Great is gym with minor issues. The main one being that there is no A/C whatsoever. It took them forever to just get “fans” and one already is broken. On hot days or even when the sun is just beaming in prepare to sweat bullets as if you’re at the beach. I know a lot of people who have complained and little has been done to fix this. This place makes more than enough and should at least install an A/C system

I like the gym because it is usually quiet and has a nice functional fitness area. However, it is not uncommon to see 4 plates on a deadlift platform being untouched. Most people don’t re-rack their weights. Including the trainers who work here. It would be nice if they had places to rack the plates on the gym floor instead of looking behind all the equipment to find what you need. Price is very high but I don’t have many options in the area. Overall I’m happy because it’s quiet and has all the great gym equipment and space needed but the place is usually a wreck.

Was looking for a place to join, but between what sounds like what might be a creepy guy trainer/manager reviews and the one about the resting between sets that sounds like a hard pass.

Been here a year already and have no complaints about this place, on the contrary I am grateful and I appreciative about them being the few complete gyms in town.
Thank you to D e n n i s and his crew for keeping this gym always clean and up keep with the machines.

I’ve been going here for almost a year now and the gym is nice, one of the nicest ones around Glen Cove but for the price, which is literally $90 a month, it’s an awful deal. A lot of the bigger gyms that are an extra 10 minute drive have even more amenities for half the price or for even 20-30 dollars.
Not only is this place over priced but the rock wall is advertised on their website and it’s been closed since I started going. Towels are not usually there and the only friendly staff is Stephanie.
I would consider another gym unless they lower their prices and get new staff.

I have been a member for over 17 years and use the facility on a regular basis. I have seen people come and go over the years but the common thread is the owners and employees that have become like family. No false pretenses, no egos, just a great place to workout and see friendly faces of people who enjoy working out. I had surgery a few years ago and was in a bad place. Dennis, Pete and the my gym friends got me back to where I wanted to be. Can't wait to back there tomorrow.

Great gym, relaxed environment, multiple machines for every body part, never crowded so you don't have to wait for machines, really reasonable and an overall great find. They also have a sauna which is really nice to warm up in during the winter.

The most fully equipped gym in the area. Every machine you could want for a great workout. Friendly community, showers, sauna.
I have been a member for three years and now my family joined as well as my brother in law and my 88 year old father.
The trainers are excellent, the members are helpful, supportive and friendly, and it's never crowded. They get new equipment often. Very happy there and the membership is very reasonable.

Long overdue review for my favorite gym (of 17 years!)... Friendly, helpful staff, a wide array of equipment, very reasonably priced and well located. I have been a happy member for years and love the TS family I see everyday. :-)
In addition, a little over a year ago, after a hip labrum tear, I began training with Dennis, who over the past year and helped me heal, corrected my bad habits that caused the injury and pushed me to a much healthier fitness level - Thank You!

I finally found a truly inspiring and supportive environment at The Training Station! Dennis is an exceptional trainer, guiding me not only through weight training but also helping me establish a nutrition plan that's effective. The progress I've made in just six weeks—increased strength, endurance, and weight loss are significant achievements that I am very proud of.
The gym's commitment to creating a sense of community, hard work, and determination is invaluable. Having access to a wide range of equipment, as well as amenities like the steam room and sauna, adds an extra level of comfort and luxury to your fitness journey. Plus, the inclusion of group classes provides variety and additional motivation.
Affordable membership fees and accommodating hours make it even more accessible for you to prioritize your health and well-being. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who share dedication to self-care and discipline can be incredibly motivating and uplifting. I am eternally grateful for finally walking through the doors of The Training Station and being part of this wonderful family!

Heard some very bad things about this place a an unprofessional trainer there preying on women. Ladies beware and find a more professional gym.

This gym is very dirty and I noticed the towels smell really bad. The owner walks around like he’s about to fight someone. Equipment is always broken and it takes awhile for machines to get fixed. I will be canceling this week.

Stay away at all costs from this so called Gym. First of, it’s way too expensive , secondly there is a bald guy who is probably the manager or owner who’s got a weird attitude and makes the place so uncomfortable, and lastly they hit you with “facility maintenance fees” and on top when you call to cancel before your contract ends they still charge you for the following month , what a rip off , the only thing they are achieving it’s having people leave and join another gym bc guess what , that’s what I did , canceled you and joined a way better Gym . Learn to do business and people will eventually stay ! People stay away !!!

I had a really bad vibe right off the bat with this gym. The bald man who looks like an owner made me extremely uncomfortable. He looked very friendly with some of the women in the gym, maybe a little too friendly. Very predator like. At the very least there seems to be too much drama and I wont be back

Manager or owner always seems angry. I've gone a few times and I always feel very uncomfortable when hes there. Seems like plenty of the women feel the same. Idk how else to describe him but its the bald guy. Would definitely stay away.

