It might be hard to trust a google review but David actually is a great trainer.
When I initially found David, I was hoping to find a trainer who was supportive, insightful and methodical. David is all of these things and I’ve made so much more progress working with him than with anyone else. It still surprises me how many goals David has helped me meet (like pull ups).
I think David is so effective as a trainer because he is impressively observant and excels at optimizing an effective workout strategy for each client while avoiding injuries. I also appreciate that David is very receptive to feedback (solicited or unsolicited) and goes out of his way to make improvements to his studio to best fit the needs of his clients. It’s clear how he genuinely cares about helping his clients.
I’ll stop before I inflate his ego too much but please give David a call and check out Strong by Lee! :)

I have been working with David since this February.
Throughout the training over these months, I am getting much stronger without getting any injuries, which is amazing!!! I highly recommend Strong by Lee if you wanna get in shape or get stronger!!!
Before working with David, I haven’t hit the gym for months due to my lower back pain and wrist injury.
Before our first session, David called me and we have a long discussion about how to do training with the conditions I have. Under his guidance, the strength of my body is getting better and better, and my wrist and lower back condition is also improved. The most important thing about David is he really pays attention to my body response during and after work out to make sure my back and wrist is ok. The workout plans he made also have a lot of varieties and it makes every session so refreshing.
Overall, If you are looking for a fun, detail-oriented , as well as injury-free training , Strong by Lee is definitely the one to pick.

I finally hit a point last year where I needed to make a change for myself. I was facing a lack of motivation, not knowing what exercises to do, not feeling strong, and being in a stagnant state about my body and how I was feeling mentally and emotionally.
I started looking for trainers in the area that were affordable but also for someone willing to help me. Looking around review after review for Strong by Lee was amazing and made me click for more information to see what Dave was all about. My expectations have been met by going to Dave almost consistently for a year. I came into Dave’s barely able to do modified push-ups correctly. As of yesterday, I can do 8 normal push-ups which is a huge accomplishment as I could never do them my entire life. My body I feel strong mentally and physically and can see the small changes in my body.
I have worked with trainers in the past but David has a sense of humor (he thinks he is the funniest), and a way of making every client feel heard and supported to achieve their goals. David has a personality that you feel comfortable and safe at his gym to get in a great workout. In addition to a personalized workout, you also have someone who will listen to you for an hour. I have recommended friends and family to David over the last year and everyone loves him!

I wanted to get back in shape with regular strength training with a personal trainer that would push me in a supportive way. I tried Strong by Lee after reading the great reviews. I am a few months into the journey and boy, was it the best decision. I feel stronger mentally and physically, more energetic and toned. I love the gym because it is completely personal and only used for personal training so you have the place to yourself. There are tons of equipment to mix up the workouts so it never gets boring.
Dave is a wonderful trainer, very encouraging and the hour goes by quickly. Definitely check him out if you live in the area!

Working with David has been a game-changer for me. Despite never liking to work out, I’ve improved my physical fitness because of David’s support and guidance.
I stick with David because I appreciate his expertise and approach. From the first session, it was obvious that David meets his clients at whatever fitness level they’re at, gets a clear understanding of their goals, and tailors their training plan to best meet their abilities and needs—all while providing support and encouragement on their journeys. And as someone with asthma, David's expertise and guidance in supporting my physical fitness has been crucial to my progress. Thanks to his guidance, I've become physically stronger, more active, and more confident in my fitness journey.
What sets David apart is how supportive he is and how much he cares about his clients. If you want to challenge yourself while still receiving the support and guidance necessary to achieve your goals, David is the way to go.

I met David a few years ago at another gym, where he was a personal trainer. I decided to try out one of his group classes and was impressed at his expertise in fitness. When David opened up his own gym, I decided to try my first personal training session for a few reasons: 1. I stopped going to the gym where I first met David. 2. I put on weight and was not feeling good about the way I looked or felt and 3. A close friend of mine trained with him and was seeing great results. Each session with David is unique. He provides a different workout each time catered to my specific needs and goals. He knows when to raise the weight I'm working on, and he makes sure my form is correct. A few times while working out I've felt a pain in my knee and my back and David was able to tell what caused the pain and would explain how to alleviate it. Working out with David has made me feel more confident, made me stronger and each session is fun. I would recommend David if you're looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable in fitness and nutrition, cares about your needs, motivates you, and makes working out fun.

I was very nervous about exercising because I was scared my form was wrong and generally didn’t like going to crowded gyms. So I searched for the next best thing and found Strong By Lee. I chose him because after watching some videos on his website, I thought he was a cool person, and he is. He made working out so much fun. He helped me with my form, learn new exercises to help with my back, and helped me push myself when I felt like giving up on a set. If you’re looking to gain confidence, get strong or even start out. I would 100% recommend this trainer.

David is great! I was struggling with my weight and exercise routine at the time, and David was very supportive. He catered our training sessions to address any physical concerns I had. He was also very open to helping me with my supplement and dietary needs, which I really appreciated.
David's training was super effective, and I was able to do full push-ups and weighted rows earlier than I expected. He was flexible with my work schedule and very open to chatting, which made the training session much more enjoyable! I would recommend David as a personal trainer to anyone starting their fitness journey and hoping to find kind, hard-working coach/companion.

Have been training with David for a few months now for weight loss and strengthening. I’ve lost close to 15lbs since we began and overall just feel a lot better physically. Which was confirmed very recently at my annual physical where all my labs came back perfect - my doctor encouraged me to continue training for continued weight loss and overall muscle building, which I plan to do! Aside from being an excellent trainer (knowledgeable, always checking/correcting form, encouraging), David is just a super lovely human being. Though the work outs are tough, I always feel better after having accomplished them. I recently moved to Harrison but still go to David for my workouts because it’s been a great experience. Highly recommend training at Strong by Lee!

David is THE BEST. I worked with David to get in shape for my wedding. I was looking all over for a good personal trainer and when I landed on David's page, it stood out to me. I reached out to him right away and I'm so glad I did! Every work out we had I was constantly laughing and left feeling so good. I had experience with exercise, but he helped me to realize how strong I am and how much my body could accomplish. Unfortunately our time was cut shory due to me having to move, but I miss him so much. He's so encouraging and kind and down to earth and just an overall great guy. You absolutely won't regret working with him, in fact, you'll be missing out of you don't!

I think it’s finaLEE time I write a review. I have worked with David for around a year now and I couldn’t recommend him enough as a personal trainer. Working out 2-3 times a week is something I really look forward to because of how fun (and funny) he makes the exercises. I went from having little muscle mass to being proud to rock a tank top almost every day of this past summer. David makes sure that every session is intense and focused on a specific muscle group all while maintaining a comfortable pace thats tailored to me. Moreover, his sessions never feel repetitive as he is always upgrading his private studio with state-of-the-art gym equipment which has allowed me to perform exercises I wouldn’t be able to perform as effectively elsewhere. As someone who was simply looking for a way to hold myself accountable to workout, I now no longer need to as David has taught me how to love working out and has instilled in me a sense of self motivation to improve my body that I had never had before in my life. Most importantly, David has become more than just a trainer to me, but a great friend who I look forward to having conversations with every week!

