My husband participated in Rock Steady Boxing classes here for several years. Susan Thomas DPT is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She is dedicated to helping people with Parkinson’s and she does so in a fun and kind manner. Also, her team of assistants are wonderful. I highly recommend Rock Steady Boxing Eastern Island.

Eastern Rock Steady is the best program to fight Parkinson's.
Susan is the absolute best instructor, motivator, coach by your side, to fight Parkinson's.

She brings knowledge and passion to her program.
Susan cares deeply about her students.

Be prepared to work out, like you never did before.
Don't worry,Susan will be by your side all the way.

One day, a fellow student and I were leaving the class.
And we both agreed, and said to each other,
Thank God Susan came into our lives, in our fight against parkinson's.

About two years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's
.It was scary and I didn't know how to deal with the disease. An acquaintance of ours has been dealing with Parkinson's for many years. He told me about Rock Steady Boxing Eastern Long Island and Susan Thomas. I went to a class with him and immediately felt that this is where I wanted to go for the treatment and support I would need to manage my disease.
I have been doing Rock Steady Boxing weekly and I have done some one on one PT with Susan, the Rock Steady Boxing coach.
I just had my appointment with my Neurologist this week She was more than pleased with my control of the disease symptoms. We talked about the program I am following with Rock Steady and Susan and she wishes more of her patients would do what I have been doing.
Susan is an amazing, compassionate and knowledgeable therapist. I have recommended her to other members of my family and to my doctors. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone needing neurological therapy.

Rock Steady Boxing Eastern Long Island is a program that offers both rigor and flexibility. It is gratifying to see my own progress over the course of several weeks. I owe a large portion of my success to the positive work ethic shown by Susan. No one can yet claim a total knockout, but I can report seeing my Parkinson's on the ropes.

Hi! Kathy C. here, using Bill's computer to tell you how much I love Rock Steady Boxing. Susan, our coach, is amazing! She is not only gifted and supportive, she is also passionate about what she does! She brings an energy to all of us who battle PD every day. Each week, my fellow boxers are a continuous inspiration to me. The rigorous classes, which includes strength and conditioning exercises, speed, agility and balance, as well as what Susan refers to as "fun activities" - all adding up to a full 90 minute workout. I am so blessed to box with this amazing group of men and women who strive to be the best they can be as we all fight Parkinson's.

I am blessed to be a participant of this program. Where should I start? The physical therapeutic benefits are so important. Each class is different and challenging. There are always modifications to suit each person. What we learn reinforces what we need to always be mindful of in our every day lives.
This program provides emotional and social support. We feed off each other's positive vibes. We look forward to seeing each other and cheer each other on.
Most importantly, we have an outstanding leader who is not only professional but sincerely cares. This program is a necessity and I am fortunate to be a part of it!

Finding this Rock Steady has been a blessing for my father Mario and his Parkinson’s. Susan and Lori (the two coaches) are both trained professional physical therapist’s making me feel confident in their abilities to help my father fight back against Parkinson’s. Susan has been such an amazing coach, therapist, and friend to my whole family. Every class is different and challenges Parkinson’s patients at the appropriate level. Coaches are hands on with all patients. If you’re looking for a workout that engages the whole body and mind for your loved one with Parkinson’s, Rock Steady is the perfect place to go. If you’re looking for a therapeutic setting that is safe and comforting and that feels like a family for your loved one, Rock Steady Commack is the right choice.
