The worst location ever. A few months ago, I asked to freeze my membership for 3 months because I was going overseas. They gave me a business card with the supervisor’s name, John, and told me to email him. I did as requested.

When I came back, I discovered that I had been charged four times — with late fees included! Unbelievable.

I went back to the gym on September 19 to cancel my membership, but they still charged me again after cancellation, with another late fee!

It feels like they’ll keep charging me forever. Please be careful — don’t leave your debit or credit card information with them, even after you cancel. I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

IDENTITY THEFT & FRAUDULENT CHARGES

This Planet Fitness has been making unauthorized charges to my bank account. When I called my bank to block all future Planet Fitness transactions, they started charging my Credit Card. They also told the bank they have my authorization to make these charges.

I've never stepped foot inside any Planet Fitness in my life. I've never signed a contract with Planet Fitness. I've never done business with Planet Fitness. Yet they're saying they're authorized to charge my accounts.

I've called my bank again to re-open the investigation and provide me with the signed contract between me and Planet Fitness, showing I've authorized them to charge my accounts. Guarantee they do not have any contract with my signature. This is plain theft. I will escalate this to the CFPB, OCC, and NY Attorney General if this is not resolved.

And a reminder: locks on lockers can’t keep thieves out in any gym. Do not put anything of value in your locked locker. It will be stolen. Especially in midtown west.

My home gym, EVERYONE should works here is amazing and cordial, but, gotta shout out for my man Dane, young man. Very perceptive. On my days off I come twice a day to break up weights and cardio, he always remembers and just waves me in. I’m in hospitality/ fine dining , it’s little stuff like this that makes people remember and feel appreciated for being a patron. Thank you Dane. Planet Fitness has really screwed up all of their midtown locations by shutting down the NoMad location. There are no ‘off peak’ hours. There is hardly even a free machine anywhere. It’s bad.

I’m taking two stars away because people wear jeans and vape while working out. PF has no Jean policy, also the vaping is odd to see. No staff member walks around monitoring loud customers having phone conversations. People making work out videos too. They let homeless people use the facilities which is very charitable. If I didn’t work right next-door, I would avoid coming here at all costs. They don’t respect their female patrons. I gotta work out in after work one day and I finish my workout around roughly 10:15 PM. I walked into the locker room as a woman normally does post out. THERE WAS NO SIGN IN FRONT OF THE WOMEN'S LOCKER ROOM to inform me there was a man inside. I went in and began to undressed before I noticed there was a man in there. I addressed him and said oh my God I thought this was the women’s locker room. He said, "it is. I'm allowed to be in here." I asked him if he could step out or leave while I was changing. He responded and said he was allowed to be in there. He didn’t give a damn that I was uncomfortable. I tried to contact management. A location in Missouri called me which confused me. She told me that as long as there’s a sign in front, it’s fine. I don’t know why no one seems to hear me when I say there was no sign and that this shouldn’t have been OK. I received no apology nor any acknowledgment. I hate this location.

This is a pathetic excuse for a gym. Numerous machines have been broken for months now and nothing gets fixed. Everything is dirty. There are never paper towels in the dispenser to clean equipment. I am absolutely disgusted by the treatment I received from Jonairy Dominguez, the so-called club manager at this Planet Fitness location. Her attitude is beyond unacceptable—rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. She has no regard for customer service and clearly lacks the basic skills required to manage a facility. Instead of assisting members, she is condescending and unhelpful, making it clear that she has no business being in a leadership position.

I will be escalating this matter directly to Planet Fitness headquarters because this kind of behavior cannot and will not be ignored. If this is the type of management Planet Fitness allows, it speaks volumes about their standards—or lack thereof. I strongly advise anyone considering this location to stay far away. Price is the lowest in the city, at only $15 per month, but the quality is just as low… no real spin bikes, and only 2 semi-functioning upright bikes. Only 1 functioning (out of 2) weight racks / squat racks in the entire gym (bar weight also not labeled on those), which makes it really hard to get a lift in too…. And I wish their corp still had 24 hour locations… their weekend hours are pretty limited closing at 7pm, though 11pm on weekdays is pretty solid. The machines are old & crusty too, some of the ellipticals are slanted sideways which isn’t very safe to use! I don’t know whether they need adjusting or calibrating, whether the floor mats need to be leveled, or what… the locker room amenities are also kind of limited (eg no paper towels). The staff are nice though!

I had a disappointing experience at the worst Planet Fitness location in Manhattan. I purchased their black card membership 2.5 years ago without visiting the club first, making it my home club. When I finally went there for the first time, I was let down. The equipment was too closely packed together, and the massage bed was out of order.

