Its one of the largest planet fitness locations Ive been to in the country, both in floor space and locker room size. Even if the parking lot was full I wouldnt hesitate to go in, its just so much room. Everything looked clean and well kept, the air smelled nice, and theres a Chili's next door. What more could you ask for? I enjoyed it.

So today I had my car broken into in their parking lot and that’s not fun but the staff took care of me and my wife the best they could they gave us cold drinks while we waited in the heat and talk to the cops gave us a snack they even vacuumed the broken glass out of my car on this hard day they definitely made it a little bit better. It used to run much better a few years ago. Now machines get broken and not fixed for weeks. They used to have pizza on the first Monday of every month. There's no such thing anymore, but they keep on increasing the membership fees every year. The parking lot is full of huge potholes and has been like that for almost a year now. People have broken their wheels, and yet the management doesn't care to fix it.

Oh my god. This planet fitness has to be the best one across the board. They are closed for 2 weeks so i’ve been going to the other pfs in the area. Every single other one in the rochester area is horrible. SO crowded, only 1 of every machine, horrible layouts, poorer quality treadmills and stair-masters, and so much more. Victor planet fitness i love you and none of these other pfs even compare.

This gym used to be clean, but is starting to get pretty gross over the past few months. I'm not sure what changed. *UPDATE 3/7/25 I spoke with the RM ALEX a couple months ago when I upgraded to a black card and she assured me that I would NOT be charged the annual fee considering the issue below. However I see that annual charge came out and I have called and left her several messages and stopped in and she has failed to call me back. Not a good way to do business, Alex. ***************************** (Older message but still relevant) I left the Victor location in the summer because of the free students but also because I didn’t like the setup and the bikes were always broken. I rejoined because they redid the inside however it is over crowded still. I wish for the summer they would limit the times for the free student memberships to midday. That is the time it is the slowest and the kids don’t have school so that would make sense.

It’s a standard example of a Planet Fitness.
It is huge inside and it’s kept clean and it’s clear they try to keep it in nice shape. The community there is mostly friendly and the staff is always nice and helpful. It’s not a bad place to workout.

Planet Fitness’s Sneaky Billing Practices Watch Out for Extra Charges⚠️

I’m beyond frustrated with Planet Fitness and their questionable practices. From hidden charges to repeated fees, they seem to prioritize squeezing extra dollars from their members. Here’s what happened to me:

When I first signed up, I paid the required annual fee upfront. Then, before summer, I asked to freeze my membership since I’d be using my school’s gym program. They agreed, saying it was “totally fine.” But when summer ended, they demanded another annual fee. That was the second annual fee I’d paid in less than a year.

Even worse, multiple times I noticed extra $15 charges, which they blamed on a supposed “issue” with my bank account, even though my bank confirmed everything was fine on my end.

Then, I paid my monthly $10 fee in front of the assistant manager, who assured me I was “all good.” But a few days later, they hit me with another $49 annual fee demand. This was the third time they’d tried to charge me an annual fee in less than 12 months. The assistant manager stopped me after a workout and insisted I pay this fee again! When I pointed out that I’d already paid twice, he looked confused, and finally a different employee stepped in to confirm that my account should have been fine.

The next morning, I saw another surprise charge of $30 on my account. When I confronted the manager, she blamed their “system” for the supposed “late payment” even though I had already paid my fees directly in front of their staff.

This place is a nightmare. They hit me with fees repeatedly, and every time I asked about it, I got inconsistent explanations. Planet Fitness needs to stop taking advantage of members with these hidden fees and system “glitches.” I highly wouldn’t recommend this gym at all to anyone.

I’ve been coming here as my husbands guest for years and I’ve come here alone many times, I would scan my guest pass and nobody stopped me.

However today, they did and said the guests can only workout here if the member is here present physically. I said ok since when because I’ve come here for a long time and not a single time has anybody said this to me.
I said ok fine since I’m already here can I just workout and then I’ll just come with him here on out, they’re like no.

Why would I want to become a member of an establishment that changes their rules as they see fit and don’t even have the courtesy to allow me to just workout here since I’m already here? Now I have to drive all the way to LA fitness in the pouring rain. Take your money to LA fitness, the staff is way more courteous, equipment is newer.

Edit: my response to your reply is so I understand this is your policy but do you understand that your staff was never enforcing it all this time and how it can be an inconvenience when it is suddenly being enforced?? The right way to handle this would’ve been ok you can workout here for today but please come with the member here on out. Maybe you should train your staff on customer service.

