genuinely love YMCA and have even worked for the YMCA organization in the past. I really enjoy coming here, even though not everything is as new or beautiful as, for example, the downtown Plattsburgh location.

However, there’s one thing that drives me crazy—the front door has this piercing electric chime that goes off every time you enter so the front desk knows someone came in. It’s not a normal door squeak—it’s loud and really ear-piercing. I honestly don’t understand why they can’t replace it with something more pleasant, like a recording of someone saying “Welcome,” a snippet of a YMCA song, or even just a small bell. I wear headphones to get through it, but it’s still very frustrating.

Please, management, take note! Out of my great love for YMCA, I’m giving five stars, but I really hope something can be done about this door sound.

I have been at times apart of the Y as a member and staff over the years. They are always great on helping their community. Staff is always great and friendly. Equipment works while some is a throw back to my INBF training days at the Y in WNY. They still have a lat pull over machine which is the best piece of equipment while gyms move towards the trendy workouts in play now.
The oval Y though needs a bit of maintenance repairs, men's locker room bathroom has half of it broken and closed off.

Good location, plenty of parking, staff are friendly. Apart from that, the building is dilapidated and all the gym equipment is on the fritz. Fix ONE of the three broken recumbent bikes (one of which has been broken for literal years, now) and I’ll knock up my review two stars and rejoin. Otherwise, cya.

50 dollars is a over price for a single membership. Treadmills are old loud and don't workt. Sauna and basketball court are all this gym has to offer for it's price. Having to give a month notice before termination is ridiculous as well and not customer friendly at all. Makes no sense other than the company locking in a extra 50 bucks from a person if they don't notify ya a month ahead of time. Good marketing scheme.

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. I ABSOLUTELY DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM PAYING THE $50/MONTH. I, HOWEVER, THINK IT'S WRONG TO PAY THAT RIDICULOUS AMOUNT JUST TO WALK THE TRACK!! SERIOUSLY!! All I wanted was to walk the indoor track at the YMCA on the Oval. I am not interested in taking any classes or using any equipment. $50 a month. How is that justifiable?! Is the YMCA all about making money or helping build a more healthy community??????
UPDATE March 26th. It took the YMCA three weeks to let me know that they will not adjust the rate if I just wanted to walk the track. SO SAD!! LIKE I SAID, IT'S ALL ABOUT MAKING MONEY. NEVER WILL I EVER DONATE MY HARD WORKING MONEY TO THE YMCA AGAIN.

The noise here some will find intolerable. Avoid at peak times and it's ok. Indoor driving range, indoor track, huge locker rooms, 2 full size basketball courts and large activity rooms. Heavy bag and speed bag. The cardio equipment is old and the machine circuit machine nes are 1980s.

They treated us like babies even though we are 12 and made my grandpa drive all the way back here and last time and the time before that we had no problem getting through without a guardian.

I’ll rate this 5 stars this is a great reopening of this gym I go there years ago but to improve the place I’m thinking about extending the hours of closings it feels like to early to close on a Sunday or 7pm on mon-fri and Saturday 4pm please extend the hours
