Excellent gym, clean, enough machines, people move quickly, no one stays longer than the determined time on a machine, excellent attention at the entrance, I give the manager John a 100 for his attention, they told me they were going to close that place and it would really be a shame because of all the ones I have visited, that Planet Fitness is the best!!!

I visited this gym today and when I tell you I was soooo disgusted by the condition it was in. It’s really like a “get what you pay for” gym. Thankfully I went with a buddy pass cause I would NEVER sign up for this place. Let me first tell you, believe the bad reviews. I understand some people can settle for certain things but a gym should never feel, look or smell the way it did especially with all the risk of health hazards and us just getting over covid.
First off. The smell in this place is horrible. It’s like no air circulation, vents ain’t venting - like at all. You can feel and smell the musk. It’s not people it’s the entire facility. It’s a bad sewage smell and the crazy thing is, as you walk around ALL you see IS those automatic air fresheners you buy at CVS on the walls. Trying to hide the smell of the place. It just smells even worst when it’s mixing a fresh scent with sewage.
The stairs are dirty, they need to be mopped, you see dirt, hair, lent, shoe markings all on the stairs. Hire like a cleaning team (a professional one).
Bathrooms, dissssgusting. I had to hold my breath to get my stuff out. People dirty sock left behind. No bathroom attendants keeping the bathroom cleaned. Shower curtains need to be replaced ( I really don’t know who in their right mind would shower there) like grosssss.
The work out mats must be replaced, there is a lot of wear and tear.
You can see build up dirty on machines on the bottom. Just felt really nasty in there. Open some windows please. Contact venting system see what’s going on. Power wash this place from top to bottom. I understand why people pay a lot of $$$$ for gym memberships elsewhere. In New York, you get what you pay for people. Thankfully I was given a buddy pass but I won’t be returning again.

This gym keeps getting worse and worse..
I’ve been coming here for years bc it’s so close and cheap. First off the basement where the lockers are always reeks like sewage. They just got rid of the 30 min station and reorganized the gym in a way that literally makes no sense. The free weight area is always packed and before you could find little nooks where you could find space to workout in a corner, now you can’t. Before there was a section upstairs where you had some weights in a closed off area with mats so you could do weighted abs etc now there are only kettle bells and the weights are downstairs? They removed some of their treadmills and a lot of the ellipticals. Basically if you’re a girl there’s even more limited space and equipment than there were before. It’s hardly worth the cheap price anymore

My home gym is originally 157th in Broadway, but I work downtown so I end up here most of the time. It’s an amazing deal for the price. They have plenty of Equipment. I go really early in the Morning. It can get busy sometimes. Luckily We have Staff like Marisa who is a Gem. She is always on top of things. The Lady is Non stop Hard Working 1 Man army! She is always cleaning and maintaining the Equipment. I wish my home location had Marisa. Thank You for giving me a tidy well kept gym to get workout in.

$20 for a day pass which is reasonable for the area, and the pass is valid for 24 hours meaning you can visit two consecutive days. The gym is large with a lot of machines but has some clear gaps in the equipment, no free weight bench, squat rack or even barbells for deadlifts is a crime against bodybuilding 😂

It's generally not overcrowded, except right after work, and during the New years resolution season. Otherwise, you'll be able to get the bench or weights you want roughly when you want them. They have a decent number of machines, if that's your thing. Lots of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and stair machines. What they don't have is much of anything else. If you want space for stretching out, yoga, or equipment-less exercise, you'll be searching for space. And if you're looking for powerlifter equipment, you're not going to find it here. No ropes. No bands. Not many kettlebells.

money-saving tip: If your nose can handle it, every month, one of the two plans waives the $59 startup fee as promotion. For classic that is four months free, and for black that is two months free.

long: I did the rookie mistake of checking out the gym on a Sunday morning. The place was at about 25% capacity with a slight odor that was tolerable. I asked if they had any promotions, and I was informed that at the time they had promotion for the black and if I go back in a few days they might have a promotion for classic. Well October 1st, a Tuesday, came around and I joined on my phone. After work, I arrived slightly before 4:30pm, to get my picture taken and start working out. While I was signing documents and getting my picture a strong odor kept bothering me. I was thinking to myself it must just be by the front desk, so after I finished the registration process I decided to walk around the entire first floor, the same strong odor with the same intensity was everywhere. Then I walked to the second floor and same thing. The entire gym has the strong odor everywhere consistently. I thought I might have been overreacting so I go to a machine and adjust the weights and when I was about to sit down I thought to myself I can't do this. I walked back to the front desk and stated that I want to cancel. The person asked me why. I informed him because there is a very strong odor everywhere. He pointed to an air freshener and stated they gave several throughout the gym. I asked him if anyone before has canceled because it stinks? He replied no. I asked him if anyone else has complained about the order. He said yes, and added that they can't go up to people to tell them they smell. I explained to him that it's not one particular person making the entire two floors of the gym stink, there must be a problem with the ventilation. I asked him if they are broken or will be repaired. He replied no. I was contacted by someone at supremefitgrp that stated they will inform the management to keep the place clean.I highly do not recommend this location.

