This gym is fantastic. Always clean. They play great music. Free parking. Friendly staff member's. I came in last week to open a membership, I opened the blackcard membership. I was greeted by the manager lizette at the front desk who explained everything to me in detail. She was so kind! I have trouble reading and she was so patient with me. People are so mean these days and from reading these comments people should not bully others. I would recommend this gym to anyone. Thank you to the young lady for giving me a Tour around the gym. I will be recommending my friends to sign up. Thank you Planet Fitness for providing us with a gym that we can enjoy.

I went to take a peek at this gym while Blink is getting its makeover, just in case I gotta switch after the makeover.

1. Cleanliness: Looks very clean and people appear to be cleaning non-stop.
2. Sitters: Looks JUST LIKE BLINK in terms of these 20-somethings and teens getting on machines, sitting there hogging up the machine, texting, scrolling, spaced out with headphones-- and not working out. I saw another guy go up to one of the sitters and ask when he'd be done and the guy got not an "oh, sorry," but an entitled "when I'm done" for his trouble. Gyms need to figure this out. I'm thinking for me it might just mean paying a lot more (so that age group can't afford to go) -- maybe NYSC (although I fear they're full of sitters too).
3. Space: One big room, one section towards the front.
4. Parking: Looks plentiful.
5. Staff: Not 100% sure on staff attitude towards gym goers who are over 25.
6, Plus-side: Can get a membership that enables you to use the gym when you travel.

Lissette Rodriguez aka “Club Manager” was having a bad day we guess very rude person the situation was because despite the fact I paid my monthly black card membership on site through the app (yes- I forgot to pay it because I was busy working) show her the payment in bank and in app, she still did not let us in claiming payment says processing. She gave me a business card to call to complain about the service and phone ring next to her which is a completely mock! She even laughed at me.
My job allows me to be in all clubs nation wide and I have never seen someone so rude and in title like she owns the place! Do not bother coming here

They’re always charging late fees even when I’ve verified on multiple occasions the correct banking info as well as have a backup option on file and every month is another late fee charge. I came to this location where I was met with Lisette who wanted to deny me entry for asking her a few questions about her wanting to take my photo. I’ve been here a couple times and they’ve never asked that , I understand it’s a requirement to I proceeded to ask her simple questions about the process. She got annoyed and told me I can just leave. I made a comment and she told me to 0go shower” and when I told her I’d report her She said nothing can be done and she owns planet fitness and she can’t leave. I told her she doesn’t own planet fitness and that she works here. She also tried to make me feel like less because I was the guest to my girlfriend’s black card that I PAY FOR. She told me she has no higher up and here’s no one I can speak to her but her.

One of the best Planet Fitness locations I’ve been to for sure. New and updated equipment (Deadlift platforms, belt squat machine, etc) and friendly staff that keep the location clean on a consistent basis.

The only cons I can say are just an unfortunate reality of public gyms. During peak hours, it is VERY crowded, people taking long on exercise machinery, etc. You’re gonna have to employ some communication skills to use what you want to use lol. There’s also this weird trend where people don’t use locks in the locker room, so I often find myself opening multiple lockers in a row, only to find someone’s purse or keys hanging inside. Not a real issue, a little annoying at most. And really I just don’t understand how they’re so comfortable doing that lol.

The location itself is relatively compact in size, but has just about every important machine you could ask for (with some fun additions like the Assisted Nordic Hamstring Curl). Figure out a schedule you can work with and you can have a fulfilling workout!

Came in on a day pass to scope out a potential new home gym, got kicked out for wearing sandals which is understandable but I wish that was mentioned somewhere that I wouldn't be allowed to sit down or tour the gym.