David was exactly what I needed to kickstart my fitness journey. My goal was to establish a consistent workout routine, and his flexible approach accommodated my busy work schedule. He stood out to me due to his expertise and super FUNNY personality.
Each workout was unique and his explanations behind different movements impressed me. He not only kept the workouts interesting but also helped me maintain consistency. As a result, I’ve become stronger and feel a sense of accomplishment after every session.
I wholeheartedly recommend David to anyone seeking personalized fitness guidance. Whether you’re a beginner or striving for specific goals, his coaching is both effective and enjoyable.

Working with David was one of the best decisions I made! Never been at a gym before and never worked with a personal trainer. I needed specific help with rebuilding my core (detached abdomen wall). He is excellent at his job! My time was/is very limited due to a busy schedule but after a couple of months of working out I started to see the results and was convinced he knows what he is doing! I highly recommend Strong by Lee and their services!

We’ve trained before together briefly in another gym. I always appreciate your style/approach of training, and there’s some on Orthodox methods that you used that I saw getting people results. My challenges were wanting to stay more consistent and doubling down rather tripling down on my self again I thought your methodology method, the Ology an experience would really jive well with me.
One of the biggest reasons I chose your services is because you have a private gym. I prefer that because I have access to every piece of equipment in the gym rather than a commercial/big box space. Especially if I’m trying to focus on specific things. I’m not saying that all commercial gyms Are difficult to work efficiently within them. I prefer smaller settings. I think you have a really good rapport with people and you’re able to get individuals to focus on the goal.
I’ve definitely created a solid foundation level of overall strength in 3 main areas of the Squat, Bench & Deadlift. We discussed creating standards I wanted to hit. Lastly, you were able to work with old injuries and navigate around them to get to the goals.
I believe that everyone can benefit from getting in shape and taking care of themselves. Specifically becoming stronger and being an able-bodied human. Especially people in my age group of 50 and over.
I paused training in this summer to enjoy the outdoors and spend time with family, but I am on my way back as I missed training. That’s become part of my daily/weekly routine.

I needed more motivation at the gym and David and Adrian are the perfect coaches for it! Their sense of humor and passion towards each client is easily noticed. Within a short time, I was able to reach my goals. In my opinion, they can work with all ages, especially when there is a goal to work towards too. I love the intimacy of the gym as well.

I used to run/train and think of myself as an athlete but I wasn't seeing the results the way I wanted. I knew I had potential but I needed someone to push me to my limits. I tried a couple trainers but their methodology was more around Circuit Training and more Cardio. I knew I needed something more.
I worked out at NY Sports Club in White Plains and I saw David training others, he used heavy weights and low reps which in my mind seemed counterintuitive to losing weight. But then I saw results in his clients. I remember one of his clients was ripped and was a girl. I said to myself, that's what I want.
David pushed me into thinking differently and not just about working out, but my diet, nutrition - what foods to put in my body and when! Having a trainer look at the whole person rather than just when we are together makes him sooo good!

As an athlete, I initially engaged the services of David as a personal trainer in order to enhance my strength and reduce body fat during my off seasons for wrestling. Throughout our time working together, it became evident that David possessed a deep understanding of my objectives and was able to tailor my workouts accordingly in order to achieve my goals in a safe and efficient manner.
As my priorities shifted to prioritize overall health and wellness, I sought to develop a more toned and defined physique. David was instrumental in helping me reach my target weight of 200 pounds at a body fat percentage below 10%. His expertise extended beyond workouts alone, as he also provided guidance on implementing healthy habits to maintain my fitness. Overall, I found David's approach to be highly personalized and effective in helping me achieve my goals. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking to improve their physical condition and overall well-being.

David is not only a great physical trainer & nutrionist, but he is also a genuinely great human being.
Before I reached out to David, I was getting bored of my at-home workouts and felt like I was stuck at a plateau for a long period of time. I wanted to get fresh, new, varied exercises and a brand new challenge. I also wanted someone to help me stay accountable to my goal of all-around better health. David has been able to help me with all of the above.
I found David through my wife, who had the opportunity to work out with him years ago when she worked nearby and her schedule allowed. She always had positive things to say about him and experienced great results through training with him. She also said he was unwaveringly professional, kind, and respectful. When I told her I was considering working with a trainer, she mentioned him immediately.
After contacting him, I was impressed that he took a very consultative approach and heard me out in terms of where I was, where I had been, and where I wanted to go. He also helped me work around an injury I had, allowing me to build up needed strength and flexibility before a surgery and build back up again after surgery, as soon as I was able to. I never felt unsafe with the exercises David put me through both then or now, but all the while I definitely felt appropriately challenged for where i was at (and still do today as I builld back up).
I have been fortunate to actively train with David consistently over the last two years and continue to now. I now consider him not only a great trainer/coach, but also a friend.
I think anyone could benefit from having the opportunity to train with David if they are looking for someone that a) truly listens to what they are trying to achieve and experience, b) caters a plan that works for them specifically, c) cares about them on a human level and their progress, and d) brings great humor and levity for which I am personally very grateful for.

Using a cane, I hobbled into my first training session with David at the recommendation of my cardiologist. I was 77 years old and fearful that I would not be up to such a late-life challenge. I doubted that this young Asian man would understand my age-related physical changes or my fear of falling. I was, however, surprised to find David to be personally engaging and finely tuned into what my body and mind were ready for with each session. He provided just the right amount of structured routine that I can do on my own, but always adds a final push out of my comfort zone. Because of the strength, endurance, and balance I’ve gained over the past year and a half, my cane is gathering a lot of dust. Maybe it’s his wit or his ongoing conversations from silly to serious or his infectiously motivating spirit that makes working out time fly, but I enthusiastically highly recommend David.

Before working with David I was a complete novice in a gym. I reached out to him after reading many good reviews which turned out to be well earned, after a short phone call and a trial session I was hooked. David is great at explaining the lifts and selecting the perfect weight for the number of reps. Having seen him work with a few other people he really can help anybody regardless of skill plus this gym has everything!

I came to David without much workout knowledge and experience. I tried some diet / workouts I found on YouTube for 2 months but was not seeing results I wanted in terms of strength. This is what made me reach out to a personal trainer and I immediately knew I would go with David when we had a long, detailed phone call covering nutrition and workout routine even before I hired him! When I started working with David, I would send him my weekly diet plan and he would make recommendations. I specifically remember him saying there was not enough carbs at one point and how making that adjustment gave me so much more energy. Within the gym, my main goal was getting knowledge and proper technique and David is not only an experienced lifter but a great teacher. To add to this, he has a bubbly personality making the workout fun. He exceeded all my exceptions and the three months spent with him were well-worth it. I’d recommend him for anyone, but especially if you are just starting out as he is a great asset.

I met David at the Fusion House in White Plains, which is a gym that has a mix of small group workout classes and/or personal training sessions. David personally trained my best friend. She instantly had good feedback after her first session and said he was very professional, knowledgeable, and was invested in helping achieve her fitness goals. After this feedback, I was eager to try out his group workout classes. My goal for each training session is to increase my weight and that is exactly what David’s class consist of. Although there were six other women in this class, David instantly knew how much weight each person can take and how much weight he can increase each round. He provided clear instructions for each workout and monitored everyone’s form. After this experience, I requested a personal training session with David and never looked back. During all workout sessions, he always changes up the workouts, makes it fun, and pushes me to my limit, which has positively impacted my overall mental and physical health. I think David’s services can help anyone who is serious about their fitness journey. He takes the time to understand your history, asks questions, and creates a fitness program tailored to your needs.

