Had a couple classes with Trish. She is great and is a helpful instructor for beginners.

Went tonight for a 7pm class and encountered the nastiest receptionist. I used the app to enter and while I was putting my belongings in the locker, the receptionist got upset I didn't check in with her first. She looked at me like I was some vagrant who was trespassing and not a customer who used the app to access. Usually the girls stand at the door to check me in but she wasn't there. Even after I gave my name, she was nasty. I won't be returning to this location.

I have a fever and stomach flu / food poisoning but can’t cancel the class or I’ll lose my credit. The phone goes straight to voicemail. I guess I’ll go die on the reformer and diarrhea everywhere

The door people are incredibly rude. I tried canceling my membership and they make you go through so many steps. It’s a good workout and not worth the money at all. The only redeeming quality are the coaches.

I love this studio and Solidcore in general. Would absolutely recommend Evan and Jaime’s classes, they are SO GREAT. It’s a challenging class for sure but for those new to fitness you can always make adjustments to have more support throughout class. Cannot recommend enough!

This was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with a fitness studio. I booked my spot through ClassPass and arrived only 5 minutes late. The class had just started, but instead of showing any understanding or professionalism, the staff refused to let me join. Their attitude was cold, dismissive, and completely lacking in customer care. Many studios know how to handle situations like this with kindness and flexibility—sadly, this one does not. I left feeling frustrated, unwelcome, and completely let down. If you value respect and basic courtesy as a client, I would not recommend this place.

Took my first class today with Shannon and it was a very welcoming experience. Great instruction and very encouraging / motivated teaching style for first timers. It's a tough but very effective and efficient workout!

Horrible customer service, the two ladies in the reception (one asian and the other blonde) were cold and condescending. Someone needs to qc their hiring system if they don’t want a bunch of highschool girl-clique wannabees running the show and turning customers away

Had an incredibly rude and condescending instructor here a while back (his name was Robert). At that point I’d been to about 20 solidcore classes and wasn’t new. However, it was the first time we used handlebars to do V-up’s (or a similar move) and I had no idea what to do since I didn’t even know the handlebars were adjustable. Before class started I asked for help, only to have the instructor NOT help me, but rather standing in front of my machine and asking me to do it while listening to his instructions.
I couldn’t find the pin (or key?) on the side that would unlock the handlebars. I fumbled for a bit and grabbed the cables next to the handlebar instead (since I could see nothing else I could “remove”). He mocked me and said “who said the cable?” before finally actually helping me locate the pin. I was in utter shock by his rude attitude (not to mention unhelpful behavior).

Love going to bodyrok and all the locations are awesome! The staff are always so friendly and the instructors are all nice. This locations is my go to location and I have always had a good experience! I do enjoy bodyrok more than Solidcore.

Milan is incredible. It was the earliest class and she came in with the best energy. I had never taken her class but she was so welcoming and open that I felt super safe in the class. Can definitely see why she’s a pro coach! Love her!
I feel like Solidcore is super transparent about their class and their approach. It’s definitely not easy but I’ve never seen results this fast with any other workout class.

I have loved solidcore for years but the experience I had in this studio felt worthy of sharing. I took a class on Oct 8th at 3:30 pm with trainer Evan H (won’t put last name for privacy purposes).
I understand solidcore is a tough class and the goal is to push yourself/reach muscle failure etc. But there should not be unnecessary pressure to push ourselves to the point of collapsing and injury. Typically trainers say “we don’t take breaks but if you need to you can take a few seconds to recover at any point”. During this class, Evan was beyond rude and degrading any time I took a 5-10 second pause during the class. He ridiculed me on his mic for “not keeping up” and not holding the pose the entire time.
At one point, I was shaking during a plank and he came over and pushed the reformer out farther (increasing difficulty of the move) and my lower back gave out and I collapsed back. It was only by the grace of God my lower back didn’t tear. This trainer saw I was at my maximum - giving 100% - and intentionally compromised me within an inch of injury.
Anyone who has taken solidcore more than once knows it’s not easy. I’ve taken dozens of classes, and know what I’m signing up for. But I have never felt so uncomfortable in a class and had to share my experience.

I just left this studio, after rushing/making the commute to arrive on time, and was told I wouldn’t be able to attend class as it was showing up unpaid. I was told I used my 2 travel pass classes, which isn’t true and was removed from the class with the late fee “waived”. Nothing ever showed up on my end as this class being unpaid and I booked without any issues, so I’m not sure what the disconnect is but as a solidcore member, I’m extremely disappointed in the experience/service received. I won’t be back nor recommend this studio to anyone. Very unfortunate!

