The membership price does not match the quality of the facility. Only a small section behind the front counter features newer equipment, while the rest of the gym contains outdated and poorly maintained machines. The free weight area is often disorganized, with weights scattered and not re-racked after use.

Cleanliness and maintenance appear to be ongoing issues. Many members do not wipe down equipment after use, and the overall upkeep of the space could be significantly improved. The men’s sauna is very small, has an unpleasant odor, and one of the two urinals has been out of order.

Overall, this gym has potential, but it needs better maintenance, updated equipment, and stronger management oversight to justify its premium membership cost.

This gym cancelled my friend membership after he had already paid for the months membership for "shirtless" pics that were taken without anyone else being around to show his progress yet their story on IG shows a boy of a different race with his shirt off?!? First off, if you reached out to me via phone, why didn’t you leave a message? It’s 2025…people leave voicemails if it’s important. Once I received your email, I called you right away — twice — and left a message. I’ve also left two additional emails regarding my paperwork, and it’s been five days with no response. But you can reply to everyone who leaves a review?

Then you mentioned my shirtless content. What about the guy on the floor that people have been complaining about for years, who has his shirt off every morning? Did you warn him? If so, he clearly hasn’t followed the rules. Or what about the guy in the bathroom that you promoted on your social media with his phone — is that even legal? Don’t you have signs in the bathroom that prohibit filming?

If you actually checked the cameras when I come into the gym at 2 a.m., you’d see my shirt is only off for about six seconds in a video. I’m always mindful and respectful of anyone who might be in my camera view.

And as far as my so-called “dangerous acts” with the barbell — that video was from two years ago. I didn’t harm myself or anyone else, and I’ve never damaged any equipment. Granted, it’s your gym, and if I were wearing blue socks, you could technically kick me out… but where was the warning?

Or what about the people who come in between 5–9 p.m., boxing and sparring in the back? That actually looks dangerous to me. I’m a professional boxer, and your guests shouldn’t be sparring each other without proper equipment or supervision — that’s dangerous if you ask me. Did you get a chance to see that because I have video of it myself.

I’ve been a loyal member for three years. Why couldn’t anyone just tell me to take the video down? You’ve accepted my membership payments all this time without ever mentioning that my content was an issue. If it was, I would have stopped immediately — this is how I feed my family. I had a conversation with you when I first joined and told you “I shoot content for a living”.

And also what about my headphones? I reported them missing twice!!..two separate pairs because I knew I lost them on the gym floor while your staff was working. Those were $600 headphones — and I never got any help or follow-up about it.

So this is how you treat loyal customers?

Powerhouse Gym Nanuet is hands down one of the best gyms in Rockland County. The equipment selection is incredible — everything from heavy free weights to functional training gear and turf space. The gym is clean, spacious, and rarely feels overcrowded, even during peak hours. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the 24/7 access is a huge plus for anyone with a busy schedule.

This gym is pristine. The equipment is well maintained and always updated. Kudos to the owner for that. Also the cleaning staff is second to none. Only two people from what I’ve noticed, but they are always working very hard to maintain cleanliness to the facility. This is why I’m a member and also why I came back after an injury absence. #THEPERFECTGYM located in the heart of Rockland County. There's great equipment, easy to use. Super spacious layout, with tons of natural light blasting in. Very high ceilings. Love the workout music. Nice grey decor and a beautiful spotless locker room. Open 24 hours, nice people and safe parking lot. Within 10 minutes, I knew this was the perfect gym for a great price in August.

They delete negative reviews, i posted a negative review about my experience and they deleted it after it got a lot of views and thumbs up. That means other people face the same problem as I did and this gym location is trying to hide any bad experiences. I had foot surgery back in march and i wasn’t going to be going to the gym for a while, I went IN PERSON on April 23, 2025 to cancel. The manager came down and i told her my situation and she said i’d be charged for the following month because they need a 30 day notice (which i completely get, fine.) but she told me if i email a doctors note they would waive that charge… I did email a doctors note a week later. The following month i get charged and i assume “ok maybe they didn’t get the note whatever i’ll accept the 30 day charge”. If their policy is to send a doctors note for the charge be waived then i shouldn’t have let that slide anyway.
Then i get charged the following month June 18, 2025, I call and speak to the manager on the phone and she says my account was never cancelled and was still active (which is such bullshit because i legit spoke to her in person). I asked her for a refund for the past 2 charges and she said it would go through in a couple business days and that my account has been deactivated.
I waited 2 weeks for the refund and it never came through so i called again and spoke to one of the guys there and he told me my account was still active, He told me he would let his manager know to reach back out to me (of course that never happened).
THEN of course i get charged again last week July 18, 2025.
I have been veryyyyy gracious this entire time but my patience is all gone now.
I am actually so sick of having to hound this lady to give me my money back since i really did like this gym 🙄
Im expecting my $149.97 back in my account asap.
Maybe this review will get someone’s attention.

I love how welcoming the staffs are. They are all approachable, and as a newbie at the gym, they never made me feel awkward when I had questions. The gym is not crowded, making it neither overwhelming nor overstimulating.

Update: It has been a year since I started going to the gym, the staffs are very friendly and are always willing to answer your questions whenever you need to. The gym is well maintained and equipment are always clean and in placed. I recommend this gym. And my bestie loves powerhouse gym. The only suggestion I'd like to give is it would be great if they have a kid's club so that parents can go to the gym and not worry who will watch them while working out.

The temperature inside the gym is often unbearable, especially at night when I usually visit. It feels like there’s little to no air conditioning, making it hard to focus on my workout.

The cleanliness of the gym is another concern. The trash cans are often full, particularly in the men’s bathroom, which is not a great sight.

The men’s locker room also has some major issues. One of the doors in the changing room doesn’t lock. The sauna is also poorly maintained - it’s tiny (only fitting 2-4 people max), and the temperature and light controls are broken. To make matters worse, the wooden seating area is damaged and has broken apart.

Overall, I think the gym needs to work on its facilities and maintenance to provide a better experience for its members. Paying 50 - 60 $ a MONTH on top with the fees for this kind of experience is unacceptable.
