I don’t even know where to start. If you need a gym that still has $10 membership, this is it. Other gyms are a lot more expensive. Could Planet Fitness be better?! Sure. Could they have more equipment and less people at certain times?! Yes. But it’s ONLY ten bucks a month for a gym membership. It’s hard to beat. The staff is friendly at the front. The members are all over the place, but that’s New York. You come, you work out, you go home.

I got accused by the janitor, working the Register, for under paying for a Gatorade. I informed him I have a black card and had a discount. He then had to call someone down to confirm I was right. Maybe hire people who knows the job at a simple place like planet fitness.
The I was told I couldn’t buy anything at 10:50
I would think a gym, whose sales of beverage would be a upsell, seeing as we pay once a month, maybe that wouldn’t be a thing.

My home gym! It's my favorite location so far. The staff is always friendly and I've never had an issue with the actual facility. The people that come here however, can be very inconsiderate. They get very obnoxiously loud, slam weights, and just overall taking up spance. I workout with my airpods on blast and center and ground myself. I still decided to give this location 5 stars because thise people dont define this location and its staff. The gym is always clean and I always leaving feeling good beyond my workouts. I'll be sad when I move and have to do a different location.

Worst planet fitness I’ve ever been to. The people who workout here are like untamed animals. They never put anything back where it belongs. They take up 10 pieces of equipment at a time. The place is always packed and feels well above the 106 capacity they are allowed to have. Place is often too hot. I don’t know why the staff does nothing about the fact that nothing is ever put back where it belongs and weights are never racked, or that some people hog 10 pieces of equipment when it’s packed in here.

This is the cheapest gym option in the neighborhood, and it’s a fair deal.
Roughly 25% of machines, bikes, treadmills are broken at any given time.
1% of members are psychos, slamming weights, grunting, intimidating right under the “No Lunks” signage, taking phone calls, etc.
Otherwise this place is solid, I’ve been here for ten years. I think I’ve been maintaining (tightening) a single nut on the lone hand bike for half that time.

I’m living in nyc for college and previously had a planet fitness membership. I was excited there was one close to my apartment here. I couldn’t be more disappointed with the state of this facility.

Compared to other planet fitnesses I’ve been to, this one is far below subpar. Free weights are constantly either in the wrong spots, strewn about, or just flat out missing. It’s a guarantee that every time I go, I will have to search the whole building to find the weight I’m looking for at least once. Either enforce your cleanup rules or buy more equipment. The photo here show Amy missing dumbbells on a relatively unpacked day. Additionally many benches are missing.

Secondly, this facility is laid out nicely and has seemingly enough space, but it could be 9am in the middle of the week and still it’s hard to find any open racks. They need more than the 4 they have.

Many people who go here are disrespectful, loud, slamming weights and grunting, or trying to start fights. It doesn’t surprise me nothing is ever clean or where it’s supposed to be because many of the people who go here act like animals and cavemen with no regard for others.

If you’re able to, do not go to this gym. Find a better location or different gym. This location fulfills every negative stereotype Planet Fitness has. I’m this close to canceling my membership while I’m in school. I can’t wait until I graduate and go back home so I can go to a location that’s decent and run sensibly.

I'm a relatively new member to Planet Fitness--I've been a Black Card member for three months, and my closest location is the Broadway spot in Bushwick, Brooklyn. While I prefer alternatives to going to the gym, winter makes outdoor exercise challenging. The $30/month Black Card membership and access to two hydromassage beds and two massage chairs are what drew me in. I figured if I spent an hour or two, (I averaged four visits a week), I could use the treadmills, weight machines and, most important for me, the massages. But even for that price and those perks, I couldn't ignore the gym's overall poor upkeep--machines frequently out-of-order, a noxious sour musky mildew stench. Empty paper towel dispensers. Missing or unfilled bottles of cleaning equipment wipe-down spray. Dirty paper towels littered around machines and floors. Overflowing trash bins. The women's locker room? Hair and grime everywhere. Using the showers? Unthinkable. Even the massage "spa" equipment--the very thing that made me sign up--was unreliable. While there were technically two hydromassage beds and two massage chairs, 95% of the time, only one of each actually worked. And the chair? It was five or eight minutes instead of the standard ten. It wasn't until I visited other Planet Fitness locations--Herald Square (35th St) and Midtown West (55th St) in Manhattan, plus two in Southern California (Encino and Sepulveda Blvd.)--that I realized just how subpar the Bushwick branch really is. Those locations were clean, well-maintained, and had fully functional, newer equipment. The difference was staggering. If you have the option, go to another location. Seriously. The redeeming factor here is the kind staff, but that's not enough. Whoever owns and manages the Bushwick Planet Fitness--step up. Do better. Your members deserve better. Much, much better.

