Its a decent gym but the mens room is terrible. It REEKS of URINE. It must be cleaned on the hour at least the urinals and floor near it. Its no way that restroom night or day should be smelling like that(AWFUL). Great staff and cleanliness throughout the rest of the gym. But that restroom is TERRIBLE! !

Not the worst PF I’ve been to, but there are some no-brainer things this place needs to work on. The trash cans are all over flowing and the bathrooms are gross, meanwhile there’s 3 employees behind the counter just on their phones and chatting.
Also it’s super weird there’s no mirrors or hooks anywhere in the black card spa area. Where are we supposed to put our stuff, all over these filthy floors?

My wife and I visited the Planet Fitness in Carle Place, Long Island for the first time, and we were really impressed! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with smiles and made us feel completely welcome. The place has a very well ventilated hvac system in place keeping those smelling very strong at a minimum! Multiple exercise equipment available. As well as huge fans mounted above the treadmills to make for a very comfortable run! Last but not least the filtered water fountains actually work unlike other gyms.

I am PF gold member and can use any PF but I like this location more than other PF near my home or near my work. This location is open 24 hours everyday including holidays and as I get off work late and like to workout late nights, I enjoy coming even if I have to drive 17min. It is always clean, never too crowded, never had to wait for climbmill ( stairmaster) or treadmill. Members here are noisy nor loud. Everyone is polite so far. No complaints~

My Concerns Are The $15 Additional Dollars For Late Fees. I have been a member of Planet Fitness for almost four years now. While I appreciate the gym's facilities and the affordable price of $10 a month, I wanted to share my experience.

Unfortunately, I have only managed to visit the gym about five times or less during my membership. I find that I lack the motivation to go regularly, despite the gym being nearby. It often requires a push for me to make the trip.

Additionally, one concern I have is that the gym can become quite crowded. Depending on the time of day, it can be challenging to find available machines, which can be a bit discouraging.

I believe Planet Fitness is a nice gym overall, but I wanted to provide this feedback as I continue to consider how I can make better use of my membership.

I am writing this letter acknowledging the excellent service provided at the Carle Place, New York Planet Fitness location. The manager (Sana), and Heather (Sana's manager), are among the most effective managers in the fitness industry. They listen to customer concerns and work to fix any issues that happen at this club. They work hard to keep the gym clean.

This location (Carle Place) maintenance is difficult one, because of the traffic it receives. Being 24/7 makes this location the best gym in New York City, but some spoiled, entitled, or jaded members constantly ask for more personalized services that can not occur at the price point of Planet Fitness. Unfortunately, very few of the same customers who complain about cleanliness seldom bend down to pick up random paper towels or debris that others may have tossed on the floor. A gym is a community in itself, and not a private country club. We all have to help keep the gym clean.

There are times when the Carle Place gym location seems below Planet Fitness' corporate cleanliness requirements, but the stress involved in properly servicing such a high volume fitness facility can be overwhelming. People do not take pride in their work in entry level positions anymore. When MOST of the staff are asked to help, they help. Throughout NYC, workers can be seen stepping over trash on the floor, instead of picking it up.

The men's showers do have hot water issues. Some days it works, other days it does not. The shower heads do not stream properly and are old. Unless this was fixed two weeks ago, this has been a problem for a year. BUT the price is low for the gym, so we patiently wait until repairs happen. Last year, a men's locker room sink was broken for months. Some clothing hooks are missing in dressing rooms in men's locker room also, but it is accepted because the price is low. Secondly, careless customers break things also, so it is not always Planet Fitness' fault.

During the week, the Carle Place, New York location is regularly so clean and pristine that customers make demands on the staff as though they are paying membership prices similar to high-end fitness clubs like Lifetime or at least Equinox. At night, and on the weekends, staff might miss some things. It does not help that many customers are dirty and have zero pride in their gym. Carle Place Planet Fitness is the best value, dollar for dollar, in New York.

