I’m writing to share my recent experience with Instructor Caiden, which unfortunately was very disappointing. I came to the facility eager to learn to swim, but I did not feel respected or supported during my lesson. Throughout the session, Caiden’s behavior made me uncomfortable. I felt that I was being mocked, and there were moments when I heard snickering that seemed directed at me. This created an environment where I did not feel safe or welcomed.
Because of this, I do not feel comfortable returning for additional lessons. I hope management will review this situation, as all students deserve a respectful and professional learning environment. Caiden should not be trusted!

I attended here with my child an I could honestly say this establishment is terrible as the instructor Caterin was an overall disrespectful and terrible employee Caterin is, without a doubt, the worst swim instructor imaginable. My child went into her class excited about learning to swim, but Caterin's harsh and impatient methods quickly turned that excitement into fear. She seemed to lack any understanding of how to work with children, pushing them too hard and creating a stressful environment. Now, my child is terrified of the water, all thanks to Caterin's incompetence. Save your money and your child's emotional well-being – avoid Caterin at all costs! Caterin is an amazing swim instructor. My son is on the spectrum and will only swim with her. She is very patient, encouraging and helpful. She allows him to learn at his own pace while also pushing him to learn new skills. She gives us a breakdown of how the class went, what they worked on and where he has improved. We have been going here for over a year now, and couldn’t be happier. Our son is non verbal autistic, and Ms. Cat handles him with such love and patience. He has come so far! My granddaughter started swimming lessons with Safe-t-Swim (Deer Park) in the summer of 2023. She has made tremendous progress. She now swims the length of the pool, including back and side strokes. My granddaughter looks forward to her weekly lessons and interacting with her instructor, Annecia. Annecia is patient, kind, and a great instructor.

My three girls have been swimming for 1.5 years at Deer Park branch.
They joined the swim team 3 months ago, and the coaches, Jenna and Caterin, they are guide the kids to work hard on swimming while being warm and friendly, helping them improve their skills.

So thankful for swim instructors Jenna, Caterin, Andy, and Adrianna.

Plus, I wouldn’t have stayed this long with the kids if it weren’t for Elizabeth at the front desk.
The payment system problems from the Saf-T-Swim main company are so annoying to me every single time, but Elizabeth always provides relief and resolves the issues so professionally.

Elizabeth and Caterin also do their best to make schedules for us when my 3 girls need to make-up class, even they have different levels.

Thanks to all staff at Deer Park, My three girls have been able to enjoy a happy time while exercising.

This Saf-T-Swim is amazing. My daughter talks about swimming all week up until her weekly class with Javier. He is a wonderful teacher. He engages her and actually sings to her! He makes it a fun event that she seriously would come to every day if she could. She has went from not knowing anything about swimming to floating, holding her breath, jumping in and swimming under water in just a few lessons. I feel so much better and safer about her swimming now thanks to this swim school! Kristen is so helpful with scheduling and has made it easy for us. 5 stars!

I was looking for a place where I could learn how to swim as an Adult, and Saf-T-Swim from Deer Park came up. What I like about this place is that they keep the pool water and bathrooms well-maintained, and the people at the front desk are very friendly and welcoming. My instructor, Caiden, is the best; she gives clear instructions and demonstrations, and whenever I feel that I'm doing something wrong, she patiently corrects my technique. 3 months ago, I couldn't even go past the shallow without feeling scared of drowning, but now I have gained much confidence in the water. I absolutely recommend Caiden because she challenges me to go out of my comfort zone to reach my potential.

I’ve been bringing my daughter here off and on for years. During this time she’s had numerous different instructors. When my daughter was 6months old we started with Javier, who was just wonderful intruding my little one to the water! We took some time off and unfortunately, Javier wasn’t available when we came back. If I ever had an issue or felt my daughter wasn’t getting the full experience that I was paying for, the managers were eager to listen and help rectify it. Each instructor can’t be the perfect match for each child. I’m so thankful she’s with Caiden now! My daughter’s so excited to go to her class and show Caiden her “big jumps” in the pool. I went to Saf T Swim when I was little and I always dreaded going. I would always hope that a child did #2 in the pool so my lesson would be cancelled. My kids are swimming there for couple of years. It was never like this before. It’s been two times the instructor is constantly talking to his friends outside in the whole private lessons. Everybody knows how expensive us private lesson and we are there for 30 minutes in which 5 min my daughter us given play time which I told so many times that she dosent needs it. I really don’t know where I should speak to anyone in the management about this. My other kids class cancelled 4 times in 3 months. Changed instructors and times so many times. Amazing Experience at Saf-T-Swim!