Unfortunately, you have to give this place 1 star to leave a review, even when they don’t deserve it. Gym is way over priced for what it is. The only benefit is there aren’t a lot of other gym goers there, probably due to the unreasonable price. Equipment is mediocre at best. What can they say, they have a sauna and steam room? So do other gyms for half the price. Please don’t waste your money. If you want to cancel you’ll have to deal with a challenging manager (could be owner, who knows) and he’ll put the blame on you and hide behind some company policy, even when other staff members (who are very pleasant) tell you to come in if there’s any issue/you get charged the follow month (the month after you’ve already cancelled). There’s a way to do business in which you aren’t taking money from customers who no longer wish to spend their money for your service. The gym clearly needs the money in whatever way they can get it. Again do not waste your money joining this lackluster gym.

BUYER BEWARE. I cancelled my membership over the phone in October, since they have a 30 day cancellation notice policy. They told me to come in to fill out paper work. Since I moved upstate I didn’t have time to personally come in to fill out the paper work till November. After the membership was cancelled, they still charged my account in January for $232 dollars telling me I had to pay for the month of December since the paper work was filled in November. I haven’t used the Gym since October, payed for the month of November due to their policy. When i got a phone call regarding the situation the representative had no care, I told them I cancelled in October and I will show them my utility bill and he said “sorry, it’s our policy”. It’s unprofessional and a scam. A local gym that will take your money with no care. I recommend joining any other club in the area. Definitely not the Training Station.

Very friendly staff! But this place every time I visit is dirtier than before! I like to workout later on the afternoon because it’s not so packed but and there is no anymore clean towels! The toilet most of the time smells horrible and is dirty! Hope one of the managers read it and fix the situation cause for the money we pay doesn’t worth it!

I’ve been working out at various gyms for about 16 years (Gold’s, powerhouse, NYSC, etc.) and I’ve never once had a serious issue with a staff member. Today at training station the manager approached my girlfriend and I and said we had bad gym etiquette because we sit at the machine for 45 seconds while resting in between sets. When I informed him that that’s normal and I will continue to rest in between sets, he said that we don’t understand gym etiquette and threatened to cancel our membership, which we did since this place needs new management. The gym is also overpriced for what it is, not well maintained and clearly on the decline. Avoid this place at all costs.

I see a lot of reviews about lot of kids being in the gym. But they are respectful never had any problems. I do see the staff reprimanded them from time to time for acting stupid sometimes. The gym has been adding new equipment and renovations has been on going.
Bathrooms totally need to be renovated!!!
Overall it’s a good gym and I recommend it

HORRIBLE. This place has gone down hill tremendously.. it has essentially turned into a childrens playground. There are kids working out here that are so young it doesn’t seem legal (how are 10 year olds using equipment not a liability??) this place is SWARMED with rude and inconsiderate high school kids that leave this gym a mess on a daily basis. It’s clear why they’re losing members left and right. You also know it’s bad when they have signs posted around the gym that if you take your shirt off your membership will be canceled. You’re better off joining planet fitness.

Horrible customer care.... no sauna, water founded , closes 2 hours before closing time, charges an extra $80 a year for no reason, black mold in the bathroom and hall way, half the machines are always broken, tight spaces everything and everyone is on top of each other, if you think signing up to this gym is something for you don’t forget when you sign up they lock you in for a year and there’s no way out and if you get a friend to join all you get is a big fat nothing. Training station just takes your money and doesn’t care about you as a individual.

I feel like I’m being ripped off every month. I would have quit this gym months ago but they LOCK you in with a contract... that’s how they keep you here- not with great product or service. I’ve put my cancellation notice in now so they don’t force me into another year of misery.

I just joined and love this place. They are very clean, have a great atmosphere and have top notch equipment.
I had orientation with Jason. He answered any questions I had and gave me fantastic tips on how to better my workout routine.
It's well worth the cost of membership, I'm very glad I joined here .

Canceling my membership with this gym has been a nightmare. I gave the proper 30 days' notice (I was moving) and my account was still charged the following month. I call to dispute the charges, am told that they can't find the paperwork saying that I had canceled but said they would call me back. Never called back. I called back again, was given a lame apology about the lack of communication, and was assured that my refund had gone through. I was told to call back in one week if I didn't see the refund on my account.
Sure enough, one week later, the refund was still not there. I called back, yet again, and was told that oops, the refund didn't go through until today. I should be seeing the money in my account in 3-5 business days. Essentially it has taken them a full month to process the refund of money that should not have been taken from my account in the first place.
I don't expect the people working at my gym to be brain surgeons, but I don't think handling basic administrative tasks is too much to ask. Save yourself the headache and go to literally any other gym in the area.