The locker room/rest room areas are disgusting. It seems like they are not being cleaned. There is a horrible smell coming from them and it is very hot and muggy downstairs. The AC was also not working well. It was not a good experience at this location. I do like the layout of this gym.

Incredible, I came to this Planet Fitneess headquarters, after finishing an exercise routine I asked for the massage room. After asking me if you are "Black Card" they gave me some coins and someone accompanied me to the massage room. When I got to that room I saw that a homeless person was sleeping in the massage rooms and the smell was unbearable. I had to run away. Terrible experience.

The place is descent for it's membership price. However, the insane smell of poop from the bathroom travels all over the three floors slapping you in the face from the moment you walk in! All the TV sets are set on CNN with Republican programming and Trump all day long and with Joel Olsen preaching on weekends make you avoid the cardio section. They are endorsing politics and Christianity annoyingly. Some equipment has been broken for weeks with the signs still up. Finally, the staff appears quite unapproachable and dry. That's what we get for $15. I figure that they Don't care.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The equipment is SO far out of date it’s ridiculous! No bathroom on the walk-in level. So, anytime you need to “go” you have to leave your work out and go down a flight of stairs. It is very inconvenient for those who have to take a diuretic! No bottle refill station to be seen on the lower or first floor. However, I didn’t go up the other two flights of stairs. Maybe it’s there. The gym equipment is in need of some maintenance……if it’s not going to be upgraded.

Planet fitness is the only gym i can afford in manhattan so you get what you pay for obviously. I go to the gym during the early morning hours between 6-7am and it’s overall been pretty clean and I’m able to get my work outs in with no issues. Some of the machines are definitely outdated but again, you get what you pay for. Tanning beds are alright- i definitely think this location could benefit from new bulbs though! New bulbs and this review would be a 5 star. I always see the workers cleaning and have never had any issues- although i absolutely will never leave any belongings in the lockers. All my stuff stays in my gym bag attached to me the whole time.

Very disappointed with this location. I have visited tens of locations across the country, this one takes the cake for the grossest locker rooms. The shower drains were caked in gunk and sludge, a dead roach laying in one, and walls coated in a layer of grime. I only saw one employee in the entire place, who was at the desk. One of the few times I have felt dirtier after taking a shower. The Herald Sq. or 14th St. locations are 100x better.

I used to love this location but now , it’s garbage. Everytime i come in, the locker room is filthy. No tissue, showers filthy, dressing room-dirty but then there’s always a lot of employees at the registers. I don’t get it. There’s a machine that’s been broken for 2 weeks now so when I came in , there were 2 other machines that were messed up. It used to be my go-to location but im starting to either find a further location thats clean or a different gym. At least maintain it if the machines aren’t working. I have heard several users complain about the loss of their belongings in the lockers and I was a victim a few days ago and the answer was “don't bring valuables.” As complaints are frequently made and the administration does nothing, that is why the thieves do it without a problem. Regarding cleanliness, I never see the bathrooms and lockers as clean, even the lockers are filled with garbage, you open them to store your clothes and they are full of garbage. They don't clean them, they smell bad, the shower floors aren't washed, etc.

Based on previous reviews seems like the on going issue in the men’s and women’s locker rooms where members are getting their belongings stolen without the owner doing nothing other than just replying to reviews and not offering a solution it is very concerning. Based on the way this acts are happening looks like employees could be part of these robberies. Members at more risk inside the gym than the streets Police doesn’t even bother to show up as they confirmed it is happening all of the time. Is it really convenient to consider a membership in a place like this. I don’t believe so. Definitely not.

During early days after the lockdown was lifted, planet fitness in HK was my only option to workout, and since my first time, it became the place where I finally felt welcomed and enjoyed my workout routine. Since that I’ve been touring across PFs around the city, and as much that I still value this gym, I believe that this abrupt unexpected change of working hours on every location of New York City, and lack of clarity about what was the cause to this move - while is unrealistic to believe that a sudden change of every gym is a result of individuals. This behavior contradicts the motto that pf carry on each location, and brings a dark shadow of mistrust to a brand that is based on the premise of being judgement free.

Breathtakingly positive vibes. I love this location but what I experienced today was very disrespectful to me and another customer. As I was heading out to leave and another customer who was showering, a worker turned the light off on us I felt very disrespected by what they had done. Not only did that happen but I overheard when she was telling her coworker “I’m tired and these people don’t want to leave”. I can’t come to a gym and workout in peace? this location needs to do better what type of people are you letting come in here?? Look at the rest of the reviews of the type of people that are there for no reason. Show up at a women’s locker room? What is the solution???? At this point it’s like they are ignoring all the negative reviews!!!!!!!

Truly unbelievable because PF stop 24 hours open. I lost my money every month but not able to go single day because only time I can go after midnight.
Hundreds of my friends canceled their membership and everyone is suffering.
PF should keep this location open 24 hours.

A male staff icame nto the women's locker room AND the women's shower area without announcing himself. When I confronted him about it, he took off his head phones, said he forgot to make the announcement and then continued his work in the shower area WITHOUT calling out, "male staff present." A woman was in the shower at the time.
