LOVE THIS PLACE! New equipment is much easier to work out on. Staff is fabulous. Very friendly and helpful. Never a problem to teach you on a new machine and I'm always seeing smiles on the way in. Special shout out to Billy, the manager who's very helpful with Amy situation I've had. Also the overnight crew is terrific! Everyone there has made working out a more pleasant experience.

As a Black Card member, I’ve visited several Planet Fitness locations, but my favorite by far is the one in Shirley, New York. Even though there’s a Planet Fitness closer to me, I choose to drive a little farther to come to this location because the positive energy, cleanliness, and customer service make all the difference. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a friendly staff member — not someone distracted by their phone. The entire team is welcoming, professional, and always ready to help.

The equipment is consistently in perfect working order, and the facility is spotless, which says a lot about how well the staff maintains it. You can tell they take pride in keeping the gym clean, organized, and comfortable for everyone.

I highly recommend the Shirley Planet Fitness to anyone looking for a great place to work out!

Why are you the only PF that I ALWAYS have this problem with? Every other local PF, I can fill up a water bottle and not notice a horrible taste. Yours, not the case. It's to the point where I will just skip water when working out here bc I know 9/10x, it's going to be gross.

The guy who left a comment complaining about Nick made me laugh. Sometimes you just know the issue is the customer. Nick is the friendliest person I see all day. Alyssa's great too and I go to Brandon for workout tips. If the staff wasn't friendly, I wouldn't go there. All great people working there.

Left the same review a week ago, they replied telling me to talk to a manager. Went here 3x this week and every time had the same issue. The water filter is rarely changed, almost every time I fill up and take a sip, I dump it right out. And I'm not some water snob, it takes a lot for me to even notice.
Also, most of the sanitizer stations (besides the one by the door) don't work. Been like this since I began coming to this location. So to the social media rep that's going to reply, telling me to tell a manager. No, I shouldn't have to. You're a nationwide gym, having drinkable water and sanitizer should be a priority. Not something a member needs to tell the manager to fix.

Love the gym it's a few mins from my house. I go early in the morning. The front desk is always welcome to everyone. Super clean. And very help full... I also enjoy tanning ever few days for a few mins. Tho I wish there was a mirror in the tanning room ;)

So everyone knows the front desk is the first point of contact at any business and I just want to say how amazing the staff is every time I come I am always welcomed with a smile or a greeting. There’s never a time where Oscar, nick, Brandon and Alissa aren’t helping. The gym is always clean and it’s a place you can go without the feeling of judgement . I highly recommend this gym to everyone. 🥰

The male employee who cleans the women’s locker room early morning/overnight thinks it’s ok to walk into the female locker room without announcing himself. He saw my girl walk into the locker room, waited a few minutes then walked in on her un-announced. He looked at her then walked out. When I called to complain the person I spoke to on the phone said to me “well there’s a sign”.

A sign DOES NOT give a male planet fitness employee a free pass to walk into the female locker room whenever he wants. This is unacceptable. Announcing yourself is a professional courtesy. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If this happens again we will be reaching out to corporate. They take these matters very seriously.

A great gym. The staff does a remarkable job of keeping the gym neat clean and organized. Brandon, Alyssa, Oscar, Will, and Nick make everyone feel so welcomed. They know you by name which helps create a great atmosphere! If you have questions on workouts both Brandon and Oscar are extremely knowledgeable and will guide you through doing the exercises correctly.
Planet Fitness Shirley is one of the best gyms around.

I wanted to cancel this membership. They make you come there in person. So I went and canceled on 2/16/25. A young man with black hair helped me. He said I may get billed any way even though I canceled. But to come see a manager if I did and they would reverse it. I asked to speak to a manager and none was available. They did charge me anyway. I called there and asked to speak to a manager. None was available. So the employee told me me that they can't reverse the charge. I told her the young guy with black hair said: if you get charged anyway come back and a manager will reverse it. She said okay I'll take your info and a manager will call you back. That hasn't happened either. I'm a single parent and the membership was for my daughter who was going to go with a friend. But never went after 3 months. I also got hit with there random $50 fee. Just a heads up. If you plan on canceling just know they will charge you anyway. Now there going yo write some dumb comment back to me about how sorry they are. Just give me my money back. It's not about the $30. If i cancel Netflix or any other sub before the billing cycle I do not get charged. Apparently there is 2 managers during the day and children running the gym at night. None of the people I spoke to were polite or helpful. Exact opposite. Won't stop anyone from Going to the cheapest gym around though. And the $30 membership you can bring a friend. But the friend can only use the main area. Better off with the single.

If you have read any terrible reviews so far, please wipe them from your memory. A majority of these people are young teenagers who shouldn’t be there without an adult present. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the gym is well kept. The gym is a little smaller so it is best to go when it isn’t too crowded, that’s why the crowd meter exists.

Worst experience with employee Nick at front desk. Definitely not accommodating to your members so much so that I was forced to go to Medford instead.
Don't bother at this gym, Medford and Patchague are your best bet. They are professional accommodating,
and respectful to their members. Nick needs a lesson on how to treat members and gain more members, not lose them to other locations

This place is yhe worst place, the employees are so rude not rude but ur membership card has to have all abt u and if its your moms you can't use it and, The WORST employees are one big man with glasses and like light brown hair amd tall and a girl with blonde hair,small and they are white so I don't recommend to go to this planet fitness you better canceled your membership card or go to a different planet fitness trust, oh and the man told me,mysister, and my cousin to get out just because the membership its her moms information and idk I hate this place and they talked to us in such a rude way so idk go to the Patchogue planet fitness but not this one cause like I say they are VERY rude to a 13 years old child.

Vivía en Hampton bays ny me mudé a Shirley hace 3 años, estaba visitando el gym de Medford Patchogue, ahora que hay uno Acá cerca de mi casa me siento muy contento y hoy fue mi primer día de ir a conocer el lugar me pareció muy agradable el lugar limpio y digo de corazón que es un excelente lugar. Pero sentí que hay racismo por parte de un empleada por el hecho de sentarnos un grupo de amigos en una sala de estar y ella vino hacia nosotros y nos saco del lugar de tratando de empujarnos con las manos yo sentí que eso es racismo gracias por su atención.

Very Small gym . We barely Find machines to do our exercises. There is no Boxing Bag at all . Also My Cousin got a Black Card and the staff is so Strict they are saying the guest Person is not allowed to Use Bed massage wich thats the only good thing they got there . Also we were bringing 4 more new guests . Now not Anymore we will cancel our accounts from planet fitness .

I was so excited to see that this Planet Fitness opened! I went for the first time (9/26) and I have to say, I am loving this gym. It is clean, the lay out is fabulous and the staff!! They are wonderful. Very very helpful! The bathrooms and changing rooms are great. This is my new home planet fitness! Great job all!!

So happy to have another option besides the gym across the street 🙂 and other gym east on Montauk hwy. This gym is great. Awesome equipment and like another review said, having view outside while working out is great. Also nice having view of TVs in most of gym is nice. I'd say 4.8 out of 5. One easy tweak I'd make is maybe move barbell rack near smith machines to add a little more room in that area.

All new machines yet none of the fans work on any of the cardio equipment. They turn off after a couple minutes if they even turn on at all. So stuffy in there.
