Has a variety of fairly user friendly equipment for weight training, and plenty of treadmills/bikes/step machines. My only complaint is that there isnt enough of a calisthenics exercise area, theres only enough room for a small handful of people to actively do calisthenics or HIIT workouts. Staff is friendly and helpful, and LOVE the black card member area!

Gym is fine, my only complaint up until I found a cockroach on a hip adductor was that they aren't incorporating more free weight options like other planet fitness’s, but considering how often this place is closed it should really be sprayed for bugs regularly.

Everyone running the gym is very young including the managers on duty so when a situation comes that requires an adult persons evaluation and perspective you will not receive the due diligence or respect you deserve as a member. Your better off going to a gym where you can expect that the staff will be held more accountable for their inabilities and where there is someone who has the logic of customer service from a more experienced and skillful approach and there’s more mental range that can be initiated when needed.

Just retired and started going for last 2 weeks. I love the concept of the 30 minute circuit room. In the 2 weeks i havent seen 1 person using the room properly. Lacking management in this area. Hard to stay away from free tootsie rolls. :-)

UPDATE:
Thanks for reading and replying to my review. I did mention to desk before reviewing. I also offered some simple Suggestions that might help as I didn’t want to just complain. Back today and a member used 1 machine in 30 minute circuit room while did all other machines in about 20 minutes. She watch a movie while on it. Oh well.

Good gym and friendly staff, but if this PF is going to force people to check in with the front for the black card spa amenities, it would be nice to always have someone up front. Waited for 25 minutes and nobody showed up. Ended up just leaving. Not the first time it’s happened either.
Not mad at the staff, as I’m sure they’re busy, but there could be a better system for this issue.

Love the Hydro-Massage bed before and after a workout! Having the massage before my workout stimulates blood flow while then relaxing the body after the workout. Love it!!😆

It’s so convenient. The staff greets me upon arriving and leaving. That goes a long way to make members feel comfortable. The facility is kept very clean. I always see staff members taking care to clean all equipment. There seems to be sufficient equipment for the members. The equipment is well maintained. If there is a malfunction it is addressed in a timely manner. Thank you Planet Fitness!

Everything is fine except some of the people that go there have absolutely zero gym etiquette. Saturdays are horrible, all these older people just want to stand around and talk and they get in the way, or aren’t paying attention. I love this gym! It's immaculate and well maintained, and the staff are always very helpful if you need guidance using equipment or just have general questions.

There are plenty of machines and equipment, so you never feel crowded or have to wait too long (or at all) for anything.

The Planet Fitness app is very useful and also has a clever crowd meter so you know in advance when the busiest times are.

This gym is a great value and provides me with exactly what I need to have consistent and fun workouts.

This is the best planet fitness I’ve ever been to. I keep a membership specifically for gym access when I travel, because no matter where I’ve been in the US I’ve found a planet fitness. The equipment her is all new, the layout is great, it doesn’t smell and I saw workers here using cleaning equipment I’ve seen at no other gym before. This is a very impressive gym and should be a model for other planet fitness locations.

It's definitely a gym for more casual exercise (no pool, no steam room, no sauna, have to be fully dressed, not many free weights, no squat racks, etc.) but it's a great place for working professionals to go get some good exercise. I'm not crazy about their weekend hours, as they don't open until 0700 on Saturday & Sunday and they close at 2100 on Friday and 1900 on Saturday/Sunday, but it's a small gripe. Definitely a decent gym for not a huge money investment monthly & annually. Recommended, but don't expect a "real" gym or the amenities of a more serious gym designed to train IFBB pros.

At the Vails gate location in New Windsor NY I was impressed by the size compared to the location in Newburgh. It has much more equipment. The overall experience was great. I just wanted to share my experience with you all!! TODAY has definitely been a day, this was me & my husband’s first day back to working out after several years! That being said we were going really hard…might I say a bit too hard, Lol. Long Story short my husband has a HEART condition & ended up having a serious MEDICAL episode. Thanks to the swift action of “RANDY”, his staff and another gentleman at the gym; my husband was able to get the assistance & medical attention that he needed! I hope “RANDY” receives recognition for his contributions to this gym, he was a huge help to my husband and I today; and for that I am grateful. GodBless this PF, aside from being one of the cleanest facilities I’ve ever visited….they truly do care about each & everyone of their customers. They smile when you walk-in & are happy to offer their assistance; which is quit clear from this morning’s occurrence. I wish them longevity & will continue to pay patron here! ❤️

The staff, Bryan, Anthony, Zach, Randy, Rachel and the others are all very friendly. They greet you with a smile and address you by your first name when you check in. When they are not busy checking in clients, or helping them through their daily routine, they are cleaning in around and under the machines and making sure that there are no missing parts or parts that need replacing due to wear and tear. The locker room and bathroom areas are generally spotless, and the soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers are kept full. The staff seems to enjoy their jobs and that shows and how they treat the clients. All in all, the Vails Gate PF has a great staff who help clients reach their goals which by word of mouth, brings in more members looking for a great gym. I’ve been to many Planet Fitness clubs around the country and this Vails Gate location is one of the top ten in the country. I love this Planet Fitness!! 🏋️‍♂️