Staff were weirdly afraid of the manager or maybe it was just an excuse but said that if she saw my sandals it would be a huge issue. Again understandable, they're just front desk workers just weird vibes though.
I clearly wasn't there to workout and mentioned I just wanted to look around but was told I wasn't allowed to be there

*I just think if you're trying to sell memberships and curate a vibe there's something wrong with their training/procedures. I don't see the reason why the staff aren't trained to provide a guided tour but first response is to ask me to leave because they're afraid of the manager seeing. I would assume membership sales and providing a good experience for a first time visitor would take precedence over a strict dress code*

The gym was very crowded, most equipment cardio, free weights and racks were being used and one of the staff told me this was one of the less crowded times. Granted they currently had a promotion for Highschool kids to come in for free and it might get better when it's over they said

I've been going to this gym since January 2025 and have really liked it so far, but some things are lacking.

Pros: It's a good gym, with good equipment that gets fixed pretty quickly, except for the rowing machines. The gym has a lot of space, there's free parking and the water refill stations always work. Staff is almost always cleaning, towels are usually refilled quickly, and they seem to keep busy.

Cons: Gets really busy at times, and in the free weight rooms, it gets really hot with no AC, but they have some fans for air movement. Not much gym etiquette with reracking weights, but people clean after themselves, at least. My biggest concern is having my lock broken and money taken out of my wallet while I was working out today. Nothing else was taken, luckily, and a few other people have experienced the same thing, apparently.

Overall, it's clean, equipment is good, staff is friendly and active, and things get fixed pretty quickly. It does get really busy, really hot in certain parts, and I wouldn't recommend coming without a good lock.

I would say this is one of the better PF locations and my favorite due to all the equipment but this is mainly a male dominated gym so beware if that makes u uncomfortable because there is a particular planet fitness member that u should be AWARE OF I’ve noticed that there is a middle aged Asian decent male usually wearing a bright blue shirt, cargo shorts, glasses and has curly long thin grey hair this man will not do any workout at all but instead stand and stare at women for hours! If ur ever here you’ll know exactly who im talking about now there’s no problem with not knowing how to workout everyone starts somewhere but this man makes me uncomfortable yet somehow no one has noticed this so I’d say please keep ur guard up for this creep. Other then that I would say great atmosphere mostly packed & busy for the free summer pass so if u wanna join id say come early beat the crowd or wait until the summer pass is over, staff is always cleaning which is great also they are all very friendly and constantly helping members. Locker rooms can get busy but not as busy contrary to the men’s side overall I would give this place 5 stars but its not all the way there as there is a surge of teens that do hog up equipment when it’s busy as well as the creeps lurking in here.. ALSO no ac? Instead they are using mini fans which basically do nothing lol aaand the occasional leak

Not enough equipment and it’s always packed from 6am to 10pm. 🕙 There are only a few benches for pressing, and just one cable machine in the entire gym which is always hogged by groups of kids hanging around for hours. I joined this gym because it’s close to my house, but it’s definitely not ideal for serious weightlifting. 🏋️‍♂️ Maybe okay for cardio or basic strength training if you can figure out the less busy hours I couldn’t. I’ll be switching to BQE Fitness soon.

The one and only time I ever come to this gym. I honestly came here thinking it would be a better experience compared to my regular gym given the fact that this facility is bigger but never again will I complain of my small gym. This place smells so musty, it hits you as soon as you come in. The AC in this place is non existent. Not only that but the members as so greedy with the equipment, they hog the machines for long periods of time. I get that you need a rest between sets but if you are going to be on your phone for and extended period of time instead of working out, let someone else make use of the equipment, its the reason we all pay a membership for. Been a member since January. At first it was great, the staff are nice and the equipment is good quality. However, recently it's become extremely crowded in the daytime, (almost not worth going after 7 a.m.).

On my last visit, someone had broken my padlock and gone through my locker. Fortunately nothing was taken, but it's a far cry from the gym it was only 6 months ago. If you're thinking of joining, be ready to join the 5 a.m. club and definitely don't take anything valuable with you.