It was absolutely an amazing experience getting to work with David. Before starting, he and I discussed what my goals were for these sessions - strength and endurance. He then customized all the workouts to meet these goals. I also appreciated how accommodating and flexible he was to my schedules. As I could only have one session per week, he sent daily circuits that I could easily do at my home gym to see the best results. Although I only had a month to work with him, I saw how much endurance I built. David, as he is also a dietician, helped me to adjust my meals so I could build more muscle mass, but made sure they were doable meal plans. Overall, he’s an awesome PT that I would highly recommend to anyone regardless of how much workout experience they had in the past.

I've been training for the past 8+ years! Prior to meeting Dave I had a general concept of strength training and "working out" but was completely novice to what was suitable for my body and my genetics. I was training according to the magazines and started getting quite muscular. David said we need to tone down those traps chica! :) And that's when our journey began! David is full of industry-led, tested and tried, fitness knowledge. He's been at this for many years. He's also a registered dietitian which helped me in my food journey. A workout with David is never devoid of encouragement, pushing and challenging your strength, thoughtful conversations and a good laugh. My fitness journey ebbs and flows depending on the times and my goals. However, because of my fitness journey with David and all the knowledge he imparts, I know what to do to jump on the bandwagon at any time. David's services suits anyone - regardless of gender, age group or past injuries - seeking to learn about fitness, get in shape, get stronger, "look good", push and be wowed by how strong your body is! But you have to be ready to work ;-)

Coming fresh off of my first marathon at 55 years old, I wanted to shift my focus from endurance to getting stronger and building more muscle. My goals were: physical performance, mental health, and confidence.
I really wasn't doing much research, because I figured I'd do it on my own. After all, I consider myself a driven, ambitious, and self-sufficient go-getter, and was lifting weights before meeting Dave.
I met Dave through a referral from a mutual acquaintance. We sat down together, because that's my style - I like getting to know people. He seemed like a genuine guy with a unique history, so I thought, "why not?" He was also amicable to early morning appointments, which is important to me because I'm an early rising entrepreneur.
I was impressed during our first session. As someone who runs a busy community healthcare center that has physical therapy and doctors, I thought Dave's knowledge of the human body was insightful and practical. It's clear he has taken his education and worked hard to apply in the fitness setting.
I take my health seriously, but understand the limitations of time and energy - I didn't have enough and I wanted more. I thought hiring Dave could help me.
One thing I didn't count on was his ability to help me address knee soreness, posture, and an imbalance in my shoulders as a result of rotator cuff injuries.
As we were working together, he explained to me in easy-to-digest ways why I was doing a particular exercise. I appreciated this because I tend to be analytical and like tracking progress without getting bogged down with details.
I also realized the importance of making adjustments based on how I'm feeling. We worked out at 6AM, and some days I felt less energetic and stronger than others. Dave took this into account and made adjustments to still allow me to feel powerful and confident. In turn, this allowed me to feel like I made great use of my time, which gave me more energy for the day.
In my opinion, Dave is a commensurate professional. Well-spoken, compassionate, knowledgeable, and most importantly, passionate about what he does. He's more than just someone who TELLS you what to do; he empowers you to do it for yourself.
One of my life's mission is to empower women, so I appreciated being able to work with someone who is also passionate about what they do.
Looking for a coach who is as invested in your fitness success, maybe even more, than you are? Look no further than Dave. He's your guy.

As a surgeon who is over 50 years old, I need endurance, strength, and focus in order to do my job as effectively as possible. I stand a lot, use my arms, and must maintain a certain position for extended periods of time in the operati9ng room. I also did various sports in high school and follow certain sports, so I enjoy the aspect of training, exercise, and conditioning.
Before training with David, I have worked with other trainers with varying results and styles. Even now, my goal is to be as fit as possible as I get older, knowing it doesn’t get any easier. With all of the competing demands of time and energy, even I find it difficult to make it into the gym on my own, hence why I continue to utilize trainers.
After my previous trainer moved, I wanted to ensure my follow-up trainer would continue to support me in keeping up my fitness. In the gym I had seen David and seemed like a natural choice to be my next trainer.
David places a great emphasis on physical strength and conditioning that leads to body composition changes. I have worked with trainers in the past who focused on high-intensity and bodybuilding regimes, so this shift was different. And being as competitive as I am, I enjoyed the additional challenge of trying to improve on my previous performances.
Through David’s coaching, I am able to do at least 10 unassisted chin-ups and deadlift over 300 pounds, all while staying injury-free. I am very satisfied with the strength of my legs, which is important because I ruptured my Achilles tendon years ago, and it's important not to re-injure myself in any way.
As for energy, I always feel better leaving than when I came in, and find I feel better at work and at home when I train. At this point, I just can’t see myself not training on a regular basis.
As someone who has worked with several different trainers, I highly recommend David to anyone who is serious about making changes to their health, fitness, and body. His approach is well-rounded and individualized. The way he coaches motivates you to work harder, and I am have seen that from his other clients, too.
One important caveat: he asks a lot of questions and answers questions with more questions. Of course, that's just his style and many of those questions are geared towards helping you.

Before working with David, I had worked with several trainers in efforts of losing weight, controlling my diabetes, getting healthier, and improving my golf game.
I was also suffering from some orthopedic issues, such as a previous knee surgery, a painful left shoulder, and back spasms.
To me, fitness is not something I naturally enjoy doing. While I love golfing, I see fitness as more of a necessary thing to do so my health doesn’t get out of control.
I think David does many things well, but there are a few things he does really well. One, while he has a great understanding of how the body works, he takes care not to overwhelm you with education and knowledge. I’m a guy in his 50’s who doesn’t do research on any of this stuff, so I appreciate his approach.
Two, he ensures the program is personalized to you, and crafts each exercise to meet your level and goals. There have been times when I wasn’t feeling my best, but he made a few modifications to still help me feel great after I was done. He is very helpful in giving suggestions on things to do on days we are not training together.
Three, he’s motivating. Like me, he understands fitness isn’t always easy nor fun. He is engaging, occasionally makes funny jokes, and does his best to relate to his clients so he doesn’t seem like a robot.
As a result of our work together, the pain in my left shoulder disappeared after a few weeks of training. I’ve been battling this pain for years, and it would often negatively impact my golf game. He explained to me with clarity why I was having pain and how we were able to manage it. This is huge because I love golf.
My back gets tense far less frequently. Whereas I would get nervous about playing a full round of golf two days in a row, I can occasionally knock out a full round of golf four days in a row without my back, knee, or shoulder giving me any issues.
I also have a much better understanding of nutrition. I have a history of kidney cancer, and want to do my best to avoid a recurrence or letting my health decline faster, especially since now that I’m a grandfather of twins.
It’s also pretty cool to see myself improve in various aspects of fitness, whether it’s my strength, better blood sugar control, better golf game, and being to get down on the ground to play with my grandchildren!
I am now able to do 30 straight push-ups, 5 unassisted chin-ups, a 300 pound deadlift, Bulgarian split squats (hate these), and farmer carries with 90 pounds in each hand. Not too bad for someone in his late 50’s.
David has my highest recommendations. If you’re looking for a trainer who cares about your results, takes into account your injuries, fitness levels, and even outlook on fitness, reach out to David. He’ll make sure you see the results you’re looking for and keep you entertained in the process.

