I'd say the best time to be there (definitely NOT the afternoon) but then most would do their best to do it. Suffice it to say it's always clean throughout, the staff greets you warmly, the music Playlist is (now) decent (use to be great) and very loud. The other gym goers all know one another and do not hog machines. I am in and out in under 50 minutes working the whole body. Edit: Nothing new to add except bring in free weight bench press apparatus. (Updated 10/24/25)

I have been a loyal Planet Fitness member since 2018 (and previously since 2013 at another location) and have always enjoyed my experience. The staff has historically been kind, courteous, and helpful, always willing to assist with equipment and ensure a positive environment. I usually attend with my teenage son, who is my Black Card guest, and we have never had an issue checking in, until our encounters with Harte.

On two prior occasions, Harte requested my son’s high school ID and for his picture to be taken. We complied both times without resistance, despite my noting that this process had already been completed. On each occasion, her demeanor was unwelcoming, but we complied nonetheless.

On our most recent visit, slightly after 10 p.m., we both scanned our QR codes at check-in. Harte again asked for my son’s ID and insisted that his picture be retaken. We did not have our IDs with us, as we were only planning for a quick late-night workout. At the time, Harte was visibly agitated while dealing with another guest who appeared to be in a nearly identical situation—having already provided his guest’s ID and photo on previous visits.

Harte’s approach escalated quickly. She became loud, demeaning, and repeatedly threatened to have the police remove our guests, who, notably, were minors and were sitting quietly waiting to work out. When I asked what steps we needed to take to prevent this issue in the future, she refused to answer directly, instead accusing me of “harassing” her, stating she was “disengaging,” and ultimately refusing service. She threatened to cancel my membership, along with the other gentleman’s, despite there being no disruptive behavior on our part.

Throughout this interaction, her subordinate remained calm and professional, even quietly advising her against calling the police. The situation was unnecessarily hostile, and it was clear that Harte created conflict where none existed. The guest recorded the incident, and in the end, the police never arrived—likely because there was no legitimate cause for their involvement.

In over a decade of membership, I have never experienced such unprofessional, aggressive, and unwarranted treatment from any Planet Fitness staff member. This incident was deeply disappointing and does not reflect the welcoming and judgment-free environment Planet Fitness claims to provide. I sincerely hope this matter is addressed so that no other members have to experience such behavior.

Hart/Heart Denied me access to use the restroom after a man harassed me off the street.

“What does a man harassing you on the street have to do with using the restroom”

I then explained that I have a membership and gave her my name and phone number.. she proceeded to stall and not allow me access to bathroom

I left my phone unlocked and bag at the counter. Used the restroom and returned to find her calling the police and keeping my items behind the counter

It was her intention I believe to try and make me the unsafe problem because she chose not to operate from a place of courtesy

I typically enjoy going to this Planet Fitness location, but lately, the experience has changed significantly. There has been a noticeable increase in the number of teenagers at the gym. When I asked a staff member about it, they explained there’s a summer program allowing teens to work out for free — which I think is a fantastic initiative to promote health and wellness in the community.

That said, the way this program is being managed leaves a lot to be desired. The gym has become extremely overcrowded, making it difficult to access machines. Dirty paper towels are often left behind, personal items are scattered near equipment, and large groups tend to huddle around machines without using them, which adds to the frustration.

As a paying member, it’s disheartening to see the gym’s cleanliness and accessibility decline. I fully support the idea of encouraging young people to work out, but this program needs much better oversight and enforcement from Planet Fitness staff. With better management, I believe this initiative could benefit everyone — without negatively impacting the regular gym experience.

Let me first say, I really like this gym. However, I agree that the influx of teens in the summer is not being managed well. I love that young people are being encouraged to form healthy habits. But generational differences and just a lack of knowledge of basic gym etiquette adds up to an unpleasant experience lately.

Today, 3 of the machines I used had the weight selection pin obviously jammed in while the mechanism was partially engaged so it was very hard to pull out and reset.

The leg press machine had 3 huge backpacks, 2 smaller bags, and a hall empty iced coffee cup clustered around it on the floor, or leaning against it. No one was using the machine or even near it.

