Cancelled my member months ago as I don’t use it anymore. Was told to send email with all info. Have sent it and kept getting charged and now got charged again $45 annual fee. Was told to call back, never get called back. Enjoyed the facility, however very disappointed with the staff. Need to

When I go back to college after going to Rome pfit they give me a hard time when transferring. Whereas elsewhere staff are much better about it. Rude over the phone and bad customer service. Last summer they tried to charge me 100 dollars to switch over. And yet, I keep coming back because it’s the only one in Rome! Do yourself a favor and drive to New Hartford.

UPDATE: I went to the location and spoke with the actual manager who was very friendly and professional. She resolved my issue quickly and provided excellent customer service.

The assistant manager at this location is using deceitful practices and upgrading memberships without permission, with no contract, and without authorization to charge an increased amount to the associated bank account, which is a violation of law.

Visiting the Rome location was a great experience. Pretty clean and in order. New management was amazing and attentive to issues brought to her. The men's locker room was much cleaner than my New Hartford location and that is a big plus. Equipment is dated but in good working order. All cleaning stations were full and ready for use. Definitely will visit more frequently to enjoy this up and coming club.

This PF keeps their temperature at 78 degrees for some reason. When I asked staff, they said it's their manager keeping the temp this high. It's absurdly warm in this Planet Fitness, don't come in here unless you want to work out in a sauna

Planet Fitness has great massage chairs and Hydromassage units. Always clean and friendly staff. Black card is worth the cost. I used to use the massage chairs in the mall for $5.00 each session now I get it everyday for $23.99. Plus the use of the gym, tanning beds and vibrating plates.

I do not usually write reviews at all, as I am always happy with the places I visit, but planet fitness disappointed me. All was fine until I decided I wanted to cancel my membership. Staff were rude and one even cussed loudly when I said I wanted to end my membership. Staff wouldn’t even look at me and were short with me and rude. Frankly, I should be able to cancel my membership when I would like to without so much negativity from the staff.

The gym is clean staff are pleasant! I'm not happy with the tanning beds since the bulbs are so old that I never warm up while tanning. I constantly ask the staff if the bulbs have been changed and if there's any plans for new bulbs, but they know nothing.

We canceled our memberships in December of 2022 and they keep charging my account and when you call them they give so many excuses.

Today 10-13-2023 once again tired to take it 80 or if my account. I shouldn't have to dispute charges every month because you can't do you job properly and keep charging us.

Guess time to contact a lawyer again to file a civil suit against you. This is getting old having to contact you every month.

I've been frequenting the Planet Fitness in Rome for a while now, and overall, it's been a positive experience. The gym boasts a decent size, especially considering the limited options available in Rome. However, one drawback I've noticed is that it can get quite busy and crowded during peak hours, making it a bit challenging to access equipment at times.

One aspect that left me somewhat disappointed is the gym's opening hours. Currently, Planet Fitness opens its doors at 5:00 am. While this might be suitable for many, I believe it would be beneficial for them to reconsider their opening time. Opening at 3:00 or 4:00 am could cater to those of us who prefer to start their workouts early, and it might also alleviate the congestion during the peak morning rush.

Haven't been back here in a few years and this is my first visit post Covid. I see big improvements!

Machines are newer and did not find a faulty one with many also having a standard USB-A port if you need to charge your devices.
Towels dispensers are much nicer. Check the crowd meter before you leave but it was quiet at 1pm on a Saturday. Happy to be back!

Just started my membership a week ago for Black Card. It's an okay gym yo get by on the basics. They could definitely do better about cleaning the place. The toilets and showers are always dirty. The men's locker room has a constant smell of sweat. There have been 2 days where I couldn't find paper towels anywhere in the area I was lifting. I had to walk to the opposite end of the building and back to properly clean the machine. If I find a better local gym, I'll most likely switch.

Extremely controversial corporation.The corporation as a whole is a total shi* show from Oneida to new Hartford but my main gym I used was in Rome and was a premier member with them for a year and half but decided to cancel my membership months ago due to an injury yet they continued to bill for 6 months. Absolutely horrible business to trust- Bella the manager is a complete nut who will attempt to screw your over when you cancel your membership collect charges from months ago that you canceled and then will make stories up making drama.

Tell you to call corporate and then refuses to work with corporates requests to drop the bill

GO TO THE NEW GYM OPENED UP BETTER CORPORATION RIGHT NEAR ROME PLANET FITNESS AND AVOID BEING DISRESPECTED AND HARASAED WITH FALSE BILLS ETC TRUST ME THIS PLACE AND CORP IS GOING DOWN!

The equipment seems to be in good shape, but the staff was a huge disappointment.

I called to inquire about a member, and was told that were running a special, $128 for the year, just need to sign up in person.
I go to sign up and the person at the counter said no, that's not a special they off. I asked to sign up anyway and was told they couldn't help me, only online.

So I end up signing up and go to try it.
I asked for an orientation, the half dozen people at the desk tell someone with no clue how to do an orientation to give me a tour.
She didn't know the equipment name, I couldn't hear half of what she was saying, and when I asked to see the locker room she pointed to it, didn't give any tour.

When I asked for a key card they said they only use the app, no key card.

I have no idea how to use the equipment properly, how to adjust the equipment, had to figure out the locker room layout and how to use the most basic cardio equipment myself.

I thoroughly regret joining this gym.

Staff is great and it's awesome that this location has free weights. However, this location is supposed to have battle ropes and it does not. This is no fault of the staff but instead the corporate heads and their unfortunate decisions. I do hope the ropes come and I'd change my star rating if that happened but otherwise in terms of equipment it's a little dated and lacking. Staff again is great though and very helpful.

You need to become a black card member and try the HydroMassage. You're on your back and there's a pad separating you between hot water. It's just like a massage that goes from your knees up to your head. It's one of the best 10 minutes you'll experience. Try it you'll like it. Maybe I shouldn't talk about it because that will have to wait for one to be free!!!
