My personal trainer meets me here. This is my first time ever committing to a gym and to my health. I love this place. My favorite is the hydro chair. Omg! Im in heaven everytime. I love the fact that their are positive affirmations around me, to keep me motivated. I love the purple color of the gym, it's very regal and uplifting. This location is the worst planet fitness I have ever visited! The a/c and ventilation are basically broken as it is a sauna in there! Place is dirty and bathrooms uncleaned! There is a disgusting looking leak from pipe in ceiling which has a bucket on floor to catch it (been there for over a year). Brought this up to management (still no change). If you travel at all out of the area to any other states you know how planet fitness experience should be! For some reason in central NY the pf locations are old and outdated! But atleast some of them are “do able” NOT this westvale location! This one is by far the worst one I have ever been to! Oh and you might as well bring your own towel to clean machines as most of the paper towel dispensers fo not work! Whoever owns this location should be stripped of their license to be a part of this franchise!

Menu bathroom changing and shower area are disgusting. Stall walls looks like they've been pissed on and never cleaned. Toilet bowls don't seem to ever get cleaned. There's always a strong smell of urine coming from that area. Most the shower head suck and the shower stalls don't look like they are ever cleaned either. Other than that the place is fine. Staffs friendly, but they need to get some janitorial staff bad. That would make this a 4 star place instead of a 2 star.

I enjoyed use of this gym for several months before moving away, and it was always a fine experience. However, when I moved elsewhere and needed to cancel my membership, I followed the instructions stated on my membership agreement exactly to cancel via email and they continued charging me for an additional two months. When I called the club to try to figure out how I could request a refund, the staff member who initially spoke to me was kind and had his manager Jesse Nestico call me back when he was free. When Jesse called me back, I explained the situation and asked about how to proceed with requesting a refund and was met with a patronizing and argumentative tone. I explained that I did not want to argue, I just wanted help in seeking a refund, and he continued to argue with me with a raised voice and expressed to me that he had not processed a refund in his two years of working there because those charges were made by his club "in good faith," even if it is true that I followed the cancellation instructions in my contract. In the end, he recommended that I contact, somehow, the State of New York to see where the issue happened.
I expected to advocate for myself for this refund, but I did not expect to be spoken down to and argued with. Jesse got emotional over a reasonable request for how I may seek a $50 refund, and was unable to remain professional with me in a conversation where I was just trying to figure out what my next steps were. Don't treat your members like that! It's supposed to be the judgement-free zone.
I'll be seeking to escalate this to the Franchise Team and based on how I've been treated so far and in one other case with PF in the past, I honestly don't expect a refund to come out of it, but maybe this review can be a jumping-off place for any others having issues cancelling or getting refunds from PF.

The gym space seemed old but had a lot of space, which is appreciated, so it doesn't feel cramped. The older male staff member that was working spent the entire time talking to members. This wouldn't bother me except the gym wasn't being maintained. 2 of the cleaning stations were out of paper towels, and the water bottle filling stain was out of a filter and wasn't working. The women's showers looked dingy and had a sign that members are expected to clean their own showers. The shower head pointed to the wall and you had to almost hug the wall to get water, and the water pressure was so strong it was practically a fire hose. We travel a lot and have been to a lot of Planet Fitnesses. This was by far one of the worst.

I really enjoyed going to the Planet Fitness in Camillus until about half a year ago me and my mom were given a hard time about downgrading my membership. The manager and employees all told us different answers to why I could not downgrade my membership. It wasn’t until my recent encounter with the manager at Camillus where he was completely disrespectful and rude to me. I was going to simply downgrade but after the unwelcoming conversation I had with him I decided to cancel completely. However, I want to acknowledge that one of the workers named Naomi was incredibly helpful, kind, and sufficient in helping me with the cancelling process in only a few minutes!! The company needs more employees like her and less employees like the manager. Very upsetting.

Be careful they dont charge you twice. I paid for a full year membership and they still deducted the 9.99$ out of my checking account. So I ended up paying twice. Then when I said I wanted a refund they simply said buyer beware. You should have been cognizant that you had two identical memberships. Therefore, no refund from us. Very bare bones facility - nothing fancy or luxurious, but if you want a very affordable place to get yourself on the right track for health, fitness, and strength training etc, you can't beat the price and hours of availability - 24/7 weekdays!!!! I think this probably started as a supermarket as the big open space is laid out with lots of treadmills and fitness equipment. I had no problem checking in with my black card membership, stowing my stuff in a locker and then spending some time stretching before doing thirty minutes on the circuit.

