I’ve been a PF member for it a very long time, specifically at this location. It has always been stellar. Throughout this year, though, multiple machines are routinely out of service, many taking up to a few weeks to fix. i can look past this, but it’s frustrating. It seems there’s no urgency or proactiveness.
What bothers me most, though, is that the men’s bathroom is disgusting. The stall walls have the same white streaks for months, there is dust building up on toilet paper holders, lockers go uncleaned (same garbage in them for weeks to months-manager, please see locker #61 which is uploaded here as an example). Worst of all is that one of the two urinals has been out of order for multiple months. People use it and the urine sits there. It’s rancid and STINKS. How long does it take to fix a urinal?? At least cover it so that nobody disgustingly uses it! I’ve brought these matters to staff members routinely and nothing gets done. I get comments like “I kid you not, we JUST cleaned the bathroom.” Today I was told “we haven’t had male staff members..” as if that’s a valid excuse to not clean your bathrooms!? Workers state the manager has gotten many complaints. Here’s another, more public one. Hoping a poor review does the trick. Thank you for your time.

The gym is clean and I found everyone to be very polite that works here. My criticism is that the 30 minute circuit is never supervised. People just go in and out on random machines and spend way too long on them. I then have to bounce around to different ones and remember which one I missed. Also, one of the abduction machines has been missing the pin for the weights for months.

I have been to this Planet Fitness several times and I had no problem. Today I went and she examined me to start my exercise and Miss Jena helped me. She was very unpolite with the entrance service. Way better than the Hampton bays location that I’m at now. Very spacious a lot of multiple equipment so you don’t have to wait long to get on it. The girl at the front desk on Tuesday was very nice polite and helpful. I’ll be changing over from Hampton bays to the Centereach location soon.

So once again they open late on Saturday, today was 7:12, 25 members waiting and again no apology, nothing! The gym was a mess, still the filter in the water fountain is red. Time to switch gyms.

Most Saturdays the staff opens the late. Never an apology. Today was 30 minutes late. Water fountain filter has been red for over 3 weeks, broken cables stay like that for weeks. This was never like this but the last 6 months it’s been very disappointing.

A very unscrupulous business that takes money they are not owed.Instead of taking $14.99 a month they took $24.99.They said they could not get the money from the bank and charged me a $10 late fee.The bank has told me that my account always had enough money in it to meet the payments.When they stole the money I killed the account so they could not steal any more money.They then charged me more money.I went down there and tod them I am out of the gym.They said I could not opt out without paying more late fees.This is extortion.The bank told me they have seen this problem many times with Planet Unfitness.They are crooks with very bad business practices.Go elsewhere.This is NOT an honest gym.

I've been working out at Planet Fitness for a while now, and l've had a generally positive experience.
The weights and cardio machines are all in excellent condition and function properly, making it easy to get a comprehensive workout. The HydroMassage bed is a particular highlight-it's incredibly comfortable and applies pressure perfectly to ease tension after a tough session. The restrooms are always clean, which is a big plus. My only suggestion for improvement would be to slightly lower the air conditioning temperature for a cooler sensation. This would help prevent overheating from sweating during intense workouts. Overall, Planet Fitness provides a great environment for achieving fitness goals.

It's 11am on a Saturday, and as usual half the paper towel machines are broken, and the other half empty. Alot of people here, and everyone of them going from paper towel machine to paper towel machine, then leaving their equipment uncleaned. This facility isn't nearly as clean as the Selden location to begin with, but if people.cant wipe down their equipment, then this place is absolutely disgusting!! Here are my most urgent complaints
1. Half of the paper towel machines are broken, the other half are empty. This is the case no matter the daynof the week or how many employees are behind the counter. 3 people playing on their phones, nobody refilling paper towel machines.
2. Never clean. When I slwent to Selden, there is always an employee dusting, vacuuming, or just general cleaning. I've been coming here 2 hours a day since April 1st, and I have never seen anyone cleaning regardless of how many employees are present.
3. I pay the extra $20 for the premium membership, but 90% of the time I try to use the massage beds/ chairs, tanning booth or beds, they are out of order, being serviced, or some other issue... are you going to refund my $20 this past month? Not a simple member perk was available for all of April.
4. Messy. Probably a good Idea to stack all the garbage and boxes anywhere but right in front of the key rack!! Having to climb over boxes to get my keys is not how I want to wrap up my workout. Better yet, have one of the employees on their phone break them down, amd take em out to the dumpster.

I'm ready to either find a new gym, or drove the extra 10 minutes to Selden. If the equipment can't be wiped down it's only a matter of time until someone gets ring worm, MRSA, or any number of other constractable diseases. Please let me know when all of these issues have been addressed and I'll consider revising this review....

My family and I have made the decision to never visit Planet Fitness locations, and are encouraging our friends and extended family to do the same.

