If you want a massage on the chair or lay down on the hydro then go for it and from a sweaty work-out you can shower. Friendly staff as well. I have been going to the gym over a year now.

However that does not make up for the filth of the gym.
The glass doors are consistently dirty, covered with visible handprints. The ladies locker room is gross! The walls and floors in the changing stalls are covered in dust/hair all over and up the wall to the ceiling. The shower stall I used 2 days in a row had a huge noticeable clump of hair. I let the front desk know about it on the first day, and was told, "I just sent our best cleaner in there, she will take of it." Not sure how she could of missed it, but it was there the next day too! Yesterday, there was a dental toothpick in the shower stall shelf. I did not notify the front desk this time. No surprise the dental tooth pick was still in the shower stall today, as a matter of fact there was a second pick today. I again did not notify the front desk, I mean why bother? Aside from a few damaged machines, and some guests NOT cleaning the machines after they use them, its a gym. The staff should remind people to clean the machines after themselves. The cleaning staff should be retrained. YOU CAN DO BETTER!

The one in Vestal is a little nicer (or used to be) but it's a decent gym and you can't argue about the price.

The equipment is in good shape (although I liked some of the equipment that's been phased out better than the new) and everyone (except one very strange employee I haven't seen for months) has been extremely nice.

I have been a member of Planet Fitness for over seven years across three states. This is by far the best Planet Fitness I have been to. I enjoy Planet Fitness no one bothers me but I really wish there was more phone etiquette there.. I wish management would enforce some phone etiquette. People have really loud conversations.. people play their music so that everyone can hear !!!AND SING ...LOL...people sit on machines and play on their phones .. don't even work out.!!! On Thursday, there was a man just yelling and yelling and yelling... I believe he was on his phone it was actually scary and very uncomfortable, and not just for me, everyone was very uncomfortable, and no one said a word to him, and there were people working there!! He's been there before doing the same thing, and no one says a word.. I just wish management would do a little more managing, when it comes to phone etiquette, machine cleaning ,

When it comes down to it what really makes a gym successful? The staff! They have been amazing at this location since I started coming here in July 2023.

The Regional Manager Matt and his team at this location have been friendly, courteous, and always available to answer questions or concerns.

I recently had the opportunity to submit a survey via a Planet Fitness email I received, where I expressed how great the staff is and, as well, pointed out a concern. Matt immediately addressed it and even spoke with me about it the next time he saw me in the fitness club! Seriously stellar commitment to customers!!!

Ive been to a lot of different planet fitness locations, and this one is by far the dirtiest one Ive ever been to. At first I thought they must have been short staffed and missed a cleaning day, but ive been going here for a year now and it just gets worse. I mentioned something to the staff recently, and instead of addressing the issues, now they harass me. For example, i was told yesterday that im not allowed to sing to my music while i work out. Mind you, we all have headphones on and no one can hear me. Unfortunately, this is by far the closest gym to my home, because now my mental health has to suffer while i work on my physical health. I thought this was supposed to be the “judgement free zone”? If thats the case, why is the staff judging me for enjoying myself while i work out?

This Business has a bad habit of charging you for services even after you’ve cancel your membership and also refuses to reimburse you for those charges that were charged after signing cancellation form and no monies owed. Bad Business. Be very Careful !!!! (Read reviews). Even after I returned the email from the most recent message . They have refused to refund my membership dues and will argue with you. This is very sad. There are plenty of other gyms that will not rip you off.

I know exercise isn't for everyone but Planet Fitness is perfect for a beginner or experienced person. It's my first time back to a gym in 4 years. I had shoulder surgery last summer and the options of equipment is great. They have hydromassage beds that are amazing. My neck and back have never felt better, I'm also 60 years old.

To the man I just saw in the free weights section wearing an anklet who was BAREFOOT, NO SOCK doing squats with your grimy feet on top of, TOUCHING the plate on the ground you are a fundamentally flawed human being. I will never trust another human again after watching you put it away WITHOUT cleaning it. You don't lift enough to be acting like that, you're small. Your actions are even trashier than the anklet. If God is real he better remember what you did on judgement day because if he doesn't, I certainly will. I hope you get fungus all up in your toes. I would hope you never lift again but you barely do to begin with. Giving 4 stars because the staff here is incredible and love the machines, plus generally the people are stellar aside from Anklet Man.

I have been a fan of PF for years, there's ample space so you don't feel scrunched up. The 30 min workout area is ideal for a quick workout. The massage areas are nice and relaxing, the only thing I wish y'all had was a punching bag/kickboxing option. other than that y'all Rule.