Employee I tried dealing with, Brian. Now, too cut Brian some slack, I've been a member for many months, establishing my membership here at the Victor/Farmington greater East view area. I was calling in concerns too the amount of membership fees withdrawing from my account. I was highly patient knowing, he is just the desk guy and, it was in later hours, regardless of being 24/7 this day of the week. Anyhow when I told him my phone number to verify my membership that's been withdrawing out of my account at an increased amount than my agreement said, with no notification of increase or outreach of contact, when I asked him who should I speak with, he proceeded to blatantly laugh, then reply (yeah good luck have a nice day) then hung up the phone. I have listened too the interaction multiple times now. This is atrocious on how they treat their customers. If there is a manager directly I can talk with for this location? All I was taught was too contact the better Business bureau at something so disgustingly upsetting as this, especially as an public American organization promoting personal growth.

I worked out at the Victor location and there were no papertowels...at all in the entire gym. I asked the front desk and they said their order of paper towels to clean the machines didn't come in. The facility is a good size and they have enough equipment, but it's not kept up well. The walls look like they had stuff ripped off of them, they had no paper towel dispensers, the spray bottles were practically empty, the tvs were blurry, everything seems done without any effort or care.

The workers were nice, but just sat behind the counter. I didn't see anyone walking around cleaning, refilling the empty spray bottles, or anything like that.

They have four stationary bikes. Only three have been in operation for quite a while. Now, they are down to two bikes. It should be a top priority to repair your equipment immediately and/or replace it.
Access to paper towels is insufficient. I've lost count of how many times I've approached a station with no paper towels available. Notifying the staff works when there are staff available to leave the front desk. I shouldn't even have to do that. Your team members should periodically be monitoring the areas or have extra rolls there during busy periods.

Smelly, dirty, high school locker room vibe. Thursday November 3rd 2022 approximately 1:00 p.m. I frequently use this gym when I am in the area. I have frequented the Gates NY location, the Canandaigua NY location, and the Greece NY location. My home gym is Webster NY, which is absolutely amazing! The cleanest and neatest gym with the friendliest most attentive staff I have ever experienced in my 55 years. I have been a gym guy since I was 9 years old. I even had the blessing of going to the original Samson's gym on Lyell Avenue and seeing Danny Padilla, "The Giant Killer" in person!
Everytime I go to Victor location,same experience,paper towel pieces laying all over the floor,high school kids working out(hanging out) in their sock feet,equipment accessories laying everywhere except for on the accessory rack where they belong, and the staff always behind the counter which is usually only one or two people, never coming out from behind the counter to attend to the gym floor. Yesterday when the afternoon gentleman/employee came in(probably around 2-3 pmish), he came in wearing a ball cap backwards, with an insulated flannel on covering up his Planet Fitness t-shirt that he never took off. You could not tell if he was an employee or just some kid hanging out behind the counter. Which it wouldn't really matter either way because he spent the whole time sitting in a chair on his cell phone while the other young gentleman dressed nicely with a nice Planet Fitness Polo on stayed busy behind the counter appearing to be working. But again not coming from behind the counter to attend to the gym floor. The locker room itself is a whole nother issue! This locker room is by far one of the largest and fanciest I have ever seen in a gym, much nicer than most gym restrooms.Even nicer than I've seen in some very fancy hotels. The kicker is when you go to the part to use the facilities(shower,toilet and urnal area), the entire place is an absolute mess and just reeks of urine. I often will drive all the way back to Webster to work out just to avoid this type of disappointment that I've experienced in the Victor location over and over and over again.

Absolutely worst gym membership you can buy in the area. I spent months attempting to cancel my membership and was finally able to cancel it after numerous calls to corporate. Once you buy a membership, you HAVE to pay it every month without being able to cancel it for a year unless you want to pay another large fee. I did the math and spent over $388 over the coarse of the past year and went only 3-4 times. You can see when the last time you checked in was on the app, mine was the beginning of August. They don't give any refunds or anything, their customer support is absolutely horrendous. The only reason this company stays afloat is by trapping their customers into memberships that they are unable to cancel. Also, if you move out of the area like I did, you STILL have to go in person to give them your signature. You'd think during a "pandemic" they would have alternate options to do this.

All of this and I still haven't mentioned how unprofessional the staff and members are at the gym itself.

Save yourself some money and buy your own work out equipment.