Lots of pilates studios around here and would not recommend this one. Tried to book a class online but wouldn’t work, so went in 30mins early. Their system was still down so offered to pay cash or pay after class- they wouldn’t find a way to make it work no matter the options I offered.
Wish I chose the other studio.
I wasted 45minutes of my time there and missed my workout for today. If management is reading this I highly recommend a customer service upgrade. I’m the last person to complain about anything but this made zero sense.

the music in the class was insanely loud and its possible i incurred permanent hearing damage from it; definitely much louder than any other workout class i've been to in NYC so if you do go i recommend you bring ear plugs. overall the class was definitely a good workout but pretty hard to follow as a beginner who has never been to solid core before

I had my first solid core class 2 days ago and it was honestly the most traumatizing work out class I’ve ever experienced.
to preface this review: I’m not a pilates girl, I don’t have the fittest body but I don’t mind a challenge, as long as I feel supported and SAFE. that first class was none of that. I went in hoping the instructor would explain the board and the multiple weird contraptions but she glossed over it and quickly adjusted my board for me, which was fine, I knew this was gonna be hard and fast. Then when class started I was doing my best to follow along and there came a point when an exercise was a little too difficult for me so I did my best to do it, but was struggling. The instructor (Jaime) gave me no modifications for any difficult exercises and instead physically pushed me to do the exercise which I almost injured myself by nearly face planting because I couldn’t control the board. Afterwards I was so upset and traumatized, I’m pretty sure I pulled a muscle and I vowed to my partner Id never take solidcore ever again, but he said to give it another shot with a different instructor.
So, I come back 2 days later, still sore and traumatized and really unexcited. The instructor ( Evan) really changed my mind about this next class. They explained the board so thoroughly to the new attendees of the class, and they noticed me struggle and helped out with the wires and gave tips and modifications to all the newer people. I was honestly scared of using the board the second time just because of how unsafe I felt the first class, but they really made me feel comfortable this time. It was challenging still, because I was sore and in pain from the last class, but I felt like I had an instructor who cared, which made it enjoyable tbh. I’m not sure if the first instructor was busy with a full class or what but she gave no modifications or support.
Basically, solid core is hard af and having a supportive instructor who takes the time to help you and doesn’t push you to INJURY, makes the whole difference. If I hadn’t switched to another instructor and tried again, I would’ve never tried this workout again. Only giving it a 3 stars for Evan, but if I wrote the review after my first session, it was a 1 star lol.
And also, this place should have more intro classes for everyone so newer attendees can take that intro class first before they dive into the proper sessions, to familiarize themselves with the form and the board. most yoga and pilates studios have frequent intro sessions and require you to take them first before any other session*. Solidcore should REQUIRE that, like this is pilates on crack, why are you letting people take whatever class before a proper intro?
* yes I know they offer intro sessions but they only recommend you take them, and on top of that they have 3 intro sessions a week that are all in the middle of the day, which is when most of us are either at work or busy. so none of the intro sessions worked for my schedule. They should have intro sessions that are shorter and maybe in the mornings or evenings when most people are able to come to the class.

Awful experience, do not recommend! The person at the door didn’t let me take the class because I literally arrived 1min after the start of the class. Was super condescending and almost laughing at my face when sending me away… Avoid at all costs, never coming back when service is this awful.
Update 1 week later: not only did the studio not let me retake the class another time, they also charged me an extra fee for “no show”! Just laughing at how bad the service here is at this point… Save your money and go anywhere else

A+++ fitness experience. Easy to find location with the nicest staff. Booking online was quick and easy. As you walk in, they have lockers to put your stuff and clean restrooms. They make it really easy and welcoming for first timers. The regulars in the class are also very welcoming about form and the flow of class. Will was one of the best class fitness instructors I’ve had in a very long time. Would highly recommend.

The instructor was very rude. There was an issue with my ClassPass account, which I wasn’t aware of. I booked a Solidcore class for grand central but the calendar invite added the wrong location (Chelsea). Which led me to go to the wrong Solidcore location. Mid class she came to me with her microphone very loud telling me that I need to leave, she was acting as if I was trying to steal a workout class or something . (Don’t get me wrong, I understand that I may need to leave if I’m not on the list - since I ended up being in the wrong Solidcore location anyway) but It’s the way she handled it. She was very rude. She kept saying “you need to leave, I don’t know, you need to leave” She didn’t even try to help me figure out what happened. She handled the situation very badly but the lady at the frontdesk was able to help me find the issue of the wrong location on the app. Honestly I may not even get a Solidcore membership anymore cuz of that instructor.

I used to have a membership (loved it at the time) and have since moved so I don’t live close to a solidcore studio anymore. My billing cycle was at the end of the month each month. I tried to cancel before my April billing but was still charged and had to request a refund. Now it’s May and I was charged again. Now they have made the same mistake twice so I’m saying something publicly. If you have your credit card attached to your solidcore account— be vigilant and always check your credit card statements because there’s something scammy going on here

Would not recommend going to this Solidcore location. An employee stole items amounting to $5000 and Solidcore APPARENTLY does not have working cameras (which I do not believe) and has been unhelpful. She still works there. If you do decide to go - do not bring anything, including a phone as that was stolen as well.
