The gym itself is nice, especially with new equipment. But management is horrible. When machines are out of service it takes soooooooo long to get them fixed. This hasnt changed. I dont understand why there is a maintenance fee if there is no maintenance taking place. Very disheartening when machines are out of service, especially when there is 1 or 2 of that particular machine.

Never had an issue going to this planet fitness! One of the best in the bronx i’ve tried the one in hunts point and Buhre avenue but this one has to be the best. Employees are always kind to me and address any needs immediately. The cardio machines here are always functioning which is rare at Buhre avenue. The crowd at this gym is also perfect not too many people but not too little. Employees create a safe space for everyone and always say hello and to have a good day. No matter who i come into someone is always saying hello and with a smile!

As today's date i went to this gym because I wanted to try and it's close to my job .
I had the worst customer service of this employee that didn't want to five me her name because she knew I was going te o make a complaint.
To the manager that gave me his name with im going to reserve thank you for listening and you addressed that I was correct because he was there at the moment all tgis nonsense happened.

Please encourage this young kids to be respectful, kind and have more patience with new and assisting clients.

Im not going back again because of this matter i feel very disrespected.

FYI The complaint was addressed when the manager was there ,he comprehend it the situation but seems y hat he didn't care much about me saying im not going back.

General Manager Kevin addressed me as "he, they, or whatever" in my member photo taken at my sign up because he felt my picture didn't match my present self. I am a woman. I have always been a woman. He then demanded I update the photo or he will cancel my membership.

I later asked to see the new photo, which only shows the upper half of my face. If identity was the problem, how is this new photo a solution?

Given the nature of his position, I would assume he is familiar with all the facial and bodily changes people go through during their fitness journeys. This was super rude and offensive. I would have updated the photo or provided other verification without the excessive interaction. He needs some sort of training.

I had a very disappointing experience with the gym manager. I went to the gym with my family member and friends, and my brother was simply showing me how some of the machines worked. Out of nowhere, the manager came over and started shouting and yelling at us, saying my brother wasn’t allowed to teach me. He was extremely rude and even started threatening to cancel our membership cards. I found his behavior completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Not a bad spot. Always a familiar face. Staff is always saying hello. Love to see staff spraying air freshener. ISSUES: Roof leaks after rain but hey things happen. Today was my first day back on my fitness journey and it was great. I got there at 5am and the staff was upbeat and ready to work. They told me where everything was and were very approachable.

It was not crowded and everything was organized and clean. The woman's locker room, restroom and shower was also very clean and welcoming with loads of lockers. You do have to bring your own lock though. There is also a soap dispenser if you did want to shower. There were no traces of mold anywhere. It was very impressive.

This is a great location and I'd highly recommend this location!

I wanted to bring up a serious concern regarding the AC not working again this summer. This also happened last year, and unfortunately, it still hasn’t been fixed. The space becomes extremely hot and unbearable, and today I nearly fainted due to the heat.
This isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s a health and safety issue. I really hope this can be prioritized and addressed as soon as possible.

The women’s bathroom stink just like rotten fish all day not like that PF classic strawberry smell at all! What is it you can’t afford a nice smelling detergent!! It doesn’t t matter what day or time it’s like a stinky smell coming up.

Also, all of those machines are over dirty most of the time of the day I’ve gone, this is because of the time their employees are just standing behind the lobby location the entire day and do nothing (yuck) so what membership we really pay for?

Also, They changed everything around I guess it’s a new management so most machines are not taking care with the adequate hygiene care from there team members. Also when the the leg press machine facing the windows are in a very awkward place for us females! Because there are sick individuals out there trying to violate your workout privacy It’s like every man doing arm machine can now stay looking at you awkwardly disrespectful🫣. If those things can be changed than this would always be a go to gym because it’s usually chill.

I had to change my review . Here’s why , they seemed to have a new manager she is never smiling . Never says hello very much bland the new crew is bland too . I remember when the dude was a manager he made sure they was saying hello and all now they only look at us members like we should not be there . Many people go there and not considerate with the machines . I remember when it was so much better. They had two dudes that worked there and they would talk to us and say hello the women there are sad and miserable !!! On Saturday you have one dude he never smiles I don’t even say hi or bye to them because what for!!! now I’m going back to the other planet fitness . The Castle Hill Planet Fitness is a decent location. The gym is generally clean, the employees are polite and helpful, and all equipment is functional. Read on for details.