I think the facility is really nice and the locker room is nice. Some of the machines are a little run down but like that's completely expected since it's used by so many people! However, I'm lowering my rating because there is just no attention to the mask mandate. I understand not wanting to wear a mask while working out, I don't want to either but I'd say probably 90% of the people are completely not wearing masks. And not just wearing them incorrectly, just straight up don't even have one. I would understand more if they were on a cardio machine and they were social distanced, I don't really mind that, but there really is just no regulation on it all. I wouldn't even be writing this but today I saw a trainer working with somebody who just wasn't wearing a mask and didn't say anything to her? And I don't expect the employees to run around body slamming everyone who's wearing their mask slightly incorrectly haha I understand they don't get paid enough for that, but some regulation would make it feel a lot safer.

The classic membership allows gym-goers an affordable monthly subscription for just 10$ a month. There are other membership plans offered that up the perks offered (free UV tanning, use of the water massage chair, bringing a guest) and members are offered the chance to sign up for classes or hire a personal trainer. PF offers a wide range of cardio equipment, machines for lifting (approx. 2 of each machine) for users to target specific muscle groups, and other machinery for the advanced gym rats that follow their own personalized workouts. Additionally, you can find people of all levels of fitness and ages at PF, making it a very inclusive community that prides itself on being a judgement-free zone. However, the staff has never been overly friendly or good at providing adequate customer service- but this can be overlooked. For the most part, the gym is kept pretty cleanly, but it’s COVID procedures and safety protocols are neither strictly enforced or followed. The majority of PF gym-goers, at any given hour, can be consistently found with their mask below their nose and chin. Despite this blatant disregard for the gym’s rules and its participants safety, PF employees allow members to do so and then don’t wipe down or sanitize the equipment until mid day or before close. There NEEDS to be stricter rules that are guaranteed to be enforced, or at least attempted to be enforced, to ensure the safety of its members. Overall however, the gym offers an affordable membership plan with gyms at many locations and that are bound to have at least one that’ll be conveniently located near you. While the staff is below-average in terms of customer service and enforcing safety rules & regulations, the vast availability of different exercise equipment and nonjudgmental atmosphere makes up for the downfalls.

Every planet fitness has a 30-minute room in which members are supposed to use each piece of equipment for 1 minute, clean it and move on so that everyone has equal access to the machines. But, There are members who go in and use a machine for a long time, which messes up the people using the room correctly. When I went to ask staff to correct this- put up a sign, talk to members, they said, “we can’t tell members to use the room correctly, it’s just a courtesy”. And, “you can move onto the next machine and get the same results”. Wow- why have the room then?? Terrible customer service. Worst planet fitness in Rochester.

Be careful with Planet Fitness if you want to cancel your plan you have to do it in person, they renewed my membership and I didn’t want to and won’t reimburse me because I couldn’t make it there to physically cancel. Then when you say you want to freeze? They charge you for every month you froze your account membership. I do not recommend and felt I was treated very unprofessionally. This is by far the worst gym I’ve ever been to. They do not clean their facilities. The staff is incredibly rude. They also charged me during the pandemic when they said they didn’t but I have bank statements to prove so. Unethical & unprofessional business all around.

Staff is extremely polite and respond well to respectful costumers. Gym is generally cleans and extremely large giving you access to more equipment. This is the perfect gym to begin your weight loss journey or beginner techniques in weight lifting

Opened a membership here a few years ago, missed a few payments. Went to cancel my membership in person was told I could not because it was sent to collections. When asked how to pay the collections was not given an answer. So here I am paying over $20 per month for NOTHING!!!!!!!!! for the past 2 years PLANET FITNESS IS A BUNCH OF THEIVES.

I love this gym. Easy location and decent amount of equipment for what I need. I love the current staff.

Only reasons I won't give a 5 star is because of the hours. The whole turn on of Planet Fitness for me was the 24/7 availability. But the Victor location closes early on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Which makes it tough on those of us with odd hours (like I do as a farm owner). I like to go to the gym everyday, but sometimes lose the chance to on the weekends because of the odd closing times.

And, for the love of God, please turn the heat down before I pass out mid run. I can't make it half a mile without swimming in my own sweat and getting dizzy from lack of air flow and high room temperatures. People can wear sweatshirts if they're cold!

Equipment is up to date, but when it's raining or snowing the roof leaks in many places. There are buckets set up to catch the water. It is very embarrassing.