They have fragrance spraying machines every few feet. The whole place smells so strongly of cheap artificial fragrance that it gave me a migraine. Avoid if you have fragrance sensitivities. I am extremely upset with the awful service I received from the staff and manager at the Planet Fitness location in Woodside. This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had with any gym.
My daughter was completely misled at the Long Island City location. When she attempted to use the gym, she was told she couldn’t because her payment hadn’t gone through—something she was unaware of. No one ever informed her about an additional membership fee on top of the monthly fee. This fee was never clearly advertised, and it was not mentioned when she first signed up.
When she refused to pay the unexpected charge and asked to cancel her membership, she was told she’d be charged regardless—and that she should just pay it or she would face "problems." That’s completely unacceptable.
I called to try to resolve the issue and was told to come in and speak with the manager. I explained everything over the phone and left work early the next day to meet in person. When I arrived, I was told the manager had “just left.” I found that incredibly disrespectful and clearly intentional.
When I called again the following day, the manager, Lisset Rodriguez, was not only dismissive but raised her voice and told me I shouldn’t even be calling—that I should go back to the original location. Her behavior was rude, unprofessional, and far from what I expect from someone in a customer service role.
Aside from one polite young man who tried to help me over the phone, the rest of the staff has been equally unhelpful and dismissive. When I asked for the customer service phone number to file a formal complaint, I was told to “just send an email and see if they respond.”
Lisset Rodriguez should not be in a position that involves dealing with customers. She clearly lacks the communication skills and professionalism needed for such a role. It’s unacceptable for any manager—especially one working in a customer-facing business—to treat people this way.
Customers should be a priority. Right now, it’s clear that they are not at this location

The biggest issue with this gym is how overcrowded it is. At almost any time of day. There are a lot of selfish and inconsiderate people that hog equipment for a long time without letting others work in. While the equipment itself is in good condition and the gym has a decent variety, the constant crowd makes it hard to take advantage of it. Also, the gym often gets cleaned while people are working out, which can be distracting and disruptive. Overall, the overcrowding really takes away from the experience.

I joined this place because it’s near my house and it has a roof top parking . I used to train there when it was Big 6 Fitness but they closed down during covid. I patiently waited for this place to open once I joined I saw it was cramped tiny the locker room was smaller than my bedroom and there were no lockers available. I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this Planet Fitness location due to the behavior of an employee named Yousef. His conduct was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. He made a disrespectful comment that made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and when I brought it up, he brushed it off with a smirk like it was a joke. This is not the kind of environment people come to work out in — it felt hostile and unsafe. Membership started 1/12/25, I canceled 1/14/25.
Cancellation processed 2/15/25 after management stated it’s immediately canceled and processed. Now they’re trying to bill me.

Pay attention to their terrible practices and ethics. Don’t be fooled.

Added 1/23/25:

I cancelled my membership 2 days after on 1/14/25. I created my account. So I fall under the 72 Hour Contract Law warranting me a full refund and subject to no further billing.
On 1/23/25 I was billed for a maintenance fee, normally billed on your second month of service.
Now I feel like I’m being penalized for cancelling my membership. Let’s see how long it’ll take for them to return my wrongfully charged monies.

Leadership here should be reconsidered. Staffing the club with managers that are customer service centric, responsible, experienced, compassionate, great communication skills.

It’s planet fitness at the end of the day, so the type of machines and equipment is limited.

My rating is solely based on the lack of service + rudeness and lack of professionalism From the managerial staff.

One manager was unable to provide an answer so got the main manager to provide clarity. The second manager was worse than the first one.
I believe they forgot that they are in the service industry, meaning you should hear the concerns of your patrons.

I personally didn’t feel welcome, heard and none of my concerns were addressed.

I immediately cancelled my membership. There are other gyms that you can receive better service in.

New equipment which is always great however it’s overshadowed by lack of employee presence, locker rooms are horrendously filthy, trash and napkins everywhere, weights are never placed back on racks, overcrowded despite being a larger location.

Vending machine is a scam waiting to happen. It takes 4-5 to process a payment. You have to stand by the machine to make sure your purchase is actually closed out. If not, the next person could make a selection and pay using your card. Vending machine is fairly empty so limited selection of beverages. Faucets are sinks are compatible so there’s always a puddle of water when you wash your hands. When you tell the front desk about it, they’ll say okay but no one cleans up.