I came to Lee about one year ago looking to get my leg muscles stronger and to, therefore, alleviate some enduring knee pain I was experiencing. It never crossed my mind that I would need a trainer given I've been an athlete all my life and not only am I in the healthcare field, I'm in the fitness industry as well. I came to learn that some of us in the fitness industry hold this erroneous assumption of not needing a trainer since we are a personal or group trainer already. However, Lee showed me the way lol not only did he prove me wrong; truth be told, I admit, we all need personal trainers including the weak, the strong, the fast, the slow, the young and the old. Lee helped me strengthen my legs which alleviated my pain but also built my arms and back! He is the best there is, leaving you sore for days (In a good way 💪😩), he knows when to push you and when to not! He really listens to understand, educate, helps you build a connection between your physical, mental and emotional health. All that, while making you stronger w/RDLs, OHPs, SLDL, chin ups, OMG and so much more..Made me stronger one sweat session at a time 😅. Oh yea, he is funny too 😂😂. I appreciate you Lee!

I was struggling to get going in the mornings and had no routine. I often had take out or junk food, and had a very loose definition of working out. My eating and minimal exercise 2 or 3 times a week were not helping me feel better about letting myself go a few suit sizes.
I always knew that a fitness coach would be good for me, but I was skeptical about actually seeing results.
David and I created a plan together that would help me feel better and look my best. Challenging myself with a morning schedule kept me accountable and helped me feel better. Putting the work into our time together helped me get much stronger. Watching my food intake helped me look great. And the results that I saw (and felt) bred confidence. I had a suit taken in TWICE over our three-month plan!
I learned a lot while working with David. He helped me find a sustainable routine that included strength training, fat burn, conditioning, and nutrition. Knowledge and awareness were the most valuable takeaways.
If you want to get stronger, feel great, and look great - David is a fantastic coach who will help you find and meet your goals. Hands down the best!

I am a 60 year old attorney and father of three girls. My goal is to remain active and competitive in athletics (primarily tennis and basketball), so I wanted to find a balance between pricing for private training and group classes.
I have experience with large group classes, and because I know how those generally function, I wanted to see if there was something a bit more personalized for a master’s athlete like myself.
After playing basketball with David and speaking to him, I decided to treat myself to a four month trial.
As a result of our work together, I have gotten stronger which has helped me to continue to play sports competitively. I work much harder than I would in a group class and use much heavier weights.
I am more informed on what aspects of my body I need to improve upon to achieve my goals. For example, I never previously focused on my lower body and simply assumed that since I played sports so frequently, that my legs would get stronger. I was also very surprised at how good of a workout I could get simply by lifting.
I highly recommend David because I believe that he cares about his clients and sincerely wants them to improve and achieve their goals.

Before I started working out with David I was so unmotivated to work out and go to the gym, I only did cardio and that was it because I felt I never had the strength to do anything else and also it was intimidating watching other people do weight lifting but with his help I felt more confident working out and learning new workouts and he pushed me to doing stuff I never thought I could possible do and I actually enjoyed working out and looked forward to the group classes which are super fun ( must have a good sense of humor lol) and very hard but in a good way also working out with other people it was very motivating. He makes you feel like you’ve known him forever. His passion and professionalism are great you can really tell that he cares about his clients and wants to make them more confident and stronger. For anyone who feels unmotivated and wants to become healthier and stronger then he is the guy! Miss you David! :)

Before meeting David, life was pretty good. At 55 years old, I was very active - pick-up basketball, hockey, volleyball, and spin. While I was never an athlete by design and growing up, I really enjoy the competitive nature of sports, as well as the social aspects. I was not involved in any resistance training program.
Despite my heavy activity load, I still wanted to lose some extra weight. I also have a torn right meniscus. I felt both my weight and knee issues were slowing me down, so wanted to give weight training a shot. That’s when I started working with David.
As of this review, I have been working with David for about a year and half. Since then, I’ve gone from doing NO push-ups to 20.
From barely being able to hang from a bar to doing almost 10 unassisted pull-ups.
As a result of the personalized lower body approach, the right knee feels GOOD. I’m faster on my feet, stronger, and more confident about moving around, which is important because I am also an actor and musician. I still feel a bit of tightness, but not anywhere near where it used to be, and considering I’m petrified of needles, I want to avoid surgery at all costs.
Lastly for the sake of this review, I’m maintaining a 15-20 pounds weight loss, which is fantastic because I want to look good for my fans.
The fact that I’m stronger, faster, look better, and more resilient makes my investment very worthwhile.
David isn’t just a trainer, though. He isn’t someone you go to just to lose weight. He is totally invested in your betterment and improvement, to the point where he is annoying. He always checks in on you when you’re not at the gym, recognizes you, and is an all-around good dude. But that’s probably why I vouch for him 100% and recommend anyone who is serious about improving their health, fitness, and body to go to him.
Make sure to tell him Ken sent you – he might be a bit nicer to me.

My fitness journey started four years ago when I met David Lee. From that moment, Dave showed me the world of physical and mental health and I will be forever grateful for his guidance. Around that time I was a 115 pound 16 year old who was very timid and had little to no confidence in himself. All I really wanted to do was improve my game on the baseball field by lifting in the offseason and training with David. Little did I know at the time that David was going to impact my life in a bigger way.
With David, you are going to achieve physical strength. The man truly is intelligent and a master of his craft. He will listen to you attentively and lead you to new heights you thought were not possible to reach. But what sets him apart from the rest is the lessons and teachings you learn through training with him. I said in the beginning that David introduced me to the world of physical and MENTAL health. I discovered a newfound confidence in myself. My shirts started to fit better. I started to walk with my head high.
Flash forward four years and I am about to start my senior year of college. I no longer play baseball, I’m finishing up my first internship, I am now 170 pounds. A lot has changed in those four years but what hasn’t is the impact that David has had on my life. This is because the biggest impact training with David had in my life was that he taught me to always stay hungry. Stay hungry, stay on the hunt, and never settle or be satisfied where I am. This mindset not only help transform my body but also always reminded me that the greatest things that happen lies outside my comfort zone. Every single say I continue to get stronger physically and mentally and I connect everything back to the moment I met David.
That’s because with Dave, what you see is what you are going to get. There is no “persona.” He is not going to act like someone he is not. Instead, by training with David, what you will get is a trainer, teacher, workhorse, mentor, philosopher, and a genuine friend who will work his hardest to guide you to reach new heights every day.

I was very skeptic that working out with a personal trainer would change my physique afterall I have pass my 50s awhile ago. Nevertheless with one month of intense training (3X week) David proved otherwise. I could see my muscles being defined and was grateful I took a shot on this journey. Believe me, David makes the "pain" and workout a fun time. His knowledge about nutrition and working out was beyond my expectations. He is the guy who give us all physical training, diet plans, tips and thoughts to digest throughout this transformation process.

