I have enjoyed the Planet Fitness franchise after switching from another big outfit. I like the judgment-free vibe. Having a consistent experience with equipment everywhere I go, means I never have to worry. The Horseheads/Big Flats, NY location goes the extra mile with friendly staff and a clean facility. The PF Black Card spa is a special feature - I can enjoy tanning beds, hydro beds, and my longtime favorite: massage chairs! But wait, I now have another favorite - they now have new booths combining red light therapy with a vibration plate. These therapies are all over TikTok - iykyk! All this stuff is available at no additional charge to PF Black card members. Well worth it, in my opinion. Lindsay is my favorite staffer, very professional but personable and knowledgeable. She's helped me several times how to use a number of the spa amenities as well as equipment out on the main floor. Really good gym, great hours, I enjoy it.

I've been going to PF for years and there's no other gym in this area that I would go to. The staff are great especially King Travo! If I had it my way I would say he should open multiple PFs. The gym has evolved tremendously with different equipments and I love it. I love coming here! 10/10 recommend!!

10-29-25 UPDATE : The wall sanitizer has been replaced and all is good at PF .8-12-25 UPDATE -- Wall sanitizer has been empty for 2 weeks and I was told by staff that if it isn't order in their monthly order , they won't have any? With Covid and other germs this becomes a issue when you can't clean your hands after a work out.---

Staff does not appear to follow franchise clothing guidelines, including the prohibition of stringer tank tops. Additionally, an employee named Adam was assigned to dusting directly within my immediate workout area — a poor choice of timing and task considering members were actively using the equipment. The tops of the lockers could also use some cleaning attention.

Love Horseheads Planet💪. Everyone is so friendly and helpful with not just the equipment but the amenities of a black card member. Naked in the locker rooms while girls are taking pictures. Atrocious. And the employees let it happen.
EVERY OTHER planet fitness respects the privacy inside of the locker room. This one….. doesn’t care. Stay away. Go elsewhere. Where they respect a woman’s body and right to privacy.
Update: management called me to inform me, videos and pics are NOT ALLOWED in the locker rooms. I appreciated the update.
They did have the cleanest showers I have used in a while, with very hot water and a rainfall shower head. So I’ve updated my review to a 4.

This is the best gym I've been a part of. The employees are very helpful and kind- especially the guys who are there over night. I do wish it was 24 hours over the weekend since I'm an early riser. I appreciate the affordability and the variety of equipment. Thank you!

Update** Moved away from the area 8 years ago, come back yearly, and this planet fitness is one of the nicest and cleanest I’ve ever been in. It was good before they were in the mall but now in the mall, it’s even better. Travis the manager is awesome and does an incredible job keeping the place clean and well kept. Highly recommended

Good pricing, tanning beds are great but they make it very difficult to cancel. It’s 2025 why are you making people come into the gym to cancel a membership? It’s an attempt to borderline scam people. Just make it simpler.

Built my own gym and haven't gone to the gym in 3 months forgot about the subscription and didnt want to pay it since I wasn't going to it anymore. I had 3 months worth of charges and I wasn't able to cancel until I paid it off even though I had not set foot in the facility in 3 months. Memberships should cancel after you're unsuccessfully charged the first time. I shouldn't be able to rack up debt on a gym subscription. 100% will not go back and will never recommend to anyone. Thank God I have a good job or this membership might have screwed me over.

Long waits often to check in, staff will see you and walk away. Have to call front desk multiple times if I want to be checked into a massage chair, etc. only time things run smooth is if Travis is there. If he’s not, forget it. The cherry on top is being bugged to make a google review for 3 weeks straight. Here’s my review!