Equipment: This Planet Fitness offers a full selection of machines for every muscle group. As expected from a Planet Fitness, it includes three Smith machines, dumbbells up to 75 lbs, kettlebells up to 25 lbs, and a wide variety of machines for each muscle group.

Cleanliness and Atmosphere: The gym is well-maintained and clean, as it should be. Members are generally polite based on my observations and experiences.

Staff: The employees are very helpful and courteous. They are frequently seen cleaning and assisting members.

Parking Update: 4/22/25 edit* The parking lot has been demolished... to make way for a new building! Parking is now available at metered spaces or in the nearby residential area, if you’re lucky. On the plus side: the six train is right outside !

Overall, it's a nice location and you will enjoy your workout. 4/5 stars.

I never actually used my gym membership not even once and completely forgot to cancel it. It ended up charging me for almost 2 years with zero notice or reminder. Now I'm out hundreds of dollars with no refund offered. Really disappointing experience. Just be careful and stay on top of your cancellation, because they won’t help if you forget.

I moved out of state in 2023 went in to cancel my membership. I have the receipt of the cancellation. They can’t seem to find it in their records it’s been almost 2 years and I am still being charged. I sent an email to management, I wrote to cancel my membership a few times. At this point it’s time to call the BBB and report these transactions as fraudulent. I was a member since 2018. This is so disheartening and dishonest.

This gym is borderline acceptable, when it rains the water falls from the ceiling and they catch it in buckets on the floor. The have the audacity to charge 15 dollars for a regular membership and 40 for the black card. This is why everyone goes to LA fitness

It's a great facility. It's very clean. There's plenty of machines to suit your various workout goals. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The general atmosphere is everyone respecting each other's space. The music is at a comfortable volume and the selection is good. It keeps you motivated as you're working out and it's a quick walk from the train station.

Smaller gym and always feels overly crowded. Layout is a bit from other planet fitness. For instance, the back and pulley system is in a little corner. There is no parking but can find street parking not too far away (usually go there after 6 pm). I'm still giving 5 stars bc it still provides what you ought to expect from a planet fitness.

I live close by so it’s easy to walk since whatever happened to the parking lot anyway I dislike and have
breathing issue on the days I go here reason 1 is wherever I’m working out the come clean the Machine next to me and spray that chemical which is why my asthma can back I complained so much to staff and management they did nothing absolutely nothing to resolve this I been going there for over 7 years I have the black card and I’m not happy with this I get sick from the Chemical spraying to clean the machine that’s not good for my health. I go there for my positive health and well-being. It’s not the place to be.

Pros: My experience here has been great. The employees and manager are really nice and helpful and always make me feel comfortable entering/leaving this gym. This location is spot on clean, every single time I’m there. Machines are well placed and clean. Bathroom is always clean.
Cons: Too many teenagers lol Not sure if there’s a program for high schoolers or something but it’s not a big deal. Literally the only con I can think of 🤣 I’ll be going to the Southern Blvd location for now on due to me moving but this place will be missed! Take care. 🫶

I just want to thanks Mr. Kevin and Mr. Kobe ( Staff members ) for their assistance with my locker today. I forgot the combination of my lock and asked for help; Mr. Kevin showed his concerns about my situation and he assisted me very professionally, his wiliness and friendly attitude marked a difference what customer service is about at Planet Fitness. Seriously, I like this Gym. I've been coming for a while here on different hours and, I've been working out good, like any other business, people are the one in making a difference BUT sometimes here, some staff members seems to be cranky all time during their shifts but, this is not the nature of my review. Lately the conditions of the facilities are getting worse and worse. The showers are poorly maintained, howe it's possible that out of three showers only one it's working???..and,,it's been like this for months...It's was funny when I found myself being the number 3 on queue to get a shower..LOL.. it was ridiculous..LOL...I din't want to complaint one..because I will get frustrated speaking with staff and second one..I finished my work out and wanted to leave... Also, the ceiling leak on the right side of the front desk it's annoying, sometimes I see a small blue bucket catching the water..Seriously..??..Managers or Directors of this facility must to revise the amenities and enforce maintenance to take seriously these issues. Hope they can come with a solution.

