I’ve been a member of this Planet Fitness location for quite some time, and unfortunately the overall experience continues to decline. There’s often a lack of available staff, many machines remain broken for extended periods, and the general upkeep of the facility is disappointing.

What was most frustrating, however, was being spoken to in a condescending manner by an employee named Cole. When I reached out to the manager, Christina, my concerns were largely brushed off and not taken seriously. That level of disregard for member experience says a lot about how poorly this location is being run.

The only reason I’ve continued my membership is due to convenience, but the consistent lack of professionalism and maintenance has made it increasingly difficult to justify staying. I hope upper management takes a closer look at how this club is being managed, because members deserve far better than this.

I got a black card & came here to see if I liked it since my home gym (Hicksville) is too crowded.

First time I got lucky & it was very pleasant here. Each visit since has been consistently the same. Staff either ignores your presence or is rude.

Machines are frequently broken. Half consumed energy drinks left on machines or used paper towels left on machines or the floor.

Machines are randomly sticky and you may or may not be lucky to get hand sanitizer since they are not consistently refilled.

This gym felt like a Trojan horse since it was immaculate the first time I visited, but the reality has shown through after a few visits.

I will be going to Syosset instead ✌️

You can't beat the price and this one is pretty empty they could use some free weights for doing deadlifts but at the price what do you expect do like the massage chairs also

I really liked this gym in the beginning. The constant news on every channel is awful and doesn’t feel good. I go to the gym to relax & let go- only to find every tv station is news. Whether you’re on the elliptical, treadmill or stairmaster, you can’t avoid it. I’ve spoken with staff & they say there’s nothing they can do, since tvs are controlled by the central office. I recommend skipping this location- there are plenty of other gyms that support their members goals. This one isn’t it for me.

This gym facility has been left completely unattended while open on many occasions. Machines frequently broken, also. I'm told they're currently between managers. Planet Fitness is just poorly managed.

I just started working out, but the staff are not helpful at all. I asked for help many times, but they said they were busy and were busy with the phone. Those who are new to the gym should definitely not go here. Other branches have been helpful, but this one is terrible. (I want to take a shower because I sweat a lot, but there is never hot water.)

The gym is dusty everywhere and the same urine stains on the toilet for three days in a row, clearly they don’t clean the place. The staff (mainly the guys) are rude and unprofessional when they are not hiding in a locked closet or sleeping in one of massages beds.

Severe overcrowding at this location, absolutely filthy and not safe!! Locker room entrance is very dangerous. Make sure you stop and look around the corner when entering or you will bump into someone who is walking out. There are always people bumping into each other because of this bizarre layout. Staff needs to enforce the cellphone rule better. Too many kids making videos. Parking lot always smells like weed, but that is probably the Amazon employees next door.

Constantly being harassed every time I enter/leave your facility. Always being asked to spend $120 for school Supplies. Enough already, will be canceling membership shorlty - why don’t you set up soup kitchen and pan handlers station. Oh here’s a great idea, ask your members if they would like donate their car

Typical Gym billing nonsense. Can cancel at any time? Not really.. tried to do it online, then tried via email, then went into the store. They couldn't get the cancellation to go through - so they took my name and number and said a manager would take care of it and call me back. No phone call and just got charged again for this month.
*called AGAIN and again told me a manager should call me back. Still no call. 👎🏻
** one month later still no call. Guess there is no management at this location.

I come in the morning, around 7am. This is what the locker rooms have been looking like lately. People coming in to get spray and paper towels because there are none on the floor. I have been a member for a few months. More often than not the showers are like warm at best, but occasionally I do get a hot shower. Over the past 2 weeks the showers have been ice cold. There is no one even in the locker rooms at that time so it shouldn’t be that they are running out of hot water.
I have called a few times and left messages for the manager, before posting this review, but have not heard back.

The gym was nice a few months ago after it opened, but now the locker rooms are always dirty. This gym is not kept clean. I always mention something to whoever is at the front desk but their answer is always that they’re there by themselves and can’t leave. Try a different location.

There’s been no working TVs or water fountains in Plainview for the past four days. No water fountains at a gym, outrageous. It’s a hospitality business, how about a little hospitality? And don’t tell me in your rebuttal to contact management to voice my concern, b/c I just did. Just fix it.

I came here after midnight on 7/29/25, and there was nobody behind the front desk. Somebody should have been there in case anybody had an emergency (see photo below).