This used to be an awesome gym when I first started in February. And now it’s severely declined. It’s always a hassle to find a locker to use. You always get tricked into thinking there’s a locker to use since there’s no lock but no. You’ll always find people’s stuff in it. You have to wait until someone finishes their workout so you can use their locker. Most of the people don’t clean after themselves. I always clean up after myself. Why is it so hard for people to learn about cleanliness. Better to not spread germs not help it grow.

Visiting from out of town so I’ve used it for a few days. As PFs go, it’s got good equipment. Never seems to be enough sanitizer at the limited number of cleaning stations. Not a ton of people wiping after their use. Entirely too crowded. Looks like a lot of high school kids hogging equipment and the playing on their phone. Not enough locker space. I feel like they are doing too much with a small space.

Free parking, i don’t know if maybe it’s the time I’ve gone but this the only planet fitness that I’ve been too that is dirty at night. The women’s bathroom was disgusting. The paper towels are empty and for some reason there’s always a puddle by the Smith machine and where people usually warm up. The machines they have are good but everything just feels dirty

Bigger and less crowded than the Forest Hills location. I feel more comfortable here. They have fewer of some of the isolation machines but more smith machines, and they also have several power racks. They even have a machine specific to hip raises in case a smith machine isn’t available. Wish they gave more than 5 minutes on the massage chairs, especially during less busy times. Sometimes the music is so loud that I can’t listen to my own music. Overall, though, I recommend this location.

the gym is good overall i like it very much.
however, there's not good ventilation or airflow, it's extremely hot and humid, and sometimes i feel like choking because there's not much ventilation. something other planet fitness gyms have is hand sanitizer available over the paper towels dispensary and this one doesn't have any hand sanitizer at all. besides that, the place is pretty cool

This planet fitness location is the best location I have ever experienced! The staff are very helpful and care about you! Shoutout to all staff but specifically Sebastian and Sabina for being super kind on helping with everything I needed. As well as Leona is an amazing trainer and helped show me everything I needed to know. I definitely recommend this location to anyone who wants to start their fitness journey.

I would like to give this gym 5 stars because in many ways it is exceptional. Staff is very friendly, professional and responsive to needs. Equipment is the newest and nothing is broken. Let’s hope this continues because the location is only open for a few months.

I cannot give more than two stars because of the toxic chemicals used here - posing a VERY serious health risk to the members. This is not exaggeration or hyperbole.

The owner of this franchise has actually placed automatic bathroom chemical deodorant vaporizers on the walls and support pillars throughout the gym. Yes, those same auto sprayers we have seen in bathrooms of restaurants and bars. One cannot take a breath without a toxic chemical going into your lungs. And on my second visit there I had an asthma attack. If I did not have a rescue inhaler with me at the time, it undoubtedly would have been a call to 911.

I brought this to the attention of the front desk, left my name and was told the manager would be in touch. I was never contacted. On my next visit, I again requested to speak with the manager, she was unavailable. I requested a call back, and again did not hear from her. I don’t know how much longer I can be a member at this location. But while I’m waiting to hear back, I’m double masking. NO way to enjoy a gym experience.

I’ve been member of several gyms over many years and I have never seen anything like this anywhere. Chemicals in the air are harmful to everyone, but for those with breathing issues like asthma, it could land someone in the Emergency Room.

Update, Feb. 24, 2025:

I finally was able to reach the manager, Lisette. I told her of my concerns and directed her to this review. Her response: All Planet Fitness locations use these (toxic) chemicals and it is standard. Clearly implying that nothing will be changed and too bad about your health. So much for your “stellar experience”. I will be changing my rating to one star and cancelling my membership unless I hear back from the owner regarding this.

A serious health emergency with the resulting risk of litigation is something that no establishment wants.