The gym had all the necessary machines to achieve a good work out. The staff were pleasant, and signing up as well as cancelling the membership were super easy to do. There’s also a lime/bird parking point, so if you’re tired after the gym you can easily take an electronic scooter home.
I deducted 1 point for a few reasons. Number 1: the gym is way too crowded at like all times of the days. Members also have a habit of hogging machines for 30+ minutes, especially when there are groups of friends working out. And even if no one is on the machine at the moment, they will quite literally run to the machine and sit down to ensure no one can work out while they are resting, until all friends are completely done with the machine. Number 2: ventilation sucks. There’s no vents for those on the elliptical and only every 2 treadmills are facing a vent blowing A/C. Number 3: no more parking lot. That was seriously one of the highlights of the gym and now it’s gone

Westchester Ave & Castle Hill location:

I've been a returning member now for over 1yr. It fits my needs & is easily accessible in the neighborhood. Alot of the equipment on hand is adequate if you know how to use them & have a plan of attack ie;fat-loss, muscle building. Wish there were other types of equip rotated every 6 mos or so.
But you can easily get your HR up & build muscle if you know what to do.

Lockers rooms are usually pretty clean & the staff here are very attentive & helpful.

Hi .. I joined this gym in Memorial Day weekend and I supplied all the information they needed to my account. After joining the gym, they had trouble collecting my payment and I do not understand why because my bank was available and funds were available. To my surprise, they claim that they have “limited access” to my account which I never in my life had experienced that type of a problem. Apparently, this was a problem in this gym so they processed my membership with an additional $20 late fee. I went back to the gym and approached the manager and we re-entered my information my bank information my account information and after a 20 minutes of back-and-forth discussion he claim he waived my $20 late fee. On July 1 a $51 annual fee was supposed to be paid again they claimed they were unable to collect it and charged me again another $20 late fee. That was unacceptable. I canceled my membership because I could not understand or no one could explain to me what was the problem and I kept stressing myself because I’m not a person to ever not pay a bill on time nor ever been charged a late fee. It was so unexplainable and disappointing because I was making progress with my weight in spite of this issue, and also, they are allowing minors free access to the gym for the summer to run around the gym while other members are paying their fee and the kids are just hanging around the equipment and you’re unable to use it because they’re playing around with the equipment and that also was very dissatisfying and puzzling to me, especially when I’m paying my membership my annual fee and apparently late fees. I don’t know if another members are experiencing the same problem or they’re just picking on me, but it’s unacceptable because there’s a problem with processing w banks than they should be the ones responsible not me. I gave them access's to my bank . I did everything I could possibly do and they just kept continuing to charge me additional fees so I Cancel my membership and I will not recommend this to anyone.. The workers do not help you they cannot explain to you. They know nothing. All in all, I choose to move on and find a better suitable gym so I wish anyone who joins this gym the best and hope this doesn’t happen to you! Thank you Good luck !

I just have one complaint: when I run on a treadmills- sometimes a new employee comes in and starts cleaning that same treadmill. Now, if I were walking or running at a slow pace- I would not mind. But I run at 7-8 miles/hour and it seems extremely difficult for me to keep focus when their mops are passing next to inches of my leg when I am running at that speed. It is DANGEROUS! I would still understand that if all treadmills had people on it- in that case I would stop and let them clean first. But no- this morning I had half a dozen empty treadmills to my left and one empty treadmill to my right- but the young employee insisted on cleaning mine. This is frustrating. The main reason I go to Planet Fitness is for the treadmill, but if this bullying goes on for long, I don't think I can take it.

The Castle Hill location of Planet Fitness has great staff and great management. The staff are all hard working, helpful, friendly, and professional. There’s alot to be said about workplace culture because the manager Elhadj exhibits all of these qualities, as well. He truly is the example of demonstrating great qualities to create a motivated and professional workplace culture. Kev, on of the staff, always has a great disposition. I can’t name all of the staff, but ALL of the staff is excellent. I’m always in Manhattan because I’ve learned not to expect a lot from the Bronx, but this location of Planet Fitness is exceptional. They keep the place clean, respond to concerns, and make sure the members are happy. Not all locations are the same. This location really has high standards.

I really enjoy working out here and feel comfortable. The gym is very well taken care of. The equipment is well maintained, the bathrooms are always clean and the staff is very nice and helpful.

Today was my first day at planet fitness and it was fun, I went with one of my co-workers , I did not pay attention if poeople were friendly or not , but I most say that I like the environment there , and for the staff , I did not find any bad or rude one , both of them talk nicely , and what I most liked about that place is the fact that they have a trainer that can show you how to start and what to do , depending on what your goals are ❤️