I will revisit in the next few weeks to see if management has addressed my concern.

Great staff at this location.

But there are 2 serious problems.

The temperature is way too warm year round. The functional training room in back is 75 summer & winter, the massage lounge in winter is 80. I am told they called for HVAC service but nothing has been done for months. If you like super warm, this is the place for you, but this is not comfortable to me.

Second, despite being a new location, the equipment is fragile and constantly breaking. They are understaffed with technicians who can repair but the bigger problem is they bought unreliable equipment such that they need constant repair only months after opening the location.

If you like very hot gyms, are flexible to work around broken equipment, and live close by, this is a good gym. If you live near other gyms, I would seriously consider those options and see if they are any better (ask members and observe closely).

Update 7/12/25. Almost a year since opened and problems remain unresolved. It was 80 degrees in the gym today and nobody is willing to fix this after repeated reports. Still unrepaired equipment problems but the temperature is the main reason i lowered my rating. How can people exercise in such heat ?

Really like this gym; clean and the staff is friendly, responsible and hardworking.

Unfortunately, for a facility that is less than one year old, way too many machines are "out of order". Furthermore, its usually machines that have been previously out of service. From day one, many pieces of equipment were assembled poorly, causing continued issues. We are told there is only one maintenance tech for the region; not a wise business plan, if true.
Also, staff needs to make sure the hoards of youth members do not " hang out" and use the equipment for resting, preventing members who politely try to work in, from doing so. There is a lounge to socialize and congregate, I've witnessed too many needless alterations over someone not allowing others to work in, or at all.

I just started my gym journey with planet fitness and at first I was excited but then I began to notice a few things that are making me uncomfortable, the bathrooms are not cleaned, the spa club don’t have the utilities cleaned, one of the massage chairs it’s out of order since I started and has been a month, few other equipments are out of order as well and the spray bottles are empty for most of the times. The same trash has been on the female bathroom floor for over 2 weeks.

My husband and I joined the gym when it first opened, it was clean and there was a staff that would maintain it as such. Recently it’s been awful. The floors are dusty in all corners of the gym, and barbell racks need a good vacuuming as well. The bathrooms are messy, trash bins full and cleaning spray bottles empty. Get it together!

When Adam and Lorenzo were working the night shift until 6 am, the gym was much friendlier and cleaner. They would organize and take care of the entire gym, always had a smile on and were willing to help. It hasn't been the same since they haven't been on for that shift.

I came to sign up today, everything was fine, the gym is clean, nice people. I started the signup process and had to walk out because I am not sharing my checking account with no one. Credit card no problem but not checking account. That was a no no for me.

Loving this place so far. It's so brand spanking new and smells like it. almost like being inside a new car. It's really weird to handle such new equipment because it's such an unfamiliar feeling. lol. especially the plates. they feel so velvety and they slide so nicely on to the machines.

Time will tell if it remains the same but, so far, it's very clean and organized. It could be because I show up really early, around 4am, but everything is in its place. Even the benches under the Smith machines are lined up perfectly. It's like the guys who work there have OCD or something. They're always working instead of just sitting staring at their phones like they do in other PF gyms.

My favorite thing is that it's quiet. Every other PF that I've been to has the music blaring so loudly that I can't listen to my own music unless I crank up the volume to the point of ear damage.

My least favorite thing is the shower. They're immovable nozzles that are set up too high so that you have to press your back against the stall wall for the water not to hit your face. Even with your back pressed up against the wall, the water hits you high up on your chest and neck. It's massively inconvenient because the water saving feature means you don't have enough water to spill down to your forest and crack and so you gotta rub, rub, rub, rub, rub with whatever water trickles down there to get the soap out. It takes forever.

Besides that complaint, I really like the place a lot. Clean, quiet, organized and very friendly staff.

I like to come here to hit the weights and boost my ego as I lift 45’s on the smith machine while staring down anyone that faintly mentions the words “free weights.” 10/10, would hit it again if she lets me!

Spotless, no waiting for machines or free weights, friendly staff and cleaning stations all conveniently located. Unfortunately it's another franchise that got the ratio of stalls to urinals incorrect: 2 stalls & 2 urinals. But they definitely get credit for installing the longer faucet stems so you can actually wash your hands without making a God awful mess. Very nice gym!