When I first started working with David my main goal was to start the new school year closer to my pre-pregnancy weight. While this progress was clear and measurable I think my most important progress has been in how I look at myself. I have never seriously lifted weights before and I was surprised and motivated by my developing physical strength. Through this journey I’ve gained a greater appreciation for my body, I no longer react to my image in the mirror with discontent about a pregnancy stretched stomach, but with appreciation- My body is stronger than I have ever given it credit for- not only did it give me two beautiful babies, but I am impressed each day I train with each rep, or set that I complete, or chin up that I never imagined I could do.

Before working out with David, I felt like I didn’t know what I was doing in a gym. I would follow instructions on equipment machines and would ultimately only have confidence operating the treadmill or the ellipticals. Working full time and being a mom, I have prioritized my needs last. Yet, I knew that I had to exercise for my sake and for the sake of my young children, to become stronger. Recurring back aches added to the sense of urgency, as I knew I’ve got to improve my core strength.
I was happy to see progress in a short month of working with David, I already feel stronger. I can get up from bed in the mornings more easily than before, and that’s not insignificant. Before working out, I felt like a big beetle bug from Kafka’s Metamorphosis (do you remember reading it in high school?), stuck on its back because it was so sore and stiff, unable to move anywhere. Now I have enough core strength to get up more easily and start my day well.
I am proud of the progress I made in push-ups and lifting individual weights. I also feel more confident working out. Thank you, David!
I could easily recommend David to working moms like me, juggling work and family and health.

I am working out with David for more than 3 years. In the last year - at least twice a week when I don't travel. I was very inconsistent before working with David. Having done several rounds of P90X prior (but with large gaps in between rounds, which meant loss of muscle mass and overall fitness), I wasn't sure a personal trainer would actually be any better, but I was TOTALLY wrong. I definitely didn't know what is the right and safe form for many exercises. David has taught me that and he has a unique way to build excitement and make me feel rewarded when I workout with him. It's hard, but it's a lot of fun too :-) In the past few months we are focusing on an ongoing knee pain (off and mostly ON for almost 6 years). He has helped me build more strength in my leg, glutes, back and I can lift more, keep much better form, and have much less pain. I know it's a journey, but it has been years since I have this level of reduction in pain combined with increase in my performance. I think David is the best fit for people who do workout (not starting from zero), but can't be consistent or don't know enough about what is the right thing for them to do to address their goals, be it weight loss, muscle growth or just being more agile and strong without adding bulk. "Strong by Lee" is literally that!

I’ve been an athlete since youth, playing basketball at a competitive level through high school and picking up track toward my senior year. Working out and exercise became part of everyday life. When I entered college, I shifted my training style to focus on my physique vs my athleticism. I adjusted my weight training, cardio, etc. I’ve always been in pretty good shape overall.
I didn’t have any hesitations when it came to working with David. I trust his expertise, and know it’s important to shake things up. Staying motivated was starting to feel challenging, and I know David would be able to hold me accountable and ensure I don’t plateau, etc. Plus, his workouts foster an overall transformation — physically, mentally. You develop literal strength, while also training your mind to be resilient. We are a lot stronger than we think and half the battle is mental, anyway.
I’m very happy with what I’ve been able to take away from training with David. I look, feel and think so much better. Consistency isn’t an issue. I feel back on track and my physical transformation is exactly what I wanted to improve.
If you want someone who is genuine about your betterment and wants to see you improve just as much as you want to improve — in all aspects of life, David’s your guy.

I'm not the type to go to the gym. i prefer more social sports. however after having my appendix removed and being in pain for 8 months (which the doctors could not explain), my wife convinced me to try exercising to see if it helps. well, it did! david's knowledge of nutrition and human anatomy is top notch. his personal sessions are challenging, yet fun thanks to his outgoing and entertaining personality. his small group sessions are not only a great exercise, but also a fun time with a wonderful group of non-judging people.
i'm not a fan of working out. it's hard stuff. but the fun in david's classes far outweigh the challenge. be open minded, give it a try, i did and now i look forward to "going to the gym"

Before starting to train with David Lee I was not following a program at all. I was just doing random workouts that allowed me to maintain the muscle I had but was not seeing any more changes. I was a little hesitant at first to not have the disciple to eat properly for the training to work. Having a trainer is an investment so I wanted to make sure I would be disciplined. During the time I trained with David I learned how to eat more balanced meals for my training to work more effectively. I thought eating healthier would be too hard but with David’s tips slowly I started to take conscious of what my body needed. For me loosing belly fat was a big change. Though I was not fat I was able to reduce my belly fat significantly. I couldn’t believe it once I took my progress picture. In general, my body started looking slimmer and leaner which is what I wanted since I’m only 4’11. I loved my results so much that for the first time I started wearing just my sport’s bra to work out. In the past I had never worked on my upper body because you know why would a girl do that? David changed the perception of that and with the training my upper body was now matching my lower body. Something simple as being strong enough to do pull-ups was the highlight of training session. I recommend David to anyone who wants to really make a change or even someone who thinks won’t have the disciple. Trust me, part of what makes him an amazing trainer is the ability to teach people why a healthier body is important and why we should take care of our body. Our body is what allows us to get to school, work, play with your children, and many more things so why not take care of it?

I have been working with David for about 3 months. While I do Pilates and yoga regularly, I knew that I needed strength training added to my routine. I also needed a stress outlet. After watching a friend work with David, I decided to give it a try. We are strengthening my hamstrings and my back has never felt better. Feeling stronger already! I also like that he includes some nutrition advice. If you are looking for a trainer, I highly recommend Dave Lee!!

I was fresh out of high school, 18 years old, working a part time job at the gym. No real guidance toward the future, just knew I liked to stay fit. Worked hard toward my fitness goals but had no idea if I was making any real progress. Eventually meeting and training with David guided me to real progress both in fitness and my personal life.
I used to workout with a boxing coach and another personal trainer at the gym. Instead of actually seeing results I was injured and felt sick. I wasn’t taken serious. They were more focused on the time then the actual client.
My goals were unclear when I started working out with David. All I wanted was abs, and to be defined like the people on Instagram. With time and hard work, I achieved an increase in strength, confidence, and knowledge of fitness and nutritional guidance.
I ran a 5K, lifted heavier then I ever could on my own, and had all the confidence in the world. Matured mentally with David’s mentoring.
If your scared of committing, don’t be. David lee is more then a personal trainer, he’s a mentor, Registered dietitian, and a friend. He will sit down and take the time to help you in every possible way he can.