Several machines had used paper towels, half empty water bottles, even a soda can left on them.

The ab coaster machine was being used like a swing set by young person after young person, for the entire 45 minutes I was there.

At one point, a young man was on a FaceTime call on the machine next to me. Without headphones.

The benches and some machines are being used not to work out, but to sit and chill and scroll through TikTok.

Young people are running full out across the floor. I had a guy run through the small gap between the leg press and leg extension machines, and run right into the foot pad of the leg extension machine as I was lifting it. He did not stop to even acknowledge what happened, much less apologize.

I don’t expect new members, especially younger people to necessarily know gym etiquette. Nor do I think it should be up to me or other gym goers to report to the manager every time bad behavior is happening out on the floor.

My suggestions are to walk around and patrol what’s happening more often (and replace the cleaning supplies near the far wall…)

But MAINLY, I suggest a brief orientation and overview of rules and etiquette when a new member joins. Giving them a handout or posting 8.5”x11” signs in black and white with tiny type is not going to cut it, obviously.

I’m hoping the crowds of young people die down just like the New Year’s resolution folks in January. Fingers crossed, because again, you are doing so much right at this location. Thanks!

I love this location when kids are in school — clean, not too busy, lots of equipment — but unfortunately it’s overrun with large groups of teenagers in the summer who goof off, hog (and break) machines, don’t wipe machines down, etc. Not much employees can do, I imagine, but I may go somewhere else during the summer for my workouts.

I've had membership on and off over the years for this specific location. I can say that the place has really improved in part due to 3 things. 1: the equipments have improved. There a new machines and also a wide variety. 2: the layout has changed. Most of the machines that were downstairs are now upstairs so the flow of people plus variety in machines make it so that don't have to wait long or at all to work out. 3: management. There wasn't anything wrong with the previous manager or workers but I have to say this new crew are on top of things especially the manager who helps out immediately instead of saying let's wait and see. Very professional and courteous. All this together makes this location stand out from other locations. I don't even live over here but prefer this location as opposed to the one closer to me.

I've been working out here for over a year. A few things I really like about this gym: 1. It has a lot of newer equipment, I appreciate the recent upgrades, 2. The staff are very kind and friendly, 3. It's not usually too crowded (you can check the app too if you want to avoid busy times), 4. The price is very fair.

With the new equipment upgrades, I do wish there was a bit more floor space for stretching and free weight workouts, but overall it's enjoyable to work out there. While PF isn't a "bells & whistles" place (I used to be an Equinox member for years) at the end of the day, it really has all you need!

This location surprised me, despite the shotty wifi service. It was clean, modern and upkept.

However I encountered a check-in issue and the person, Ghandi, handling the front desk; didn't exude the same energy to me as the previous customer. I will say I had quite a wait until he ironed out her concerns (slightness complexion).

When it came to me, he was quick to get me away, though, I pleaded with him to call corporate to be advised. His manager at that location showed the same energy.

CLUE: CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT THE FALSE SMILE AND DISPOSITION AN EMPLOYEE DISPLAYS WHEN GREETING OR ADDING TIME ON MASSAGE EQUIPMENT. The staff has always been friendly and they do a good job of maintaining the place. I see them cleaning every day and the locker room is tidy.

But the layout of the gym is so poor that I'd go somewhere else if there were any better options in the area. Just getting to the locker rooms is a struggle. You have to walk a narrow path flanked by the free weight section and big machines, so it's an awkward single-file shimmy to get through without bumping into anyone or interrupting their set. Frankly it's probably bad enough to be unsafe, with people swinging their arms pulling cables and lifting dumbbells. I'd move all free weights up stairs with the treadmills/bikes/etc and leave the squat racks and machines down there.

Other than that, it's serviceable for a commercial gym. Occasionally someone will be having a loud phone call, but for the most part it's a nice crowd with plenty of familiar faces and pleasant interactions. I wish they'd get rid of the extra ellipticals and bikes that truly never get used, and instead invest in some heavier kettlebells (35lb ain't much!) and a better layout.