The Long Island/ New York State minimum wage is $16.50 per hour. Because of the high cost of living in New York, a lot of employees are not motivated to work hard anymore. A good job should be done, no matter what they pay rate is, but that is not how it is at Carle Place Planet Fitness. That is how younger generations are. They fail at simple tasks like placing tissue paper in bathroom stall dispensers and place the roll of tissue on top of the dispenser instead. This happens at night and on weekends regularly. With these poor habits and lazy attitudes, managers are left to manage gyms differently and are responsible for making sure all work is completed themselves.

Overall, the Carle Place, New York Planet Fitness location is the best value in the nation, but most customers complain and are entitled by the hypnosis of getting so much value in at a location that is convenient to everyone. New York is one of the most expensive cities in America, yet a outstanding value can be enjoyed by all Planet Fitness members who visit or join the Carle Place location. It is perfect? No, but the staff are nice and the equipment is new. Nothing can be perfect that has the volume of visitors that this gym has. This is a beginner to intermediate level type gym, and many of the customers do not know proper gym etiquette. They do not return their equipment back to the racks where they are supposed to be. All in all, the staff are nice and the gym is a jewel for providing such an accessible facility where we can train.

The reply desk staff is exceptional, and much better than the other locations. The staff greet meet when I arrive, are very professional and friendly, and help schedule for the black card spa services really well.

Especially Aaly, and Kaalon, are really great. And THEY are why I would rate this location a 5 stars bc the.

I dot give the 5 stars bc the music is terrible. It seems all the planet fitnesses play a terrible assortment of music. Some is good, but quite a bit isn’t.

This was the wosrt experience. I signed up for the $1 deal in January my first time going was in February. When I got there it was crowded. Not really clean and uncomfortable I was there for 20 mins. I left and canceled as I was leaving. I was chargerd the maintenance fee which I like to be refunded the maintenance fee cuz I do not plan on EVER going the customers service is even bad!!! The Good:
Plenty of parking, convenient access from the highway, modern facility, clean bathrooms, well designed with a brighter decor. Large locker room, shower area, and led lighted mirrors. Spray, soap, and paper towels well stocked.

The not so good is the cardio equipment. It's old and outdated compared to other locations. It was difficult to calculate my usual calorie burn for a comparable machine. It could be a user error.

The facility is always clean and there seems to always be a team member walking around and ensuring the space is cleaned up. Since reopening, a lot of the machines have been fixed. What I like about PF is the price is right.
Negatives are a few. Patrons leave the equiptment, all types weights and kettle bells, all over the palce on the floor. The employees do not make frequent rounds picking up and straightening up the gym area of these weights. Anyone, young or old, can trip and fall and become seriously injured.
Patrons will commondeer the bench press racks in excess of 30 minutes, half the time they are on their phone and not working out. Again, the employees need to partol better.
In the last 2 months, I have used the bench press racks twice because people do not move along.
You took away an abdominal machine when you re-organized earlier this year. I made a request for an explanation on the FB page but noone got back to me. This was an awesome machine. What was the reason for eliminating it?

What happened to all the good machines? Since day one of grand opening at this new location, you went from having two sets of dumb bells at 75lbs then somehow the one set disappeared to this day! You took out a good arm curl machine, you stuck in a new one that’s uncomfortable and terrible! You took out other machines that you didn’t replace with so now the gym had less machinery than it did before the replacements. The layout is horrible, it looks like you accommodate more to the 30 minute express light workout then anything else! You shoved the chest fly in such a tight area where people want to try to walk by without getting whacked. Was the idea of the person done when they were sober or coherent? Staff is at least still kind but aside from that, the gym just is not what it used to be. Very disappointed for bicep workouts! Old layout was the best.

Its a cool vibe. The women's bathroom could be cleaned more often. Every time I enter the bathroom its tissue and paper towels on the floor.

The equipment is usually available, and plentiful. I did not like that the 30sec clock in the circuit station was missing. Or maybe they removed that option, because I saw 2 private like areas where weight training was occurring, which is something we don't have at my smaller gym.