I'll be the first to admit I know my way around a gym. I've worked with personal trainers in the past and have since taken their knowledge and learned how to apply things myself, so I consider myself a go-getter. David and I first met when I was working out on my own at New York Sports Clubs in White Plains. We just casually shot the breeze and connected.
My goals at the time were to get stronger, improve my run times, get rid of a nagging hip issue that came about because of muscular imbalances, and generally feel better about myself. I knew I wanted a trainer, because as much I know how to work on my own, the push you get from a good trainer is something you can't create your own.
I also wasn’t seeing the results I wanted from the effort I was putting in, which I knew could have used a revamp.
I knew getting a trainer would be good for me, but I didn’t know if I wanted to invest my money because I’ve had both good and bad experiences in the past. Not to mention I had just lost my job and was looking for a new position. But I knew from a mental standpoint, I needed it because I enjoyed training so much, and wanted to get the most out of it. So then there was the money… but I bit the bullet and started working with David.
Shortly after, a huge thing I realized was that “not all trainers are created equal”. I’ve worked with my fair share of trainers, and working with David made me realize there’s a level of professionalism not all trainers share. That is, while David cares about his training, he cares even MORE about his clients’ training. He has a deep and profound level of respect and care for his clients, and it shows in the way he presents himself, speaks to his clients, and even in his body language during his coaching sessions.
I believe the way he works with clients has a lasting impact on motivation levels. I looked forward to our training sessions because he empowered me to do the best I can, and the results showed.
As a result of our work together, my hormones began to stabilize. No longer do I have an inactive thyroid, and my hormones are finally normal and stable. And in 6 months, I lost 17 pounds of FAT. I'm as lean as I was when I weighed 115 and I'm now 130ish. I wear clothes from when I was 23 and only did ‘cardio’ and ran.
I used to have a pretty severe negative relationship with food. Although that's not going away anytime soon, I feel now my nutrition is more on point and I finally have a healthier relationship with food, and I've stopped starving myself to have balance.
My mental strength has grown substantially. I've trained with David facing huge life events including: moving out into my own house detaching from my negative family situation, getting laid off, getting divorced. Training with David has given me so much mental strength and also relief to be able to function on a day to day basis. As I mentioned, David has made me realize I’m stronger than the bullcrap life has thrown at me.
Most importantly, I have respect for my body and what it can do as well as its limitations. Never thought in a million years that I would be lifting the way I am. Other people believe my strength is incredible. At 130 pounds, I can lift almost 300 pounds off the ground and can perform chin-ups and push-ups without any assistance.
One thing that David does well is his ability to keep it light despite the serious nature of training. Hard, intense, results-producing training isn’t fun. However, David tries to keep you engaged and entertained, which is crucial for me because work is mentally draining and I often find myself exhausted. The last thing I want is a trainer who just tells me what to do and stands on the sidelines with his hands in his pockets, just counting and staring at me.
David has been a tremendous investment. Training with David gives me a lot of happiness, which is necessary. It's my time to focus on me and build resilience.
Looking back, I see it's been such an amazing journey to see, and it's very satisfying to know I'm getting results for the work that I am putting in.

Before I started working with David life was good, but I wanted it to be better. Being a trainer myself, I had a regiment and having a nutrition coaching back-round, I had some understanding of nutrition. But like everyone else, I had a bunch of goals that was important for me to meet. I had just joined a competition in my fight gym to lose as much body fat mass as possible in 4 weeks. This being the kickoff to my own personal challenge of getting ripped in 3 months, was extremely important for me not only for my own personal achievement, but to show my clients that I can both “talk the talk” and “walk the walk”. I also wanted to show it was achievable with a reasonable effort.
Originally I was always skeptical that because I seemed to always be in a financial rut, I wouldn’t be able to afford enough protein to actually build muscle. Being 189 lbs at the time I was looking at 170 to 190gs of protein per day. When I started working with David I found that It was surprisingly more than manageable.
During our time together, In 1 month I lost about 4 Lbs and dropped 2.4% body, going from 11.5% to 9.1.%. I also lost approximately 2 inches on my waist and gain a little more than a half a pound of muscle, going from 95.7 lbs of muscle mass to 96.3. This feat is usually extremely difficult to do for someone who is already lean who has been training for over 10 years. The fact that I was able to cut a considerable amount of fat and still gain muscle with minimal effort is a testament to David’s perfection of his craft.
My life has undoubtedly changed for the better. Not only do I look better and have gained strength, but I have another way to approach my training because of David’s help. My friends, coworkers and family have all noticed my fat loss. Through Davids coaching I was able to stay on track and ultimately crush my own goals. I have been motivated to keep going with it and see how just far I can go!
I would recommend David lee to anyone who had a fitness goal. Even if you're a fitness professional with experience in fitness and nutrition already. Davids can tailor fantastic results to virtually anyone. David can give you the whole package, from zero-ing in on your nutrition needs to providing an effective science backed program to coaching you through every step of the way, night or day. Not only does he care about your results, but he cares about making you feel good about how you get there. Being strong by lee is being strong within yourself and making the choice to be better.

I was a member of large gym chain for over 10 years. For the majority of my workout career I primarily was a cardio queen since I was too afraid to attempt to lift weights and hurt myself. As I learned a little more about exercise I realized that I needed to start doing some weight training classes. I started out with taking group exercise classes like boot camps, cross fit training, and body pump. I even paid extra to take small group training sessions. I saw minimal changes to my body. Most girls goals were to lose weight but mine was quite the opposite. I wanted to gain weight and strength the healthy way. I needed to accomplish this goal for my personal and professional life. I would express that to trainers and they would assure me that they were helping me obtain goals. However, they were not. In my quest to make changes I came across David, and after our first meeting I left feeling like he understood my goal. Right away David started an individualized plan to help me obtain my goals in a progressive manner. He also sat down with me to help design my diet around my work hours and food allergies.
David not only trains you but he educates you and THAT’S what puts him above any other trainer. David educates you on the proper form and what specific muscles you should be activating while giving tactile cues to the muscle. Additionally, David educates you on how your diet and what you put in your body effects the performance you give in the workout. Being in the medical field the education and knowledge David shares is invaluable.
I started to see results after just one month I saw results in my strength through functional things I would do on a daily basis at work. Now 3+ years into the training I see dramatic changes and receive comments from my friends and family. I have gained weight and even went up a pants size and never felt better in my life. I am now physically and mentally stronger in both my personal and professional life. Now at my job when I lift and assist patient’s in the hospital they are always surprised that a “little thing” like me could be so strong. It’s a great feeling. My friends and family tell me that I look the best I have in my life. I myself feel that I am the most athletic and strongest I have ever been.
David is invested in his clients and that investment holds you accountable for your goals. He supports you through all the ups and downs of your training and personal life. I recommend him to my family, friends, and all people looking to make a TRUE LONGLASTING LIFESTYLE CHANGE!!!