Shower area was not very well lit and there's no shelf in the shower. I don't like putting my stuff on the floor. An improvement that needs to be made. Four showers and I had plenty of hot water at least.

This is one of those reviews that I actually enjoy writing. My father has been coming to this gym for several years now. My father also suffers from Alzheimer's Disease so having a familiar, friendly, welcoming place to go everyday is imperative. This Planet Fitness is ABSOLUTELY that place.

Every time I walk in with my father, he is like a celebrity of sorts. I know it sounds exaggerated but it's somewhat true. They know him by name, welcome him, check him in, all without stopping him from just heading to the machine he knows he wants to use. While I do have a membership, they allow me to work in the lobby while my dad works out during the week. I'm not sure what the hiring packet looks like for PF but they know how to hire the right people.

Every person (even when they're brand new) has greeted us with a smile and a warm comfortable greeting. I have never once felt weird, different, unwelcome or anything in between when I walk into the gym. You can also see it with most of the members, they all walk in excited and happy. If you need help? No problem - they are always ready to help you learn a machine, get something you need or start one of the massage chairs.

The manager of this gym should also get 5 stars. He has created a wonderful environment for his members here at this gym. To be completely 100% honest, because of the hospitality and treatment, that's why I kept my Planet Fitness membership instead of moving to a closer gym. It's worth the drive every time.

I went to cancel my membership which should be noted that members cannot cancel online or call the corporate number to call. In addition, you can only cancel at the same PF that you originally signed up at. I wonder if this is done to make it so difficult to cancel, that people just say "to hell with it". I'd been wanting to cancel for a few years now but the women's locker room fiasco in Alaska pushed me to finally do it. I have gone to this Planet Fitness (Camillus) for a month now, and it's a good beginner's gym for sure (my opinion).

However, there were no detached/free-weight barbells, and while this may be standard for Planet Fitness, it's a disadvantage in my eyes. Perhaps they could have used some of the >=30% of the gym which the cardio machines occupy.

One last thing. If you are planning on purchasing a membership here, please be aware that they charge on the 17th of every month, so I had to pay for two months for essentially 1.5 months of usable workout time. I was very disappointed with that.

Cons: Had to change my review. They need to start using the Lunk alarm and require people to wear shoes. Many walk around in socks and/or slides. Dress code should be enforced (no jeans) Gangsta rap music with filthy lyrics is quite appalling. I signed up for a 24 hour gym and they've yet to return to that after Covid. Might as well pay an additional $10 and go to Aspen. Different atmosphere.

Now you pay more and they don't have 24 hours. When machines break, they stay broken for extended periods of time. There should also be a sign next to wvery machine that says wipe down. Every time I go, a handful people dont wipe down the equipment they were on. No one wants to sit in someone elses sweat. This gym is in dire need of a renovation! Half the equipment is not working properly. The torso rotation needs to be tightened. The treadmill I used was wobbly and off balanced. The lockers were so damn small I can hardly fit anything in them. They don't have proper changing rooms and the curtains are half broken. What is privacy? The shower is the size of an RV shower so good luck having room. Don't get me started on the really horrible sink sensors as well. This gym is just really run down and needs a massive renovation.

I will say the my normal experience is not great when there. The staff do really nothing but stand around and I had signed up for the trainer and he also just leaves you there. So I didn't bother with that again. The showers are less than desirable, they need to be cleaned and updated. My biggest issue is that I am moving and I went in to cancel my membership. They of course wont let you do it online or over the phone so you have to make a special trip there just for that. I make sure to do this in December so I would not be charge the annual fee. The receptionist who did the transaction specifically told me I would not be charged. Well they took the money from my account anyway. I called to speak to the manager and she was useless. She said I would have had to cancel the month before in order to not get charged. I told her I did cancel the month before, but apparently it isn't here billing cycle month. I told her what her staff member stated and that they need to honor that and she would not. It' is only $39 but it is the principal of it. She was rude and has no customer service skills. I was planning on seeing if a other location was close to my new home but I am not sure I would join again after this. I guess you get what you pay for and they are cheap.

Tofind out your closed , this is unexceptable for a facility that claims to be open 24 hrs a day , guests should NOT BE CHARGED for your absence, forthe future why
don't you look into card readers for your outside doors have 1 person on staff to monitor your cameras and facility pay them appropriately so they will stay at their job

Planet fitness is a amazing place in itself but this location is great the staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is calming which truly puts a emphasis on the no judgement zone aspect definitely a great place to work out and definitely a upgrade from the garage I was previously working out in I definitely recommend buying a membership and becoming a regular here you won't regret it!