Our family has been going to Saf-T-Swim for years, and I can’t say enough great things about this place! Both of my sons have had incredible experiences here. One has gone from a beginner to a confident swimmer and is now proudly on the swim team—a huge milestone we attribute to the dedicated instructors. My younger son is currently learning to swim, and he’s making amazing progress, thanks to the patient, skilled, and encouraging teachers.

The instructors at Saf-T-Swim are truly exceptional—they connect with the kids, build their confidence, and teach them vital skills in a fun and supportive way. On top of that, the front desk staff is always courteous and incredibly helpful. I'm an adult with a disability and I received swim lessons at Saf-T-Swim for almost 2 years.  The reasons I stayed as long as I did were: Gia (swim instructor), Anesehia (swim instructor), and Elizabeth (front desk).  Gia and Anesehia were both amazing and Anesehia, in particular, who I worked with after Gia left was such a warm, friendly, and encouraging instructor to work with that if I could have just paid her directly, I would have.

Unfortunately about 6 months into getting lessons, I started having billing issues and make-up class issues with Saf-T-Swim.  There were times when my card was charged even though I'd notified them in advance of a date I wouldn't be able to attend a class.  There were also times when I had to miss a previously scheduled class due to my disability and I was having difficulties, like others have noted in their reviews, getting make-up classes scheduled.  Every time I called the Saf-T-Swim main customer service line to try to address these issues, I was met with dismissive and apathetic customer service reps.  Then on two occasions, my card was hacked and unauthorized charges were on my card (with the second occasion only Saf-T-Swim had that card information).

I was going to stop lessons with Saf-T-Swim then, but Elizabeth (front desk) offered a resolution so that I didn't have to drop my enrollment.  I would write down the dates I knew in advance that I wasn't going to be able to attend classes and she would put it into the system to prevent the charge, I was able to pay with cash and take my credit card off file (and when I did that, the unauthorized charges suddenly stopped), and any make-up that I couldn't get scheduled would be credited into the next month's tuition.  To me, this is an example of stellar customer service and I stayed for another year and a half getting lessons at Saf-T-Swim because of that customer service from Elizabeth.

But alas, Saf-T-Swim is going to be Saf-T-Swim, a business with poor customer service.  When Elizabeth was no longer at the front desk, someone else undid the resolution she had put in place and I was essentially told that whether I was cancelling a previously scheduled class because of my disability or the previously scheduled class was being cancelled by Saf-T-Swim (because Saf-T-Swim also cancelled a number of classes during my 2 years there), it was up to me to figure out a make-up solution or just lose my money.  Instead, I went with a third option and stopped getting lessons from them.  While the swim instructors here are wonderful, there are too many cons with this place to recommend it.

Cons: billing issues that include refusing to refund when they've made a billing error, make-up policy (which is essentially a money scam), lack of transparency in their business practices, poor customer service, failure to honor resolutions, and unclean location.

Not only are all the swim teachers very well trained for all levels they are great with high energy children. This last month they trained our children in swimming safety even with clothes and sneakers on. They are AWESOME. The girl at the desk (Liz) is there biggest asset. She knows ALl the kids names which make them feel safe and welcome. She does events like no other especially face painting, I hope we never loose her. This Deer Park group really make you feel like family and they protect like we are family. Also thank you to our life guard Ryan he explains to the children why things are unsafe especially diving in the shallow end and he talks on there level so they understand. This place is a scam. They charged me for November on 10/25. My child was injured 10/26 and cannot attend swimming until he’s healed. They will not refund my money or even carryover the month I just paid for. I basically lose the 265 they just charged me. There is nothing they can do. This place is a scam. It’s an extenuating circumstance. I even offered to bring the proof that I’m not lying and they wouldn’t help me. I will never use this place again.

The instructor who was assigned to my child’s lesson would force my child to go to the middle of the pool on her second lesson and now she is traumatized. They do not know how to make kids feel comfortable. The makeup session is a joke. They charge cards without consent.