I like that you can use the black card amenities by scanning your card and selecting your time on the computer. Cool feature.

They recently got new machines and changed the placements, so this is a new review on the gym. Took away 2 stars for losing some of the machines that I used a lot (lateral raise, leg curl,leg extension, etc.). Less machines than before, and the placements are really unorganized. Some machines make it impossible to get through to the other side if occupied. I appreciate all the new machines, but really wish they kept the same amount of machines. I do not recommend this gym any longer.

I recently left a review for Carley Place Planet Fitness regarding the need to refill cleaning stations and maintain cleanliness in the women’s bathrooms. To my surprise, someone from the gym actually called me back to address these concerns and assured me they would work on it. It’s rare to see such proactive customer service, and it really impressed me. I didn’t expect my review to make a difference, but their prompt response and commitment to improvement were amazing. On July 24, 2024, the equipment in this club was changed and that has ruined it. Despite this being the most congested club in Nassau county, someone decided to REMOVE equipment. Many ab machines are gone and now different machines are strewn about the club in no apparent sense of organization. The men’s locker room has zero ventilation and always smells terrible. The absolute worst planet fitness in Nassau county, the issue is space; staff and cleanliness are alright, but there is nothing worse than walking into the gym and walking out. How is it that every single machine for chest, triceps, back, legs and bicep are taken along with all dumbbells gone. If you want to workout between 3:30PM and 9PM don’t bother wasting your time. I had an unpleasant visit to this location. I am a long-time customer of Planet Fitness, and my daughter is an employee of Planet Fitness. So I was very much dissatisfied when I wasn't greeting upon entering. Cleanliness of the restroom could be better. When I went to the counter to use the massage chair, I had to say hello 3 times before this young employee responded while having his headphones in sitting down. He was melancholy and conducted himself as if I was annoying him. I live in Texas, and I don't have to put in a schedule time to use a chair. But even while I've been in NYC, everyone I have asked at all the other planet fitness as well as this one just did it for me. So I didn't get my massage, and I walked out.

The only issue I have is they need to be on top of the paper dispenser more. I don’t want to have to walk around the whole gym to find paper to help you clean your equipments.

Once great when reopened, now machines are constantly out of order and the paper towels are empty on both sides. You have to walk on the other side of the gym to get paper towels.

What a fabulous club! It's immaculate and the staff is so kind.
My only complaint is one that I have across all Planet Fitness clubs - while I love the judgment-free zone, a scale would greatly help to track progress. Maybe put them in the locker rooms, enclose them in stalls to ensure privacy, thereby maintaining the judgment-free zone.
Of course, I mention it because it is Planet Fitness, it is not the decision of this particular club. Highly recommended.

Very dirty. Used paper towels all over the workout floor. They ran out of paper towels so cleaning equipment was not an easy thing to do. Front desk staff too busy socializing and were not attentive . Not enough equipment for the crowd they draw. I've been to dozens of Planet Fitness gyms all over the east coast and this location is by far the weakest link. There is a planet fitness a few miles a way that I will visit in the future. I was there May 28, 29 and 31 2024.

Love the gym. The people that work there are great.
But the company needs to emphasize on keeping it more cleaner. The machines are filthy and a lot of them are broke constantly. It's very convenient being open 24 hours. You have to make the best of it.

Was at the counter to ask a question and place an order after a workout when only one staff was at the register to help a customer for more than 20 minutes. Normally this would be fine since there’s usually 2 or 3 people at the register so the others could help other members but because there’s only 1 it held up everybody.

I got a 3 day pass online to check out LA Fitness. I was refused admittance by Devon, who claimed to be a manager. He lied. He told me my CO drivers licence made me ineligible. I had to have a NY state license. He told me to either get out or pay $20 for a day pass. He was rude and aggressive. I am a member of 3 other clubs. 24 hour fitness and a local Denver club and a Pilates studio. I wanted to check out LA Fitness because I travel a lot and if I wasn't treated so poorly I would have joined. LA Fitness gets zero stars