For almost a full year, I kept up a regimen of bodyweight exercises in my basement. While I noticed certain small improvements in physique and strength, it was clear that to move beyond the initial plateau, I needed to do more.
I originally met Dave through my wife Meredith, who began training with him at NYSC. I was opposed to membership commitment and stayed on the sidelines until he struck out on his own early last year. Once Dave started offering sessions at the Zone and later Elite Fitness, I knew the time was right to explore firsthand whether personal training was worth the hype.
My goals were (and continue to be) oriented towards total body improvement and functional strength. I was looking to improve in several areas, particularly flexibility, balance and core support. Building muscle was also on the agenda, but more as a by-product of advancing my overall level of fitness.
At the beginning, my stamina was constantly holding me up and it took a decent amount of time (and patience!) to withstand and then excel at the exercises I was learning throughout. But Dave's unique blend of attentiveness, humor and empathy hooked me from the beginning. After only a few short weeks, I noticed I was looking forward to our sessions - even knowing that they would be difficult. Each time, I would emerge from the workout, sweat-drenched and exhausted, but also undeniably victorious.
The results I experienced with Dave were nothing short of extraordinary. Gradually expanding my capabilities, from regular squats to 205 lbs with the safety bar or bench-pressing 70 lb dumbbells in each hand, has led to a new realm of fitness activity. In less than a year, my progress exceeded any metrics that could have been expected. I feel incredible and receive frequent compliments from friends who can see the physical changes that this dynamic program has yielded for me.
Beyond the muscular changes, working with Dave significantly transformed my outlook and mental fortitude. Whereas working out alone can seem daunting and boring, there is never a dull moment when Dave is involved. Whether we are discussing the events of the day, coming up with slogans or new exercise approaches or just goofing around, it's always a positive atmosphere. His knowledge and dedication is what attracts such a diverse clientele, but we all love Dave because of who he is. His unconventional personality and unabashed enthusiasm is one of his greatest strengths as a trainer & person. I developed close friendships with a considerable number of his other devotees and it's more accurate to say we've become Dave's fitness family.
My expectations at the start of this journey were mild and mixed at best. Looking back now, this entire experience proved tremendous in a variety of physical and personal ways. In the moment, it's all sweat, tears and often laughs. But we're not just surviving Dave's inventive workouts and questionable jokes. We're thriving as we build a stronger future, together.

David is amazing. When I started with David in October 2017, I was 20 pounds heavier, had a handful of restrictions when it came to exercising, and little self-confidence. After only one month I started to see results not only with how I looked physically, but how I felt mentally. David has helped me transform my appearance, and change my perception of not only how I looked at health and nutrition, but how I viewed myself. David is personable, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable of nutrition and exercise. He has helped me reach every goal I have set for myself, and has set me up for a successful lifestyle of nutrition and exercise, and healthy relationship with myself.

When I started I originally wanted to try something different. I had reached a downfall in my own workouts and felt stagnant with very little motivation and energy. I wanted to focus on building upper body strength and continue to strengthen my lower body, but different from my usual workouts. I was anxious in general because I have always done my individual training and did not know how this type training would be. I feared not meeting certain expectations of training or if my body was not ready to get back to a routine.
To this date I can say I feel very please with the progress I have made physically and mentally. I have noticed upper body strength has improved allowing me to use in other activities such as handstands/planks/pushups. Physically I’ve noticed my arms shaping up differently and I've continued to get stronger on my lower body. I've been able to see and feel different about the way my body has been changing and the constant motivation really helps!
Working with David has been different because it has a lot of variation. He is able to identify your strengths and use that in the workouts to push you and motivate you to keep going. This is my first time working with a trainer and I've been happy because David suits your needs based on your level and helps you to reach your goals little by little, even if different alternatives to workours are needed. It is also encouraging to have him check up on you after the workouts and reach out to hear from you to see if there are any questions or concerns and is always open for feedback!
Very happy to work with David !

Slouching on laptop for long hours every day for past 10 years doing IT job, combined with plenty of inactivity messed up my neck and shoulders really bad back in 2015 that spine surgery was discussed as a possibility. 10 lbs. biceps curl under guidance of a physiotherapist became an achievement. With varying pain and sensations across neck, arms, shoulders and back, combined with fear of knife hanging over the neck in all literal sense, the optimist in me took a U turn. Had someone told me back then that in next few years I am going to have lean muscles and be able to do 30 pushups, swing 90 lbs kettlebell, lift 200 lbs on trap bar, a minute of plank and much more, all within an hour, I would have brushed it off as a joke. Fast-forwarding life today, this is a reality. All thanks to David!
Started training with David from Aug 2017 and since then together we have been rewriting history and creating a new future with my body. If not for David, this transformation would have taken a very good physiotherapist, strength trainer, nutritionist and most importantly a psychologists to push me through the fear of pain. David patiently listens to me whenever I complain of stiffness, soreness or pain, and with his superior understanding of human musculo-skeletal system, David helps me understand, differentiate and deal with then. David doesn’t limit the interaction to just the 1 hour workout session. He checks on how my body is feeling through text messages after workouts, taking personal training to a new level. With our interactions no longer limited to just workout, I am so lucky to have found a friend, philosopher and guide in David.
David's classes are not just intense but also fun. Especially, Saturday group session is one I look forward to every weekend, where I get to work out alongside a bunch of fun, friendly and motivated fitness enthusiast. If anything about me resonates with you and if you are looking for that true personal trainer, you are in luck!

I had been weight lifting for 2-3 years before meeting dave. I never sought out a trainer before,
One, because i would see majority of them on their phone while their client performed their exercises and two, because i thought i can reach my goals on my own over time. I had passed by dave's classes a few times before going up to him and introducing myself and wanted to join in on the fun. we spoke about what i had been currently working on and what my goals were and he began to guide me on how i can achieve those goals. Dave right away was selfless in guiding me on my nutrition regimen and constructed a program for me that incorporated at least one of his classes and the other days would be on my own. I was always and still am, able to check in with him for help. After weeks of being on that specific program, my professional life had change drastically. I began working as an ER nurse and found that i would only want to work out 3-4 times a week instead of the 5-6 times i was doing previously. Dave right away said " i will make a program for you where you can still work towards your goals". I never knew how to plan a program, never knew at what point i should be making tweaks in my regimen, which is why I wasn’t seeing nor feeling improvements in my strength or esthetics, but working with Dave has helped me so much!
Another aspect of Dave and his training that I love is the “in your face”, high energy, big personality that pushes you to finish that last rep, all while having fun and sharing laughs. It is exactly what I need when I feel a little unmotivated or see that I’m slacking. They either humble me or excite me, either way I leave feeling great!
i highly recommend Dave's services if you're looking for a knowledgeable trainer who doesn't push BS but makes you believe in yourself and proves to you just how much more you are really capable of!

David's knowledge, expertise and passion for fitness has helped me tremendously in achieving my personal goals. He really invests the time and personal attention to formulate a fitness program that meets one’s needs. Prior to working with David, I constantly had knee pain which hindered me from achieving my goals in the gym. Within a couple of months of training, my knee pain went away, and I was able to work on setting new goals. Without his dedication and motivation, I would not have been able to achieve my goals. I would highly recommend David to anyone who is looking for a personal trainer.