Wouldn't recommend to anyone who is serious about kids learning to swim. If you want the kids to play in water then it is fine.
I have two boys 6 and 4 years old. I enrolled them in September for weekly private classes, then in middle of October was told that one instructor is leaving so I switched for Semiprivate lessons weekly, but given that they haven't learned I then enrolled them in two back-to-back classes every week for November, and yet they don't know how to even float in the water.
In the middle of October, I was trying to see progress report for the kids, but it was never filled out! 6 weeks and nothing filled out. It took me close to 7 phone calls with different team members for them to update it once!,
At the end of November I decided it was not worth the money.
each(30 min) session of private lessons is $60 per child, then each 30 min session for semiprivate is $40 per child. so you can see how much money was spent for nothing.
Good luck trying to talk to the swimming instructor, as they have their schedule back to back with different kids so they don't even get a break between kids, of course they are not going to fill out the kids progress report!
My kids were not afraid of the water, and they use to go everyday to the pool during the summer.
Btw classes used to be 60 minutes sessions for the same price apparently this changed a little over a year ago.
Don't send your kids there unless you want them to play in the water.

Javier and Sonny have a great relationship with my children & have taught them so much. This past summer my two year old was able to swim in our pool independently, wearing only floaties (under our supervision). My 7 month old has been having a great time. All of my children look forward to their swimming lessons each week.

My son has been a member of the Deer Park location for over a year and a half and I cannot say enough on how this program has helped him develop his swim skills. In this time period he has moved up three levels and is most likely a level away from swimming on his own. Thank you Saf-T-Swim for being a lifesaver.

DO NOT let them save your credit card information! They would just charge your card without permission or any contracts at all.

Their supervisor is at "meetings" every single time you have to talk to them and they will lie to you about who will be teaching the classes.

The instructor helped my 8 year old son feel at ease to get into pool when he was very nervous initially. She took her time and he was swimming from her to the wall within 10 min of his lesson. He left feeling happy, confident and excited to come back for his next lesson.

The stars go out for the instructors who really go above and beyond, Devon and Karina are great instructors. If you can catch a class with them, do! You wont regret it! They both are patient and do such a good job with kids who are afraid of water.

I have been going to the Deer Park Saf-T-Swim for almost 9 years! My oldest became a master swimmer last year, but my other 2 continue to go each week! Everyone is nice and helpful and I appreciate all the employees! I will give a special shout out to Sonny! He has been an incredible instructor and friend to my boys over the years! They love and respect him so much and enjoy swimming with him! We are so sad to see Erin leave, but we know she will do great things! Erin was the instructor for the past 2 years for my youngest child! She will be missed terribly!And if I could just mention one more person, Colleen is amazing! Sadly, I don't get to see her much anymore, but she always goes above and beyond to help me out with scheduling or anything else! It was always nice to see her behind the desk on lesson days!Keep up the great work, Deer Park Saf-T-Swim!

Sonny is my son Grady's teacher and Andy is my son Travis' teacher - they have both worked wonders with my boys. Both boys hated swimming and have now grown to enjoy it. Grady has come so far with Sonny. Sonny makes a huge effort to connect with Grady and that has made all the difference. For the first time I'm seeing Grady laugh and have fun in the pool and the fact that he has grown in leaps and bounds with Sonny as his teacher is priceless. Andy is absolutely wonderful with Travis and it has been amazing watching Andy lead Travis into things I never thought I would see him capable of at his age. Travis is not usually as comfortable with men but Andy's patience and quiet kindness have definitely coaxed an amazing level of trust out of Travis and its really wonderful to see. Both instructors have an unimaginable amount of patience. I simply can not say enough about my wonderful experience at the Deer Park Safety swim and the excellent staff they have there. Thank you & Keep up the great work!!

They should make a policy where the parent shouldn't be allowed to be on the phone having a conversation the ENTIRE 30 minutes our kids are in the policy. Every freaking week while trying to watch my 3 year old swim I have to listen to another parent on their phone yapping away the whole 30 minutes. Not fair to the rest of us and a policy should be in place.

My 11 month old loves going here. He started at 5 months with baby and me and has been doing individual lessons since with Tai. He is great with my son and all the instructors seem to be great with the other children. The older kids are impressive how great they can swim and feel confident if we keep going my son will also be a strong swimmer.

Start your kid early - both for safety / peace of mind, and to open up more family activity possibilities for you. My daughter was capable of self rescue at age three and confidently snorkeling at night in the Caribbean by four, thanks to this program. Recommend Sonny, if he's free!
