This is from my 9yr old son (Siddharth).
This is a very good parkour class, great equipments, and excellent teachers!
I especially loved doing ACRO classes and bounce on the air track. I always wanted to do it, but didn’t have the equipments at home.
Thank you Tegan, Josh, Charlie and Jonathan!

My first class here was 12 years ago today. I've finally made up my mind, this is a great gym! In over a decade of parkour training that's taken me from beginner classes, to coaching, to competing in national parkour competitions and world chase tag, Charlie and Nicole still stand out among the best movement coaches I've had the pleasure of training with. Their attention to detail and adaptability is truly world class. It's been an honor to be part of this community.

As far as I know, not only Rochester's best but Rochester's only parkour gym. Excellent practice for movement and life. Don't worry that you are not up to it, they have room for everyone. Do expect, on occasion, to be randomly astonished by what you see!

I have gone here for nerf battles on the weekend with my son, disc golf putting league, and my son has his birthday party here. This place is so great! The place is so clean and organized, plenty of space to get ready, room to sit for those not participating, and the staff is amazing.

My son’s birthday party was perfect. We used the party room and had the gym from 90 minutes of nerf battles. They even matched the theme of the party with their games. He had so much fun, his friends loved it and the parents that played it too may have had the most fun.

Definitely recommend checking them out for any number of activities they have!

We've been taking classes at Rochester Parkour for several years now, our girls starting in Tiny Movers and now in Kids and Youth. It's been a wonderful journey - the instructors are able to give a lot of individualized attention, more than at other movement activities we've done around Rochester, and a real sense of community develops in the process. The schedule is super flexible, too, not being locked into one time slot every week, unlike gymnastics etc. - and that means they get to work with different instructors, all of whom are great and bring different focuses. Definitely give it a try!

Rochester Parkour has gone above and beyond to work with my son with autism! They have taken the time to get to know him and how he learns best. He loves attending the Game Day classes and working on much needed social skills.

My three kids have been in several classes: Tiny Movers, Kids 1 and 2, and Youth 1 and 2 classes. The instructors are great at encouraging safe movement and recognize when a child is ready to try more challenging moves and obstacles. These parkour classes have been amazing for building strength and confidence!

This is such a great place for kids to gain confidence, strength, and coordination in an authentic and organic environment. We have a 4 year old and 7 year old (with extremely different personalities and abilities) who have been attending since last fall and they both love it!

The owners are truly passionate about what they do and it shows!

The space is not visually overwhelming and it’s calm and quiet, which is great for kids who can’t handle sensory overload.

The instructor are kind, approachable, fun and encouraging!

There is no cheesy marketing or upsells pushed on you - which I appreciate from a budget and environmental standpoint.

Most of all, safety is at the forefront without coming off rigid or authoritative.

I am blown away by the progress and confidence my kiddos have gained this past year.

Thank you Rochester Parkour team!

A year ago when I heard the word "parkour" , I thought, "this is the thing rebellious youth do..." I had visions of my son at 32 living in my basement, eating Fritos in his Superman underwear, playing Xbox and only leaving to trespass and jump off things that shouldn't be jumped off. (Like my roof) I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hesitant. But... I was pleasantly surprised. Parkour has been a great experience for our 12 year old. The level of teaching is fantastic. All the staff are not only knowledgeable in "how to teach youth (and adults)" (i.e. recognizing social/emotional cues, setting adequate goals, encouragement, checking in with parents, etc) but they're also very knowledgeable in the technical aspects of the sport . My wife and I have collegiate dance experience and it's exciting to see the teachers share the anatomy and physiology of movement (i.e. why and how our bodies move in certain ways and how we can build on the skills we have to challenge ourselves further). It's far from rebellious youth. If anything --- Parkour can help students understand and achieve more in various other sports simply by learning and training to understand movement.

A few suggestions for newbies to consider:

- Drop in classes are great to get your feet wet but there are so many various aspects to parkour that a one time experience (whether good or bad) wouldn't give the proper insight to the potential. Give it a few drop in (at least four) classes before deciding if it's right for you. The membership will allow for multiple classes and a broader experience.

- While the pandemic and politics have left many of us divided and frustrated, companies have taken a variety of approaches to work through it. Im not here to make a statement on how I feel about masks but to hopefully share something helpful. RocPK (as of today) requires participants and observers to wear masks while in the gym. I am thankful that my son who takes parkour can easily participate and the mask doesn't challenge or frustrate him. This would not be the case for all my children.