It is deplorable that their policies allow women to feel vulnerable and unsafe in the locker rooms, by allowing men to freely enter at any time!

I prefer my wife and daughter feel safe while changing at the gym. And I certainly don't want some strange man near them!

If you're already a member and voice your concerns? They'll just ban you!

Music is horrible! Bring your headphones. Rockbot music app is open for everyone to make music requests, but recently the front desk staff flood it with their picks and the music is horrible. In my opinion the music should be for the paying customer exercising and not for the staff. I did contact the location manager and I was told that there was nothing that they can do for me.

In response to the follow up comment: I did talk to the manager and he said sorry there is nothing that he can do. The staff will continue to put their music selections in.

Jeff was so great. I signed up on the phone. So when I went in for my first day Jeff's the one that gave me a tour of the whole gym and didn't rush it and answered all my questions, told me how to use different machines he was very nice and he's still very nice. The whole team at the centerach gym is very nice it's always clean and even the members are very nice and helpful to each other

This place is alright. But lately half the treadmills are broken. Theres not enough free weights. Too much emphasis on tanning beds and water beds that no one uses. You need more cable machines and free weights. Also they used to have two of the assisted dip and pull up machines and for years now they have only had one. Why can’t you replace the other one? I can never get on that machine. Please, I used to love this gym but changes need to be made. What am I paying the yearly maintenance fee for? This gym used to be a lot better.

I went here for years and it has everything you need except the free weight bench press. I noticed too many people compensating for lack of striated density of muscles and there for used too much weight using other muscles to compensate and that hurts you in the end. I also noticed there is a very judgy vibe going around. A lot seem terrified of doing their thing without judgement. Little advise for anyone like that. Screw the haters. You're there for you. Also you critique yourself the most. Either way, I practiced and mastered the spin kick but fell a million times before getting it down. Also took me a while of looking silly before using the cables in a manner that now gets heads turning every damn time. It's annoying but after doing things my way, I noticed people copying me. You can impress and inspire others just believe in yourself!

We stopped in today to check out the club and consider joining. We thought the gym looked extremely clean, plenty of equipment and seemed to have everything for beginner gym goer to avid gym user. We were extremely pleased with our gym tour guide, Ameal (sp), she was pleasant, enthusiastic, and very helpful. We were shocked at the end where we were just able to sign up through the app. Her attentiveness, and enthusiasm appeared to be that of a highly trained sales person (this is not a diss but a compliment), someone who had a motive to be so good. In the end, it was a woman doing her job and doing it well, without needing a sale. We loved the gym, loved the price, loved the benefits of the Black Card, loved our tour, and we come home and signed up immediately.

UPDATE: To the person who replied, I've already stopped going to this location. Nothing was ever changed, maybe u should have talked to the manager since u work for the company?? It's always disgusting, machines covered in dust, no soap/sanitizer, etc. The machines never being lined up was the final deal breaker. And, a customer leaving a review shouldn't be told "oh call this guy and tell him". If you have access to reply to reviews, u can call the location and inform them of the issues customers are complaining about. I was a store manager for years and I would never a customer "go tell someone else", I would do it for them. Most people would just simply find another gym, which is what I've done.

Would be nice if someone could finally adjust the machines to be lined up, at least the Smith machines... I've seen people leaving reviews about this for almost a year now. I know they'll get moved with daily use but I can't think of the last time I used the bench press (smith) machine and saw it was lined up right. Have to try to adjust the bench to line up with the skewed machine angle, which leads to getting injured a lot easier. Really getting annoying dealing with this EVERY SINGLE DAY when every other location I visit has them lined up

It seems to me that some people on here are chronic complainers. I also go to this same gym and have never seen any of the things wrong that these people are complaining about. No business is perfect and I sure as heck wouldn't damn its reputation because I wanted to complain. You can simply call management and discuss the matter further if there is even an issue big enough to do that for. Prices are perfect but yes...if your a female that wants to bulk up like a man then your welcome to go somewhere else and pay more because us females are happy here.

So I’ve come back a few times and it was the same until when I came back this week after a few months. Idk what happened but it seems like a new staff and probably nee management. It’s super clean, someone always restocking, wiping, moping etc. I was close to switching gyms but need a place to rehab a bad shoulder and now that this place is looking awesome and the staff is top notch I’ll definitely use this location and planet for a few months more. Great job w the improvements *****I started off here last September but switched to going to selden as my primary soon after and I’d recommend you do the same. Due to work I’ve come back here twice at night last week and what a mistake. No paper towels to wipe equipment, stuff all over the floor and my wife tried using the restroom but both stalls had dirty toilet paper that someone threw after wiping. When she tried again over an hour later still there. I figured it was a night thing so I went today and I noticed people not wiping machines and benches and I soon joined them because I was tired of going in a mission to find paper towels. After the 3rd station was empty I just left. Go to selden. Constantly have someone walking around wiping things down, making sure everything is stocked etc etc
