As a proud parent, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this swim school. The staff go above and beyond to create a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment. My child started off nervous and unsure, but with the patience and encouragement of the instructors, they’ve grown into a confident swimmer who actually looks forward to every lesson.

The program is thoughtfully designed, and you can tell the teachers truly care about each child’s progress. Watching my child not only develop strong swimming skills but also build confidence and independence has been such a great time . Instructor Brandon is the best! We had him for my daughter age (4) private lessons last year summer and this year summer only semiprivate for both daughter now 5yo and my son 7yo. They both are swimming now! My son is level 3 and my daughter 2. We started with no swimming. Brandon is studying something in elementary education and I could see that he just loves to work with children. They don't see where playing ends and learning begins. Working with children comes naturally and effortless to Brandon. He can handle two different age and swim levels at the same time easy! Thank you Brandon!

We’ve had a truly amazing experience at Saf-T-Swim Smithtown. From the moment we walk in, we’re always greeted with kindness and smiles by Gianna, Ori, and Alyia at the front desk. They go out of their way to make us feel welcome, which means so much, especially for families like ours.

My son Dominic, who has special needs and is nonverbal, has been thriving here thanks to the incredible staff. His instructor Teressa is absolutely phenomenal—patient, intuitive, and completely tuned into his unique way of communicating. She’s helped him gain confidence in the water while making sure he feels safe and supported every step of the way.

A special shoutout to Cameron, the lifeguard, who is always alert and attentive—not just to Dominic, but to everyone in the pool. His calm and watchful presence is very reassuring.

I can’t thank smithtown saf t swim enough, I have been swimming here for 6 years and at first I was so nervous because my child would not stop crying. The girls at the front desk really reassured me that I should stick it out and my daughter would be okay. While it was hard to watch, my child did eventually stop crying and now loves swimming. She is working towards swim team and is more confident then when we first started. If it wasn’t for the girls at the front desk taking there time to ease a new mom I don’t know where my child would be in there swimming journey.

Saf t swim is the absolute best. Ori taught my Evan and he swims like a champion. We live on long island and I knew I was going to be taking 3 boys to robert moses. All the money, time, effort was 100% worth it! My boys swim like fish against the waves and I will forever be thankful to Ori and my saf t swim instructors for being so talented and dedicated!!!!! We've been coming here for a long time—prior to this, we were at Goldfish. Safetswim is by far a superior swim school. We are lucky to have two of the kindest and most patient swim instructors, Jack G. and Frankie G. They go above and beyond with my daughter every week. I am forever grateful and thankful for having Oriana as my swim instructor for my special needs child! She put my anxiety at ease with the way she interacted with him as he tended to be belligerent and he took to her like a fish in water! The patience she had and the understanding of him and his feelings were amazing! She taught him for 2 years and am proud to say he is doing fantastic swimming and I have peace of mind. Beyond disgusted with this place. Brought my son here for 4 classes of parent tot. They continuously charged my card although I only signed up for 4 classes. Once I realized I had been charged I attempted to contact them. The representative for the call center informed me it was there error and would be removed, and that I would receive a call back from the smithtown location. Well 5 calls later and weeks of back and fourth they refuse to refund all of their erroneous charges of classes we did not attend and NO ONE from the smithtown of safety swim contacted me and the call center was never able to get in touch with them. Needless to say had to dispute with my CC and will NEVER be going to a safety swim location ever again.

My daughter has been attending Saf-T-Swim for more than 18 months. Due to different instructors no improvement as expected. Every-time there will be some substitutes. No consistency and no progress.

Last-minute cancellations. No proper response from front desk staff. Due to so many substitute instructors they don’t evaluate your child. Continuation in same level for long time. No proper curriculum. All instructors are young. No experienced instructors.

If you don’t track your kids performance or if you don’t ask questions to staff simply the classes will go on for long time and you will loose money.

I recommend private classes and not group. At the end of the day I feel you are going to spend more money for group classes than private classes.

My daughter has been going to Saf-T-Swim for a few years now. She really lucked out with Oriana as her instructor. Oriana is very sweet and patient, but also firm and direct. She does a great job of balancing fun and learning, while always making sure my daughter understands how to be safe. The staff is wonderful and the facility itself is very nice. It’s clean, spacious, with plenty of changing rooms, bathrooms, and two pools with viewing rooms for family members to watch the kids swim. We’ve had such a nice experience here, that we signed my son up this year, as well! He also has a fantastic instructor, Brook. Both Oriana and Brook are amazing teachers!!! Highly recommend!

My son has been attending Saf-T-Swim for 5 months, and he’s already had three different instructors. There’s been no consistency, which has made it hard for him to build confidence or make real progress.

The customer service has been extremely disappointing. Scheduling is disorganized — we’ve had multiple last-minute cancellations or changes with little to no notice. Getting in touch with staff is frustrating; phone calls often go unanswered, and when someone does respond, the communication is vague and unhelpful.

The instructors themselves seem caring, but the lack of structure and poor management make the whole experience stressful and frustrating. We expected better from a swim school that promotes itself so highly.

At this point, I wouldn't recommend Saf-T-Swim to other parents.

My son has been with saf-t-swim for well over a year now. We are always greeted with kindness when we are both coming and going with whomever is working at the desk. (Unfortunately I don’t know their names. It was Dylan there for a while) regardless it’s wonderful to have such positive atmosphere to walk in to. Recently, we were placed with a new swim instructor- Fabrizio. He has been very patient, positive, and interactive with my son. I have noticed improvements with swim lessons in just the short amount of time we have been working with Fabrizio. My son is now very excited about going to swim!

In the early part of 2024, I brought my daughter in to learn how to swim. At the time, my daughter was 5 years old.

I felt Saf-T-Swim was a safe environment, and with group classes, my daughter would socialize more.

First, let me say the people working there are great. They are very helpful and always want to help.

My issue with Saf-T-Swim is how their classes are set up. When you have four kids for one instructor, your child averages about 7 minutes in the water a week. At this rate, it takes a staggeringly long amount of time for your child to progress through the classes. Maybe making the class size smaller or the class time longer would help.

I've withdrawn my daughter from her classes and will explore other avenues.