The location is nice , mechines are very good , but today,The President day, February 17 monday, When I was using the Iso-Lateral High Row at around 6:58 PM to 7:05 PM, a stranger sitting at the Iso-Lateral Super Incline Press pointed his iPhone at me twice. I suspect that he took photos of me without my consent. Feeling uncomfortable and got a little bit anxiety, I decided to leave soon tonight, no complete my training, but If he did take a photo, I wouldn't mind as long as it wasn't intended to cause me troubles, and i hope he did it with the best intentions. I hope he had a valid reason for photographing in my direction. If he is my fans I don't mind it.

This new planet fitness is actually very good if not better than the previous old big six fitness gym. I was very impressed because The machinery is very good has tons of free weights, kettle weights and even pull up bars along with trx resistance bars. So if your into calisthenics like me this gym wont disappoint and the fact that it has a lot of good quality squat racks and also like 2 or 3 individual deadlift stations with the wood platform. This location is pretty much an upscale planet fitness which is rare to see nowadays its even better machinery wise than a retro fitness and even sports club. For the price in my humble opinion i believe is a must to join type of gym because if it had another name brand it i would expect it to be over 80 a month or even 100. But for 15 bucks is a steal! Also the parking is on the roof which is awesome!

Very nice because it is new. The new machines are great. BUT THEY MADE A MISTAKE THAT COST SUBSCRIBERS. THEY SACRIFICES SPACE IN THE LOCKER AREA AND LEFT THIS AREA SUPER SMALL, YOU CAN BARELY WALK IN THE MEN'S LOCKERS 👎👎👎 A lot of reception area and minimal, but very minimal, the men's bathroom and locker 👎👎👎

Clean, spacious, and a good variety of equipment (squat racks, deadlift platforms, calisthenics stations, cardio, etc.). Pretty much what you wouldn’t typically expect from a Planet Fitness but apparently they are in the midst of a revamp of sorts, and it’s definitely working.

The place is nice, the machines are new and working well. Spacious and clean. The only problem is the vending machine for drinks is so problematic. It overcharges you even if you have a black membership. The other day it charged me $27 for just two gatorades, so I had to dispute the overcharged amount on my end. They should definitely fix it.

Spacious. Solid and sufficient equipment (3 bench press stations at least). You can avoid crowds on weekday mornings and perhaps in general by using crowd-o-meter on the PF app. People understand gym courtesy unlike Blink where teenagers play on their phones endlessly while sitting on bench press and preventing others from using it. Cheap as hell on cost. A much needed and appreciated addition to the neighborhood especially after phyzique closed and with Blink’s crowds.

I really appreciate the convenience of the gym hours and parking is truly a big plus. The staff are very friendly and it has always been clean when I come to workout. I have used a few weight machines but like the bikes and ellipticals. Hopefully will learn to using the spa, one of the perks of black card members to relax after a good workout. It’s a nice gym except was really packed even though it was only not even a month into grand opening. Staff were up to par as expected other than the manager who is rude when speaking to customers. Machines were new and better except there were some errors such as dirty treadmills and annoying to set up compared to other planet fitness facilities. The whole gym would be shaking sometimes which gave me uneasy feelings as well.

Hopped around in gyms up and down. Queens Blvd , many of them sucked (yellow New York Sports Club) until this brand spanking new Planet Fitness sprouted up near 61st street. Spacious, with equipment not available anywhere else, this judgement free zone is the best thin that’s ever happened to fitness goals . This a convenient gym near my house. They really out did their floor plan with this gym. I love the different workout machines, and free weights area! Hours of operation an amazing too. The cleaning team are doing a great job cleaning the workout areas too!

A clean, spacious place with modern exercise machines, although I really missed the abdominal crunch machine I used to use at the Planet fitness gym in Astoria, specifically the "Abdominal Crunch".
The men's locker room seems small for the size of the place, especially that there is only one small bench that doesn't seem to match the amount of personal lockers so it's quite possible to change shorts and sneakers standing on the floor, a bit awkward. I also noticed that some knobs to secure the weights for the barbell weight lifting exercises are missing, which is a bit unsafe, otherwise all excellent, the staff is very friendly as are the users.