I later chose a different location and forgot about this one until last week. I thought I would check it out again, hoping it had improved, but I was wrong. The equipment was in even worse condition. Some machines were missing rubber grips, while others lacked stoppers for the weights. To make matters worse, the Hydromassage bed still wasn't working. What’s the point of a black card membership if you can’t enjoy the amenities?

First time visiting as in area and wanted to check out. You have to walk up the front stairs to go to main floor to scan in. The floors (two other floors) are spacious with equipment. There is a fourth floor for black card members where workers can scan in the elevator to let you up for black card benefits. You have to fill out the signup sheet, then they give you a Planet Fitness token coin to use on the massage chair (2 of them there). They also have two rooms which I assume are the RLT and tanning.

i went here on a random Monday afternoon. this was my first time at this location. i saw clean floors, clean equipment, good decent people who leave you alone. i was not troubled. i was not bothered. I got my work out in.

yes, i see reviews of people saying there are homeless people here who shower and so on. i saw no such thing. the locker rooms were clean at 4 p.m. when there is a larger crowd due to rush hour.

this gym is an excellent value bar none, period, for this location and hours. it isn't perfect and you have to be reasonable and work with what you are paying for. what matters is the equipment. all of it worked when I was there and i was able to workout in peace. the showers also were clean. way cleaner than other PF branches I have seen in new york city and the boroughs.

This anqet fitness is interesting to go to as it's squeezed amongst several floors of a Manhattan building. The front desk is actually further in. The workers were very friendly. The bulbs in the tanning bed which is up on the black card spa that you have to be swiped into on the elevator were freshly replaced. They're very strong. The entire place looks pretty clean. It was pretty overcrowded with young folks though. Signed up for this gym about a month ago and got the Black Card for the accessibility off all the gyms. Which is pleasing!

The space itself is huge but 90% of it is taken up by cardio machines. For anyone that wants to lift weights (like myself) we’re shunned to the back corners. There’s a couple of free weight benches and two smith machines. The equipment looks like a leftover equipment from a previously owned gym with some of them are newer and some of them are on their last legs.

Their “30 minute” area is located right outside the locker rooms which is beautiful for those who want to get in and out. However, there’s not many machines to choose from or you’ll have to wait to get a specific workout in.

Men’s locker room is fine, I had no issues with it besides some of the loops to pull your lock through are bent. You can definitely see the effects of people trying to break into lockers. It’s also small and cramped during the busy times. More often than not you’re changing with someone within shoulder’s length. I haven’t showered there (for cleanliness reasons) and had to use the stall that needed toilet paper

My gym hours are usually from 3:00pm-6:00pm Sunday to Thursday and by then all the strength equipment (free weight and machines) are taken up and having to wait until something opens up

Staff is fine, there’s no greetings or farewells they just stand at the desk scan your code and go back to whatever they’re doing. However, they do go around cleaning machines and locker rooms pretty frequently

I didn’t go up to the Black Card area cause I’m there to get in and out.

All in all, this location for PF is good. They got me in a chokehold cause it’s near work and they’re not as expensive as the other gyms. If I had to change anything it would be to remove that entire row of cardio machines near the back wall and move the smith machines there. Then add more free weight benches and dumbbells where the smiths used to be.

there is no good machine equipment. To do a glute or chest exercise well, there are only two Smith presses for 10 people waiting.

Not saying I don't like the facilities. The gym itself is nice. The men's bathroom is in a constant state of disrepair. There's only 2 toilets and, more often than not, only one has toilet paper. Was just using one now and the flushometer got stuck causing the water to run constantly and a horrible noise. Don't try saying anything at all to the young ladies who work here in the morning. I just asked to use the tanning machine and the young lady who coordinated that couldn't have been more miserable. She seemed disgusted to have to do it. The machines and whatever are good. But everything else is trash. I also have a membership at blink Fitness here in the city and the difference between the facilities and staff at each one of their locations when compared with this dump is night and day. I felt so compelled to write this that I'm currently sitting in a massage chair after tanning. I had to articulate this before I left the building. Good equipment. Terrible facilities and terrible staff.

Had a bag stolen out of my locker at this location. Was just told I can’t keep my bag with me. I’ve been a member for years and have never seen this policy enforced.

UPDATE: Cancelled my membership after I brought in a smaller more personal bag (to comply with policy) that was kept off the floor and someone approached me. There were two other members (notably men) that had bags near them that were not approached.

Incredibly rude, incredibly disappointing given theft is common at this location.

Same as everyone else. After someone took something out of my locked locker a few months ago. I began carrying my bag with me from machine to machine. It’s a small backpack not a duffle or gym bag.

I was told I couldn’t do this after doing so for months with no issue. So you cannot guarantee the security of members’ items BUT AREN'T GOING TO LET THEM KEEP THOSE ITEMS IN SIGHT WHILE WORKING OUT.

I’ve never had this issue at any other Planet Fitness. If this is a policy it’s never been enforced