Short intro of who you are and what your goals were
As of this writing, I’m a 43-year old male. Before working with Dave, I weighed around 206-210. While I was built and have been working out for several years already with other trainers, I wanted to drop more fat, build more muscle, get stronger, and stay healthy as I age. Right before hiring Dave, I switched gyms, so I definitely wanted to continue my work with a fitness coach.
What challenges were you facing?
Because I’m involved in the medical field, I understood the challenges of building more muscle and dropping fat as I age, and I could tell due to how much more difficult it was to inject the same level of intensity and effort into my workouts. Regardless, I refused to settle and decided to hire Dave.
What was experience with me like? What would you say I do well? What do you think makes me 'different'?
The first thing I noticed about Dave was that he’s attentive. Not overbearing attentive like he’ll follow me around with a towel and a bottle of water, but attentive in the sense he’s watching every rep and set and making sure I’m doing things properly and to the best of my ability.
Every workout is both challenging and fun. Dave understands how difficult it is to stay consistent on a routine, especially when it’s riddled with exercises that are super tough (yet effective), so he tries his best to keep you engaged and motivated. He’s very encouraging yet he doesn’t reek of that ‘super pump and lift you up, positive, feel good-y, motivational stuff’ trainers are typically known for.
Most importantly, Dave gets you to ‘think’. I thought personal trainers were just supposed to watch what you do and tell you how to do things. Dave takes a completely different approach. He actually got me involved in my own transformation. He made it a ‘team’ effort, asked me for my feedback and opinion frequently, and based his recommendations off of what was working for me at the time and how confident and comfortable I felt carrying out his recommendations. Everything he did was personalized to me and highly customizable.
His passion for his clients and work is readily apparent. In the way he moves with you and speaks to you, you can tell he really cares about the success of his clients.
Specific results? How has working with me helped you?
Before I started working with Dave a couple years ago, I was 206-210 pounds with 24% body fat. Now, I’m 184-187 pounds at 14% body fat. I didn’t change up my diet that much. I reduced my alcohol consumption, I don’t eat out as much, and I’ve switched up the composition of my diet, and I did them all in a way that’s both sustainable and not depriving.
I was only able to do 6 chin-ups on a good day. Now I do 6 chin-ups with 40-50 extra pounds hanging from my waist. I’ve always been apprehensive about lower body days because my hips are tight and sore, which leads to sore knees. I attribute this to the years of horseback riding. Since working with Dave, I’ve incorporated at least one lower body day into my weekly routine to the immense benefit of both my lower and total body. As a guy, I can brag about my bubble butt, the striations in my thighs, and the benefits of a stronger lower body.
What would you say I could do better?
The biggest challenge Dave has is that he doesn’t look like your typical trainer. He’s not tall. He’s not buff. And he’s definitely not handsome. Well, not as handsome as some of the other trainers I’ve had. He doesn’t have a deep, rolling, golden voice. Instead, he’s 5’7”, Asian, small in stature, and he has the potential to be one of the biggest goofballs you’ll ever meet. Sometimes you’ll wonder if he’s serious about life at all. In the beginning, I didn’t know what to make of Dave since he didn’t fit the profile of what I thought a trainer was supposed to look like, so if you’re the type of person who judges someone’s expertise on the way they look, just keep this in mind.
Would you recommend my services?
Absolutely. Dave has been instrumental in the way I transformed myself.

I started working with David after a year of surgeries and cancer treatments. I have always hated working out, and decided a trainer would force me to get into the gym. Working with David has far surpassed my expectations! Four months later, I am stronger and more fit than ever before. David has been an amazing trainer who really cares about his clients and helping them do their best. I really enjoy my workouts with David and actually look forward to them each week. I see and feel results, which is something I have always struggled with in the past. In a conversation with another client, she referred to working with David as “life-changing” and I couldn’t agree more because that it definitely the experience I have had. He has helped me meet my goals and then some. I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer!

I began my fitness journey ten years a go at a local gym after college. Back then my focus was losing weight and so I focused on cardio; mostly attending spin classes and boot camp sessions. I was always intimidated by weight training. However, five years a go I joined a local “body building” type mom and pop gym and fell in love with weight training. Unfortunately, after a year of intense training I got injured. Since then I was afraid of lifting.
I realized last year that I needed to overcome my fear of weight training and so I signed up for a personal trainer. David has helped me overcome this fear. He motivated me to lift and to lift HEAVY. He is very knowledgeable on technique, and most importantly for me, form. He is very attentive to his clients always asking for feedback and what he can do to help meet your goals. Since I began my fitness journey with David I have gained 15 pounds of muscle and have surpassed my squatting goal of two pounds.
If you’re looking for a trainer to take you to the next level of weight training/ Olympic lifting David is your guy.

Fitness was a luxury to me but after I started working with David fitness has become an integral part of my lifestyle. I started working with David 8 months ago and my journey so far has been incredible. When I first started working with David, my goal was to improve my physical and mental strength through a continuous workout regime. I was looking for a workout program that is both challenging and fun. I am so happy I found David and he agreed to train me. David's sessions are one of a kind with workouts that are designed to motivate and push me to continuously improve myself. In the beginning, I could do not do one push-up, after four months I was able to do 10. I never thought I could ever do chin-ups and I did my first chin-up today.
Apart from physical training, David is well informed about nutrition and my food habits have changed for good with his consultation and tips. David is an excellent trainer who really cares about your goals and I also consider him a close personal friend. David carries a great personality and charisma (and he is very "FUNNY" ). It is amazing how his clients are now a little workout community.

My fitness journey began 7 years ago, but it wasn’t until I started training with David that brought out my true potential. David’s scope of knowledge goes beyond any trainer I’ve come across. He has the ability to construct a workout routine with a combination of your favorite exercises and introduce you to unique ones backed by science and proof of results. The reason I started training with David was to orchestrate a flexible routine that allows me to complete my workout in a timely manner while making consistent gains and developing strength and athleticism. Well, in the past 3 months I’ve managed to gain 7 pounds of muscle through rigorous training, effective communication, and weekly check-ins with David. This guy truly wants to see you reach your goals and will do whatever it takes to make it happen. It’s up to you if you want to put in the work, but there is no doubt in his abilities to help you achieve them. If you’re looking to make improvements in your health, I highly recommend David’s training and nutritional advice.

I've been working with David for over 2 years. I've worked with other personal trainers in the past. I've worked with other nutritionists in the past. With David, I found a great combination of both nutritional guidance AND fitness. I was stuck in the same body shape for years even with regular exercise and trying every food plan out there. Somehow, David was able to help me get the leaner and stronger body I was looking for. His approach is individual. He has a basic outline with his nutrition advice but then he will address your goals uniquely. Same thing goes for his fitness regime - he will advise more cardio or sprint or heavy weights or whatever depending on what you want to achieve. He is available for advice on diet and exercise at anytime. He also has a great blog and puts out some amazingly mentally balanced articles! I started working with him when he was at NYSC and I followed him to his new place at 188 Post Road. The new place is in the basement and it is not as elegant as the NYSC in White Plains. But he has everything he needs and I applaud his ambition to go out on his own. I would STRONGLY recommend David's services to anyone who wants to get healthier - at any age! I am well past 50 but I feel stronger than ever.

My goal when we started working together was to get stronger and to learn how to properly work out to achieve results. David is results oriented. He promised a change in 2 months which did happen. He fixed a nagging shoulder Injury by targeting the issue with a well defined weight training plan. Issue there is no more.
David meticulously keeps track of your progress and sets and tracks internal goals to keep you on point. He is sincere in his interest to get you to your objective.
I’m 61 yrs old and I’ve not met anyone my age in my condition. Whether it’s carrying the groceries up a flight of stairs or lifting a heavy object.
If you work with David you will enjoy a better more productive life as I have with a stronger body. I consider him an integral part of my life team and a true personal friend.