- If you're not a fan of parallel parking, there's a lot to the left of the building (to your left as your facing the building - past the cider house and brewery)

In all, I highly recommend this activity. This has been a great experience. Id love to see something like a RocPK picnic / family fun day where families could come together (maybe outside at a park) and get to know one another more with the staff. It might help build a stronger sense of community. (As parents we value activities because it engages our kids with others, while parkour is different from say your team sports (and that's okay), I think it'd be great encouragement and help us connect with those crazy cool RocPK community.

RockPK is fantastic! I went for about 3 years and could not recommend it enough if you are at all interested in Parkour, or just another way to be healthy and mobile. The staff is very professional, skilled, knowledgeable, and friendly! They have a deep understanding of not only parkour, but exersice science and kinesthetics as well. The classes are incredibly fun and well structured, with each focusing on a specific aspecpt of parkour. Parkour can seem intense from the outside, but they teach the fundamentals in very safe and understandable way, and its not long before your pulling off some really cool stuff! As well as getting a good workout in. From children to adults, everyone is welcome! Seriously this place and these people are great!

Quality movement instruction with instructors that are very dedicated, skilled and love what they are doing. Parkour is for everybody - they teach you very basic skills and build from there so that you learn to move fluidly with safety, strength and suppleness through your environment. It is basic movement literacy and it's for all ages! I enjoy being able to hang out here with my kids, learning and progressing and being part of this wonderful community.

I started training close to two years ago, and it changed my life for the better immediately. I wanted something to keep me in shape that was both fun and challenging, and doing the same lifts at the gym every week wasn't interesting to me. As someone who sits at a desk for 8 hours a day, I needed something that got me active and creative outside of work. I had always been curious about Parkour, and after realizing there was a gym right here in Rochester (that gives a free first class) I pulled the trigger, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Not only have I built up a good amount of muscle mass, but my body is entirely more mobile, and I'm more confident in everything from taking care of my body in my main sport, to how I carry myself in my personal life.

Their staff is far beyond knowledgeable and friendly. They take their work incredibly seriously in making sure they enforce safe training habits, proper technique, and of course making sure people enjoy learning to move throughout an environment. If you would've told me that within a few months I'd feel safe (and thoroughly enjoy) vaulting full-speed over objects at my hip height, balancing on a bar several feet off the ground, performing muscle-ups and many other techniques, I'd have never believed it.

They have built a strong culture that revolves around slowly working through progressions, encouraging and motivating each other, and never making anyone feel like they need to move at a pace faster than what they're comfortable with. I am absolutely not a big risk taker - never once for a second in any class have I felt unsafe, or like what I was about to attempt was dangerous.

I would highly recommend anyone of any age, weight, height, etc. give them a try.

First class was free and now I am addicted. I never thought I would see myself with a gym membership but here we are. The thought of lifting weights and running in place was never appealing to me. However this is not the case at RocPK. Here you learn how to overcome obstacles, use your imagination to navigate over, around or through objects. It can be mentally engaging and physically challenging at the same time. The gym slowly changes over time so you can explore end exploit new features. The staff is ineradicable, super friendly and knowledgeable. I get to look forward to community board game night every month. This place has been worth every penny. I hope to see them grow and flourish as the years go on.

I highly recommend Rochester Parkour! Not only is it fun, but I feel a sense of accomplishment when I try and can do new movements (theif vault shown below). The other members are friendly and the staff's guidance is helpful. I also love that I'm building strength and coordination that's useful for everyday life. When you practice easily balancing on a thin pipe, you'll always be able to balance on a curb without injuring your ankle.

When you watch Parkour videos on YouTube, it looks scary and I thought I would never be able to do anything. But, carelessly leaping between tall buildings is NOT Parkour, and I've always felt safe because the staff does a great job helping you work up to everything.

Charlie, Nicole, and all of the instructors are fantastic! Classes at Rochester parkour have a strong focus on useful, real-world movement. The progression through different movements help me fully understand what my body has to do to safely master a technique. I did not expect that within a few months I would feel safe and comfortable balancing several feet off the ground on a bar or able to run up a ten foot wall! I highly recommend everyone tries at least one class.