I believe it would be best to refrain from using the polishing spray or any similar product while people are working out. The strong chemical odor made me feel extremely nauseous, to the point where I had to vomit. There were so many people coughing and covering their nose. Please just wait until the gym closes or before opening!!!!

Home away from home. Has one of the better and spacious black card spa area. Centrally located and super friendly staff. It definitely gets crowded during the afternoons and nights, so make sure to check the crowd meter on the PF app. Took off one star for cleanliness. I like that the equipment is spaced out, but there are often broken machines, and the treadmills are old. The large windows let in plenty of natural light, which helps avoid a cramped feeling. The gym is less crowded and looks more organized in the early morning until about noon. However, the outdated and broken machines, along with people hogging free weights and using multiple machines at once, might be annoying for some.

There are literally never enough weights or machines. 3pm, 5pm, 9pm, 6am - literally NEVER have a free machine or dumbbell without a weight. Adds an hour to my workout so just go somewhere with a longer commute. This is ridiculous.

8/22/2024 not sure what's happening as I've been coming to use hydro beds 😒 but last 2 months bed#3 malfunctions I'm told technician will fix it. How long does it take to get this fixed? In any case planet fitness does not hesitate to take .monthly fees & other but why is it taking so long to repair thie issues? I'm hoping I get response cause as a customer NOT feeling very valued in being misinformed services are going down if customer is being misinformed. Awaiting follow up

Excelente area de relajación después de hacer los ejercicios. Tienen las camas de masaje con agua y las sillas de masajes han sido muy relajante. This gym is ruled by mediocre men who use 5 machines at once, don’t rerack, don’t wipe down the machines after use, leave trash everywhere, and do 5,000 sets during busy hours with no regard for anyone else. Oh! And you’ll probably get hit on by a man when you’re just minding your own business. I wouldn’t be surprised if staff is scared of them lol, because paper towels are

The positives about this location is that it is next to multiple bus lines, the members are overall respectful, and the staff is generally kind.

The negatives is that the stairmaster machines have been broken for SEVERAL months. They send an engineer every week to "fix" it. JUST REPLACE THE MACHINES. It's so annoying because the other PF gyms have the upgraded stairmasters already.

PF is not sending this location sanitizer and soap. If they have it, there is clearly no urgency is making sure the spray bottles, paper towels, sanitizer, and soaps are being refilled. And needless to say, that's just unsanitary.

I really want to see this location do well, but these issues must be addressed. PF is letting this place fall apart.

When I go to the gym the manager is always in the back room sleeping and never handles any serious situations with the customers.I had to freeze my credit card because someone who works at the gym keeps trying to take money out of my credit card to make purchases.Someone who works at the gym keeps try to use my Apple ID to download load paid for apps.When I went to the gym the manager was un professional and the manager he refused to give me a copy billing history.Finally a different gave me the billing information for my gym account.Even some of the other employees know that the manager is wrong.The equipment is was dirty and I saw lots of bed bugs🪳 in the locker room even some were crawling on the gym equipment.That’s why I decided to leave this gym and never come back.This gym has too many red flags🚩👀 it’s not worth the money .Now I go to a different gym in a very nice area.The new gym I go to is way better than this one.The planet fitness at this location is a scam.📵🫵🏾

I tried to resolve the situation for over three months. I've had enough. Planet Fitness charged me an extra $15 every month, more than the monthly membership. It turned out later that it was due to an error because they couldn't charge me the first time (even though there was money in the account), so they charged me later with a $15 fee. I tried to contact the manager, but he was never available—either too busy or the system wasn't working. So, I contacted my bank and got a refund for the money I shouldn't have paid. After that, Planet Fitness charged me again, but this time it was $50! It was shock. I filed another claim with the bank, but this time the money didn't come back. I went to the gym (I moved to Staten Island, so it's kinda not comfortable and expensive) and finally managed to talk to the manager. They offered me three months of a free membership because of this mistake, and I agreed. Before I could close the claim, Planet Fitness charged me again, this time $50 and I can't create another claim! The bank refused to pay the first claim. So, now I have -$100 on my bank account, which shouldn't have been deducted at all. Planet Fitness is not resolving the situation. I don't need the three-month membership anymore. I want my money back.
