I haven't been going to this location in a while since I was robbed there. Someone broke into my locker, took my car keys, then went out to my car to steal my wallet. I was out $400 in cash and they bought $600 in gift cards with my credit cards. I also had the tags of my dog who passed away just before moving back to NY in there. They had me fill out a report and I talked to the police but nothing ever happened with it. Someone should have at least been there to stop them at the front desk when they didn't scan in.

Fast forward to last week. I went in to see a bunch of new equipment and a new layout. I was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately a few of the machines I used already had damage. For one, the cables on the lat pulldown machine are missing chunks of the rubber coating, so it is no longer smooth - not a big deal, but annoying.

The worst part was the atmosphere. There was one shirtless guy (I thought that was banned) doing crunches in the mirror. He brought in a blanket from home to try and section himself off and have his "own area"
Then I noticed on the other side was an older guy walking around with selfie sticks streaming their workout for content. I don't want to be that guy, but aren't there gyms for that? PF isn't supposed to be that kind of place.
I'll try to stick to going out to camilus or dewitt. It's way less cringy there.

There is no excuse not to work out and take care of yourself if you can. PF is affordable, clean and has everything you need to get going. Enjoying the Valley location. They just updated some of their cardio equipment which is even better. Get going, you wont regret it.💪

Great facility, very clean and the staff is very knowledgeable and professional the equipment is updated and plenty choices to choose from on what part of your body you like to work on, the membership is also very affordable, actually a good deal and the members are nice as well, everytime I walk through the doors I feel no pressure and when I walk out I feel good knowing that I got some exercising in to help myself and heart to be healthier at 62yrs young, try Planet Fitness for yourself and you will see why I feel good working out there.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I was referred by someone and we were supposed to get a month free, never got that because we were never told the referring person needs to give you a QR referral through the app. Went to the site and was also told I could cancel anytime but it’s a lie! This is basically a cult and you’re locked into a 12 month contract, which you are never told about up front. I was told there were classes but there are no classes with an instructor. You download the app and it’s self taught. Used the gym maybe twice and was contacted too many times by gym staff for a picture to be on file and miscellaneous stuff that it truly is not worth it. I know my daughter left the same gym and I will never again. I will pay 3x the amount to join a better managed facility that truly is cancel anytime.

gym is nice. employees are generally polite. ive never had an issue until this month. i dont pay much attention to when my fees are due and unfortunately this month i didnt have the money in my account for 24 hours. on the 17 i got a notification from my bank card that the payment didnt go through. i figured it was not a big deal. maybe they would try to take the money again the next day. they did not. i figured id pay it when i went into the gym since you cant make a payment on line. i didnt make it in last week but figured it would be fine ill pay it when i go Friday. so today...today they charge me 25.00 dollars. they waited 8 days. only one attempt to charge my card, then waited 8 days to charge me a late fee.
after much conversation ive decided that i no longer wish to be apart of this gym and cancelled my membership. there is no contract and for a whole 24 hours i was short 5 bucks in my account. rather then refund the late fee for the fist time ive ever had a problem with my card they lost a regular customer that only came in at most 2x per week. for 25 bucks you lost the whole year of payments.
what a shame. ill happily find me a new gym to attend. your loss

It's what you'd expect from a planet fitness. It's a good gym to work out at unless you're someone who likes/has to work out in the morning. If that's the case, I wouldn't bother signing up. Whoever is working the mornings isn't reliable and it seems that for a while now, maybe multiple times per month, no one is there to open the gym when it's scheduled to be open. Nothing is more frustrating than when you're getting up before 5 and planning your whole day around going to the gym in the morning, then getting there to see no one has opened it. I'll usually sit in the parking lot for 10 minutes or so to give the employees the benefit of the doubt, but no one has ever showed up late to open. Happened again this morning. Super frustrating and not a great way to start your day. However, if you work out in the evenings, the staff then are great. If the morning crew could be as reliable, this would be a 4 or 5 star review.
